Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Ok, was a nice resort, I wanted to love it. However, it went sideways at the beginning. Upon check in you are bombarded with time share offers and presentations. In fact, it doesn’t stop there, every time you go into the main lobby you are again bombarded with the time share pitch. Next onto the staff. Most are amazing and friendly, when tipped. When you just want a bottle of water at the bar and you don’t tip, the eye rolls and rudeness begin. Most of the resort is nice, however again most of the super drunk people hang around the bars. Which is fine cause that leaves the beach wide open. But, because all the drunks are around the bar, the beach service is sub par. Wait times seem a bit long, but to be expected, as mostly we drink water and a few afternoon cocktails. I would pass on going here again, as the room was nice but not amazing. The restaurants aren’t bad, but they only have 5 and 1 always is closed every night as they have some sort of buffet festival to try and entertain people. Stop and just have the restaurants open, I don’t need to eat crap Nachos for Monday night football.

A wonderful relaxing week for me and my husband. Beautiful resort, friendly staff and great food. We are already planning to go back next year.

We arrived yesterday and everything was wonderful. Staff extremely nice and helpful. This morning we went to breakfast at the buffet and compared to other resorts in the area it was very small and very little selection. If you had never been elsewhere it would be wonderful. Sadly it doesn't compare. The 1 Star rating is because of the used car salesman atmosphere in the restaurant. Every table was a salesman trying to sell vacation timeshares or clubs. Staff falling all over them to impress but mostly ignoring us. I do not need to spend this kind of money to be on a used car lot. Probably will never go to another Secrets because of this. If you come be warned

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing 40th Birthday Trip! My wife and I had an incredible stay at Secrets Maroma and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate my 40th birthday. The biggest highlight of our trip was Uriel from the entertainment team. We had some great conversations with him throughout the week, and he went completely above and beyond by surprising my wife and me with a private painting session. He knew how much I love my favorite football team, the Cincinnati Bengals, and I got to paint a Bengals-themed piece to take home. It was such a thoughtful and personal surprise and easily one of our favorite memories from the entire trip. Uriel is genuinely a great guy and someone we won’t forget! I also have to give a huge shoutout to our concierge, Marco. He was absolutely fantastic. He was always available whenever we needed anything and made sure we were taken care of throughout our entire stay. His service was top-notch. The beach massage was phenomenal, and renting a Bali bed was absolutely worth it. The pools were beautiful, and the poolside staff worked incredibly hard and provided great service every day. The food at the restaurants was great as well. We ate very well the entire trip and had a great experience everywhere we went. Overall, Secrets Maroma gave me an amazing way to celebrate turning 40. Between the beautiful resort, great food, pools, beach, incredible service, and especially people like Uriel and Marco, this was a birthday trip my wife and I will remember for a very long time. Good food, nice people, spa was very average for the cost. Beach is not swimmable due to seaweed (not their fault), and hotel is very noisy from late afternoon far into the evening. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, I might recommend you do your homework.
