Loved it!!!

We only spent 3 nights there, we certainly could have stayed longer. I was not ready to go home. The staff was warm and friendly, always a smile and a hola. I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed. The seaweed was an issue, certain times of the day you could smell it from the pool area. If you're coming for the beach skip the summer. We didn't mind hanging at the pool the whole time. We did the bike tour, lots of fun, all that drinking and eating it felt good to get some exercise. When we were there we were planning our next trip. I highly recommend.

Great 5-day stay in Secrets Maroma Beach

Secrets Maroma Beach is an incredible resort with truly exceptional service, especially from concierge Francia, who has been very kind and helpful. We initially started in a room with an obstructed view, but the staff went above and beyond to move us to a top-floor room in Building 24, and the panoramic ocean view from the balcony is breathtaking. Highly recommend for couples looking for a wonderful getaway!

Another Beautiful stay

This is our heaven on earth. We visited secrets maroma for the 3rd time in July. Our first visit was 16 years ago and while the vibes have shifted a little from our first visit we found a great balance between fun lively activity and romance. It seems to be a great option for families with adult children, couple friend group, and honeymooner/anniversary trips. The rooms were modern and clean. We had building close to the beach and while the resort feels big visually, everything was just minutes by walk and it was always a beautiful walk. The service was phenomenal. The staff were so kind, gracious, and pleased to make your stay that of dreams. From our first encounter with bell services, Jesus, was such a cheerful face. He also helped us with our departure and was so patient as we were running behind. Our concierge, Brandon, learned our names and faces immediately and greeted us daily checking in to see if we had any unmet needs or if there was anything he could do for us. He was efficient and helpful, and so friendly. Juan and Arturo at the preferred restaurant bar made me frose from a recipe I shared with them. I know it was inconvenient to make something special for me and I was so appreciative of their willingness to accommodate. Marco served us daily at the pool and we never had empty hands! Pricilla and Freddy were a couple of standouts in the restaurants as well! The food was great. There are many options to choose from and with the themed night celebrations added in, we still didn’t make it to all of the restaurants in our trip. The coffee shop is a must do for morning lattes poolside overlooking the ocean and a sweet treat in the evening. It’s 24 hours which was a blessing. The nightly entertainment was really fun and an impressive orchestration. The Rock show was our favorite. There were also several options going at all times for World Cup viewing. We upgraded to preferred club on our second night. Aside from access to a couple of different lounges, I did not see the value there. Perhaps if the beach/ocean had been more accessible (heavy seaweed bloom rolling in) we would have enjoyed the preferred beach area. Overall we had a lovely stay and will be back!!

Best service ever. Stayed on building 16 with preferred club. Rooms were on point. Very good bang for my buck!

Big cost, very nice beach area, good pool, decent food, okay service.

While the resort is beautiful, I find it hard to believe people are trying to decide between here and Akumal. It's a no brainer Akumal is all 9/10s but I did have high hopes for Maroma because of all the rave reviews. It sadly lands in the 7s range in my opinion. Right now it would be considered very over priced for what you get. I excepted Secrets level class... coconut drinks around the pool, concierge checking on you all day by the pool, fresh fruit passed out, ice cream delivered to your pool chair etc. It misses the mark pushing it into the super luxury category like Akumal. The food and service at the buffet in the morning is wonderful, though a smaller buffet for the size of the resort for sure. Lunch has tons of great pool side options, this is where they did do really good with options and good food. Dinner was lacking the food was good, not great, tiny portions and not just tiny compared to the U.S, I'm talking 5 smalls ravioli for a meal for my husband small. Also had a wait for about 20 mins, not horrible but again for just a large resorts the restaurant space is SO small. Room service was okay, lacking flavor but still good. The beach is not great this time of year, they can't control that so we weren't bummed ir anything about that. The construction noise is okay, it was only during the day and they mostly drown it out with music. I truly hope that is a big pool they are building but the resort was not full but the 2 pools were always slammed. Another pool is definitely needed. Lastly, we only came to this one because we had a promotion, the price per night is shocking based on what you get. We listened to the UVC sales pitch, it was fine. For some people I'm sure it works for them. The one thing I didnt like and thought was a little too far with the over the top sales pitches and the pushy sales tactics, was after the 3rd or 4th no with 2 different people, the last guy brought over was insanely rude, and frankly off putting with how disrespectful he was being. I told him we had some life things come up, very expensive issues that had recently come about and it wouldnt be financial smart for my family now as we just acquired a new debt due to a car break in and a new AC unit required, he didn't care one bit. Which in fairness is fine, but when I say in a few years I'll reconsidering the package because I'll have those items paid off and you rudely say, "no you can't come back after this, I wont waste my time" or "your lying, your gonna still travel for the next two years" or "your gonna hate your life watch TV in your house everyday for 2 years", that is crossing the line and honest a gross way to talk to other humans. Just mentally prepare, they will be super nice and check on you until you say no, it was like a light switched. Dr Jackle and Mr. Hyde situation. I've been to Secrets, Dreams, Zivas and Zilaras, this was the first one where the customer was kind if lacking, not everyone, there were still great people but very different from the usual Secrets level of service. The room service and the pool servers were the ones who were exceptional.
