Hacienda Tres Rios

I’m leaving 3 stars based solely on the resort itself. The resort itself was under a lot of construction. Only a few restaurants were open. The beach was full of seaweed. Bars closed a little too early I found. Coming from New Orleans where bars never close to here where they close at 11-12 at night was a bummer. I brought my niece on a graduation trip so she could experience new things and travel to another Country with family. As far as the service, the service was amazing. I have listed a few of the people below that I highly recommend meeting and getting to know if you ever find your self at this resort. Rosa was amazing every morning for breakfast. She made sure we were taken care of and went above and beyond for us everyday. Mauricio and Alexander was a blast that kept us entertained with daily activities by the pool and at night in the sports bar. Always went above and beyond to find us to participate in the activities and let us know what time and what was planned. Cezar at the bar made the absolute best drinks. No one there made a drink better. He would keep them coming and made sure before shutdown we all had a full drink for last call. Alma in the cafe made the best coffees and always would get us what we asked for.

I went to Tres Rios for location, the atmosphere was nice. Rooms were nice, but my sink was leaking, and we did not have a microwave. The value of the experience was worth the money. The noise level of the construction was bothersome. The service was great though. Rosa, Cezar, Alexander, Mauricio all deserve a raise or any tips they received. Rosa was a lovely waitress for my family. Cezar was a great bartender and my family and I absolutely loved him. He kept things going at his bar, and was a fun person in general. His drinks were amazing. Alexander was a sweetheart and did his entertainment job perfectly. He kept the activities going and was very encouraging and enthusiastic about his job. He is the perfect person for his job. Mauricio was a great person also in the same entertainment area. He did amazing facepaint on my face and was fun to hang around in the game room bar. He kept conversations going and the party going.

Loved the service and the people, they were all very nice especially Rosa in the grill, Cezar in the bar, Alma in the cafe, and Mauricio for touring and activities. The grounds are beautiful and there are lots of animals running free. The food was ok, not amazing, but not bad. We took a bike tour and the bikes were falling apart, the ping pong tables and foosball table were trash.

They used to be responsive to their members. Not anymore. I asked them to buy back my membership because of the significant changes they made which made us not want to go back. Their response was "too bad". They used to have customer service. Not anymore.

Carlitos in the sport bar was fantastic!!!
