Hacienda Tres Rios

Loved every minute at Tres Rios! We were there two weeks. One week with family and one week as a couple. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and helpful. We loved our AWESOME Butler team. They really make you feel like family. Our team was Daniel, Alma, Ruth, Giovanni and Marcos. They are the best!!!! They were available to meet our wants, needs or to answer questions 24 hours a day. We also used What’s App to communicate with them at times and it worked well. They were so attentive, friendly, professional and kind and always possessed a smile or laugh. They reserved pool chairs and umbrellas for us daily and even sent us pictures of the locations, made dinner reservations for us at the restaurants on property at our desired times and provided our requested snacks and beverages in our rooms upon arrival. They remembered our names when we would see them at their desk and around the property which was so nice. We also enjoyed seeing again Selena and Karen at the concierge desk and Juan in transportation. They are always so helpful and kind. The entire staff is great - waiters, bartenders, room service, maids, activity staff, and ice cream staff. We all enjoyed the ice cream, especially our almost 3 year old granddaughter! What a treat to be able to take her there. We also very much enjoyed two days at Sunset Fisherman and used the transportation that is provided free from Tres Rios. They even came back to get us after departing HTR when we were late one day. Thanks, Juan! We were on time the next time! We would love to see 2-3 Bingo games played daily by the pool. Lots of good family fun! Thanks to everyone, but especially our Butlers! We will be back every year in February/March and maybe more often. We love HTR and the people there. I visited this resort with my 85 year of mother in March 2026, and I immediately felt at home, cared for, and a sense of peace and realaxation I have never felt at a resort. One of the biggest highlights was the staff. Pablo, the front desk manager had a warm and welcoming personality and made me feel like I was dealing with someone who cared compared to impersonal big business resorts. Over the course of the week, I did NOT have any concerns with Hacienda, but I asked Pablo for help in dealing with an issue I had the previous week and he was able to give valuable support, advice, and helped me to work through the problem. I am from Canada, do not speak Spanish, and after meeting him on the first day, I felt he was a friend who I could trust. I cannot express how much I appreciated all he did for me. I would also like to say that Umberto at the front desk also went above and beyond to help me with my problem as well. I appreciated his problem solving personality. Erik, the bell man, also stands out as he sincerely welcomed us to the hotel, helped us with our bags as was expected, but gave us a personal overview of the resort, how to access the activities, and kept telling us "welcome home". Throughout the week he would recognize my mom and myself and ask how we were doing and if there was anything else he could do and sincerely meant it. The activity team is fantastic in that they are so sincere, personal, and really want the guests to enjoy their stay, and it is easy to see that they love their job. A few people I would like to mention are: Aleandro - very friendly and is a joy to be around and told me many of the activities to enjoy during my stay Miriam - excellent tour guide for the kayak tour and remembered me throughout my stay which made it more personal Mauricio - bike tour was superb! He took our group to the 6 cenotes, gave a great educational information about the cenotes, flora, fauna, and termite houses. I really learned alot and enjoyed the bike ride as well Fatima - was fun at the pool side dance classes Fernando at Aquatics - He was very kind to take my 85 year old mom and I out for 2 catamaran boat rides. On my last day took me for a longer ride and I appreciated this extra time. It was a dream come true as I felt like I was "Moana on the ocean" The restaurant staff, the hostess at the buffet and the waitresses were always welcoming, fun, and wonderful to meet. I did not meet a grumpy or unprofessional person. They all seem to enjoy their work. I would like to especially point out Julio and Luis at Portebello for their special attention and lovely personality, Hugo and Victor at the pool really catered to mom and I as well. The restaruants food quality was excellent, very gourmet, not only in flavour but also in presentation. I have been to many resorts and I was the most impressed here. Also I really appreciated the local ripe sweet fruit at the buffet which at other resorts will seem pale or overripe. The fresh juices in the morning were a highlight for me. I really enjoyed not having to make reservations for supper and could just show up whenever we wanted to eat. That made the week even more enjoyable and less stressful. I also enjoyed the shows. The Mexican night with the dancing show was very professional. I was so impressed with the Magic show, he was amazing, not only with his magic but was so funny, had a great personality, and even talked to us after the show. This was a real highlight. I was so impressed with the staff, the onsite activities with the kayak, snorkel, bike tours, and catamaran. The resort itself seems new, beautifully constructed, and the fitness centre had more equipment than many fitness centres I have seen in Canada and USA. It was never busy. I was also very surprised to feel how warm the pools were. This is important to me as I always find pools in Mexico too cold, yet they were so comfortable I could be in them all day. I was also surprised that there were always plenty of chairs and there was no need to get wake up early to reserve the chairs with towels as is needed at other resorts. The vegatation around the pools and property also make it feel like a natural paradise and not a huge chain type resort. The beach is beautiful and natural and the side lagoon is protected from the wind and lovely to swim in and feel safe from the ocean current. Overall I have never experienced a resort where I could have all the luxury of five star dinning, huge rooms, heated pools, and attentive happy staff, yet at the same time be surrounded by nature and a sense of calm and peace even at the pools. Also I have never seen an all inclusive resort have on site natural activities with natural cenotes, kayak, snorkel, bike, and a catamaran that I could enjoy everyday. Luxury, excellent food, and nature activities. This truly is my paradise. Thank you so much!

Beautiful resort. Rooms were spacious and the shower was big enough to have a party in !!!! Drinks were good and most of the food was delicious. Everyone at the resort was helpful and we would defiantly return.

Anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of nature and yet receive all the best in an all inclusive resort needs to go here! They have provided everything for everyone. If you have children they have a wonderful pool with plenty of activities. If, like myself, you prefer a more peaceful environment it is just a step away where you have three pools to relax in. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of day beds or lounge chairs to enjoy. The restaurants and buffets are amazing in both flavor and variety. There is no other resort beside them so you can enjoy your trip in a private beautifully natural area. I went kayaking down a river, on a senses trip and a nursery tour all while remaining at the resort! There is wildlife to see , we enjoyed watching the monkeys in the trees at the nursery, the birds and fish in the rivers and the iguana all around. I can not say enough about that this resort. Absolutely love it there!

Trip was fun , 6 family members. Rooms were middle room sleeping accommodation is lacking . Service was great especially Miguel at the Hacienda Grill !!!! Hugo & Michael were fabulous at the pool side. If anything could be improved it would be One (1) umbrella for every 2 lounge chairs. Considering they call it a luxury resort. Nice place service is what makes it excellent. Lacking activities like pickleball, basketball, batting cage/mini golf was removed. Theatre has no bar area and has poor lighting. Must stress though the staff is all amazing!!!! They are so extremely professional and friendly. Being a member is definitely disappointing considering the value that is provided considering the all inclusive prices ( yes inflation has been a factor but not to the extent that prices have increased) considering limited amenities. Definitely not a 5 luxury resort as they claim but keep saying renovations and new owners are hoping to implement. Time will tell.
