We have just returned from our 13th trip to the VIM . it was wonderful to see our extended family! Staff is always amazing . When you are there, staff make a point to get to know you or welcome you back as if you never left. The privilege lounge staff are very attentive and helpful. Our concierge was Mario who had been so welcoming and helpful always with a smile on his face. We had the pleasure of meeting him at our previous stay in another building, and this stay as well! He made sure that every thing we needed or wanted was accomplished . Stand outs of staff this trip were :Alfredo at the pool bar and Guillermo, They kept my husband and I smiling and our mugs filled !! Jose the pool concierge, although new to the VIM seemed like he had been there for years making our pool time even more pleasurable. We have in the past had Rosario as our building concierge who is absolutely fantastic as well!!. With every visit we make sure we get to spend some time visiting if we are not in her buildings. We call her our adopted daughter. The food is great with a wide variety for all! At times the service can be slow so be prepared to enjoy the one your with and relax. Other staff members who deserve a shout out are Marlena, Omar and Angel at the the buffets. The entertainment staff Dora and Benny will keep you laughing !! They have so much energy! Angel has been also a wonderful asset to the team and will be greatly missed as he ventures on to new endeavors The shows always entertaining (even after 13 visits) Don't miss the Michael Jackson show!! Our nightly favorite is the piano player. Yan who learned and played our wedding song overnight is always amazing in the Don Miguel lounge.(he takes requests). If you enjoy piano music this is the place to be to enjoy his sounds. If looking for a place to talk loudly please try the sport bar or plaza so others can enjoy. Then there is the plaza for dancing or listening to the band /music under the stars what a perfect way to end the evening. We have stayed at numerous other resorts and have found our way back " home " each time. You can get your party on and have a place to go, want serenity and have a place to go the resort can be at 100% occupancy and you do not feel crowded. The grounds are beautiful as well as the beach. ENJOY. .....we will back soon!!

From the moment we arrived at this wonderful resort to the time our plane left, we were blown away by the kindness and compassion of the Mexican people. My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary there and could not have had a more pleasurable and fun time. From the Go Team-Dora, Bryan, Benny, Carlos, Raymundo, Angel, Daniel and Angelo (if I missed any I’m sorry), to Melina (we will miss you) and Luis at Le Marche, Carlos and Carlos at Mar & Teirra, Luciano at L’Olivo, Alfredo (el jefe) and Jorge at the swim up bar, to our absolutely wonderful housekeeping and turndown ladies (Lorena) in building 3 (never once worried about things being stolen) to the room service guys (especially Felipe). They all made our stay so special. We met so many great people there including our friends from the UK, Iowa, Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee, Ohio (Go Browns), Baltimore (Ravens su…), Michigan, and Barrie ON that we will have fond memories of them our whole life. You can let loose (my wife won a belly dancing contest which netted us a bottle of tequila) or relax by the beach or pools. This resort truly has all your needs covered. The food was excellent as well as the entertainment every night in the theater (Michael Jackson Tribute was our favorite). All of the resort is beautiful, clean and well maintained. So many great activities and fitness classes to choose from. The beach is gorgeous. We loved every second of our stay at the VIM. We are already planning on returning next November and can’t wait to see all the people we now miss so much. We highly recommend this place if you’re thinking of going to Mexico. Bob and Meg

I am currently at Valentin Imperial, Day 4. My issue is humidity. This resort has 8 restaurants, and every single one is open sure. So the only places with air conditioning is the jewelry store and your room. If humidity does not bother you, it's a nice place. One issue on the beach is 2/3 has portable cabanas are reserved for the Privileged Members or $42 a day! The rest of us have to scurry to find two lounging chairs under a thatched umbrella. We upgraded to a better room and they put us on the third floor with no working elevator! We changed the next day. We were attracted to the adults only feature and the good reviews. For me, I have a headache everyday, my sinuses are wracked, and my hands and feet are swollen. I am 65. There seems to be many activities around the pool and evening entertainment in the outdoor plaza. If you go to one of the buffets, you cannot have a Styrofoam container to take a dessert back to your room. The 24 hour room service menu is ok. You cannot get mixed drinks from room service, only beer or wine. We bought morrocas in the hot fight shop and asked them to be wrapped for protection. She said no they only wrap glass items. So, these are the things they do not provide in the description. We habe been to another high end reset many times, and it was so much better! Should have stayed with what we know instead of trying something new. If you are a complete out door person, you will love it!

First thing I want to say is that my wife and I had a lovely time at the valentin. However I am not sure that it is the place for me. My first and biggest gripe is the beach - they advertise their giant beach, what they don't tell you is that 80% of it is rocky so you can only swim in a roped off area that is maybe 100-200 feet. So everybody is crammed in such a small swimming space it makes it uncomfortable. The second issue is that you are not allowed to even walk on the beach after 8pm because of the sea turtles, and they make you get out of the water around 6. Next - Neither my wife or I are big drinkers so the unlimited drinks were a bit of a waste. Food - Most of the food was great. I am not adventurous when it comes to food, but everything we had for dinner was great. Our favorite was the french restaurant which was great, we ate there 3 times. - We were definitely not big fans of the breakfast at the mar and terra the food was all luke warm to cold. Once we found la marche breakfast buffet we enjoyed much more, food still wasn't hot but much warmer and more variety, also I was able to get omelets fresh made. - Make sure you abide by the dress code - they will not let you in if you don't, and it is a LOOONG walk back to your room. I also want to mention that I believe this resort is definitely catered towards an older crowd. My wife and I are in our late 20's and felt a bit out of place, i would put the average age of guests at about 50. Not really a problem but worth noting. Overall it is a lovely hotel with a very friendly staff. I hope that my review is helpful to someone deciding on which resort you would like to stay at in the mayan riviera.
