Wow! This is a true luxury experience with remarkable customer service, personal concierges, and true Mexican hospitality. My Mom and I decided to do a girls trip here. We will be coming back every year. It was relaxing, easy and fun. The beach and pool areas are excellent. You're able to walk the beach which has become less common with the seaweed. The rooms are very comfortable. There are many options for vegetarians. Check-in was a breeze with Antonio H. He even gave us a 25% off spa discount. We had champagne waiting in the room with chocolate covered strawberries. Jesus was excellent in transporting our luggage to the hotel room from the lobby. Karen with our personal concierge. She was attentive, knowledgeable, kind. She helped us organize our day, transportation and activities. She also had quite a selection of books. People left behind that you could could borrow in case you forgot your beach book, Our spa experience was amazing! Noelia and Sergio from the front desk helped us book all of our spa services. Our couples massages with Lily and Alexandra were very relaxing and rejuvenating. I also had a bikini wax with Lily. Thank you Hugo for being our spa attendant. We enjoyed the Hydro pool both times. We enjoyed both the pool and the beach. We did not have a problem, getting a seat at either places. Fransico ( pool concierge) and Wilberth (beach server) were excellent. Fransico even looked for a float for us to have at the pool. The property is maintained very well. There are yoga classes, giant sized, chest boards, mini golf, nightly show shows and a variety of restaurants. Clary at the 24 hour coffee shop was kind of knowledgeable! Thank you for the delicious chocolate chocolate chip cookies. Elmer at the steakhouse restaurant was excellent as well. It had many vegetarian options. Enjoy the beet carpaccio and pasta.

It’s an amazing experience like usual this second time coming back. Angel was absolutely amazing and the Trip would not have been the same without him and his help organizing our activities and special moments. We stayed in three rooms, 2319, 2317 and 2314

Mother/Daughter Trip Review

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

Over all we really enjoyed our vacation at Secrets Maroma. They excel in their service for sure. As a seasoned traveler, we really noticed the level of service they provided and it was consistent in every single person we encountered. This was a mother/daughter trip and we were focused on relaxation, connection, reading, luxury, tranquil. And I want to preface our sentiments that we know we are the minority opinion as others poolside were having a terrific time. But, we found the poolside to be quite overstimulating with loud booming speakers combined with pool volleyball and basketball, loud pool games and on Saturday the loudest dance/disco ish music with a dj and techno drum that was hard to listen to for as long as it lasted. We unfortunately chose the wrong pool chairs as we ended up right in front of the volleyball and basketball net both days despite moving several chairs away the next day. I was actually hit in the head. We would have moved, but the chairs are taken early in the morning (by 6 am the best chairs are getting snatched up) and there aren't other chairs that are together or not directly under speakers. We tried to make the best of it! Again, we are in the minority as people were having fun at this resort! Lots of socializing and drinking but again we are not big drinkers and were not into the social aspect as my daughter and I were there to spend time with each other. My feedback would be to block off the deck space right where they plan to set up the nets and hoops. The balls frequently hit chairs, books, food, drinks, people. Just don't put chairs there and block that space in future would be my feedback. We purchased the Preferred Club experience and are so thankful we did as this provided quiet spaces for us to connect and eat. Since we do not drink much, we enjoyed the quality over quantity of the preferred bar. We enjoyed a quiet and cool place to relax and the ambiance is lovely. We loved the breakfast for preferred guests each morning. The food was delicious and the fresh juices of all varieties were the perfect way to start the day. Again, service was 10/10 our entire stay. The other stand out was the pool side, wood fired pizza to order. 10/10 for variety, taste and service. The coffee cafe was another 10/10 with a terrific assortment of specialty coffees, a lovely specialty dessert bar, ice cream, donuts, sandwiches and cookies with gluten free options as well. The gentleman that served us each day was so sweet. I normally only drink one coffee in the morning, but really had several coffees each day as they were so tasty. The Tepanaki meal was our least favorite though the server was wonderful, ambiance great, and the tempura ice cream delicious. The meal itself was 4/10. They do host weddings at this hotel and we were surprised that they were so close to the outdoor steak house. One evening we were going to go for a nice steak dinner but the wedding music was booming dj dance music that overpowered the steak house ambiance and the music they had going. It was just too much! We opted out that night and went the next. I had a ribeye that was delicious and perfectly cooked. In looking back our biggest feedback would be the overstimulation of the music. This is a personal preference, but we would have loved softer, Latin themed instrumentals, to really enhance the Mexican vacation vibe. At times felt like we were on a Florida Spring break with the way some of these adults were slamming drinks and partying. Again, they were having a blast, but not the kind of relaxing, tranquil spa vacation we had hoped to enjoy. It was much quieter on the beach and had the ocean been more swimmable, we would have moved there for the whole thing. They do a wonderful job of cleaning the beach, but there was a bunch of seaweed in the water and I didn't want to swim in it. It was also quite windy and red-flag conditions so that is why we remained poolside. I have been coming to the area for 30+ years and I miss the days of white sand beaches and blue water, sandy bottomed ocean for sure. We each had 80 min massage appointments and both of us thought they were great. I get weekly massage for health reasons and found this one to be excellent. I wish we had more than one hour before and after the appt to enjoy the waters and steam rooms offered. That part felt rushed and overly supervised. Overall, for an all inclusive vacation, I would definitely say this was a solid good time, the food delicious and service excellent. Everyone was having a super great time around us so our preference of a more quiet time shouldn't dissuade anyone from going, unless you are looking for that tranquil, relaxed vibe, we love.

We recently choose Secrets due to their ability to accommodate someone with Celiac. We were overwhelmed with the expertise and knowledge of all staff to keep guests safe, feeling included with so many options and having a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was beyond our expectations. Great stay!
