Reviews for Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun
"Welcome home" was the warm greeting received as soon as we walked through the entrance of Secrets Maroma. From there, the positive energy and experience never ceased. All staff were incredibly friendly, thoughtful and FUN! We made several native friends! Wish we could remember all the names. By far, our favorite was Wilberth. Although busy, he took time to get to know us and us him. We felt he became a part of our family! Additionally, the fruit, food and juices were amazingly deliciously! Quality food, service and fun! We look forward to scheduling our next trip in May 2018! Thank you all at Secrets Maroma for making my first trip out of the country- one that I will never forget! Carmen
This was our 2nd time at Secrets Maroma! In fact, last year I won the Minute to Win it contest they held on site, so we enjoyed a (semi) free vacation at Secrets Maroma. However, even if I din't win the (semi) free vacation we would have went back in a heart beat. Service is impeccable. Food is excellent, and the restaurants are extremely impressive. Everyone smiles and greets you. The entertainment crew are exceptional. Walking to the beach you are greeted by the staff who finds you a place to sit. Service is truly their strong suit. We've been to a dozen All Inclusive's. This one tops them all. Those who complain about the timeshare, in all fairness, have the option to just say 'Not Interested' when asked and that's it. No pressure. They will not even approach you.

We recently came back from Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun and it is by far below the standards my partner and I had experienced in previous visits to Secrets The Vine and Secrets Akumal. I understand this hotel is kind of "the jewel" of the Secrets (Five Stars - Five Diamonds) but I don't think it deserves that category right now. The facility: It has had better days. It is still a beautiful place but in need of reconstruction and renovations. They have actually started to do so, since the hotel furniture, the fountains and certain areas show signs of aging and deterioration. Manicured gardens surround the hotel and the local fauna is an interesting attraction to guests. I visited the gym and it was small but OK. There is a Spa but we never used this service. The beach: Maroma Beach is spectacular! During our stay the weather conditions were unstable and some seaweed was on the beach but the hotel tried to keep the beach clean and in the best possible shape. Beach beds are available for rent at $50 from 8 to 5. It is worth to rent them but hurry because they get all booked easily. The room: We had an Ocean View Junior Suite. It was dated but it had the basic needs covered for a 5 star hotel. The room maid did not do a good job at cleaning. We requested to have the room done by 10:00 am and it just happened the first day; however, our requests of extra towels and sparkling water only were always fulfilled. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary a bottle of Champagne and fruits was a complementary detail we really appreciated as well as the ribbon at the door. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and the bed linen was acceptable. The food: We only visited the French restaurant and the Italian restaurant, although there are other options for Mexican, Asian and Sea Food restaurants. The French restaurant is the best option and we went there twice. Sometimes there is waiting time for some restaurants and you need to make a reservation for the Asian restaurant, which I was surprised to learn because it is not the norm at any Secret Hotel we have strayed at. The buffet is poor in options when compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Mexico. I enjoyed the Mexican food options available but in general the buffet does not stand out for the quality and diversity of the food. Entertainment: Several activities are planned for the day to keep guests entertained. You are informed by a newsletter delivered to your room the previous night. Night entertainment is not bad, but do not expect much excitement. The Mexican Night was interesting and probably the best show they offered as per our consideration. Staff: I just have to say that the staff is amazing. They are very professional and do their best to please you. This is something I love about Mexico: people are exceptional! Anything that could have gone wrong is forgotten just because of the staff competence and willingness to make you feel special. I have to mention Miguel, the Building Concierge and Alejandro, the Beach Concierge, who were so nice and accommodating. Janet, the Wine Concierge, and Perla were also very professional and friendly. Israel and his colleagues were very attentive to our needs at the beach. I am really happy to have met them and very grateful for their incredible commitment to their jobs. On a separate note I just want to warn anybody planning to go to the hotel about the Loyalty Marketing team who will approach you at your arrival and will try to do their best to make you sign for the program. Please, be aware that they will take at least 3 hours of your precious vacation time. It was an annoying experience for us since it is hard for them to take "no" for an answer. I feel this is not fair to the guests and Secrets Hotels should look for a different approach. Overall, visiting Secrets Maroma Beach was a good experience, but we will wait for a while before coming back. In the meantime, we plan to experience other luxury "adults only" options available in the market.

play in the restaurants music of the country it self: italian restaurant =italian music, frenche restaurant =frenche music .... more seats for people who smoke special thanks to Lucas the weither from the beach: great service and the concierge from room 1230
Overall the resort is good. I have been to 6 other Secrets Resorts. They say this one is the best, but not in my opinion. The food is excellent and the best of any I have been to. The Entertainment team is not as out going and fun as other Secrets. Christina on the Entertainment Team was very good though. Bramdon at the pool and beach Concierge was the best employee there!!! The showers in the rooms are not as big as the newer resorts. They are remodeling right now, so I think there will be some changes. The building Concierge was not good at all. She barely spoke English, which in that job you need to be good at it. Bramdon would be much better at this job than her. We thought this was our favorite so went back after 4 years to see and it really is not our favorite. They get voted for the top 5 best beach and it really is not anything special. Although beautiful Secrets Punta Cana beach blows this one out of the water. For the price of this resort it is not worth the money. I can get same service and a nicer beach and room for less money at other Secrets.
