Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Great experience as always. One of the best hotels in Cancun hands down. Food and staff are exceptional. I have been here about 4 times and it never lets me down. This time took a group of 12 to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. They had an amazing time and even though construction goes on all day and some parts are blocked off, it did not affect our stay. So 5 stars all around. Only 2 negatives. the first one is the pickle ball...the actual pickle ball floor or whatever you call it is awful. It's plastic and not concrete so there are many many dead spots and the ball doesn't bounce. We ended up playing with tennis balls instead. And the second one...well I had not been to a resort in Mexico in over 4 years so I had no clue that smoking a cigar on the beach with no one around was against the law. I just didn't know. So I sat on the beach away from everyone and lit my cigar as I did before in the past. Shortly after a beach attendant walked up and told me I could not smoke a cigar on the beach (mind you I had no idea this was against the law, I did not know that Mexico now has to strictest smoking laws in the world). So I thought it was a hotel rule and I was upset. Had the staff member told me "Sir I am sorry but Mexico's new law does not allow smoking anywhere in public" I would have been like oh ok...I didn't know and that would have been it, I would have asked some questions and that's it, no big deal. I only smoke a cigar when I go on vacation, I don't consider myself a smoker. The hotel does have designated smoking areas inside the resort but that defeats the purpose of smoking a cigar. So I wish they had a small section on the beach to smoke and not hiding inside the resort. But again this was not a deal breaker. It is an amazing hotel with the best staff in Cancun. AAAAA+++++

The resort was great, awesome service from the staff. My concierge Roberto was great as well, always great to run into him and chat, he would always keep us updated and help me and my fiancée out whenever we needed it.

The hotel was beautiful, we stayed in one of the rooms with concierge and sea view. Building 25, our concierge Roberto helped us with everything and thanks to his help our stayed was flawless . The attention to detail and the atmosphere of the hotel made it so special we loved the food, the service in each Restaurant, and we can’t wait to go back again.

Everything about this trip was five star!!! The food and service were outstanding. Everyone on the staff was so friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the sargassum, but even then they did everything possible to keep the beach clean. And we were just as happy at the pool with all the amenities minus the sand. Activities were fun and we met some wonderful people along the way. If I could give it 11/10, I would!
