Hacienda Tres Rios

I’m a La Herencia member here. The resort had some construction in the second Herencia building for room upgrades. The visit was with friends and family, and overall we had an excellent time. It wasn’t too crowded, food quality was great, and the service at every bar and restaurant was excellent. The staff is always very friendly- from the Butlers to the housekeepers, everyone has a smile and greets you all the time. The beach area was redone from my last visit and the sand was super clean and white. All the common areas were well maintained, and our rooms had been recently updated. The cenote is still incredibly peaceful, and we floated it multiple times out to the beach during our visit. Our shuttles and luggage handling to and from the airport were dialed in- everything ran like clockwork. Why I give it 4 and not 5 stars- there were some maintenance issues with our room like light bulbs out and broken door handles that I had got request repair, one evening the hot water to guest rooms to the whole building went out, and with new changes to management and programs (I think this is related to Kimpton?) we did not have amenities we used to have, like a wine menu at all the restaurants (you only have access to this at the Porto Bella restaurant). All in all though, this resort is run very well, even though it’s nearing 20 years old, the property has been recently renovated, and new buildings are about to open. We have greatly enjoyed every visit. There’s always special memories here with the people we love.

We had an amazing time at this resort. The lush tropical nature was amazing. It's location right next to a nature preserve let us see a lot of wildlife. The cenotes are a true natural treasure. We floated down the cenote River, and swam in the ocean and walked along the beach. The service was amazing! The butlers took excellent care of us. They made reservations at the restaurants, helped us navigate room service, and made sure we had everything we needed. It was especially lovely to be able to reserve seats by the pool, and a Cabana by the ocean. The food was also very delicious. The buffets and restaurants had so much variety. Five stars, would happily return!

We had a really fun vacation at Hacienda Tres Rios. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is very friendly, and the amenities are dialed in for maximum fun and relaxation. Some tips for things to bring: Definitely bring or buy a small pool float/inner tube so you can enjoy the cenote, pool, and ocean. Also bring some bug spray. There aren’t a ton of bugs, but it’s better to have the bug spray and not need it. I want to give some staff shout-outs to the people who went above and beyond for my comfort and also for my children. Marcos, Daniel, and Ruth were available to us throughout our stay and made our vacation as relaxing as possible. From booking restaurants, to taxis, from simple questions to having our room service delivered right on time. These people were MVPs. Caesar was always a fun conversation in the bar and he mixed up some delicious beverages every time. My last shout out goes to Gustavo the Teppanyaki chef who entertained us and provided a delicious meal. That was the best Teppanyaki dinner I’ve been to. He was genuinely friendly and funny. All in all this was an excellent experience for my family and I. We will recommend Hacienda Tres Rios to people who are looking for a relaxing family-friendly resort in the Playa Del Carmen/Cancun area.
