Fantastic service. specifically Johnna in the entertainment team made pool activities fun. Personal concierge Guillermo was super attentive and organized our tour no sweat. Exquisite food. They carved a tuna for us! Each restaurant is distinct and delicious

Beautifully maintained grounds with Disneyland-level attention to cleanliness. Impeccable service from all staff. Ample beach sideshaded loungers, never had to compete for a good location. Only drawback was some rowdy Travelers that made the place feel like a Carnival cruise at times. Left one restaurant due to frat-boy atmosphere/shouting, etc. Overall, I would visit again, based on the outstanding service and wonderful beach-side experience.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Secrets Maroma Beach and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. What stood out most was the exceptional friendliness of the entire staff. From the concierge team to beach service, housekeeping, restaurant staff, and everyone else we encountered, we were consistently greeted with smiles, professionalism, and genuine customer care. While a few individuals deserve special recognition, the truth is that the exceptional service culture extended throughout the entire resort. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds, a stunning beach, and a relaxed atmosphere. Our focus was less on pool bar activities and more on enjoying the beach, swimming in the ocean, the resort, and the dining experience. The quality of the food in the à la carte restaurants, particularly the Italian and French restaurants, exceeded our expectations. What impressed us most was the consistency of the service culture. As world travelers who have visited and stayed at many resorts across North America, Europe, Africa, and other parts of the world, we can honestly say that this level of friendliness and genuine customer care is something special and increasingly rare. In our view, this should actually be the standard for a premium resort. Unfortunately, many hotels have either forgotten this principle or have started treating exceptional service as something guests must pay extra for. Secrets Maroma delivered exactly what we expect from an outstanding resort: professional service, genuine friendliness, attention to detail, and a sincere commitment to making guests feel welcome. There were only two downsides. Firstly, the pool area was not ideal for swimming, at least from our perspective. The pools are relatively shallow, and most guests seemed to prefer relaxing, socializing, and enjoying drinks in the water rather than using the pools for swimming. Perhaps an opportunity for improvement would be to offer distinct pool areas—one focused on relaxation and socializing, and another designed for guests who enjoy more active swimming. Maybe this is simply a European preference, but as enthusiastic swimmers, we would certainly appreciate such an option. Secondly, there was an above-average amount of seaweed during our stay. This is obviously not a hotel issue but rather a broader environmental challenge affecting much of the Caribbean coastline. Overall, Secrets Maroma Beach ranks among the very best resort experiences we have had. Muchas gracias to the entire team. We will be back.

We recently stayed at this resort and overall had a great experience. From the moment we pulled up, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The activities team did an excellent job offering a wide variety of activities throughout the day. They encouraged participation without being pushy and were respectful if you preferred to relax instead. One thing to be aware of is that you’ll likely be approached about signing up for a timeshare presentation during check-in. If you’re not interested, just politely decline and keep saying no. The pool experience was fantastic. The pool staff was attentive, drinks arrived quickly, and there were several nice touches throughout the day, including complimentary sunglass cleaning, a fruit cart, and an ice cream cart. There are also two poolside food options, and the pizza was surprisingly good—definitely worth trying. We stayed in a Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View King. While the room itself was nice, we were placed on the second floor and had virtually no ocean view despite booking an ocean view category. That’s something to keep in mind when selecting your room. We also didn’t find much value in the Preferred Club amenities. The Preferred dining and bar locations weren’t our favorite, and the room location didn’t provide any significant advantages. In fact, many of the standard rooms seemed more conveniently located near the main pool and lobby. If we return, we likely would not pay extra for Preferred. The resort did a great job managing the seaweed on the beach. Some days there was more seaweed in the water than others, but overall the beach was well maintained considering the conditions. The food exceeded our expectations. The French restaurant was our favorite and is a must-try. On the other hand, if you’ve experienced hibachi restaurants before, you may want to skip it here, as it wasn’t much different from what you can find at home. Overall, we had a wonderful stay thanks to the excellent staff, fun atmosphere, great food, and enjoyable pool experience. We’d definitely consider returning.

We went for a wedding and were not disappointed. Secrets Maroma was great in every aspect, but the real standouts are the staff. The concierge group, particularly Francia Torres made our first trip memorable and ensured it won’t be our last. Muchimas gracias!
