Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

When I made reservation I ask about renovation mentioned in the other reviews, they told me it's already done. but oh la la... as soon as i'm arrived I can see that construction wall blocking the view to the garden and pool, half of the view are gone and the other half can only see green trees and concrete walk. At night there's another construction going on in Unlimited vacation building right across my room, that metal grinding/cutting and raw steel hammer bang really good to keep me awake. Strangely before that one of the sales lady over at unlimited vacation told me there was no renovation on their side, she told me it was next hotel. hmmh..

Our vacation at Secrets Maroma Beach was excellent! We have stayed at dozens of different resorts and this is my top 1 or 2 resorts of all. We booked a preferred club swim out room and it was everything we hoped for. The resort is well maintained and the food and beverages were all very good to excellent and the employees were all friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend the preferred club if you can afford it. The location of the room to the main pool, ocean, breakfast restaurant and the 2 preferred clubs made it more enjoyable.

Overall we were very pleased with secrets Maroma Beach. We arrived around 11 AM and were told to go to the vacation club room to check in because they were backed up in the preferred club even though we were staying as preferred club members. We waited probably 20 minutes in the lobby and then they came and got us for check-in, which took another 15 minutes. They said our room wasn’t ready plus they didn’t have any room rooms in the building or on the top floor as we had requested which we understand is not guaranteed. They said they would text us when our room was ready so we went into the desires lounge to watch football while we waited for our room. We kept checking back every hour or so and kept hearing it’s not ready it’s not ready. We finally decided to go find something to eat by the time we came back. It was around 3:30 and the lady at the check-in told us she had been trying to call me since 2 o’clock. I looked on my phone. There was no text or phone call at all so I think she was just trying to cover up because they forgot to notify us that our room was ready and we had wasted the entire first day sitting around waiting for a room to be ready. By the time we got to our room and unpacked, it was almost 430 so too late to go to the pool so we decided just to hang out at the preferred lounge until it was time to go eat dinner. This was extremely disappointing because we felt that although we had arrived at the resort at 11 AM, we had wasted the entire day without doing anything but waiting around for our room. The next day was a lot better and we enjoyed the resort going down to the pool and eating breakfast in the preferred Oceana restaurant, which was amazing. All in all we did not have a bad meal while we were there except for the Tempanyani restaurant. I asked for shrimp only at the Tempany table and was given a plate full of shrimp tails that the chef had cut off of the shrimp some of them were chopped up within the shrimp to the point where I kept eating shrimp tails and wound up, just pushing the plate away and not even finishing it. The rest of the meals were excellent, and my husband said the Seabass was the best he had ever eaten. We didn’t stay up for any of the shows, but they looked really fun. Our room was very comfortable and kept extremely clean with turn down service every night. Tallia was our concierge. She made sure we had everything we needed and went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. Everyone who worked there was so kind friendly, and seemed happy to be there. The construction did take up a large part of the resort and it was loud during the day with trucks coming and going loud banging and hammering, but we did get a discount because of the construction and we knew that it was going on so it was nothing surprising, but it was somewhat disruptive. If you wanted a quiet peaceful stay it made for a lot of noise during the day. Other than that, I have no complaints about the resort and would definitely return hopefully when the construction is finished.

You can stop reading reviews right now. This place is absolutely AMAZING! The employees of this all inclusive will kiss your butt in ways that you never thought possible. You won’t pass an employee who doesn’t smile, wish you a good day, and ask if they can get you anything. It is non-stop 5 star service 24/7. The food, omg the food! We are foodies. Everything we put in our mouths tasted like it had been prepared by a five star chef! It’s a culinary amusement park. They don’t skimp on quality! Oceanside is near the pools and is for preferred members. We ordered everything on the menu during our stay and everything was top notch. The cream soups were outstanding. Our favorite waiter was Alfredo. He actually speedwalks to grab what you whatever you want and he is excellent at anticipating your needs before you even have to ask. I cannot say enough about the service level at Secrets Maroma. Our concierge was Talia. She checked on us regularly to make sure our needs were being met. The resort is massive! Talia was on the ball getting us transportation to other parts of the resort. We had a medical emergency while there. The onsite doctor was precious! I forgot to get her name, but her and the staff were all so concerned about us. The doctor accompanied us to the hospital and made sure we had everything we needed. Talia continued to check on my husband’s health throughout our stay. She gave us lots of tips and advice that helped us make the most of our visit to Mexico. The room was above my expectations. It was very spacious and five star quality to the max! The toiletries and amenities in the room were superior quality. The tub on the balcony was our favorite spot to enjoy room service and soak up the view. They kept the mini fridge fully stocked with our requested drinks and snacks. Room service is included 24/7. It was always fast and fresh. They even have a two-sided cubbyhole that they can put your room service order in, so you don’t even have to open the door. The bedding was excellent. The quality of the bedding made sure we got the best sleep of our lives. There were so many pillows to choose from, so you don’t have a problem picking the perfect match for your sleep needs. The sheets were buttery soft. The turn down service with a chocolate for bedtime made us feel spoiled. Housekeeping cleaned our room twice a day. You can also turn on the “do not disturb” light if you’d like privacy or don’t want anyone in your room. I will say we left jewelry and money laying out, and no one ever touched anything. The shower was EXCELLENT! There is a rain head and a wall faucet. The water pressure was perfect and the hot water was immediately on hand. The guys up front with valet and the shuttle service went above and beyond to give us fast service with a smile every single time. They wouldn’t let you lift a finger with your baggage. They knew our names immediately, and addressed us every time they saw us. I feel terrible that I can’t remember their names, because they deserve mentioning. They gave us great advice and were so helpful. Inside we were welcomed when we first arrived by Alberto. He was such a fun guy with a big personality. He had a great sense of humor and kept up with us throughout the visit. What a welcoming friend that started us off feeling welcomed. The front desk also can help you get change or exchange your money for pesos. The entire resort accepts cash if you’re worried about figuring the exchange rate. There is also an atm on-sight. There are two main pools. Waiters are buzzing around to provide you with food or beverages, even when you’re in the pool! The swim up bar provides ample shade, if you need to get out of the sun a while. We did not have any problem finding lounge chairs and umbrellas to relax poolside. Towels are right there within reach. They have plenty of extra large quality beach towels available all day. The beach sand is a beautiful soft white powder. The seaweed does detract from the blue hues of the water a little. The staff is continually cleaning and raking the beach. You can rent a bed on the beach, but the free comfortable padded lounge chairs are covered with a grass roof and have a table for your drinks. Again, there are waiters coming by constantly to bring you anything you’d like. It was so relaxing to hear the waves crash and watch a phenomenal sunrise. One of my favorite things about this resort is that you don’t have to have reservations for dinner at any of the specialty restaurants, except the hibachi section of the Asian restaurant. They have an Italian and French restaurant that are so elegantly decorated. The food is divine. My favorite dish was the stuffed portobello mushroom. It was filled with jumbo shrimp and stuffing. The cream based soup of the day was always a must have to start our meal. I highly recommend the lobster bisque! Secrets Maroma has nightly entertainment. Don’t miss The Rock Show or Mexican night. The music, singing, and dancing were so much fun! During the day, there were fun crafts, pool games, and the solo musicians were incredible! The saxophonist that floated around the pool while playing was a top notch musician! The pool temperature was perfect as well. We had a couple’s deep tissue massage at the spa. Let me say, if you want to be pampered, this is the spot. Our therapists were Dorka and Media. These ladies know how to work you over. They use trigger points and aromatherapy like a boss! I cannot recommend them enough. I’ve had lots of massages. None can even compare to what these two ladies can do for you. We left in a state of euphoria, with zero aches or pains. If you are a smoker, there are at least six smoking stations around the resort. They have comfortable seating, and are well shaded. The staff keeps them immaculately cleaned. You can see lots of wildlife all around the resort. We saw parrots, raccoons, iguanas, a trained hawk, and lots of coatis. They all roam freely throughout the property, but never came very close to the people. If you are like me, you’ve probably read hundreds of reviews about all the resorts in Cancun. We stayed at Secrets Maroma for nine days. It was absolute paradise. I am a very critical person. I honestly couldn’t find one single negative thing to say about this little piece of heaven. It is very private and secluded. It is an adults only resort. If you’re looking for a place to party, you will be disappointed here. If you want to completely relax and be treated like royalty, Secrets Maroma is a no brainer. We loved it so much, that we bought the Five Year Corporate Members Package. I can’t wait to go back. There is no way I would ever want to go anywhere else. It is not possible to top this place. Thank you Secrets Maroma for giving us the vacation of a lifetime!

Me and my husband had such a fantastic experience for our honeymoon! The service was absolutely excellent- Roger our concierge was above and beyond. He was the picture of hospitality and was incredibly helpful and thoughtful all week. Franco , the pool concierge was wonderful as well, always making sure we had clean sunglasses and full drinks. Jose and Valentin at the bar were exceptional mixologists and very friendly. We enjoyed the spa very much, massages and hydrotherapy are a must!! The restaurants and servers are fantastic as well. Don’t miss a hibachi reservation!! While lounging at the pool during the week, we enjoyed a pop-up fresh coconut rum bar, a floating saxophone concert, a mini ice cream truck, and live music!! We also got a shot tray of tequila & shot glasses delivered to our room, which was so much fun for our in-room jacuzzi! Alejandra and the entertainment team made our week even more fun, floating around with blackjack and volleyball! We will be recommending Secrets Maroma to all of our friends!
