We had a really great stay at Secrets Maroma and overall a very positive experience. The hotel itself is a bit dated in parts, but it’s extremely well maintained and everything is in very good condition. The rooms were excellent—spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which made it easy to fully relax. What truly stood out was the service. It was absolutely amazing throughout our entire stay. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special mention to Hector, who was incredibly helpful and made a real difference in our experience. The pool area is huge and offers plenty of space, and the beach is stunning—beautiful white sand just as you would imagine. There are lots of activities during the day, which is great, although at times the music from different activities overlapped around the pool area, which could be a bit distracting. In the evenings, the shows and bar atmosphere felt a little old-fashioned and occasionally slightly low-budget (e.g. karaoke). It didn’t quite match the otherwise high level of the resort, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. Food quality was good across the board, though not particularly outstanding or memorable. The French restaurant, in particular, was a bit of a disappointment compared to expectations. The only real downside was the seaweed, but the hotel did a very good job trying to manage it and continuously clean the beach, which we appreciated. All in all, we had a great stay and felt very well taken care of. It’s definitely a place we would consider coming back to in the future.

Everything was so amazing. Definitely exceeded my expectations! We are so glad we chose this resort for our honeymoon. I would highly recommend the Preferred Honeymoon suite. Had our own private pool and also a huge room to relax and enjoy.

If you are looking for a 5 star service experience, choose Secrets Maroma Beach. I last stayed at this resort in 2020, and I can say the preferred club upgrades are spectacular. From the preferred club breakfast at Seaside to the preferred club beach bar, restaurant and lounge, all made our stay relaxing and festive. Our concierge in Building 27, Bramdon, took extra care from our original check in by asking us for all of our preferences during our stay. Nothing could be better than having the breakfast items delivered to our room's portal cabinet each morning before sunrise so we could peacefully enjoy sunrise with coffee and tea on our beachfront deck. Bramdon checked in with me every morning to make sure my expectations were being exceeded and not just met! Our UVC concierge team of Zayda & Luis also reached out with information on daily activities and amenities they didn't want me to miss. I can't say enough about the service and team at Secrets Maroma Beach. I cannot wait to go back for a longer stay!

Secrets Maroma is a 5 Star resort and should be on your must stay list if traveling to Riviera Cancun. All-inclusive done right: no children, multiple dining options, great staff and top room accommodations.

We stayed 10 nights at the Secrets Maroma Beach. Arrival We arrived around 10:30am there was only 1 desk open. We started checking in and were given a cold towel and sparkling wine. Check in was nice, but the guy had to keep excusing himself to deal with other guests with issues. As you leave reception a team try and grab you to give you a "tour". We managed to avoid this, but saw plenty of people getting taken around. There were 5 or 6 of these staff just standing around, but only 1 guy on check in. Room The room was very modern. We were in Superior Sea View room (1543). It was supposed to be Sea View, but half of the view to the left was blocked by the adjoining building. Also there are palm trees in between you and the sea and the leaves block some of the view as does the tall thatched chimney of the beach grill. We were told by Marco our building concierge that the law says you cannot cut down the palm trees, but obviously he said they will grow taller and thus the leaves will not block the view. We were dubious as to whether this was a Full Seaview room to be honest, but the blocks nearer the beach were for Privileged / Hyatt Vacation Club guests who get extra benefits (for a higher price). The room had a Nespresso machine,Modern TV, Large bathroom with Jet tub. Toiletries wise it skimped a bit. No Razors, toothbrushes, loofers. Just a vanity kit. There was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and body cream and soap. There were nice bathrobes and some slippers. The room had some decent features. There is a step down as you head to the desk / sofa and balcony area of the room. A sensor makes the light come on, but it kept going off in the night so we turned it off. There are also movement sensors and a dim Red light illuminates to give a bit of light as you get out of bed and another as you enter the bathroom which was good. But there was a flashing green light from the overhead smoke detector that flashes every few seconds. The bathroom had a wall of electronic candles. There was plenty of water, beer, soft drinks and snacks + 24 hour room service. The Pool /Beach There are two sections to the curved pools. The first hosts the swim up bar. The second is nearer the beach. We preferred the one near the beach at the bar end as it was much quieter than the noisy swim up bar. There was a lot of reserving of beds. There are pool concierges who look after you and take a note of your room number and put it on their map. In theory they give you 45 minutes grace before you are evicted. But I saw people reserving at 7am and by 9am they were not there. I told the pool concierge and he thanked me for "Bringing it to his attention" but did nothing. The couple pitched up to their front row beds at 10am !!!. We did see a few evictions, but not until all the beds had gone and people were looking for beds. That said the pool concierges were always pleasant and helpful. The beach did have seaweed, the staff worked hard to clear it, it got swept every day including Sunday, but on the Sunday the piles of swept up seaweed were left on the beach. The loungers on the beach are metal/plastic with thin cushions and the shade is fixed thatch. The pool chairs are much nicer. There are a lot of activities around the two pools, but there are quieter areas. They brought a cart with ice cream in the afternoon and fruit on sticks. Food & Drink For the most part the food and drinks were good, but we did have cause to make a few complaints. I got a lasagne in the Italian and it was cold in centre. We had 3 bad experiences at the beach grill. 1) The waiter never asked how we wanted our meat cooked, then went AWOL. He was standing near the entrance looking at people coming and going, never offered more drinks, had cleared my wife's half drunk cocktail when we had asked him to leave it on the table. 2) We went in for lunch. We were given a plate of nachos and after 40 minutes our starters had not arrived, but others who had arrived after us had food. The waiter went to check and brought out the starters and said my main course was ready. I did not want my burger when I had not had my shrimp tacos. The starters came, my wifes fish tacos were not cooked. Meanwhile they brought her main course. She sent her starter back, meanwhile I am trying to stall and eat slowly. In the end she gave up,.her chicken salad did not look very appetising. My burger was luke warm as it had probably been sat on the servery. I ate half and we left. We went one evening in between and the service and food were great. So we decided to go there on our final night as there was also a Mexican show by the pool. Again we ran into problems. My wife ordered Sirloin and I a Sirloin and shrimps. I get the Sirloin - My wife gets a rib eye steak!. At the French on our first time it was excellent. My wife had the duck. So we went back for our Anniversary meal. The next table had the duck, which looked like my wife's had done. When ours arrived it was covered in sauce with no skin on, just grey meat sliced into 3 pieces vs the 1 strip with lovely rendered crisp skin. We called the waiter over who offered to change it. He bought 2 fresh dishes which looked like the photo we had taken the first night. We then had the chef, head food concierge, waiter and manager all around our table asking for feedback. They said the supplier had changed, yet the next table and our 2nd offering were identical! The only other issue was the truck near the beach. They pre cook breaded fish and then make wraps, tacos etc. The guy starts heating the bread bun for a fish sandwich, then puts a bit of the pre cooked fish in the bun, and then serves it after a couple of minutes. But the bread has insulted the fish, so you guessed. It is cold. I must point out that my wife still works in the food industry and I used to work in hotel management. So food hygiene and temperature is very important to us. Annoying as these incidents were,it did not detract from the overall positive experience of the Speciality restaurants. We never made it to the Fish Restaurant or Mediterranean. We got to meet the food concierge a few times during our stay as they seemed to be summoned for issues. The breakfast buffet was very good. There was plenty of choice around the pool. The Beach grill for more formal, a pop up buffet with fresh grilled bbq meats and paella, a pizza bar and a grill doing burgers, wraps etc etc Alcohol wise no issues. Happy with the offerings. The reception bar eas good. The staff on the bars and pool waiters were solid. But by far the best experience was the coffee shop. Great coffee and pastries, snacks, Yoghurt etc and great staff. Entertainment There was plenty going on, although the show program repeats every week, so if you are staying more than 7 days you will have to either see the same show again or find alternative arrangements. They had some nice bands in the evenings at various outdoor locations and pianos in the bar. There was a full daytime entertainment schedule, but it did not always suit our schedule. Aqua was always at 12 - 1 which for us is lunch time. Pool volley ball at 4 clashed with archery (which was not on every day). So you can't be in two places at once. We had 1 1/2 rainy days March 13 - March 23. Overall The staff are the best bit of the hotel. Make sure you bring plenty of $$$ for tipping as most people seem to tip Non stop. It tries to be 5 Star but is let down by consistency issues with the food. The chefs on the pass need to make sure that dishes going out are the same day in day out. Have photos on the wall for Junior staff to reference. Food needs to be probed, or randomly check dishes to make sure they are cooked through. But it was a nice hotel. It is nice to dress up at night and go for a nice drink - and for the most part lovely meal. I have given it a 4 but in reality it deserves a 4.5 Being an adult only we would definitely consider returning. Lastly a shout out to some of the staff Pool Waiters Alberto Marvin Pool Concierge Eddy Block 15 Concierge Marco Entertainment Staff Omar Daniel They and others made it a fun experience.
