Can't wait to come back to Secrets Maroma Beach!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

We were a family of 3 couples celebrating a wedding anniversary and birthday. The property exceeded our expectations. The beach was great, the food and the variety was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the many activities (something for everyone), the spa, the fitness center. What really stood out was the excellent service and friendliness of staff. We highly recommend Maroma Beach and can't wait to come back.

We would give this resort 6/5 Stars if we could, as it surpassed and exceeded any expectation that we had. If you want to be pampered, experience authentic hospitality with a genuine and heartfelt "It's my pleasure" at the end of every staff encounter, look no further... you've found your next holiday hot spot. Grounds are immaculate, food was top tier but it's the hardworking employees that boost this stay over most resorts we've been to. We are repeat offenders of Mexico but the gems working at Maroma are truly a standout stellar bunch. We traveled with a group of 11 for our 15 year wedding anniversary and chose a new Secrets to celebrate and renew our vows. Per usual, México you owe us nothing; magical Maroma guaranteed this and did not disappoint. It goes without saying that our coordinator, Rifkele, facilitated an enchanted fairytale experience for our vow renewal that left our entire family with memories that we will treasure for a lifetime. Her attention to detail, constant communication and due diligence made the entire process absolutely seamless. All of our guests were blown away by the beauty of the resort, vow renewal décor and are still speaking so fondly of their stay. Spa was also phenomenal! Special shout out to Hugo who had memorized 11 guests names in 5 minutes and kept the laughs and personalized gestures going the entire time. To the higher ups at Maroma, keep hiring rock star talent like this and we will keep coming back.

Wonderful second trip to Secrets Maroma Beach!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

We had a wonderful second trip to Secrets Maroma Beach, staying for 6 nights with 4 adults, and would definitely recommend it. The resort was beautiful, relaxing, and offered a great mix of activities and entertainment throughout the day and evening. A big thank you to the staff who made our trip especially memorable. The activities team - Uriel, Angel, Alejandra, Oscar, Leonardo, and Marcelo - were all fantastic and brought so much energy and fun. We also appreciated the great service from Eric and Sergio in the French restaurant, Carlos at Himitsu, Alberto and Victor for their poolside drink service, as well as Luis, and Edy by the pool. We really enjoyed the variety of activities, and tried to do as many as possible. Our favorites included hat painting, macrame, bracelet making, sunset painting, bike rides, kayaking, aqua aerobics, aqua strong, yoga, bingo, pool games, beach volleyball, Mexican games at night, and the kitchen tour. The nightly entertainment was also a highlight, especially the fire show, Queen of Hearts, Boogie Show, and Rock Show. Overall, we had a fantastic time and left with great memories. Returning for a second visit only confirmed how special Secrets Maroma Beach is, and we would happily go back again.

A fantastic time at Maroma!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

I traveled with my husband and met friends at Maroma that we had met at Secrets Bahia Mita. We had a preferred ocean front king room and enjoyed the view and soaking tub on the balcony in building 26. Roger was our concierge and he was on top of things and very friendly. A shout out to Alejandra who led us in water aerobics at noon each day with a smile and enthusiasm! We enjoyed playing left, right center in the pool with our friends… and made new friends. See picture. The preferred beach, preferred beach restaurant and preferred lounge at this resort are outstanding! Very posh. We enjoyed Wilberth as our preferred beach server. He was friendly, checked on us often and engaged in conversation with us about American versus Mexican traditions. We taught him about the Kentucky Derby. I enjoyed working with David in the jewelry store. I purchased two rings and David sent a ring I had previously purchased at another Secrets in Mexico into town to be resized. I received it back the next day and it looked great! We enjoyed talking to David about Mexican versus American culture as well. I appreciated purchasing the jewelry at a half off rate as it was the day after Mother’s Day. I had a pecan pie and chocolate sorbet at the CoCo Cafe and my husband had a brownie and chocolate sorbet and these were a step above other Secrets Coco Cafes in quality of taste. We were welcomed by Erika and Zayda as our UVC representatives. They were fun, friendly, and not pushy. We talked with Luis from UVC as we were waiting to leave and he was friendly. We attended a UVC presentation and appreciated the way Ricky worked with us in a no -pushy way. We love our membership and did not upgrade, but the experience was enjoyable and did not go much over time. My husband and I did try to reduce the use of plastic by using the complimentary tumblers provided to use filtered water and ice and still got diarrhea, so we went back to plastic bottles of water. Please do NOT ever go to non plastic at the Hyatt resorts or we will not be able to visit anymore; we tried it. We loved the candlelight concert. I purchased a skeleton (El Dia de Los Miertos) wind spinner from the visiting vendors and love having a piece of Mexican tradition spinning on my deck in Iowa. The restaurants were great. We loved this trip! It was also fun to have a drink from a coconut! The workout room had excellent equipment! We did not know paella day was once per week on Saturdays and although we were there, we missed it. It would be good to tell visitors this. It was a fantastic vacation.
