This was a very picturesque and unique tour. The whole family had a terrific time. Thank you Alex for the amazing experience!

The upgrades were nice. We are La Herencia members and have had last minute changes over the last 5 years-the room type promised wasn't available, we were put on the opposite end of the resort from the LaHerencia facilities, etc. There is an expected construction inconvenience but we expected to be given what was quoted upon the reservation.

As I understand it, Kimpton is looking to take over the management of Tres Rios in the next few months. Kimpton is rated a 5star. Although Tres Rios has upgraded itself in some areas there still needs to be changes/upgrades to bring it to a 5Star. The road into the resort needs work too many rundown buildings are visible. The front entrance to the resort itself needs work as well. Unattractive and definitely not what I would call 5Star. The main rest room was under renovation and other available restroom were scarce.

It was a beautiful getaway experience for the whole family, the activities that includes are very interactive, the tour guides are really awesome, the food was good in general, rooms always clean and tidy, the only thing we noticed is that in general the whole facility needs improvement and updates, for the time we were there the occupancy was no more than 40% and that give us an idea that Tres Rios needs to push more in order to gain again the trust and preference of previous owners and guests.

Kimpton promises fall flat. Fewer outdoor activities. It’s the week of XMas and the place is a ghost town. Restaurants. Italian 3.5 /5 Japanese. 3.6/5 The grill 3/5 Buffet. 3/5 Renovations missed the mark. Two new buildings were supposed to be done now and are at least 6 months away. The staff try really hard and do make up for some of the physical plant deficiencies. If you go, plan on offsite excursions IHG Kimpton should be ashamed of this deliverable.

My wife and I took the four-night package in August and really got our money's worth! The service from the entire staff was phenomenal. The nature activities, including biking and kayaking through the terrain and rivers, are not to be missed. The beach was beautiful. The complimentary wind surfing boat ride was very special. The quality and quantity of food available was amazing and I am a NYC food snob! And the top shelf liquor was always available! I could go on... Visit this property!!
