My family had a wonder experience at the Villa del Palmar. Great pools, except they were a bit warm 95F. Beach access was nice and we got to rent for free kayaks and SUPs. the staff was very warm and the breakfast buffer was awesome!! The only drawback is that it is not near downtown or the hotel zone and you had to go through a poor part of town and jungle to get there. AND you have to watch out for the local police which are camped every day on the road to this hotel to catch speeders and then ask them for a bribe. We also tried one of the restaurants there and the food was very good. i would recommend this place if you are just staying onsite with all inclusive and do not want to go to the Mayan Riveria, which is a bit far. Great to get to Isla Mujeres though./

We stayed again this year for two weeks...and have done for five years. The site itself is very lovely but the rooms are showing many signs of aging. Nothing has been changed or upgraded in five years. The furniture is soiled and aging, the decor fixtures are chipped and old and the glasses are chipped and cracked. We do not take the all inclusive meal plan as we find the price unacceptable and the restaurants are not great. The prices are very expensive and the quality of food simply does not live up to the price. Will we go back again...likely because we have a time share.....but it certainly would not be my choice....not to mention the sales tactics used to try to get an upgrade....not in God’s green earth!

This resort is the best one I have ever been to for many reasons. The resort was not near the hotel zone it was more secluded so I felt safer. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The food though was what really set it apart! I was expecting to get decent food when I chose the all-inclusive package, but I was wrong. All the restaurants were fantastic! I really loved the steakhouse, the sushi place, and Davino's which was Mediterranean. The thing that we didn't find out till the last few days of our trip was that the all-inclusive package was indeed all-inclusive. Appetizers and desserts were included and you could order as much of anything as you wanted. Few items were off-limits, but for the most part you could eat whatever. We even ate dinner twice at two different places on our last night! Another great thing about this resort was that something was always going on. There was always an activity for everyone whether it be paddle boarding, volleyball, or even aqua zumba. The beach was good not the best one I've ever seen, but it was still pretty. I recommend going in the morning and at sunset. I strongly recommend booking through costco travel because it provided transportation to and from the airport along with the room and flight.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite on the 6th floor. Great view of the Caribbean Sea. The staff is very friendly and respectful. The property is well maintained and beautiful. Not sure why there didn't seem to be many people staying here during the week but we didn't complain. Plenty of lounge chairs on the white sand beach and NO vendors pestering you to buy their wares as you get at less remote resorts. Transportation is necessary to get into central Cancun but public buses are as low as 10 pesos. The resort is a quarter of a mile from the Isla Majures ferry. For 3 USD you can take a 40 minute boat ride to the island. The Palmita Market is an economical way to avoid restaurant menu prices as we did not have an all inclusive package. We did eat in the restaurants and the food is good. Prices are on par with what we pay at restaurants in Pittsburgh. We had the spa treatment and is was excellent.

Wow! Where do I begin? This truly has been one of the best hotels that we have stayed at. We stayed here from 27th December to 10th January, so it was a long stay. Not only was the hotel beautifully cleaned and maintained but the staff... They were on another level. They were so polite and could not do more for us. Friendly and attentive is an understatement. My partner proposed to me at this hotel, on the pier to be exact and it was mesmerising. He would not have been able to pull it off if it wasn't for the staff there and someone in particular went above and beyond, David Gonzalez. He is a manager there and even came in on his day off to help set up the scene. He was unbelievable! My partner actually pulled his back at the end of the holiday and needed assistance for the last few days of our trip and there David was again to help. He provided us with a wheelchair and helped us get back on track. He became our friend towards the end of the holiday and we will never forget what he and the other hotel staff did for us. What an amazing holiday - one we will never forget!!! Thank you Villa Del Palmar!!!!! :)
