Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Our stay at Secrets Maroma Beach was absolutely amazing!! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, and the resort was beautiful! The rooms were awesome & so clean. The atmosphere was amazing and the location from the airport was an awesome plus as well.

This was one of the worst resort experiences we have ever had. We booked a six-night vacation at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun expecting peace, relaxation, fresh ocean air, and time on one of the area’s famous beaches. Instead, we left after only three nights because the conditions on the beach became unbearable. The beach was the only place where we hoped to relax, listen to the waves, and enjoy the ocean breeze. Unfortunately, diesel tractors were operating there throughout the day to remove seaweed. We understand that seaweed must be managed, but the constant exhaust from these machines completely destroyed the beach experience. Rather than smelling the ocean, we were breathing heavy diesel fumes. The black exhaust was overwhelming and seemed to remain in the air around us. We could smell it in our noses, feel it in our throats, and by the third day we felt as though the fumes were affecting our breathing and lungs. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable or safe remaining at the resort. We did not leave because we changed our plans or simply decided we did not like the hotel. We left because the constant diesel exhaust made it impossible to use the beach and made us genuinely concerned about continuing to breathe those fumes. A luxury beach resort should not expose its guests to machinery exhaust for hours while they are trying to relax beside the ocean. Our six-night vacation was cut in half, and the entire trip was ruined. We paid for six nights but were forced to leave after three. So far, we have received a refund for only one unused night, while the remaining two nights have still not been refunded. This was supposed to be a peaceful and restorative vacation. Instead, we spent our time trying to avoid diesel smoke and ultimately had to leave early. The experience was deeply disappointing, stressful, and completely unacceptable for a resort that presents itself as a luxury destination. Until the resort finds a way to manage the seaweed without filling the beach with diesel fumes, I cannot recommend Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun. Guests deserve to know that the beach experience may involve constant machinery, black exhaust, and an overpowering smell of diesel rather than clean ocean air.

Beautiful resort and the staff is top tier. They are always kind and attentive and go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible experience. My wife and I honeymooned here and absolutely loved it!! We can’t wait to come back :)

I went to Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun resort with my family in June 2026 and I had the absolute best time! Everything about this resort says luxury, relaxation and care. I cannot articulate how much this hotel puts in the extra care and detail into every aspect of your time there with them. We received fresh and scented towels to cool our faces with on arrival as well as welcome champagne. This just gives an insight into how the rest of the holiday would go. We were escorted to our hotel room via a golf cart and when I requested for an extra bed they were back at our door within 5 minutes, I've never seen hospitality like this before I was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel room featured a rainfall shower and a jacuzzi style bath which was beautiful. Room service was available all night into the early hours of the morning, as well ad throughout the day so you have the option of eating breakfast in your hotel room if you ever wished for this. The hotel had an itinerary jam packed full of activities to partake in throughout the day you can check the app to see the activities for the week so you can pre-plan what you want to do from yoga, to kayaking and pool volley bool. I want to say that all of the staff including the waiters, coffee servers, concierges, and entertainment team were such lovely people with helpful and attentive spirits. They really truly cared about making our trip as enjoyable as possible and no request was ever too much for them, they work so hard and are such selfless people who were like friends to us. Unfortunately I cannot remember all of their names but to mention a few there was Alejandra Lopez, Monica Lopez, Angel (concierge of block 23), Isabelle (entertainment team), Clarry in the lobby the list goes on. There is a beautiful spa at the hotel which unfortunately we did not get to experience as we spent our money on trips to Xcaret and Xplor but it looked so serene and relaxing when we took the tour inside there. Although we had the pleasure of receiving a massage on the beach which was just as good and hit all the right spots which was secured through a package we purchased as a present for our Mum's 60th birthday which she thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend taking a look at the packages that are listed as Culinary Experiences on the Secrets Maroma Beach app also known as the Hyatt Inclusive Collection app. They offer romantic meals on the beach, cabana beds on the beach with complementary champagne and waiter service, exclusive dinners by the pool, this resort really fills all of the stops as I said and they put so much care and thought into ensuring that everything you could ever want or need is included in their menus and deals. This was a holiday one could only dream of and I am so grateful to have been to this resort in Mexico and to have met all of the lovely people who represent Mexico. Much love, Curtis

The presidential suite is stunning! From the moment you walk in it’s pure luxury. Spacious doesn’t even begin to cover it. What a dream! *Massive living room with floor to ceiling built ins. *Huge patio with loungers and direct swim-out pool access just steps from the beach. The service was impeccable, with stars like Brandon, building 27 concierge.
