Reviews for Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun
I was torn between a 4 or 5 star rating. Cons: Don't bother getting a partial ocean view, we moved 3 times before we had one. They either need to cut the height down of the trees or stop asking you to pay more and call it a resort view. Most of the weight machines at gym were in disrepair. Some of the food was not good, mainly the beach side grill and restaurant. We had to wait one hour to be seated at the Asian restaurant and two hours before we got our food which was unremarkable. Pros: Pretty resort with great customer service. They had high end liquor. The weather was not the best, but the entertainment staff was amazing. Events we liked were the pool form party, fire show, lobby entertainment and concert on the beach. We enjoyed the coffee shop, buffet restaurant, and the Mexican, Italian and French restaurants. We would go back.

This resort was exceptional! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Very quiet resort so if you are wanting more of a party atmosphere, you may be disappointed. The shows were excellent and the entertainment staff was great!

We spent 5 days in Secrets Maroma and really enjoyed it despite the weather not being super hot and sunny. We would definitely go back in the future. Some standout elements of this resort are: -The beach has white sand, clear blue water and is pristine. Just be aware it gets colder and windier at the beach than other parts of the resort. -Unlimited towels for the beach and pool -The service was phenomenal; all the servers were super sweet and greeted us with a smile and "it's a pleasure" when we thanked them. They seemed to genuinely want to be there and to enjoy interacting with the guests. We did tip about 20-50 pesos per interaction though so be aware of that (Total of $80 USD for the week) -The resort had lots of activities during the day like beach volleyball, water aerobics, water basketball, dance classes, mini golf. Their activities at night exceeded our expectations with cirque du soleil style gymnasts, professional dancers, magicians, fire shows etc. -The drinks offered were varied, delicious, and they did not skimp on the alcohol! -The grounds are peaceful, clean and not too crowded, giving a general feeling of calm and relaxation throughout. -Our room was beautiful, newly renovated. Loved the touches of island style decoration, rainforest shower, jacuzzi in the room (some had jacuzzi on their balconies!), and little touches like having light sensors near steps for nighttime. -Room service food was surprisingly delicious and the room came with a Nespresso machine which is better than the typical coffee maker. -We went golfing for a day to the El Tinto golf course; it was beautiful and the Secrets resort subsidizes the fees which is great. -We appreciated not having to book dinner places ahead of time except for Hibachi. -Guests at the resort were very friendly. The few slight downsides or things to note at this resort were: -The food, which was a bit Hit or Miss but still quite good overall. For dinner the best restaurant was El Patio the Mexican restaurant. At the French restaurant we enjoyed the appetizers like escargot and beef tartar. At the Italian restaurant we loved the squid ink pasta. At the Hibachi (which you have to book ahead of time) we enjoyed the fried rice and seared shrimp but not the steak. For lunch there was a buffet which was just ok. There was also a Seaside grill that made fresh whole fish which was delicious, and a pizza place which we didn't try but others recommended. In general I would recommend the seafood and Mexican food at this resort. -It was very crowded at the pool area, maybe because of the windiness of the beach. So it was hard to find beds to sit on at the pool unless you went early. -For younger couples, be aware that majority of the clientele tended to be a little older (40+). Not a problem for us but something to be aware of. -We had a "partial oceanview" room which did not have a partial view of the ocean. We were on level 2. iI you want an ocean view, make sure you ask for a higher level if partial, or get a full oceanview room.

Sorry late to the Game, Stood in 2014 for a Wedding and this is by far the best All- inclusive resort I have stayed at. From the hospitality from the staff to the on site amenities, the IN ROOM DINING was VERY GOOD (ribeye, shrimp cocktail and Fanta orange every night). Too long ago to remember names but still sits in my mind as i just recently visited another all inclusive and wasn't exactly up to the standards although still very nice.
