Casa Velas Boutique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Adults-only all-inclusive Casa Velas Boutique Hotel keeps true to its Mexican surroundings and adds a touch of Asian Zen – terracotta floors and wood-beam ceilings give guestrooms a casita feel, while serpentine koi ponds surround a tranquil lagoon-like pool area. Though it's a short drive from downtown Puerto Vallarta, Casa Velas feels like a secluded island. The manicured greens of an award-winning golf course lay just beyond the botanical gardens, and a private beach club is a shuttle ride away.

Call room service – it's complimentary 24 hours a day – and feast in bed on a plate of coconut French toast. Get your fix of the ocean early on then catch a ride into town. Sample homemade salsa and artisanal Mexican chocolate at the farmers’ market. Dedicate the rest of the afternoon to the palm-shaded pool and its swim-up bar, asking the bartender to whip up a local concoction. Savor a main course of crab timbale with avocado-lime mayonnaise.

I can only repeat the glowing reviews for Casa Velas! My husband and I were pampered, but never pestered. Superb service at all pools and restaurants, amazing food, snacks and drinks. Best skinny margaritas ever from Roberto and Fredy! Our concierge, Jorge, was always on hand to help with recommendations, etc. Enrique was the most charming driver, ever. Live mariachi music at dinner was exceptional. The pictures online are beautiful, but in person you will be staggered by the perfection of each area. We loved having two pool experiences--up at the glamorous lobby area and down at the beach club. Also, the room amenities and stocked refrigerator were the most high end products we've seen in our travels. We can absolutely recommend Casa Velas for an adult, all-inclusive, relaxing get away.

This review should've been up years ago. My husband and I have been to Casa Velas 3 times over 3 years. This resort is the reason we come back to Puerto Vallarta. The first year we visited- the airline lost my luggage and Casa Velas took it upon themselves to locate and make sure my luggage was in my room the next day. That set the precedence for the rest of the trip. The service is superb, the food is delicious and the resort itself is hard to leave. Each year- the staff remember's mu husband and I and welcome us like family. They also have a beach club just a shuttle ride away. Of you're looking for a REAL relaxing getaway- book Casa Velas. **if you go, look for Freddie to make you an amazing cocktail!

This was our fourth visit to the resort and it continues to impress us with its amazing hospitality. While it was the slow season and occupancy was low, no effort was spared. There was live music each evening, including a very skilled mariachi band several nights, margarita making class, Bellini night, wine tasting, and even a painting class with a local artist. We were there celebrating a birthday and were surprised and delighted by balloons, cake and a chilled bottle of champagne in our room after returning from a morning in town. The celebration continued at dinner with more serenading by the band (thanks guys!) and yet another birthday dessert. This trip we finally took advantage of the ability to have a dinner at the sister resort Grand Velas. We chose the French restaurant where they really outdid themselves. Such treats as duck confit pastry, seared scallops, and apple tartlet with goat cheese ice cream. The food was amazing, the service attentive and the atmosphere very elegant. Of course, we felt the same about coming "home" to Casa Velas and Emiliano's, the restaurant on site. We also enjoyed treatments at the spa. The prices are extremely reasonable for a resort and the services very professional. The spa offers lots of little touches like juice and fruit after your treatment while relaxing before taking a trip to the jacuzzi or sauna. You can easily spend several hours here just relaxing. Service at the pool and beach club were outstanding also! The common thread everywhere at the resort is the true sincerity with which each person you interact seems to wish to help you and ensure you are having a wonderful experience. In particular, the concierges were very active in offering ideas and completing reservations for us, including arranging for transportation to the botanical gardens south of town. We are already counting the days until we can return!

We simply love this resort! It is so incredible.. the grounds are stunning and the service is beyond exceptional. It never feels crowded, no rushing to save a seat at the pool, no crazy music or kids.. just pure relaxation. This was our fourth visit and it was just as great as our first.. Maybe better! This time we spent one day at the beach club and it was really fun! We were surprised we hadn't done it before. Don't miss paella night at the beach club either! Its delicious. If you are looking for an affordable luxury getaway this resort is hard to beat.

This was our third consecutive year at Casa Velas and each visit it just gets better. We were totally spoilt and I can't think of any where more relaxing and perfect to stay. We stayed in room 505 first floor overlooking the golf course. This boutique hotel has 80 rooms and has a lovely homely feel about it. The grounds around the hotel are beautiful. It is very quiet in July/August which we love. The food in Emiliano's and at the beach club is truly excellent. Room service breakfast was such a lovely experience , sitting on our patio overlooking the golf course joined by a few peacocks. Your every need is catered for at Casa Velas if there is something you want see Caesar the food and beverage manager. This year we participated in the yoga lessons which was a great way to start the day .(hot yoga 😂) The reason this wonderful hotel is so amazing for us is because of the staff. Headed by the lovely manager Karina Zuniga who is always around and very approachable. We would also like to acknowledge Jorge (concierge) lovely Luz, Daniel, Victor, Bernadino , Jorge ( Emiliano's ) Freddy, Andrea, and the other lady(pool bar) Clara ,Miguel Angelo, Jorge ( beach bar) Alejandro (beach club and hotel ) and of course Benny. This year we celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary at Casa Velas and hopping to spend our 33rd wedding anniversary at Casa Velas next year. Maybe for 3 weeks as it's a long way to come from England. Thank you Casa Velas David & Petina Lancey
