Amazing resort and staff

We had an amazing experience here! Not a single complaint. Exceeded our expectations - especially our concierge Daniel, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Thank you everyone at Secrets Maroma!

A worn out property.

Too busy for their own good. They screwed up the reservation. We were on a joint bday and wedding anni trip and our reservation from the phone was completely messed up. So we are in a very suboptimal room. It smells of garlic constantly from being too close to the big World Kitchen. It has NO ocean view. It’s miserable and the property is now very old. Look beyond Maroma and find something fresher.

Another Fantastic Holiday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

My wife and I had another memorable time at this resort to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. This was our 7th visit to Secrets Maroma Beach and one of the best. The accommodation, food and the upgrades to a number of the restaurants have added to the quality of the hotel. In addition the overall staff are exceptional. In particular our concierge, Filipe Cruz looked after us really well and provided a delightful array of Anniversary balloons and rose petals on our bed to celebrate our anniversary. Very thoughtful and epitomised the personal touch. In addition Freddy, Antonio in the World Cafe and Domingo in the Bordeaux restaurant were very welcoming and recognised us from previous visits. On top of that, Jessica, the head Concierge for Food and Beverage, went out of her way to add special touches for our dinners. November is a good time to go as the hurricane season has passed and whilst there are thundery showers around, the weather was excellent. We would recommend a holiday there to anyone

A good, relaxing beach vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 19 hours ago

Just back from a week at Secrets Maroma Beach. I'll get the basics out of the way first: - The resort is beautiful and the beach is fantastic - The food is quite good, especially the Mexican and Italian restaurants (although it sometimes arrives lukewarm rather than hot) - The shows are a great way to spend an evening, especially Mexican Night. - Yes, the Preferred Club is worth it. Treat yourselves if you go. Now, on to a few other points: For goodness sake, be nice to the staff. Many of them are working 12-15 hour days, six days a week, to ensure you have a good time. Wherever possible, tip them well. If you can't always afford a tip, ask them how their day is going. You'd be surprised how well a smile and a friendly "hola" go towards ensuring you have a trouble-free vacation. Kudos to Marcelo (our building concierge), Rene (beach bar waiter), Gaspar (beside the pool) and Jacquelina (Preferred Club restaurant) for making our stay so great. The only thing I'd recommend avoiding are the dinners on the beach. I arranged one for my wife's birthday and when we arrived, we found at least six other couples and one large party all being served by two waiters, who had to deliver food and drinks at a dead run from the kitchens in the main building. They screwed up every single course we ordered and had to run back and fetch replacements (I don't blame them, they were run off their feet). Our relaxing dinner turned into an overpriced marathon for the staff and us. The timeshare...oops, I mean Vacation Club presentation. Compared to the four hour verbal assault we had to endure when we visited another Secrets property a decade ago, this one was mild by comparison. Only about 90 minutes and very little hard-sell, except at the end. If you're not interested, don't go. We got a coupon package that allowed us to get a nice morning in at the spa and knocked a few hundred bucks off our final bill. That's all. Hope you all have a great time!

Secrets Maroma Beach is a very special place to visit

Serets Maroma Beach has it all = great value for a real 5 diamond resort. The beach is of the best in the world, and as an all inclusive the value is excellent. the swim out rooms are the best of all-spotless & roomy with water when you walk out and are surrounded by the spacious ocean with plenty of room for all. The location is perfect, our concierge Marco was great. The atmosphere of the resort is elegant. and there is no noise to disturb your stay. The spa is a very high end special amenity.
