The perfect honeymoon!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Everything was well beyond our expectations for our honeymoon. The room was beautiful and the balcony jacuzzi overlooking the ocean was a huge plus. The staff cleaned our room multiple times a day and always left a surprise for us for turn down. The flower petals on the bed and jacuzzi filled with bubbles when we got back from a long day at the pool/beach was really very nice! Our concierge Guillermo was excellent. Every morning he messaged us the schedule of events that day and made himself available to us whenever we needed him; even coming down to the pool or beach to find us making sure everything was going great, which it was! We spent the first half of our trip at the pool mostly due to the seaweed issue on the beach. I guess location wise theres not much you can do against nature but the resort sure did everything they could to eliminate the problem as soon as possible to make the beach clean again. Every morning they had trucks hauling mounds of seaweed off the beach and then would rake the sand continuously, which helped greatly for the second half of the trip making the beach beautiful again. Also, the pool was so fun it wasn’t a bother to spend time there at all. They always had entertainment at or nearby the pool bar and the musicians noise level was always on point given the atmosphere of mostly couples trying to relax. This resort and its preferred club access was worth every penny. We really enjoyed having access to the preferred lounge. The bartenders Luis and Jesica are top notch and absolute pleasures to hang with for an espresso martini before dinner. The rest of the staff was amazing as well. From the concierge to the landscapers EVERYONE had a smile on their face and seemed enthusiastic to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. This is what really made the trip so great to be honest. The atmosphere was always uplifting and fun thanks to every person working at this resort, especially at the 24 hour Coco cafe which EVERY resort should implement! Also the shows were incredible! I don’t know where they find their performers but each one had wildly impressive talents that kept the nightlife entertainment lively and fun. We will be back!!

Perfect 10-Year Anniversary Return, Even Better Than the First Time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 18 hours ago

We returned to Secrets Maroma Beach to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary, the same place we spent our honeymoon, and it exceeded every expectation. This trip meant a lot to us, and the team exceeded that responsibility. From the moment we arrived, Paula made us feel welcome and taken care of. She helped us get checked in smoothly and assisted with our room upgrade, which turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. We upgraded to an oceanfront room, and the view was absolutely incredible. Starting each morning with the sunrise and having direct access down to the pool and beach made the entire experience feel effortless and special. Our personal concierge, Guillermo Saldana, was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and proactive, he truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We had coffee delivered to our room each morning, our favorite drinks and snacks in our room and he was always quick to respond to any questions or requests. Another meaningful touch was connecting us with Aidee Peralta, who I had originally emailed nearly a year ago while planning this trip. We struck the perfect balance between relaxing and enjoying activities. We spent plenty of time at the beach and the beautiful infinity pool, but also joined in on several activities throughout the week: A Spanish lesson with Joanna, who was fantastic and taught us a lot Bracelet making (which our daughter loved)! Kayaking in the ocean, where Alejandra (“Ally”) patiently helped us stop paddling in circles The service across the resort was outstanding. Manuel, quite literally saved our trip by finding my wife’s phone. At the restaurants, we had consistently excellent meals and service, with Antonio and Francisco standing out. We especially loved the Sugar Reef bar, where we could grab a drink and also play ping pong, shuffleboard, and even mini golf. The nightly entertainment was also a highlight, particularly the Mexican show and live music. What stood out most was the culture of the staff. Everyone genuinely seemed committed to making guests feel welcomed and at home in the Mexican Caribbean. With two young kids and busy lives, this trip gave us a rare chance to slow down, reflect on the past 10 years, and enjoy meaningful time together in a beautiful place surrounded by kind people. We cannot recommend this resort highly enough, and we definitely won’t be waiting another 10 years to come back.

Wonderful experience. Great adult resort

We visited Secrets for the first time. Everything was wonderful. Very clean resort. Love the service at the pool. Waiters were awesome and very friendly. It was very comfortable knowing that the waiters served your drinks at the pool. Drinks were awesome. All the restaurants were excellent. Pool restaurants were very convenient. Burgers were the best. Pizza was exceptional. Maid service was excellent. We did not like the dress code in the restaurants. We are on vacation and like to dress casual. Why do the men have to wear long pants not necessary. Our concierge was very knowledgeable and help us a lot.

Secrets Maroma vacation 5-1-26, 2 couples aged 62-65 with swim up balcony rooms. Francis Torres is awesome!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

The workers were very personable and my wife connected with most of them. None more than… Francis Torres the Secret’s Maroma building 24 concierge. She has her desk set up in the hallway, just outside of our room-2412. She greeted us with a huge smile and introduced herself on the 1st day. I asked her how to insert the coffee pods sideways into the machine. She was easy to understand and happily showed me how it worked. Each day she has a smile on her face and asks, “How is your day going?” She answer all our questions as the week progressed. Francis Torres is the best concierge we have ever had! We loved the Secret’s Maroma pools, bars and variety of extracurricular activities! They had ping-pong, darts, shuffleboard, pool, Pee-wee golf, water volleyball, water basketball, basketball tic-tac-toe, archery, tennis, pickleball (the plastic sports-court 2-foot tiles gave odd bounces whenever the ball landed on the cracks) It was 82-89 degrees F and very humid around the clock, which makes wanting to play pickle ball or tennis (even in the early morning or late evening) not that desirable. The beach had close proximity to the resort, and had awesome white sand. There are always plenty of padded lounges and chairs. They have a bar right down on the beach with rope swings. I was a little disappointed with the first 50 yards of water being brown and sandy from the 1 foot waves. The water temperature was very comfortable without a wet suit. I am from Santa Rosa Ca. They have a guided bicycle and kayak trips. The bike ride was 10 mins on the bike down the driveway and thru a 4 min stretch of jungle. We popped out on the beach where they showed us protective cages for nesting turtles and a replica of the sauna houses from the past, then a 10 min bike ride back They had classes on how to make guacamole & hand weave macramé plant hangers. We attended a Wine Cheese and Paint class in a beautiful jungle setting, later we painted an 8-foot tall, three dimensional dragon. The evening shows were less extravagant than on a cruise ship, but very entertaining. The food was amazingly tasty with awesome variety. The service at Oceania (does not require reservations) was very disappointing. Four of us arrived at 7:30PM and waited 40 mins for a table. It took 1 hour and 15 mins to order and receive our food. We all hurried thru our entree’s, skipped dessert (no waiting for the bill , since all inclusive) and still missed 30 mins of the evening show. Our party of four had room s 2412 and 2411. They were both identical and immaculate! The king size bed was comfortable and had plenty of room to maneuver around both sides . The sitting area, bathroom and shower were spacious and comfortable. Air-conditioning worked fabulously with a ceiling fan above the sitting area. Outside the slider was one patio lounger, two chairs & a small table that fit tight to the water, then steps down into the common 4 foot deep swimming pool that backs up to each room on the bottom floor.
