Our stay at Westin Reserva Conchal was magical. We are not incentivized or paid by the resort to make this review and we were first time visitors in Costa Rica. Check in , Transportation and Room Service First of all we were offered something to drink and had an excellent check in service by Camila and Martyn at the front desk. They patiently waited while we resolved an issue with our Travel company booking issue for over 1 hr and worked to resolve with the reservation and management team as well. We left very satisfied with the outcome and the collaboration to help us overall. We upgraded to full access because we were celebrating a special occasion on this long awaited trip. There are constant shuttles from 7am to 10pm then 10pm to 7am limited shuttle service. Shuttles can be called by dialing zero from any phone located on the property, restaurant hosts will offer to call and there are stand alone phones. ALL shuttle drivers were good spirited and great but we have a few that stood out. We are especially grateful to shuttle driver Luis who made this trip special by securing the Catamaran Shuttle for us and made an amazing night time grounds tour where we could enjoy the breeze. Fernando was our most frequent shuttle driver who made all the effort to get the Catamaran Shuttle for us as well right before we left and made sure we made it to meet our offsite drivers on time (when we were running behind). Fernando constantly greeting us, checking in as he shuttled by from time to time ( Fernando thank you for your kindness). Room Service is included with every room and available 24/7 for housekeeping items (such as soap or sewing kit or medical kit items) or food service. The quality is just as high as if you ate at a restaurant so don't hesitate to order. Everything will arrive 20 to 30 mins from order or less (we timed it). Rooms , Grounds, Pools,and Beach. The rooms were immaculate and well decorated. There is a safe and beverage center with a nice machine to make tea or coffee. All the channels we found were majority in spanish so thankfully we were allowed to login to Netflix. Limited Tv encouraged us to be outside on the grounds. Be aware they have half size ironing boards and you may need to use a towel to put on top of your clothes especially for cotton or delicate items/materials. The hotel. Cleaners did a great job on any requests just empty all fridge bottles before throwing them away for them to be discarded in trash. Fridges are stocked fully each day and all items are included. The grounds felt like you were transported to another world so many plants, trees and animals including monkeys live in the trees and on the grounds to watch (not pet or feed) and enjoy. The property is surrounded by an exclusive beach club and sprawling golf course ( we don't golf but we like the views and man-made lake). This resort was walkable (which we enjoyed or you can just take a shuttle everywhere) and we think it was very wheelchair accessible for those who need that. The pools at the Westin Club with Concierge service and the General Pool (Adult and Family areas) were gorgeous and the activity teams were always friendly. Best price for souvenirs will be the vendors on the adjoining public beach. Be aware that there are many on beach massage offers for 40 dollars- we did not get any but vendors are on the beach. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are arranged on the beach and you are interrupted minimal once you claim one but will be approached when walking to your spot. Police and hotel security monitor the beach during the day time. Activities, Day/Night Entertainment and Wellness There were constant inclusive activities from Bike riding , morning beach runs, sunset yoga, 360 degree cameras, headphone silent parties and much more to keep us occupied. We suggest these activities for couples. Offsite Tours We booked our tour to the Waterfall to swim and the Volcanic Hot Mud/Hotsprings which made our trip extra awesome. We suggest shopping around first with a lot of research on the tour guides on trip advisor on and off the property before booking. Cash payments and deposits are sometimes required to negotiate better deals over all. Food Experience We are huge foodies! We suggest dining for a peaceful impressive breakfast and lunch at Faisenella restaurant ( Westin Club upgrade. Many thanks to Host Anthony and Manager Stephanie and team for consistency). Anthony (I think his last name was Rios) was so good to get us reasonable and off menu items when requested, going above and beyond. We suggest La Sabana steakhouse Cucumber Carpaccio , Pumpkin Soup and Steaks. Also try Bamboo restaurant Sushi or Any Rice or Noodle dishes ( Many Thanks to especially the lead dining host and the Manager at LA Sabana who was mindful to switch tables and go the extra mile to put me under the fan and special drink request/allergy requests were made). One of the most outstanding moments on the trip is when we visited the W hotel (which can be requested by shuttle service) next door to an a la carte 7 tasting menu which was well done and of such high quality. Each tasting had a signature drink pairing that could be also made into a cocktail. The mixologist was on hand and amazing. Thank you to Tanya C. Director of Food and Beverage of 20 yrs for arranging this moment and making sure we felt at home at this Westin destination. It wouldn't have been an amazing trip without you and your team! Overall we have already recommended this hotel and destination to many friends and neighbors. Marriott Bonvoy has really impressed us due to this property. We had heard so many wonderful things about going on vacation in Costa Rica. So many resorts to choose from! We are so glad we chose the Westin. The real key to the success of our vacation was a wonderful employee named Georgiana, who facilitated our move to the club suites. Our concierge‘s name was Nelson and he was the most helpful and wonderful wonderful man. My wife and I have never stayed at such an elegant suite , I think the bathroom may have been bigger than most of the motel rooms I’ve stayed in. Room service arrived promptly 8 AM every morning with a pot of the most delicious coffee I’ve ever had in my life and croissants. As we drank our coffee on the humongous balcony. (that even had a bathtub on it) Howler Monkeys would come swinging by the trees on their way to breakfast. Like 70 monkeys. We had reservations at a different restaurant each night. The food was very good at every one of them. Our favorite was the Italian restaurant where Rebecca was our server. We had so much fun We came home and booked our next trip. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Our family cannot stop talking about the best week we just spent at Westin playa Conchal. This place is the best for so many reason. The setting is incredible: Conchal beach is so beautiful and feels almost secluded. The staff here is so amazing in every aspect truly genuine happy people. We loved the food and I got picky eaters. Room was spotless and all were happy with customer service. Speaking of customer service I recommend you research Conchalfun and contact Andrei if you think of doing any tours. A truly well organized company with all the insurances and permits and we called a toll free number to get ALL questions answered by Andrei himself. We do not take our kids on tours from beach vendors as we had a bad experience in Dominican republic and got taught a lesson. We booked in advance and were glad to have reserved our preferred dates. Private sail boat was incredible half day in the evening will all inclusive. we looked a crowded catamaran sail by and were happy to be on our private boat and do our won thing. You must do the Rio celeste tour with Ron the ma of the hour. What amazing human this guy. He made us feel welcome and made us laugh all day not to mention all the info about the country and constantly answering my kids questions. Do not hesitate to book Westin and Conchalfun they go hand in hand for a perfect vacation.

Compared to our trip to Hawaii and staying at the Fairmount in Maui, the Westin was a notch better. The rooms were clean and spacious. The service was beyond accommodating. The Costa Rica Pura Vida life shines bright here. The food for an all inclusive is very good. There are plenty of restaurants and variety to choose from during the stay. (A special thanks to Daniel in Mitra Market for his excellent service). A nice extra is live entertainment that makes the resort like a cruise on land.

I would highly recommend staying at the Westin Concho hotel resort. It’s an amazing place with amazing restaurants. Also on the beach, you can book an incredible Scrooge and with Eric G who will set you up for an awesome fun, safe, and exciting day. He is in the blue shirt out in front of the Westin and he is a must find on your trip. We will be returning back to the Westin because if it’s quality hotel, beach and restaurants. Five at a five stars.
