Casa Velas Boutique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Adults-only all-inclusive Casa Velas Boutique Hotel keeps true to its Mexican surroundings and adds a touch of Asian Zen – terracotta floors and wood-beam ceilings give guestrooms a casita feel, while serpentine koi ponds surround a tranquil lagoon-like pool area. Though it's a short drive from downtown Puerto Vallarta, Casa Velas feels like a secluded island. The manicured greens of an award-winning golf course lay just beyond the botanical gardens, and a private beach club is a shuttle ride away.

Call room service – it's complimentary 24 hours a day – and feast in bed on a plate of coconut French toast. Get your fix of the ocean early on then catch a ride into town. Sample homemade salsa and artisanal Mexican chocolate at the farmers’ market. Dedicate the rest of the afternoon to the palm-shaded pool and its swim-up bar, asking the bartender to whip up a local concoction. Savor a main course of crab timbale with avocado-lime mayonnaise.

It has been a month now and my wife and I are still reminiscing about our stay at Casa Velas. It's difficult to find fault with anything they do. From the moment you arrive until the day you depart the people at Casa Velas bend over backwards to ensure your stay is the best it can be. I could go on about the golf, food, accommodations, and the view from the private beach club but I truly believe it was the staff that made all of that so much better. Enjoy your vacation, you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at our favourite resort in Mexico. The staff are always amazing, lead by manager Karina, and supported by Jorges who is now a concierge, Cruz, Freddy, Benny, Bernardino, Alfredo and Ricardo. Each always tried to make our stay even better. At the Beach Club, Daniel and his crew were always helpful and very accommodating to our requests. Angela in housekeeping always does special hints like bringing little bouquets of fresh flowers for our room. Each year things get better and we can't wait to go back. The weather this year over Easter was amazing and this certainly made the holiday season much more enjoyable. PV is a great city and the area is beautiful. But for us, it is always about seeing the staff who have become like family over the years and are one of the main reasons we return each year. Muchas gracias a todos! Arlene and Dick Seeley.

A smaller resort that is not on the water but provides an excellent shuttle anytime requested to the beach 2 minutes away. The property is maintained extremely well. The staff we encountered were all very helpful, friendly, and courteous. We got the impression from the staff that they enjoyed working at the resort and went over and above the normal. The food services were awesome. There are other multiple dining options at their two sister resorts also 2 minutes away by shuttle.

My husband and I just got back last night from 10 wonderful days at Casa Velas, a Boutique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We have been vacationing down in PV for the last 16 years. I can say our best vacations down there have been the last 5 years while staying at Casa Velas, our home away from home. We are always feel so relaxed, spoiled and pampered every time we go down there. The minute we walk through their doors we hear the same thing every year, "Welcome home!" From the welcome drinks and neck massages when we first walk in to the gourmet food in their two restaurants, Emiliano and the private Beach Club, everything there is pretty incredible. The grounds are so beautiful with their lush tropical gardens. The staff is so very friendly and very eager to help us as we learn more Spanish. Some of our favorite staff.. Jorge( Concierge) Richardo ( morning waitstaff at Emiliano)Bernadino( evening waitstaff at Emiliano) and Daniel, Jorge and Ramon at their private Beach Club.Ask Bernadino, Daniel or Ramon to make their Spanish Coffee. It is quite a unique treat! One of the many cool things about this boutique hotel is that we always meet new people that turn into being new friends that we actually stay in-touch with year-round. Once you stay at Casa Velas you will come back again...year after year. I give Casa Velas another 5 star rating!

My husband and I had 3 lovely nights at CV and feel it is very good value for money. Wonderful staff and gorgeous surroundings. A true Mexican feeling. Our room was a bit dark in the mornings because the light was blocked by outside trees so request a room with plenty of light. Otherwise it's great.
