Velas Vallarta

As Muslim travelers, we're particular about halal food. I arranged ahead of time to have halal meat delivered to the hotel on my own and coordinated with the hotel staff to receive the shipment. Chef Roberto personally handled our culinary needs for the duration of our stay which was fantastic. My sincere thanks to Roberto and his incredible staff. Food is abundant, varied and of high quality. General service is impeccable. Beach could be better to be honest but that's not in the control of the hotel of course. We still spent most of our time in the ocean.

We can't say enough good things about Velas Vallarta!! We have been her at least times and they never disappoint! From the way we are treated upon arrival until departure we are made to feel like family! Miguel always makes sure we get where we need to go safely and helps us with directions. Cindy at the front desk is always a welcome smile and we are so excited to see she is about to have a new baby...congratulations Cindy!! The pool staff without question makes our trips so enjoyable. They meet our every need Victor and Sal are top notch waiters and we love to see them every year. Christian keeps the pool are fun and running smoothly and Roberto i think the activities director has a smile that is contagious...even if he did beat me at backgammon!! You owe me a rematch!! Can't wait to see you all next year!!! Ps. Love the new pool furniture!

Hotel manager Juan Carlos Lopez Ruiz really made sure the beach experience was perfect Room was perfect so comfortable and clean Extra pillows and blankets even sterilized and in bags

I love that Velas is old Mexican architecture not the new Puerto Vallarta high rises that look like Miami on the beach. Oh, and you can walk out from the pool to the beach. You can also walk to Marina Vallarta which has restaurants, assorted shops and a laundry service. The staff is friendly and always willing to assist. They feel like family.

This is a lovely, older resort with gorgeous mature landscaping, old world charm. While not super luxury, it certainly has everything you need, and is very spacious and charming. Pools are lovely, and love that you can hear the waves crashing on the beach from your huge, private patio. I loved that I could swim laps in the morning at the beachfront pool, while looking at/hearing the ocean. Lots of shaded seating by pools. Food is pretty good, with some of my favorite items being on the poolside lunch menu. Primarily a spot for older couples, families, company trips, definitely not a singles resort. Not too much loud music, it’s easily avoided if you care to. Great place to just relax and chill, if that’s your jam. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
