Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Me and my husband had such a fantastic experience for our honeymoon! The service was absolutely excellent- Roger our concierge was above and beyond. He was the picture of hospitality and was incredibly helpful and thoughtful all week. Franco , the pool concierge was wonderful as well, always making sure we had clean sunglasses and full drinks. Jose and Valentin at the bar were exceptional mixologists and very friendly. We enjoyed the spa very much, massages and hydrotherapy are a must!! The restaurants and servers are fantastic as well. Don’t miss a hibachi reservation!! While lounging at the pool during the week, we enjoyed a pop-up fresh coconut rum bar, a floating saxophone concert, a mini ice cream truck, and live music!! We also got a shot tray of tequila & shot glasses delivered to our room, which was so much fun for our in-room jacuzzi! Alejandra and the entertainment team made our week even more fun, floating around with blackjack and volleyball! We will be recommending Secrets Maroma to all of our friends!

Great place for female solo traveler. I stayed in the preferred club and my concierge Roger made sure I was well taken care of. He found me every day to make sure I was ok, if I needed anything and greeted me by name each time our paths crossed. Great place if you want to unwind and relax.

What began as an extremely frustrating resort experience ended positively thanks to the empathy and care of the Secrets Riviera Cancun team. We were a party of five staying in three ocean-view rooms on the Breathless side—one in Building 5 and two in Building 7. For hours each day, extremely loud techno music and heavy bass from the entertainment areas could be heard and physically felt in our rooms. Not long after that ended, very intoxicated guests would regularly gather on the patio below our rooms, with late-night vulgar yelling and behaviour that made it difficult to relax or sleep. After several nights of that combination, I no longer felt comfortable or safe there. Following an unsuccessful room move and a long, exhausting evening, the General Manager personally stepped in late at night and arranged for me to transfer to the Secrets side, where I was placed in Room 3212. The difference was immediate. I finally felt calm, comfortable, safe, and able to rest. The next day, I explained that my mother, a solo senior traveler, was still staying at Breathless and that we had only one night remaining. I asked whether she could join me at Secrets so we could spend our final day together. Although we had offered to pay for the change, the team listened with genuine understanding and arranged her transfer at no additional charge. Their kindness completely changed the ending of our vacation. Knowing that my mother could join me in a quieter, more secure environment gave us both tremendous peace of mind. The contrast between the two sides was striking. Secrets felt peaceful, well-managed, and secure. I could walk around the property and genuinely relax rather than remain alert to the behaviour of heavily intoxicated guests. We were able to enjoy Secrets’ beautiful surroundings, quieter atmosphere, and thoughtful service while still having access to the restaurants and amenities at Breathless next door. Problems can happen at any resort, but the way a team responds makes all the difference. I especially want to recognize the General Manager for personally stepping in when the situation became overwhelming, as well as the Secrets team for continuing that same level of care the following day. Secrets Riviera Cancun listened, showed empathy, and found a meaningful solution when we needed it most. Thank you for helping my mother and me end our trip feeling relaxed, safe, and genuinely looked after.

Secrets Maroma was chosen because of reviews which are opinions just like mine. Paid for Preferred Club Ocean View got construction view with a little peek of the ocean over the heavy vegetation. Got moved to Ocean Front and for the money I was not impressed. The staff, the food and the grounds were okay. The “Preferred Club” is a joke. Don’t waste your money. I’ve been right down the road to the Excellence Riviera several tomes that has an “Excellence Club” and thats worth the extra money because they know what they’re doing with the extra perks. Been to several different resorts around the Cancun, Riviera Maya, Tulum and Isla Mujeres area over the past 25 yrs and I must say the Secrets Maroma Beach has been the most disappointing resort and definitely not worth the money. The Secrets Maroma Beach was a bad choice and this was the first time there but I can definitely say it will be our last. My wife and I both were talking about how this area has changed, not the people, they’re always great, but the beaches and water have just deteriorated over the years. It used to be so beautiful and now it’s just another beach. Moving on to explore the beach life somewhere else. Resort is beautiful. Beach was clean and had plenty of seating both on the beach and around the pool area. Food was great and there are a lot of choices.
