Velas Vallarta

This is our review of our all-inclusive stay at Velas Vallarta from 26 May 2026 to 2 June 2026 with a two bedroom apartment. From day 1, when we arrived at Velas Vallarta, we were greeted by the reception with a smile and recognition. We have been there so many times that we have developed relationships with members of the staff. As we were checking in, we saw our friend Rafael from the excursion booking center, and he immediately said, "Friends, welcome home". He is always the first face that I look for upon entering the building. So we give a special shout-out to our friend and brother, Rafael. If you want full knowledge of where to go and things to see, look no further. Thank you, Rafael! At the pool, we saw our friend Antonio, the bar tender at the pool bar. He welcomed us and remembered us from our previous visits. Antonio will make you any cocktail that you want. He is kind and can multitask like no other. You will not have to wait for a cocktail with Antonio behind the bar. As we spent our entire stay at the pool this trip, we were looking for our friend and my brother Marcelino. We learned that he was now working at the Andrea as a server. So we typically have dinner at the Andrea and breakfast and lunch at the Ribera. We made reservations and requested Marcelino as our server. We greeted each other with open arms and hugs. Marcelino always listens with the most attentive ears to us and even more our 11-year-old daughter. Her conversation with him is like a grandfather talking to his granddaughter. Marcelino was great at his service at dinner, just as he was great working poolside as a server. He is fun, kind, loving, and overall a consummate professional in whatever job he is working. We truly miss him and his character out there at the pool, and it would be great to have him back at pool service again. He truly makes your day because of his character, work ethic, and professionalism. We also want to give a shout-out to Raul at the Andrea. He is a fantastic server, and he also waited on us this visit. Marcelino and Raul always carried our plates back from the buffet and provided outstanding service at dinner during our stay. During our stay we absolutely loved dining at the Ribera as it has the best view and breeze from the Bay. We were always greeted with smiles and conversation with the manager Christina and her staff. We really appreciated the service from Rogelio at the Ribera. This man can read the room! A true down to earth guy that was our waiter several times during our stay. He always had a great smile and like to tell us things to brighten our day and meal as we dined. Last but not least, the most important person of all was our housekeeper Ariana Lopez. She always made sure that our room was spotless and kept our fridge full. She was always kind and always greeted us like family. Velas is our home away from home. I have never met more kind people in my life. We give this resort five stars. I have been a member at this resort for 10 years now and I love to keep coming back to visit and see my friends that work at Velas.

Vellas Vallarta is a perfect resort for families. I attended with three generations and we all enjoyed it. We selected this resort because it was a short drive from the airport, had family-friendly activities and was a relatively small property as compared to some other all-inclusives. We found all those qualities helpful when traveling with small children. There were mainly couples of all ages at the resort, far more than families with young children like ours. The resort is meticulously clean and maintained with lush vegetation and a couple of iguanas and peacocks in residence. There were plenty of shaded areas at the pools. The grandkids enjoyed the kids-club activities which gave them something to do when they needed a break from the sun and water. The staff are exceptional. Without exception they were friendly and helpful. The service was really top-notch. There are activities and entertainment provided throughout the day and evening. If you want a large raucous party scene or a sprawling property with lots of restaurants etc. this will not be a good fit. If you are a foodie you may be disappointed. It’s easy to uber or taxi around to see the surrounding areas. We enjoyed a snorkeling excursion as well as exploring the town on our own. We were so pleased we will likely make this a yearly family event.

Since I go every year....because this is best resort in PV...my complaints are only to hopefully have these issues resolved. My trips are usually in the early part of May as I like to go when it is low census. Some of the amenities are reduced & rightly so. The food on the whole is outstanding. Although, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME OFF TO THE AIRPORT WITH THE DRY, TASTELESS COOKIES! Not the last thing I want to remember about my stay. Everything is kept spotless & thank goodness they've gone to electric garden machinery as the horrible noisy previous ones were unbearable around the pool. And, ladies, bring your hair conditioner! Only shampoo is provided. My hair was like straw after a week. Now, most hotels provide shampoo with conditioner if they don't provide a separate bottle of conditioner...not here! Most 5 star hotels provide 2 firm pillows & 2 soft pillows. These king size pillows are the 'new' look great.... but totally uncomfortable. I recently spent 2 weeks in NZ. Only 2 of the 10 places we stayed had hard & SOFT pillows. So I'm assuming this is the new norm. Perhaps people have never slept on a comfortable pillow...or they bring their own? I certainly don't want to have to pack my own pillow but after a week of torture this may go on my packing list....ugh! Staff is warm & friendly...always. If you order from the pool remember you can get something off Andre's lunch menu...not just the poolside menu. Highly recommended. I also had a fabulous Vitamin C facial. I would like to be informed as we go along: this is the cleanser, now I'm applying...'put in product', now I'm using this machine, etc. While the face mask was on you get a fabulous food massage & then they wrap your feet in hot towels. Then you get a scalp massage & and hand & arm massage, Worth every peso!

We have been coming to fellow Vallarta for at least 10 years. It’s hard to put everything in just a few words. We have made many friends over the years. And look forward to going each and every spring. The hotel, staff and pool wait staff our second to none.

This year was our 3rd visit to Velas, and it keeps getting better! Management listens to visitor suggestions as we have seen some improvements over from previous visits. Most notably are the brand new pool loungers are chairs. Also the resort was in the process of changing beer brands over to Modelo and Corona. There are a lot of great things we enjoy at Velas. The wifi is excellent throughout the resort. The rooms are clean and the grounds are spectacular. The evening shows are good, we really enjoy the casino/kareokee night. The food at both restaurants is very good, we notice the beef quality was excellent this year. Drinks were always good and very available. The best thing we like about Velas is the service. Employee turnover seems very low as we meet up with the same workers each year. They work extremely hard to please the guests. We know when we come we will be spoiled beyond any other resort we have been to. Some people I would like to acknowledge are: Ivan our pool side pleaser, he always goes above and beyond. Eric also did a great job the few days we sat in his area. All the guys at the pool bar especially Antonio. Our friends at Ribera led by Christina she would visit at breakfast to make sure we were happy. Giovani and Jorge at breakfast always took care of us. Mimosa, coffee and kids drinks always waiting for us. Breakfast is always a favorite. Diego at supper had us covered. These people take pride in their work and it shows. We will can’t wait to be back at Velas!
