Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Some background for my review of Secrets Maroma Beach. Back in 2008 after some exhaustive online research on destination wedding locations we discovered SMB. My wife and I were hooked on this place and have come back every year since. There are plenty of reviews here that detail the rooms, grounds restaurants pools and beach. It's all positive in our opinion, especially when you compare this place to other adult all inclusives. We have seen many changes and improvements here over the years but the one constant has always been service. It's the staff that really makes this place special. No matter whether you are frequent guest or here for the first time you are treated like family. I would like to single out a member of SMB staff who has been an exemplary employee here over the years and continues to improve upon his skills for anticipating and fulfilling the guests needs, and that is Brandon Gomez. His current role is that of concierge of building #26. Brandon has been one of many dedicated employees that has lasted the test of time here and is truly one of the reasons why this resort is so special. So, look no further, this is the place for vacationing couples.

Its a beautiful resort with very kind and helpful staff. I paid extra to go in their Club. I did get a room in a better location and a wonderful concierge but I dont think the Club is good value. It is not really any higher level. The whole resort only offers a few Chilean wines. If you like good wines, you are forced to buy a bottle of wine starting at $80. Most over $100. As for champagne that does not appear anywhere. Unlike Sandals that offer in their luxury level accommodations. To buy at Secrets started at $180 a bottle. Most $250 and more. The Beach club for club members did not offer any better wines. The same bar nenu as far as i coyld see. The club had a private dinner one night for club guests. It was the only night it was open for donner, and then if you wanted to go, you had to pay $150 a person more. The breakfasts in the beach club for members were not good eiher. They could not cook eggs very well, they only offered sliced bread so again, why pay the extra $150 a night to be in the Club? As this resort is 5 star and AAA 5 diamond, i was expecting a higher lever of wine and even some champagne included. Most a la carte restaurants were good,. I had one bad meal the first night but the rest were good. If you want a good standard of 5 star inclusive rssurt and dont care about having wine or champsgne and dont pay extra to go in the private Club, then this is the resort for you. The entertainment was good, not always on the App, so not everyone knew what was on.

This was our second time at this resort and it exceeded even our first experience! The staff is always great but our concierge, Marcelo, went way above and beyond to make our stay special! And Daniel at Portofino’s was spectacular!

We had a wonderful week at Secrets Maroma. The beach was the highlight of our stay. The accommodations were excellent and all requests were fulfilled. All restaurants were as great as promised. Bramdon, our concierge was an excellent host in Building 26. He made our stay even better by being so helpful and obliging. We really hope to return to this resort and will request building 26.

First off, the staff is impeccable very kind the most kind people I’ve ever met! Also shout out to Bramdon the concierge’s of building 26. He is the best ever you guys made our stay magical. We will definitely be returning. Thanks again!
