Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

We had a good time overall, largely thanks to some fantastic staff, but there were a few things that stopped it from being a truly relaxing stay. The food was edible but not great, and the resort was quite crowded and often loud. The coconuts were also a bit rogue! The dress code is annoying for men, especially during the day when it’s so hot. No sleeveless shirts at breakfast and long trousers for men in the evening are particularly frustrating. Some women get away with very short or low-cut outfits (no judging), but if a man is wearing stylish shorts, it’s a no go. Very strange, and if we’re honest, not very relaxing! We’re not sure the Preferred Club was worth it. There were some odd policies, such as only serving drinks in the front area and no food, even though it’s less than a metre away. The Preferred lounge was also often closed for weddings, which feels a bit unfair when you’ve paid extra for it. There was a lot of upselling too, so it didn’t feel truly all-inclusive. You also can’t book the Seaside Grill, so you have to turn up and wait around an hour. The real highlight was the staff. A big thank you to: - Leo from the entertainment team - Enrique for the great drinks - Armando on the patio - Alma in housekeeping - Erik in the Preferred Club - Alexis at breakfast in the Preferred Club Good fun, but we wouldn’t come back again.

Overall the resort is clean, and the staff are very nice. Guests can be an older crowd and lots of celebrations of anniversaries, honeymoons, birthdays, etc. The entertainment team made the experience worth it!

Beautiful resort! Plenty of restaurant choices and the food was great. Top tier customer service. The staff aimed to please. We stayed on the preferred side of the resort so every request was met! We didn’t get any beach time in because it rained everyday! But they had a variety of activities on the resort! I would visit again!

Fantastic resort. Food and service cannot be better than here. We did deal with the sargassum which sucks but the resort does better than most others at cleaning it up, you just don't get that clear water like you do other months or years ago. Would also highly recommend you don't book until construction is completed. This takes away so much from the beauty of the resort and if you get out near it and are a light sleeper, you will not sleep.

Recommend for solo travelers looking for some peace. ! Service was amazing , food was great, they did not make me feel awkward about being solo.
