Velas Vallarta

We have been visiting Velas Vallarta for many years, typically during Easter break. I make it a point to provide an honest and consistent review after each stay, as maintaining fairness and accuracy is important. For context, we are from the NY/NJ area and have experienced a wide range of resorts and service standards. Velas Vallarta is not simply a resort it delivers a true customer service experience, and that distinction is evident in every detail. While the property itself is more established, it is immaculately maintained. Grounds are power washed daily, landscaping is meticulously manicured, and every staff member offers a warm smile and greeting. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed “home” by Miguel and the bell staff, setting the tone immediately. Veronica ensured a seamless check-in, with our rooms ready before noon—an impressive and much appreciated touch. At a time when many properties have reduced services, Velas continues to exceed expectations with nightly turndown service, reinforcing their commitment to a full-service experience. Requests no matter how small are handled promptly, often within minutes. You are not treated as just a guest; you are genuinely cared for. The pool area has seen notable upgrades, including new, high-end lounge chairs and tables that are both comfortable and plentiful. A particularly thoughtful and innovative touch is the presence of a trained hawk and handler, allowing guests to enjoy poolside dining without interruption from birds an exceptional and creative solution. Despite the common practice of reserving chairs, there are more than enough accommodations for all guests. Poolside service was outstanding. Christian consistently ensured every detail was handled, while Jacinto and Marcelino delivered exceptional service. Carlos and Eric were equally attentive, regularly checking in to ensure a seamless experience. Even as teenagers, my daughters continue to enjoy visiting Erika at the kids club, whether to say hello or participate in activities like cooking classes an indication of the lasting relationships this team builds. The activities staff truly offers something for every age group. Please find Javier by the pool with his drink cart. He has designed a four page menu of craft cocktails that are hand made and balanced perfectly. The bar does a great job however, Javiers cocktails are slightly superior from the muttled kiwi with tequilla to the multiple prosecco offerings. The fitness center is well-equipped for a complete workout, and the spa features highly skilled therapists who provide exceptional and relaxing treatments. This year we tried something new and took a family pickleball lesson which was phenominal. What consistently distinguishes Velas is its ability to accommodate every guest’s needs. I personally observed guests with celiac disease dine without concern for cross-contamination. Even when items were not listed on the menu, the staff responded with a simple “of course” and delivered. This level of attentiveness, flexibility, and awareness is both rare and commendable. One of the highlights of our stay was the Vallarta BBQ, which featured outstanding cuisine from talented chefs and pitmasters over several days. A special recognition to Francisco and Howard, whose BBQ was exceptional. This event was truly memorable and, hopefully, becomes a recurring tradition. What truly sets Velas apart is its people. Their commitment to service goes beyond professionalism they take the time to know you and your family. A sincere thank you to Millie (Manager at Andrea for lunch and breakfast), whose leadership is clearly reflected in her team. Breakfast each morning was elevated by Angel, Allan, Jorge, Suzy, Pilar, and Edgar, whose warmth and attentiveness never went unnoticed. Dinner service was equally impressive thanks to Ernesto and Ramiro, along with Raul, Francisco, and Julio (Junior and Senior). Omar (Manager) ensured operations ran seamlessly. Ernesto, in particular, has become like family his genuine hospitality creates an experience that is both personal and memorable. The dining experience itself is exceptional, with fresh, made-to-order offerings such as carved meats and house-made pasta elevating each meal. Most of the evenings we were greeted by Spyder the magician who provides some entertainment for your table while you are enjoying your food. At La Ribera Restaurant, Cristina (Manager) and Paulina provided outstanding service during lunch, supported by Roberto and Ricardo, whose attention to detail enhanced every visit. Juan Carlos, one of the managers, is consistently present and engaged, ensuring guests are enjoying their stay and that every need is met. Velas Vallarta does not simply meet expectations—it anticipates them. They do not just serve guests—they care for them. If you need something, simply ask. Whether it’s a special occasion or a small request, the team will go above and beyond to make it memorable. We will continue to return to Velas Vallarta year after year. The only challenge is that every other vacation we take is inevitably compared to this experience—and to date, nothing has come close.

Velas Vallarta exceeded our hopes in every way! Our family had our Dream Vacation here. The All Suites is perfect for families traveling. We had three rooms, our two kids and their spouses and children each had a private three bedroom suite, with two bathrooms and a full kitchen, dining and living room. This rooms were spacious, very clean and fresh. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the pillows a dream, we enjoyed the best sleep. The staff who helped in the suites were awesome. Thank you to Hilaria, she kept our room fresh and clean every day. The staff at Andreas was exceptional. Many thanks to Raul, Hector, Ricardo, Luis, Angel, Allen, Miranda, Ernesto and the amazing chef at the omelette station, she made the best eggs. The Staff at the pool bar was great and always watching out for everyone. One staff member said the kids would feel like they were right at home by day 2 and they really were. Incredible staff at the front dest, Performance Staff was excellent and the Magician was absolutely magical! The staff at the restaurant at the beach were so welcoming, and always set us a beautiful table. We were fortunate to be there for their very special Pit Master Special, two nights of incredibly talented Pit Bosses, who shared extraordinary food with us. The pools were great fun and the kids lived in there when they were not body surfing in the ocean or building sand castles. The pools were kept at a lovely temperature that allowed the kids to literally play in them till suppertime. The kids were crazy about the resident Peacocks and fish who lived at the Velas. They were able to feed the fish with pellets and they loved that. Towel service was great by the pool and we had a great experience with staff and other visitors around the pool and resort. The gardens were so beautiful and so well maintained the natural canopy's of vines or tree tops to sit under were gorgeous. Certainly felt like paradise. One of the #1 reasons we chose Velas Vallarta is because our granddaughter, who is 8, is a severe Celiac. The executive Chef spoke with her family and knew her needs and in all restaurants she was perfectly cooked for. She felt so special, they baked fresh buns for her daily and special deserts, pancakes, beautiful meals, she was so pleased, never left out. Last but not least, this resort is only a ten minute bus ride from the airport so we did not lose precious hours of our trip to long rides down the coast. We loved the location and we did two day trips to go surfing, cliff jumping and some snorkelling. Very easy. **We also enjoyed some activities with the entertainment staff, such as great daily selection. Water aerobics, Mexican Bingo, Beach VolleyBall, Water Volleyball, Paint Class and Jewelry Making. The younger kids enjoyed the kids club and were able to do some crafts and faceprinting :) Velas Vallarta felt so comfortable, a very Classic Resort. ***** Many thanks from our entire Family

Had a great experience at velas vallarta. Kids club had a variety of games and activities for the kids and the whole resort was very family friendly. Very spacious clean rooms and great service. Convenient location for the marina and airport.

This resort is incredible! So clean and the food and service are excellent! All the amenities are perfect and provide the best vacation and relaxation! We can’t wait to come back!

We went here for Spring break with my 16 year old son and 18 year daughter and my husband. We had a wonderful week here beautiful grounds, all the staff was very friendly and the food options had lots of variety and was pretty good. No complaints. We upgraded to a 3 bedroom and it was very nice and lots of room and gorgeous views.
