Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Everything was just perfect. Angel the concierge was absolutely fantastic and very attentive. Seamless checking in and out. Clean and very comfortable environment across the entire resort.

Our stay at Secrets Maroma Beach Cancun was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and set on one of the most breathtaking beaches we’ve ever seen. The food exceeded expectations at every restaurant, and the service throughout the property was consistently top-notch. What truly made our experience unforgettable, though, was our concierge, Angel. He went above and beyond in every way possible—always attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. From helping us with reservations to checking in on us daily and making thoughtful recommendations, Angel made everything seamless and stress-free. His level of care and professionalism is rare, and it did not go unnoticed. If you’re considering a trip here, do it—you won’t regret it. And if you’re lucky enough to have Angel as your concierge, you’re in the best hands possible. We’re already dreaming about coming back!

We stayed at Secrets Maroma Beach with high expectations, driven by its reputation and marketing, particularly around its pristine beaches. In reality, this did not match our experience. There were consistently high levels of seaweed across multiple days, significantly affecting both the appearance and usability of the beach and water. While we understand this is a natural, seasonal issue, the extent of it was not communicated at the time of booking. For a resort where the beach is a central selling point, this had a clear impact on the overall value of the stay. The hotel is clearly aware of the situation, as it is actively tracked. On mornings when the beach appeared clear, there was no visible cleaning effort, yet on a day when conditions were worse, several trucks were deployed. Despite this, there was no transparent communication. Instead, the position taken was that the hotel does not take responsibility for beach conditions, while continuing to promote the beach as a key feature. What made this more frustrating was how it was handled on the ground. The concierge team was poor, and communication focused on isolated improvements, such as pointing out better areas or sharing photos when conditions briefly improved, rather than acknowledging the consistent nature of the issue. There were also several additional problems. The food was mediocre at best and, at its worst, left us feeling unwell. The service felt rigid, with frequent waits for à la carte restaurants in the evenings and enforced dress codes when we simply wanted a more flexible dining option. We also experienced issues with the air conditioning in our room, and even basic arrangements, such as access to a hospitality room at checkout, involved delays. Overall, the experience did not reflect the price paid. I am not sure what “Unlimited Luxury” is intended to mean for Secrets, but based on the level of customer service we experienced, I would not consider staying with the brand again.

This hotel is fantastic and the groups are impeccably maintained. The service throughout the entire Resort is astounding and the food quality and options are endless. I would definitely recommend this Hotel and look forward to returning.
