My wife and I stayed here for about 24 hours as we tacked on a day to our vacation after staying at another AmResort (Breathless Cancun - read other review) the 4 days prior. I'm late 30's and have been lucky enough to have this be the 8th all-inclusive resort I've been to in Mexico/the Caribbean. First off, when I travel, I want to stay at a place that has a "feel" of the country I am in. Things like night-life/clubs, dancing, etc...are not at all what I look for or want on a trip. With that being said this resort was perfect in EVERYWAY. I wish more than anything I could have spent more time here, but I guess that just means I have to go back. * Food - for the 3 meals we had here, they were all awesome. We ate at the buffet for breakfast, Seaside for lunch, and barefoot grill for lunch and Oceana for dinner. To pick the best would be impossible as each were incredible. * Pools - there is a main pool with a swim-up bar that looked good (didn't go in) as we lounged by the infinity pool closer to the beach. * Beach - white sand, soft, amazing water clarity...if you envision "perfect beach" this has it. * Room - authentic and clean. * Shopping - great stores in the main lobby and they also at night had local vendors set up pop-up shops and that was cool...with only being there one night, I don't know if this happens every day, or if we were just really lucky. * Spa - we didn't get any services but were given a tour and do I regret not getting some service. This spa was unreal. I could have easily spent a lot of money and a lot of time hanging out there. * Resort - I can't put into words how beautiful this place was. After staying at the Breathless previously which had a "Vegas feel" I was hoping to get an true Mexico feel and this place seriously was perfect. The pictures they show don't do it justice as it is more spectacular in person. This place is worth every penny you would spend, there was not one even little thing I could complain about...maybe the drive? It is just north of Playa del Carmen so the ride to the airport was 40 minutes maybe? If I knew what was waiting for me at this resort the drive from the airport would be like torture as I couldn't get there soon enough. Lastly, the people here are what really drive home how amazing it is. Do yourself a favor before you go, learn a little Spanish and try it out. I speak a little (and I stress a little) and my wife less than that, but we still tried. I don't know that we got better service because of it or not, but it is appreciated. Big thanks to Jorge Miranda as he was incredible with his time, our questions and my bad Spanish. I know there are a lot of options and various price-points, but if this is within your budget, or maybe even a little above go here and I can guaranty you will not be disappointed with your choice...not say other resorts are worse, but I can't imagine a place being any better.

I absolutely loved this resort, but it was the staff that MADE the stay! They are incredible and are more than happy to accommodate any need. We hung out at the swim up bar a lot and Germias, Manuel and Andres did an excellent job!

My husband and I stayed at Secrets Maroma for an extended weekend. The service was top notch - everyone so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious - especially the buffet restaurant below the lobby. We looked forward to breakfast every morning with the freshest fruit, juices, omelettes and Mexican specialities. It was so relaxing to sit on the veranda with a cup of coffee. Lovely! The rooms were spacious and housekeeping was excellent. The mini bar was restocked regularly as well as plenty of bottled water left in our room each day. The beach and pool area were so relaxing. Never an issue to find a seat or a shady spot to spend the day. Maroma beach is beautiful. White sand stretches in either direction. So relaxing. We will definitely come back!

Recently returned from a seven day trip here at Secrets Maroma. Excellent trip. The staff in general is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are consistently clean and well taken care of. Getting chairs by the pool was never an issue, as long as you wake up at a reasonable time. The beach, for us, was the selling point. Very well taken care of. A few of the days we had a lot of sea weed come ashore but the staff work hard at trying to clean it up as fast as possible. No complaints with the food and restaurants. The entertainment staff works hard all day keeping guests entertained and a special shoutout to David? (Minicooper). He has a smile on his face all day and is always a good time!
