If your tropical dreams involve having a tiki drink in hand at all times, Valentin Imperial Maya does not disappoint. Guests can while away the days seaside on the wide, half-mile-long Playa del Secreto or float down a meandering pool almost that long – in peace, since the resort is adults-only. Roomy suites outfitted in creamy neutrals have marble floors and a hydrotherapy tub for two. At night, a choice of eight restaurants and 11 bars keep options interesting.

We stayed at the Valentin June 20-26th, in building 4, room 413, which is centrally located. We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite room, king bed. We tend to travel to the Caribbean about every 4 months. Just so you know this was our 26th trip to Mexico. We loved this resort. The short walk to the pool, to the restaurants, the cleanliness of the resort was all top notch. I have Celiac Disease (which means I'm gluten free) and everyone made sure that this was brought to the staffs attention. They have a churros cart, that my husband enjoyed nightly. lol. The beach was a mess while we were there. Everyday they did try to clean the beach but mother nature had other plans. So, we never were able to get in the ocean. The pool chairs would fill up early. People would be out putting towels, books, etc. on the chairs by the pool by 6 a.m. By 8:30 a.m. you would be hard pressed to find a chair in the shade. Not sure if this had to do with people not being able to sit down by the beach or not. They do have blue lounge floaties but those also were taken early. People would put those under their chairs or put their drinks on them and walk around the pool with them. So, as a suggestion bring your own. Loved Cecelia at Dona Miguel and at the Ginger restaurant Jesus was our favorite waiter. Would I go back to Valentin? Yes! Would I recommend Valentin? Again, yes.

As a returning customer, we stayed at the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya from June 1–6, 2025, and had a deeply disappointing experience. Despite the resort’s beautiful grounds, our stay was overshadowed by serious issues and poor customer service. Before booking, we were offered a special promotion for a complimentary photo session, which was one of the reasons we chose this resort to celebrate a birthday. However, the resort failed to coordinate or deliver the promotion, forcing us to waste hours of our vacation chasing staff for answers—adding unnecessary stress to what should have been a restful vacation. To make matters worse, we were served desserts in our room that were infested with bugs that my hubby unknowingly consumed after a night of dinner/show/dancing. This is a shocking and unacceptable hygiene failure. When we tried calling both front desk numbers from the room phone, no one answered, and we had to clean the mess ourselves. We repeatedly raised these concerns with management, but staff were dismissive. We were not offered a new room, offer to spray the bug infested area of the room, nor any level of courtesy that one would expect. Things happen but the Valentin should have provided better customer service. Since returning home, I have submitted a detailed formal complaint and followed up multiple times with both resort management and their corporate office. Weeks later, I have yet to receive a satisfactory resolution. I strongly urge anyone considering this resort to re-think their decision. Apparently others have had bad experiences including finding a poisonous snake in their room, roaches, and have had theft. Anyone expecting professional service, reliability, or accountability—especially if you’re planning a special occasion, consider other resorts. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.

Highly recommend! I was enjoying every single moment in this gorgeously done resort. Loving, hard working people did they best to make the whole experience even better. Was so happy to be here and experience the beauty of Mexican culture and hospitality. We will be back as soon as possible. Gracias Mexico! 🇲🇽
