My boyfriend and I blindly picked this resort to go on a 5 day vacation. When we got there we were greeted by wonderful staff who got us drinks from the bar right away! Once we checked in we went to our room..which was gorgeous! and got ready to go to the pool! We were in the back of the resort by the 'quiet' pool. We never really left that area for the whole vacation. The food was amazing, the staff was great! I would definitely go back if I ever make it to Mexico again, and would recommend this resort to anyone that wants a relaxing CHILD FREE vacation..that might have been the biggest selling point for us as neither of us have kids or want to waste our vacation listening to other people's screaming kids.

I just got back from The Royal, the main complaint that I had was I didn't stay longer. My trip was from September 18th-23rd. Upon arrival we had to wait less than 60 seconds and we were checked in and on our way to our presidential suite. The room we had was suite 994. Fredrico was our butler and was very accommodating. We arrive to out suite I immediately noticed they didn't provide the big bottles of liquor as I was with other travelers previous pictures and their own website. But apparently they stopped doing this 3-4 months prior. But Fredrico made it happen and got us the Don Julio (my mom requested) and the Jack Daniels )I requested). Through out the stay we had one guy make sure all our drinks were restocked, out made Belinda was great also. She provided everything we needed and wished me Happy Birthday via my bedroom decor. If you book the presidential suite they provide Blvgari toiletries and Evian water. You also have an assigned cabana on the beach. The beach was amazing I made sure I went there everyday. The "party" pool was cool they always had something going on. Then there was the quite pool that I never went to cause let's face it our room already had a private pool so it made no sense for me to go. Now on to the food went ate at Asiana our first night, I need you guys to just skip this place!!!! Like don't go anywhere near it! The sushi was cold like it came out of the freeze, the rolls were weird almost everything had "cheese" way too much rice, weak soy sauce just plain old yuck. The next day I ordered room service for breakfast which was delicious I got the salmon omelette and a side of bacon. My mom went to the El Mediterráneo that was right downstairs from our room, she said it was good but not a big selection for pescatarians. For lunch we went to the buffet called Spice (I hate buffets for the record), lunch was delicious, they had a taco bar, salad bar, cold app station, great fish dishes, nothing disappointed. For dinner we went to Chef's Plate, and dinner was freaking amazing best I've had so far, that includes restaurants in NYC. The waiter (forgot his name), described every dish. It is a bunch of courses they are small but when you leave your stuffed and happily stuffed. We also ate at Pelicanos, great entrees you could skip the apps. My birthday night we ate at Maria Marie, food was amazing also, our waiter was the best, we chatted about hot sauce for a few because we are those people at enjoy a kick! I ordered a lot of stuff escagot, trio tartare, seafood soup and ribeye. Everything was amazing!!! When we got back to our room on our birthday Fredrico left a bottle of champagne and truffles, nice touch. Now to the workers and everyone keeping this place running they were very polite and welcoming and I will be coming back next year! My mother and I enjoyed our trip immensely and could have stood an additional week. For travelers this place is also walking distance from 5th avenue (they have a sephora, forever 21, etc), not too far from Walmart too (cheap booze). Mexico is a beautiful place! I can't wait to go back

I stay at a lot of All Inclusive resorts would say 2-3 times a years. This one is pretty much at the top of the list! We had a center Garden view room and I can say that we loved it. We normal will book a swim out suite or get a butler included in the past at other resorts, however this time we decided just to book a regular room since we noticed we never really used those amenities since we go on excursion, go to the main pools or we are never in our rooms ect ect. I can say that no matter what room you get they all have great views here! If you are one to not stay in your rooms any room here will be great! The customer service here is also excellent I would like to complement RUBEN from room service who when he found out it was our anniversary and my husband called to get champagne delivered to our room he personally came up with the server to give us a coupon because of our anniversary. Also whenever we called for room service any day after that he always added a cheese platter or something a little extra and went above and beyond! He was awesome! Also DAVID always kept our refrigerator stocked with plenty of beer and water since we asked for extra dos XX and water he never forgot to add more throughout our stay! At the spa I have to say that PATY and REBECA gave the best couples massage we have ever received anywhere! It left us both falling asleep and so relaxed and we got the basic couples massage didn't even upgrade!!! ANGIE and BRENDA also gave us the best hand massages as we did the fish massage! Awesome spa!!! Only thing that was different from other resorts was they had one side for women and one for men to go to the sauna and jacuzzi so we couldn't experience that portion together. But it's not a big deal still was amazing. Last thing is the room upgrades. It was offered to us but only would be available the next day. However we were not able to get it due to someone was already there and we needed to wait to see if they were moving since they upgraded as well. But then they canceled leaving us in the same room. It wasn't a big deal since in the end we still loved our room but we didn't know that we were waiting for someone to leave so we had to wait at the resort, and couldn't leave the resort because we were waiting for the couple to see if they were moving. Long story short they should have an available room for upgrades instead of "maybe" you can upgrade your room. That's the only thing they did not tell us at check in that someone was already in that room. But in the end it worked out great because we loved how close we were to the lobby and how we could see all the nightly activities from our balcony at night. The room we would of got would of been ocean view room however it's so dark at night you can't even see the ocean. And plus we walked down 5th Ave almost every night! So safe plenty of cops and security and cameras everywhere so don't get scared to leave the resort it's steps away!!! I know sometimes there can be issues at places but I don't know how anyone could complain here since they always seemed to want to help and accommodate you. Ps I forgot the 2 men at the swing bar there drinks were always the best! Also tip your servers! They work hard! We always bring enough to tip and anything will make there day and you will remembered and get even better service. The Royal will treat you like Royal if you treat them with the same respect! Highly recommend

This is my 2nd visit to the Royal and it's still as amazing as ever. This year I brought 2 other couples who have heard boast about the Royal last year. When they arrived, they said that my description didn't do this place justice. They were amazed beyond belief on how well they were treated. Even though we received impeccable service our whole trip, our pool concierge, Yonathan, went above and beyond. He would see us at a restaurant or in the lobby and made sure we had everything we needed. When we went to Pelicanos for lunch, he introduced us to Marco M. who was so on top of everything.

First off I would like to say that, the resort it’s self is gorgeous! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We came to the Royal to celebrate my 30th birthday, 8 of us. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne and towels to cleanse with. Loved the first impression! The concierge told us about an upgrade option with a bigger suite fit for entertaining and a Butler option! My partner decided to surprise me with this upgrade naturally I was very excited to have this luxury service at the already all inclusive resort. Our butler escorted us to our room, he was very very nice. We told him we were expecting 6 others in our party. We asked for some liquor and mixers for our room. Which had a big kitchen and full size refrigerator. There were a couple mini bottles in the fridge, but we knew it wouldn’t be enough. We were told by the butler that he needed to check with manager about getting a full size bottle of liquor. Assuming there would be an extra charge for this bottle, according to the butler. He was able to get us a bottle of grey goose and mixers after a couple of failed attempts of room service bringing us 2 and 3 mini bottles. We were glad we got the bottle and everyone in our party had arrived so we were set. We began to plan for the next day, with our butler we were to have a cabana. So we requested one at the pool for the event that would be happening. We were told the butler could get a cabana at the beach but because it was an event it was $150 for the cabana. We opted to do this for my birthday “party” it came with the cabana, a bottle of champagne and 10 min chair massage. We enjoyed the cabana and the massage, actually booked for the 90min massage the following day. After much confusion with the cabana at the pool, we requested the cabana at the beach, and three bottles wine when we were down at the beach. The butler had the cabana reserved for us but told us that he had to check with manager about getting bottles at the beach. At this point, we were pretty pissed off, it seemed like we had to jump through hoops to get any sort of alcohol via our butler. Also really confused because all the other guest in the party had a FULL stocked bar in their rooms, with liter size bottles (see attached picture) The butler could sense our frustration and met us to talk. He explained (at this point last day of the trip) that the hotel had been bought out by another company. And the rules have changed that’s why he had to get clearance from his manger for every request. Meanwhile I walked up to the bar and had them fill my yeti cup that I brought with me with an entire BOTTLE of wine. So confused why they could give it to me but the butler couldn’t. Pretty Upset at this point, the upgrade for the butler seemed more of a hassle than a luxury. We did have a good time, the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The entertainment was AMAZING, and the activities kept us entertained. The hotel it’s self was very clean. And the bartenders and wait staff were awesome. Even our butler was very nice just didn’t see why we had him. Like it didn’t seem like he actually did anything for us. We got our cabana at the pool and wine that he couldn’t get. I would recommend this resort but I wouldn’t WASTE your money on butler service.
