Velas Vallarta

Resort Grounds and Pools: 9/10. Everything is kept in immaculate condition, the staff are constantly working to keep it pristine. It feels like you’re in a tropical paradise. The pools are very nice. Lots of nice shaded areas. One slight bummer is the situation where everyone puts out towels on their chairs very early in the morning, but doesn’t actually use the chairs. I’d prefer if the staff removed the towels from unused chairs so you could actually find one in the shade. Rooms: 9/10. I’ve heard them described as dated, but ours felt very modern and nice. Air conditioning worked great. Staff were quick for anything we needed like extra blankets, or clogged shower. One surprise: Our 1-bedroom suite didn’t actually have a sofa-bed despite the description and floor plan showing one. Our kids slept on the two arms of the sectional couch, which worked fine for us since they wouldn’t be kicking each other. If I had really wanted a sofa bed, I would have complained. Staff: 10/10. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, regardless if it was at restaurant, room service, house cleaning, front desk, etc. Shout out to Ernesto, our favourite waiter who made my wife’s birthday special. Food: 7/10. The only thing that was lower than my expectations. It was a bit monotonous, and not particularly high-end. The buffet options at the two restaurants weren’t super appealing. The best food was generally at Andrea at night, where you needed to make reservations each morning. We only got room service a few times, but the taco meal was excellent. The drinks were great, and the kids loved the swim up bar. Notes: * There are only 2 restaurants, Andrea (fancier) and La Ribera (by the ocean, more casual). The website listed a third restaurant opening in November but we didn’t see one as of Nov 15th. There was a crepe bar in the lobby open in the afternoon. * Even Andrea has a kids menu, which is great for picky eaters. * The dress code on the handout was different than what was listed on the website. Andrea: “Casual/Elegant T-shirt or shirt with sleeves. Dress pants/shorts, closed toe shoes. No beachwear or sport shorts.” La Ribera: “Shirt with sleeves.” We were stressed out before traveling but it wasn’t a big deal once we were there. It wasn’t strictly enforced. You don’t need to bring pants or even closed toes shoes. Don’t overthink it.

My husband and I got married at Velas Vallarta during Dia de Los Muertos Weekend. Michele the wedding coordinator was top tier. She was prompt, had effective communication, and made sure my vision came to life. If you plan to get married here in Puerto Vallarta, you can not go wrong by choosing Velas Vallarta. Our wedding guests raved about how nice everything was. The grounds of Velas is stunning, you truly feel tucked away in a tropical paradise with the koi fish river, lush gardens, and peacocks. The rooms are very clean and the views are beautiful. The staff here if very kind and helpful. It was a plus to have daily events that we could attend, as well as access to the spa services and gym. This all inclusive resort is just a quick 7 min drive from the airport which allows for immediate relaxation after traveling. One of my favorite things is that you are greeted in the lobby with a cold towel and refreshing beverage. We will definitely be returning to Velas again.

We are so happy we chose Velas Vallarta Beach Club to host our intimate wedding reception in May 2025 - it exceeded our expectations. The venue offers a beautiful views and plenty of perfect photo spots. The food was delicious, and our guests were truly impressed. A heartfelt thanks to our coordinator, Michele, who managed every detail with professionalism, calm, and genuine positivity-and surprised us with a touch of mariachi that made the moment truly unforgettable. If you’re considering this place for a special event, I genuinely recommend it. Michele was always available to answer our questions, share her expertise, and help us create a wedding that fit both our style and our budget. Thanks to this amazing team, our wedding was heartfelt, beautifully coordinated, and truly memorable!

Honestly, hands down the best experience I’ve had with all inclusive resort and my wedding went as smoothly as any bride can ask for. Michele was the best, always supper responsive - even though we were in different countries. Always made time for all of my silly request, the entire staff was wonderfully no matter which area of the hotel you were at. I appreciate them and mostly Michele. Definitely recommend for vacation, weddings, or anything you need.

Beautiful warm location. Very close to the airport. Cheap uber ride into the city if you’re looking to do that. Relaxing and picturesque atmosphere at the resort. Large, clean rooms that stay nice and cool. Couldn’t hear anyone else while staying in the room. Service at the restaurants and pool is great. Edwin and Marcelino by the pool and Hector at Andrea’s provided us an especially great experience. Christian the manager helped us with any questions we had and constantly checked in to ensure we were enjoying our experience. He made it feel like the resort really cared that we were having a good time. If you’re looking for an all inclusive experience and chilling in the sun for a week, 10/10 would recommend. Staff is great!
