Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Had an incredible time celebrating my husband’s birthday here! The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and enjoyable. There were plenty of activities to keep us entertained, making each day special. We stayed in a spacious junior suite with a lovely balcony. The concierge service was exceptional—Hector went out of his way to make my husband’s birthday memorable and ensured everything was perfect. His kindness and dedication made us feel truly valued. The food was outstanding—delicious and of high quality, with a wide variety at every meal. Each restaurant surpassed our expectations, and every dish was consistently impressive. Despite visiting several Secrets resorts over the years, this one stands out as our favorite. The superb service, fantastic dining, stunning surroundings, and a lively yet peaceful vibe made for an unforgettable vacation. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Amazing trip. Especially Brandon building 27 concierge. Carmen front lobby and David poolside restaurant. From the minute you walk into secrets maramoma you feel like VIP. From the resort, room, and staff. We couldn’t hand asked for anything more! Brandon is now our family. Everyday even on his day off made sure we were spoiled. We will be returning for a third time this November. Thank you secrets.

I would not recommend this Hotel if wanting to have a room overlooking the ocean as the rooms are not as advertised in pictures! There are only a few rooms that actually are viewing the ocean. These are “ocean front” ONLY and it’s the very top floor (4th). Very few others can see through pool/ resort if on 4th floor but a very far distance. We had upgraded to an ocean view which, when we first arrived had no ocean view (3rd floor) and only of the bar yoga,and palm trees on the grounds. They were helpful and moved us to one building closer on the (4th) floor. Clearly someone else’s designated room with ribbons. The resort is very nice if you are only going for the resort and are not planning on leaving for anything. It is very expensive and far to go to the major cities of Cancun and playa del Carmen (about 30-45 minutes). My wife and I travel a lot and these are the most expensive taxis compared to central and even North America. They make it seem like the set price is a good price but is at least $20 usd each way (plus expect tip. Some will even ask for it) to even leave the premises. When getting into the cab the priced changed as it was a further drive and had to re-negotiate. It’s $75 round trip for a shuttle to an excursion in playa del Carmen. The hotel should have their own shuttle service instead of relying on these companies overpricing tourists. My own experience could have been different/hindered because of transportation and other specific complications that I will not mention. Overall the staff is extremely nice and communicated well! The grounds are large so expect to walk a lot especially from the lobby to the beach or restaurants. The gift shop is even more over priced since it’s so far to taxi into playa del Carmen. The hotel rooms are spacious with a great bathroom. Has a nice size balcony just not a great view except for a few rooms mentioned. We were even told our new room was one of the best (4th floor) but had to go on the balcony and turn your head to see the ocean at a distance (nothing like the pictures online). Room was very clean and they have a great way of providing room service. The food was amazing especially for an all inclusive! My wife and I enjoyed the hibachi!

We had the best time. 100/10. Alejandra a part of the entertainment team, and she was wonderful! Each restaurant was fabulous and every staff member we interacted with couldn’t have been more kind. We’ve been to multiple top tier all inclusive resorts, but Maroma was our absolute favorite.

Secrets Maroma Beach is the best all-inclusive resort we have experienced. It all starts with the staff. Everyone on the staff was friendly, accessible, and very helpful. We are beneficiaries of Unlimited Vacation Club membership and were upgraded to a Preferred Club room. The room was very nice and supplied plentifully. We almost never drink alcoholic beverages. so at our request, the refrigerator in the room was stocked with plenty of Coke Light and water. The cleaning and turndown services were impeccable. The bathroom is very nice with a great shower and double sinks. The one thing we did not like about the room was that the bathroom and bedroom sections were on one level and then there was about an 8 inch stepdown to the desk, lounging, and outdoor balcony areas. We saw no reason for the different levels of the floor and considered it a potential hazard. There is a very nice large soaking tub on the balcony and a whirlpool bathtub in the bathroom area, which seems very nice, although we did not use it. We had a concierge in our building and a separate couple of concierges from Unlimited Vacation Club, and all of them took excellent care of us and even helped arrange a wedding anniversary celebration with special cake at dinner one night and a birthday celebration at another restaurant the other night. Regarding the restaurants and food, We ate at the French restaurant twice and the Italian restaurant 3 times and found the personal service (including remembering us and our names after the first night) and the food to be outstanding at both of these restaurants. Just as one example, the filet mignon at both restaurants was outstanding and so tender that we used our regular dinner knives and no steak knives to cut the meat. We also had excellent steak at the Seaside Grill. The Mexican restaurant was quite good, but not as good as these other 3 restaurants, which were all well above the standards of any of the 7 or 8 other all-inclusive resorts where we have vacationed. The swimming pools were very nice with comfortable lounge chairs and good umbrellas, although they were somewhat awkward to move as the position of the sun changed. Service at the pool bar and around the pool was outstanding. There also was a great fast food walkup/take out grill and excellent wood-fire pizza stall near the pools. My wife cannot walk on the sand, which meant that we never went on the beach or in the ocean, but we were very happy at the pool. We did not utilize the spa or gym/fitness center and did not attend the evening entertainment, but daytime musical entertainment around the pools was great. We only utilized the Preferred Club once for lunch cheeseburgers, which were excellent. Check-in and check-out were friendly and very efficient. We definitely will make this the first all-inclusive resort to which we will return for a second time. It is just a great place all around.
