We enjoyed our vacation with another couple. Great pool concierge Edy and others while he was on vacation. Our concierge Brandon watched over us and provided over the top hospitality! The Entertainment staff was great. Isabel directed stretching in the morning and water weight at t pool. She took us at our level! Our bike tour with Fritz and Oscar was not to be missed! Very informative! Oscar worked us out at the pool! We missed the theater and do not like long pant requirements. The new Preferred Lounge is beautiful and the bar tender is great! We liked Margarita at the Preferred Breakfast Restaurant! Room Service is fast and the box is nice!

My husband and I visited Secrets Maroma last week to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We booked through Costco Travel and had an easy transfer from the airport to the resort. We were offered a glass of champagne upon arrival and check in was easy. After check in we were sat down for the sales pitch. It lasted about 10 minutes and he did take our no for breakfast and was not super forceful, which we appreciated. We booked a preferred swim out room and were in building 26. Our room was beautiful and spotless. We did enjoy our swim out pool, however, it was pretty shady, so we would sometimes end up there if we had too much sun at the big pool. If we were to book again, we wouldn't book preferred. For us, there were little to no perks as we don't need top shelf alcohol and the preferred beach area is no different than the "regular" beach area. We didn't meet our concierge (Bramdon) until the 3rd day and that meeting only happened because a fellow traveler sent him a message to come and introduce himself to us. I'm not sure if concierge is a preferred perk, but we had so little contact with him that it didn't improve our experience. The food was delicious and the restaurants are updated and beautiful. Our favourite restaurant was the Italian but we didn't love the dinner Seaside Grill or Japanese. The breakfast buffet was great and we often went to the beach tent for the lunch Seaside Grill. The service we received from all of the servers and pool staff was exceptional- a highlight of our trip. We really enjoyed Jesica at the lobby bar (try her Irish coffee!) and loved Coco Cafe (try the Coco Cafe specialty coffee). The beach was amazing, water aqua blue and white sand. The staff works tirelessly to keep the seaweed cleaned up. The pool was also great and we spent our days lounging on the chairs or floating in the infinity pool. All things considered, this is truly a 5 star resort and we enjoyed every moment. We hope to be back again!

Well well worth the money! Simply beautiful and very well taken care of. The staff were truly amazing- all food and beverages were delicious and as much as one could eat or drink. Highly recommend!!

We stayed at Secrets Maroma for seven nights in October. We stayed with another couple, and family for a wedding anniversary. This is the second time we have stayed at this resort. This is an absolutely beautiful resort. When you enter the facility, the entrance lobby and bar are stunning. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff was excellent! Bartenders, servers, housekeeping, event staff, front desk, concierge, etc. All took the time to say Hola at every passing, always with a friendly smile. The resort presents some of the best staff at any resort we have ever stayed (and we travel several times a year). Many staff members remembered our names and addressed us by name throughout the week. We had excellent meals at all the restaurants, the French and Teppanyaki were our favorites. The filet at the French is melt in your mouth delicious. The cook/server at the Teppanyaki was excellent and put on a fun show. Although the resort says "resort casual" is fine for all the restaurants, that means you can sit on the patio if you have shorts on. To sit inside, you must have long pants. Which is fine, just a little misleading on the website. The lunch buffet and breakfast provided numerous options each day as well. There are several renovations currently going on at the resort. The event ballroom has been scaled down, and one main restaurant/bar by the main pool was currently being renovated. This time of year, the mosquitoes are out in force. The resort provides bug spray, but I would highly encourage bringing your own. The beach is one of the best in the world. The sand is so fine and never hot. The ocean water is warmer than usual right now, and the bar staff down by the beach were excellent. We did some scuba dives with Dressel Divers. We have dove with Dressel multiple times over the years at various destinations. This was one of the most disappointing issues on the trip. We are advanced divers and had just completed four dives in Cozumel. We did a two-tank dive, and they only brought one tank for everyone. We had to go back to the shop after the first dive, even though there was plenty of room on the boat for the second tanks. This was the first two-tank dive we have ever done where some form of snack was not provided between dives. Usually, fruit, candy, sandwiches are always provided. They also did not have bottled water or disposable cups. We used plastic cups, that were shared between the divers. We are not germaphobes, but this did not come across as very sanitary. The dives were around 35'-40', and the visibility was poor. I am very aware the dive staff does not control the visibility, but we were curious as to why we did not go a little deeper to hopefully run into better visibility. We use TripGuy for our travel plans, and Lomas for the transfers. Lomas has always been an excellent service, with very friendly drivers. Anyone looking for feedback, input, or assistance with future travel plans, I would highly recommend TripGuy. Mitch and the crew were always quick to respond to any questions or assistance with our needs. Prior to and during the trip they were able to help with transfers, and questions. We played golf at El Camaleon at Mayakoba. We have previously played at Iberostar Playa Paraiso several times. This golf course is just as stunning. The staff went out of their way to help in any way, and it was a great experience. We rented clubs and they were in excellent shape (PXG). They do not give you golf balls, so bring some (extra) with you. The course is challenging, and if you get off the fairway, the rough is not friendly. If you miss the rough and fairway, you will not find your ball. This is not a cheap course, but it was a great experience and worth the price. We received a discount due to staying at Secrets Maroma, so check if the resort you stay at offers the same. The restaurant and pro shop are littered with amazing pictures of professional golfers, signed tour bags, and other very cool experiences for golfers. The mosquitos are out in force, so spray up. We travel to several all-inclusive resorts each year, and this one is in the top 5. The resort and grounds are kept immaculate, and the staff/service is first class!
