Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

May 15, 2026-May 22, 2026 Secrets Maroma is a place where you are surrounded by beauty. The grounds, restaurants, buildings and especially the people who work there are all so beautiful. My favorite trips are the ones where the staff feels like family and that is exactly what Maroma felt like to me. This is a special place full of happy staff who all seem to like each other and their jobs!! This happiness gets passed along to the guests. The amazing staff will always make Secrets Maroma stand out to me the most!! We had an amazing one week’s stay in a Governor’s Swim Out Suite in building 17. Most reviews suggest requesting building 27, which I did, but there was no availability on our check-in for 27. After staying in building 17 it is obvious that it is an under rated building. The view from 17 is beautiful, the swim out is sunny and the whole area is quiet & private. We had no traffic past our swim out, which made it feel like our own little piece of paradise. We received the best bar service from the most amazing beach server named Balbina. We absolutely adored her. She has a very kind personality and kept the drinks coming on a regular schedule every afternoon. The afternoons we spent in our beautiful swim out, being served by Balbina, will forever be a highlight of our trip. I teared up when saying goodbye to this special person on my last day. Building 17 also comes with the perk of having Guillermo as your concierge. Guillermo is very attentive without being intrusive. He checked in on us daily, booked our spa appointments and made sure our dinner plans we all set. He also made sure that my gluten allergy was well documented for room and beverage service. We did not need much while we were there, but he was so easy to reach if needed and always quick to respond. He truly makes all the guests in his building feel taken care of. Food was very good everywhere we ate. We loved the Tuna Snoring event for lunch which seems to be every Thursday. The freshness of the Blue Fin Tuna and the demonstration was spectacular. The Blue Fin Tuna is caught the day before in the Cabo area and sent to Secrets Maroma. They fileted it in front of us poolside and we all enjoyed fresh sushi for lunch. Thanks to the Himatsu chefs for this delicious lunch experience. I have Celiac’s disease so I cannot consume Gluten. There were no mishaps with Gluten on my trip. The menu has many gluten free options marked but even the ones that are not marked “gluten free” can almost always be modified to accommodate this allergy. All gluten free meals tasted like I was cheating!! One of our favorite dinner servers was Dario. We first met him at the Mediterranean restaurant and then also had the pleasure of being served by him at the Fusion night and Asado night. We had private front row dining experiences for both of those nights which was great. Thank you to the head chef for the great steak and lobster dinner on those two nights. It was a pleasure meeting you, Chef!! There were 4 more ladies that made our stay extra special. Alejandra in activities is an asset to the resort. She encourages participation in a fun, non-pressuring way. I enjoyed water aerobics and sushi making with her. She also encouraged us to go to the silent disco which turned out to be one of most fun nights of the week. I am so glad we didn’t go to bed after dinner and miss it. Thank you Alejandra for adding some extra fun in our week and never forgetting my name!! The other 3 ladies were servers that we met in the lobby bar. They were Estrella, Neydi and Clary. These ladies didn’t just serve us amazing drinks in the evenings; they connected with us and became our friends. We looked forward to the lobby bar because we knew we would get to say hello to them. They are all very special ladies. These connections with staff are what make us eager to return to a resort. Thank you Maroma for employing the best staff!! Even though the beach wasn’t at its best while we were there, it was still beautiful. I was amazed at how clean they keep it during the heavy sargassum season. I did miss the turquoise water!! There is so much more to Secrets Maroma than the beach though. I do nott look back at my trip with any reason to feel unsatisfied. It was a top notch experience that I can’t stop thinking about. I will definitely return to Secrets Maroma. We will wait until the new pool is complete. We missed having a quiet preferred pool which sounds to be what they are getting ready to add. We actually didn’t use the preferred perks much except for the Oceana breakfast each morning. The preferred bar seemed out of the way and hidden. We did not see any advantage to having drinks there over the lobby bar so we would hang near the restaurants and enjoy time with our favorite servers, Estrella, Neydi and Clary!! In fact, we asked the bartender at the preferred bar if he could make our favorite martini from Playa Blanca and he said he could not. It was called the mochatini (like a creamy espresso martini with a chocolate swirl on the glass). At Playa Blanca you could only get it on the evening menu at the preferred bar, it was my husband’s favorite!! He was disappointed so he didn’t stop asking there. One night he asked Estrella in the lobby bar if they could make this drink. He showed her the picture from the Playa Blanca menu which showed the ingredients and she said, no problem. She showed it to the bartender he and he mixed up a great mochatini!! It’s possible the preferred bar did not have all the ingredients but all we heard was no. We LOVED our lobby bar experience each night!! My point is, besides skipping the buffet for breakfast, we did not see a big difference being preferred. Our opinion could change with the addition of new pool which should complete the end of the year. Thank you to Secrets Maroma for a perfect vacation week. We will hold these memories close to our hearts forever! Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Without a doubt, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable with a beautiful bathroom and gorgeous accessories. The bed was huge and super comfy. We didn’t try the jacuzzi on the balcony, but would have if we had nothing better to do. There was always something going on with the hotel’s entertainment crew. The pool played great music, not too loud, through the day. The staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The in-room amenities were another level with our mini bar being replenished daily. The food in the various restaurants was fabulous! I have nothing but praise for this brilliant hotel and staff. Thank you for making our holiday so memorable

Lovely place, we have been multiple times before. Reduced score it that once again the water based activates were patchy. One day ifn3 we could sail, the other 2x even though the wind was less, sea was less choppy etc, it was cancelled. Also we were only allowed to go if someone came with us which was never the case in 4 previous visits.

Secrets Maroma was one of the nicest all-inclusive resorts we've ever visited. From the attentive and friendly staff to the beautiful property, the spacious pool area, well equipped gym, gorgeous spa, incredible food, and lively entertainment, our stay was an all around 10/10. The property is so beautiful, clean and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, the beds and pillows are comfortable, the AC works really well and the shower is a good size with great water pressure and hot water. Not to mention the enormous tub with jets. We enjoyed all the restaurants and food options, including the 24/7 room service and 24/7 grab and go cafe. You don't get access to 24/7 food and drinks at many resorts. The personal pizza's, burgers, hotdogs, etc from the Barefoot Grill were a huge hit for lunch while at the pool and beach every day. The pizza's were our favorite! The spa is a dream. I was in aww the entire time. From the ambiance to the services and staff, I enjoyed it so much I booked a second day! The onsite pharmacy and Pharmacist is a huge bonus cause you just never know. It was well stocked, clean and very organized with Rx options as well as OTC necessities. It provided a certain level of peace of mind. The gift shop could have had more options, it was pretty limited. If you made me pick one thing I think needed improvement on the entire property, it would be the gift shop. I always like shopping for hats, suits and other fun items at resorts. Also, with men needing long pants to eat inside the restaurants, having some nice slacks available to purchase, would be a perk for those that may have forgotten to pack pants. LOL. The only drawback about the location (which is minor unless you are a person who loves to be in the ocean the entire time) is that the water can get heavy with seaweed depending on the season and day. But, the beach crew works tirelessly to keep it as clean as possible. I was very impressed by the overall effort to keep the seaweed cleaned up. We had a couple clear days where the water had very little seaweed. The beach itself was beautiful and quiet. The pools were huge, fun, lively and clean. If you enjoy a good pool scene, you will love it here! Lastly, each building has a dedicated concierge who will cater to your every need. Our concierge was friendly, attentive and professional. He was extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions or needed anything. He knew us by name and made sure to check in with us every morning. He also sent us details about each day's agenda and activities. We loved having a personal concierge! I could go on and on. We will be back and have 100% recommended Secrets Maroma to all our family and friends!

Great stay! Staff is awesome. Hector concierge was great! Luis waiter at Bordeaux A++. Carlos bellman A++. Efrain minibar stocker A++ Wilberth (chef) and Antonio at Tapanykaki A++ but all the staff really were great. We had a swim out and it was nice but very small patio. Room service was wonderful! Great menu and 24 hour service! Coco Cafe was unbelievable for the BEST coffee and countless fresh treats! The pool was PACKED and very difficult to find a chair so we never did go, we stayed at our own which was fine. TONS of great, delicious food options always around the pool daily! I would definitely return!
