Luxury Residences by Villa del Palmar Cancun

There are so many staff members that made our trip wonderful: Mario at breakfast every day. Always smiling. We always made sure we were at his table. He couldn't do enough for us. Jose and Jorge at the pool. They always kept our ice and drinks coming. Alejandro at the pool. He always made sure we had chairs at the pool, and a cabana at the beach. Victor at the beach. He was great! When we first arrived, my husband's lens from his eyeglasses fell out. He found it, but Cruz (at the bell stand) found the screw and fixed them for him. We were astounded that someone would be so nice. The 2 waiters who did a great job were Adrian at Davinos, and Miguel at Carbonas. They were the ones who stood out to me. Thank you all for a GREAT vacation.

We have stayed at this resort many times. However, it appears to be in need of some significant maintenance. When we arrived, our first room had a huge word appeared to be a fecal stain on the rug. They got us a new room. The new room Was nice and appearance. However, the air conditioning did not function and after several calls, we eventually gave up on them trying to repair it. The Safe would only work if we could use the code 0000. They did eventually repair this however we carried our passports for the first two days. The TV remote did not function and we had to make several calls before this was repaired. The sheer curtain and the blackout curtain are electric and would sometimes open and close randomly without either of us controlling it. As in our previous visits, the food was wonderful and the staff at the desk and in the restaurants are efficient, polite, and very accommodating. However, the air conditioning not being up to par was uncomfortable, and we spent any of our nights sleeping without any sort of a blanket and just laying on top of the bed we would think long and hard before we returned to this resort.Our experience was subpar, and this is not a cheap establishment.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE DOING ANYTHING IMPORTANT! We stayed here for a week before my wedding that we are doing in a neighboring hotel. The day before we needed to check out, my fiancé was dropping me off for my make-up and hair at the other hotel since it was the start of our wedding. Most of our family and everyone was still at this hotel. They wouldn’t let us leave until they took our bracelets EVEN THOUGH we were coming back and still had the room for an additional night. They didn’t care that they were making us late for our wedding. In addition to that, we found blood on the sheets the first night and dirt and hair all over the jacuzzi tub that the maid refused to clean and said we had to wait for maintenance the next day. The front desk treated us all horribly the entire time and as if we should thank them for even talking to us. Only Octavio at the front desk was nice and helpful.

Currently stuck at this place. Planning on early check out tomorrow. I was so excited to arrive. It looked like luxury but 2 star delivery. The food is expensive and basic. Plan for $200-500 US$ a meal for two people at the very least. There is nowhere to get your own meals or snacks. If you have dietary needs this is not the place to be. (Lunches about $200 and dinners are more) The air conditioning has been broken in the entire hotel for since I arrived. Not a huge deal however no one told us on arrival and when I asked about it being broken they asked if I knew how to use the thermostat rather than fessing up….. after a night of not sleeping I went to the concierge sleep deprived and Only then did they divulge that the entire building has been down for days. As of yet Still no actual time as to when it might be fixed. Worst of all, I witnesses an incident where The hotel handled a physical threat and verbal assault from one guest to 4 separate parties very poorly. They decided that the person Making threats was fine to stay and everyone else just has to deal. Very strange. There are roaches in the grates around the main pool. (yes… cockroaches… ) I’m not sure if this is a larger problem but that’s where I saw them. All guest checks include gratitude already in very tiny type, and in large type leave additional space for More . I don’t mind leaving larger tips but NOT when it’s explicitly trying to hide the already included grat Weather was beautiful and I love Mexico in general but I Won’t ever come back to this resort. The Villa del palmar in Cabo is much nicer and better value, and I’ve stayed at 5 other yucutan locations where my money was better spent and I left relaxed. This is my first ever BAD Mexico vacation. I’ll chalk it up to bad luck and press along. Just my two cents for what it’s worth.

Our room was extremely beautiful and all the employees were super nice to us! I want to make a special mention to Edgar from the front desk and all the receptionist that talk to us, very helpful and friendly! All the restaurants were delicious, was our anniversary and they make sure that we had very cute desserts
