Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Another wonderful experience thanks to a dedicated and extremely hard-working staff. From the moment we checked in to Secrets Maroma Beach with Vincente at the front desk we knew that this was going to be another great experience. Our expectations were confirmed when we met Hector, our concierge. As with almost every vacation, little inconveniences or problems will arise. However, Hector addressed any and all of our minor concerns quickly and to our satisfaction. In addition, Hector checked on us quite often to make sure we were happy and enjoying everything the resort had to offer. I also note that one evening when Hector was not available, we had a problem and called the front desk. Within 5 minutes Lourdes arrived at our room to address the issue and resolved same. The only problem the staff could not solve was caused by Mother Nature who decided that it was a good time to dump literally tons of seaweed on one of the most beautiful beaches that we have visited. A valiant effort by the resorts employees, who worked from dawn to dusk, could not save the situation. However, the pools were a more than adequate substitute for the beach as they offered both lively and laid back options. Further, the whole resort is immaculate due to the tireless effort of the staff. As to the food options, the indoor breakfast and lunch buffets were incredible. Everyday a different outdoor buffet was offered for lunch and burgers, pizza, etc. were also offered around the pool at the Barefoot Grill. In the evening the restaurants, such as Bordeaux, Portofino and Oceana, offered diverse menus while carnivores feasted at the Roast on Thursday night. I would be remiss if I failed to mention some of the people who work at the resort and made our vacation special. Thank you Berenince, one of the hostesses at the breakfast/lunch buffet, Nicoletta, the hostess and Francisco and Sergio, the servers at Bordeaux, Luis our server at the Grill and Misael and William, our servers at Oceana. Finally, as to the staff, special mention once again goes to Freddy who continues to make people smile at the breakfast buffet, and his cohort Chris, who works just as hard and is as fun to be around as Freddy. You can't go wrong starting your day with Freddy or Chris as your breakfast server.

I seldom write reviews, but as someone who visits Mexico a couple times per year, this resort stands out among the best! We live in Toronto, so good restaurants are not hard to come by. The restaurants at this resort would compete well with many good spots around the city. Definitely try the French onion soup at Bordeaux, and make it to Himitsu. If you’ve never done it before, try the teppanyaki table. If you have, it’s pretty similar to any other experience. For lunch, do the Barefoot Grill. They’re quick, and the burgers, wraps and especially the little made to order pizzas are the best we’ve had in Mexico. Many people talk about the seaweed, and yes, it’s real and it’s present. It’s seasonal, and there is nothing any resort can do other than clean it up, and they do a good job of that every morning. The beach is beautiful white sand, but you may want to wait till late morning to go out. You’ll avoid the look and smell if you do. There is a lot to do if you want activity at any time of day. Also, if you just want to quietly relax, there are many great areas. The staff does a great job of letting you know what’s going on without being pushy or annoying. 10/10 to the entertainment staff. We were there for my partner’s birthday, and they made the whole week exceptional. From the start of the day, where she was serenaded at breakfast with the help of Antonio. To a perfect dinner experience organized by our personal concierge, Marco, to our beautifully decorated room, also put together by Marco. We’ve been to a number of resorts and have not always found our personal concierge to be overly helpful, but Marco was the perfect combination of attentive, and responsive, without being overbearing. His service was the icing on the cake to a perfect vacation. We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to stay at Secrets Maroma Beach, and will definitely be coming back.

Our stay at Secrets Maroma was absolutely incredible, but what truly made this trip unforgettable was the extraordinary kindness and care shown by the staff. I am a breast cancer survivor, and during our trip the team planned a surprise that completely overwhelmed me in the best possible way. They secretly coordinated with my friends to record messages celebrating my journey and recovery. They spent their own time helping put everything together, and then surprised me by inviting me on stage during one of the evening shows and playing the video in front of everyone. It is seriously one of the nicest things I’ve ever experienced and one of the nicest things that has happened to me. The video was filled with heartfelt messages from people I love, and the audience’s support and encouragement made the entire experience feel like a dream. It is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. I want to give special recognition to Isabel Rabelo, who was the mastermind behind the entire surprise and even stayed after hours to make sure everything came together. Thank you to Leonardo Somohano for recording the videos, Daniel Macuil for helping host the event and for the thoughtful souvenir, and DJ Daniel for putting the video together. What you created was so much more than entertainment—it was a gift that touched my heart in a way I will never forget. The entire resort was beautiful, the service was exceptional, and the staff consistently went above and beyond. But it was this act of kindness and compassion that made Secrets Maroma stand out from any resort I’ve ever visited. Thank you for creating a memory that my friends and I will treasure forever.

Secrets maroma beach was the best holiday we have ever had. We came for our honeymoon and they couldn’t have done more for us. We were made to feel so special. Everything was spotless and the facilities were fantastic. The food was out of this world, cocktails were amazing too! Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We will 100% return again.

Excellent property with plenty of daily events and restaurants. Everyone was accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. Angel, our concierge went above and beyond daily to make sure there was nothing else we needed. Besides check-in, there was no pressure to do a timeshare presentation.
