This is the BEST place to go for genuine hospitality, fun and relaxation! At the pool, Karla and Juan take great care of you with drinks and entertainment. Yoshie was an excellent sushi rolling instructor and MC at night. Francisco taught us Spanish for our morning lesson. Regina held it down for casino night. Evelyne was stupendous for planning our excursions. Alberto is a must see for hibachi. I know I'm forgetting a few but we truly had a wonderful time, my mom said it was the best warm vacation EVER! Thank you so much to this incredible staff!

Just got back from quick trip to Mexico from Chicago. We are members of UVC and so have stayed at many of the AMI resorts. Capri was nice as smaller than many of the other properties and so more intimate. We liked that for a shorter stay. Staff just as attentive and helpful and offer most of the same restaurant choices. Beach area ok, I have heard it used to be better, but hey, sand and ocean and warm weather like any beach there, so it worked. One thing I was impressed with was the quality of entertainment each night - wasn't expecting that for a smaller property - actually was better than some of the 4 Diamond we've stayed at. Only con was that rooms are showing their age - mattress was past due to be replaced and shower was cool 2 days and no water pressure one day. But I would return - especially for a quick get away as resort not as overwhelming as some of the others.

This is our 2nd time to Cancun but 1st time to Secret Capri. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We booked our trip through our local travel agent via Vacation Express. This was our 1st Chartered trip and it will not be our last. For those of you not familiar with Chartered trips it just means that everyone on your flight is travelling from Point A to Point B however once you arrive to Point B you all go your separate ways to various hotels/resorts or wherever. Our transfer include only the two of us from Cancun Airport directly to the Secrets Capri. Upon arrival the check in process was seamless. As most reviewers shared the resort is small, the grounds are very well maintained and the décor in the resort has a Mediterranean style, very nice! The main lobby has huge turtle pool/pond which spans under the main staircase. This was cool to see the turtles and there is a specific day/time allocated to guests to feed them. One day one of those turtles got out of the pond and was making a b-line for the door, very funny! I think this pool/pond makes the lobby a little stinky but this is not that bad as they have great air fresheners pumping throughout the lobby area that helps camouflage the smell. Our room was not quite ready so we just rushed to the restrooms and changed into our swimsuits. We did run into the Secrets Sales team and they asked for a few minutes to talk about the opportunity to visit one of the other Secrets Resorts at some point during our stay. Thanks to the great write-ups from travelers on TripAdvisor which inform us that this was a sales pitch, we politely declined. Although some of what they were offering was enticing we just were not interested in wasting our vacation time talking to sales reps. Once we were able to check into our ocean view room located on the 4th floor we were very pleased with the gorgeous view of the pool and the beach. The room was a nice size and was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Toiletries included are shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion shower cap, bug spray and sunscreen. Did not like the shampoo, conditioner or the lotion, very cheap. We arrived on Easter Sunday and there was a pool party. The entertainment crew had the pool area decorated, foam in the pool and the "easter" bunnies were out. The Easter bunnies were dancers dressed in very skimpy outfits but it was all good. Not tasteless. The pool, well, as the other writers stated, the pool temperature is very cool and is in some need of major repair. Very slippery and floor tiles are missing. But, seriously, if you know all this you will be able to enjoy the pool as it was very refreshing and nice to swim in when the weather was hot. We did not hang out by the beach as we are not beach bunnies and it is small but nice to sit by when eating at the Cactus Club. The entertainment crew: Karla, Yolanda, Veri, Yoshi and Hector worked very hard to keep us entertained both during the day and at night. My husband and I participated in as much of the events as we seem to fit us. They were not pushy if you told them "not this time or no thank you". The evening entertainment was okay. I do hate when guest leave shows early, very disrespectful. The Desires club is suppose to be the nightclub and for the most part it is nice but we are used to a DJ playing good dance music. We did have this a couple of nights but it was hit or miss. The game room area is adjacent to the Desires club which includes billiards, ping pong, foosball, checkers, chess, jenga, darts this was fun! Food, omg, the food was sooooo good. We ate at all the restaurants and we loved them. For lunch venture out to the beach area to the Cactus Club for some Bajo Tacos from Toni the waiter. Also try the chicken wraps and Pico de Gallo & chips from waiter Rigoroberto....yummy! We have never ate a Hibachi (Japanese restaurant) and this was very entertaining plus the food was very good. We are not foodies but we have travelled to a number of resorts in the Caribbean and the food is probably in our top 2. Gentlemen have to wear collared shirts, trousers and closed toe shoes for the Hibachi and Portofino (Italian restaurant). Also, note if going to Hibachi, dress light as it gets hot. As Secrets is a full service resort you get 24 hr room service. We ordered breakfast our last morning there and it was so nice to just relax in your pajamas. Our server, Francisco, who has only been with Secrets 2 mths was very nice and offered to take our photo. This trip we did not partake in the "liquid sunshine" as much but when we did we enjoyed the drinks from the Lobby bar as they were a bit more "potent" and delicious, try the Caribbean Cruise. We had great waiter service from Oscar in the lobby, Orlando & Philomen in the pool area. Now unto the Spa, we try to do at least one couples massage on our trips. We booked our Swedish massage service through Fernando which also included the Hydrotherapy Circuit. Keep in mind the resort is always offering specials so NEVER pay full price. The hydrotherapy circuit was interesting. It included the following: sitting in the wet sauna, walking over rocks in warm water, walking through very cold water, shower jet massages on your back, dry sauna, hot tub and then at the very end you need to submerge your whole body in this ice cold pool....exhilarating!!. Then we were off for our couples massage. Our massage therapists were Claudia and Wendi. The spa service was okay. We played tennis a few times on the court next to the spa. The court is covered with astro turf/artificial grass but we were able to play some competitive tennis games. We are not pros but we have a good time. The spa and tennis court is about a 5 minute walk from the resort. For your spa service, you will get picked up and drop off so don't worry, no walking to spa. Wifi Service was actually quite good. Overall, we really enjoyed our trip to Secrets Capri. We like the quaintness and the fact that everything was housed in one building so when it rained it was nice you did not have to go out of the building. We also met some wonderful people and the staff were amazing!

Just returned from two weeks at Secrets Capri and we really loved our holiday. Chose this resort as it is small and same group as Dreams, which we had also thoroughly enjoyed. Whats good- The hotel, small resort, not overwhelming. We liked the traditional style. The grounds-not large amount of grounds, but nicely kept and lots of wildlife to see. The Staff- great people, so attentive. All worked hard to make a great holiday. Waiting staff; restaurant staff, bar and entertainment staff looked after us very well. And our room was beautifully clean, we had the turn down service and had rose petals and chocolates on our bed each evening. Entertainment- We particularly enjoyed all the live music near the pool and in the lobby each day. The food -good choice of restaurants, our favourite was the Seaside Grill where the outside tables have great views and the food was delicious. Portofino was good too and there was an Oriental restaurant where the food was fab but it gets a rather smoky atmosphere from the cooking. The buffet was good too, with plenty of choice. Drinks-Cocktails are varied and lovely. The bar staff in the pool bar and Desires run the place like a well oiled machine! Fab margaritas. The room- our room was amazing, we had an Ocean Front suite on a corner so it had a big balcony which got the sun all day. It was very close to the ocean and had a view of the sunrise. We were on the North side which is quieter. It was well worth the upgrade. So relaxing. We slept well as the bed was very comfortable and there was little noise from other rooms. Whats not so good- The beach-beach is eroded and there can be a lot of seaweed, although site staff work hard to clear it. However from what we saw it is probably the best beach in the immediate area and we did have a couple of lovely seaweed free days when swimming conditions were great. If you want a beach type hol- maybe look more closely. Hotel and grounds- nice as we found them are in need of TLC in places and look a bit tired. The hard sell- personally I don't want to be pestered by sales pitches on holiday. I avoided the welcoming breakfast because of this but got caught in the lobby one day with the pitch to go and see another hotel. If you might enjoy the incentives, like a spa treatment, its worth it. If like me you don't want it, avoid the breakfast.

Spent a week at the Secrets and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Outstanding service, great food and immaculate rooms. We were there for honeymoon and were very well looked after. Our room had both ocean and pool view as it was near the end of the block. We also watched the poolside shows from there some nights. We dined at all but one of the restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the teppenyaki table in Himitsu - defo a highlight of the whole holiday! The seafood restaurant was wonderful. We ate in the beachfront restaurants a few times for lunch, great burgers! The buffet restaurant had an amazing selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A comprehensive entertainment programme meant that there was plenty for all tastes both daytime and evening. Very high quality shows - we saw the Mexican, il divo tribute and the dance show. All were fantastic. The pool and beach were lovely, regular waiter service meant you don't need to move a muscle! Live music in the afternoons by the pool and great cocktails. We had a morning in the spa, massages and a facial with use of the hydrotherapy area. It was so wonderful! Helpful hints for first time visitors: - The VIP sales people will pounce as soon as you finish check in - we were firm and said no thank you - travelled through the night in economy with no meal service - zero sleep or tolerance for the heavy sales pitch! Yet they persisted and got my husbands nasty side... - They will try to upsell the romantic dinners, bottles of wine etc but thats just business I guess. Saying no thank you sent them on their way but it was tiresome when we were relaxing by the pool etc. - They have an American tipping system despite the the welcome booklet saying gratuities included. A couple of dollars at mealtimes and a few for the drinks waiters per day was recommended to us.
