My husband and I booked at Dreams Palm Beach because we went to Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa in Mexico two years ago for our honeymoon and we loved it. We booked a 2 week stay to encompass both our wedding anniversary and also my husband's birthday. My parents also booked to come with us. We booked our trip almost a whole year in advance and at the time of booking I sent an email to the hotel mentioning that it was our anniversary and his birthday and also asking for adjoining rooms for ourselves and my parents. I received a standard email response saying that our comments had been noted and added to our booking info. To make sure, I contacted the hotel via their facebook page a few months before we were due to arrive. I was answered by Luz Salce, one of the hotel's concierge ladies. Luz explained to me that adjoining rooms consist of one room with a king bed and one with twin beds, and wanted to know that this was ok before booking it for us. She asked me what interests my husband had so that she could use the info for his birthday. I also sent Luz a picture of a cocktail I had found online (White Walker) that I very much wanted to try, along with the recipe and jokingly asked if the bar staff would be able to make it for me. Luz assured me she would do what she could. Throughout out communication Luz was always very polite, as helpful as she could possibly be, and if anything made me more excited about our holiday. When we actually arrived we pulled up at the hotel, and, having booked regular stays, NOT preffered club, we enquired as to a possible upgrade to preffered. We were informed by the lovely and charming Pedro that we were already preffered guests! Luz had arranged a free upgrade for us as an anniversary gift, which was just wonderful! As we entered the preffered lounge to check in we were asked to wait a few minutes while our room was made ready. No one bothered us with timeshares or anything at all like that. Within a couple of minutes of us arriving, Luz herself appeared to welcome us!! After speaking with her so much through messages I felt I knew her and we exchanged big hugs. THEN Luz went over to the preffered lounge bar and came back with... A WHITE WALKER! Luz had gone out of her way (they couldn't source the white chocolate liquoer needed for the cocktail so had MADE IT THEMSELVES) to make sure that for the duration of our stay the cocktail I had requested was available to me! I cannot say more than that is simply above and beyond the call of duty. Luz showed us personally to our room. Though we had been upgraded to preffered club privelages, our room was not a preffered room, so I cannot comment on the quality of preffered rooms, however I CAN say that the room we were given, top floor in block 6, was absolutely beautiful. The bed was huge, the room was clean, the shower was massive, the bathroom beautiful. I don't have a single bad thing to say about the room. Our door was adorned with 'Repeaters' and 'Happy anniversary' banners, as I had told Luz that we had been guests of Dreams before. We had been given adjoining rooms, as requested. Everything was perfect. I've read some reviews which raise a couple of issues that I would like to address.. I have seen several people mentioning that other 'reserve' sunbeds early and it can cause problems. My husband and I were up and about at around 7am each morning and we would see no more than a handful of beds reserved. I think we were there at a quiet time of year, even by mid afternoon there would aways be around 30% of the beds around the main pool still empty, so I see no truth in some of the claims, and even if it is the case at busier times, there was a sign up around the hotel stating that they have a larger amount of beds available than capacity for guests, and that if you are unable to find beds, just ask a member of staff, who will be happy to help. I have to believe this to be the case, the staff are all so helpful and friendly, they really would do anything for you. I also saw some reviews from preffered club guests stating that there is no 'policing' of who is allowed to sit around the preffered pools. This is also untrue. Every day a member of staff stands at each of the preffered pools with a clipboard which contains the room numbers of all preffered guests and he will regularly check that no one is around the pool who is not meant to be. Twice we were asked to show our room key (preffered keys are a different colour) and most days he would check us off his list. During our stay we saw people being asked to leave the pool on three separate occasions as they were not preffered club guests, and also twice saw children being (politely) asked to leave the adults only pool. The benefits, to us, of having being upgraded to preffered consisted entirely of having access to the adults only pool, and the breakfast and lunchtime usage of the Seaside grill. For us, the seaside grill was a lovely bonus, it was nice to go there for breakfast as a treat and it was nice to go for lunch, however we went to the buffet several mornings and lunchtimes also and we were very happy with this, finding that the two, in our opinion, were about equal, as it was lovely at the grill to sit down and be served, but the choice at the buffet was superior. We would've been happy with either one, but having the option was wonderful. If we had been visiting with children we would of course not have bothered with the adults only pool, where we ended up spending pretty much all of our time, it was so beautiful and peaceful. My personal opinion is that the preffered privelages were a wonderful surprise for us, a fabulous gift from the hotel, but not essential and my holiday would've been just as perfect without it, though I am grateful to them as it was a beautiful gesture and much appreciated. We visited every restaurant twice during our stay. Service varied at each one each time. The first time we visited the french the service was fast and efficient, the second time, it was slower. The first time we visited the Italian it was slow, we wait almost 45 minutes between starter and main, but the second time there was no wait. The Mexican was always fast and so was the Asian. At all we found the food to consistently be delicious and the staff to be friendly and welcoming. We did try the main buffet for evening meal once, but we were mildly disappointed in that there seemed to be very little selection, however the place was virtually deserted, I think most people choose the restaurants which makes sense as they're great. One night we chose to 'stay in' and ordered room service, which always arrived in good time, hot and was nice quality. Great too for a late night snack if you're just feeling peckish after you get back to your room! The spirits served in the bars is top shelf (sometimes you need to specifically request a certain brand, or you may get cheap stuff, but if you are specific the staff are perfectly happy to provide). The coco cafe is a fab place to get a coffee, iced drink, milkshare, pie, cake, snack, tea, small sandwiches at lunchtime.. It's all delicious, however our only issue with this place was that the service was very slow and if I went to the door and saw more than 3 people queueing I would turn around and not bother. Every day of our stay, Luz came and found u to check how we were, if everything was alright, how we were getting on, and she was always just so happy and friendly and positive, always had a big hug for me. She asked me at one point what flavour cake my husband liked and where we wanted to eat on his birthday, I told her Italian. On my husband's birthday Luz made sure a table was ready for us at Portofino for 7.30 pm and when we arrived it was decorated with happy birthday regalia. After we had eaten Luz herslef appeared and a HUGE poker themed cake (when Luz had asked me his interests I had told her he loves poker) was brought out, with sparklers while the mariachi band sang 'Happy Birthday'. The whole night was fabulous and I honestly could not have asked for more. Our bedroom had also been decorated by Luz in a 'happy birthday poker' theme and it was just great. I feel that Luz did way more than she ever needed to just to make our stay extra special. That woman is a gem and the hotel should cling to her. The rooms are cleaned twice a day and the entire hotel (including rooms) fumigated often to keep bugs down. The whole place is exceptionally clean. You never see an idle member of staff, they are always busy, for example, the pool is constantly being cleaned throughout the day by staff with nets, clearing debris. Carlos from the pool would always stop and say hello to us and give us a wave, he was absolutely wonderful, so friendly and always happy. The couple of (very small) down points I feel the need to mention to make this a fair review are that.. USE YOUR ROOM SAFE! My husband and I could never be sure if we simply 'misplaced' $140 or not, but we somehow 'lost' it, after leaving our money in an envelope in a drawer. We didn't report this as a potential theft to the hotel, as honestly, we couldn't say for certain it was stolen and even if we could, we had no way to prove it. It was our own fault for not using the safe, which we did upon realising money was unaccounted for. My father and my husband would, most days, go to play pool or ping pong or whatever other games in the games area, they did this fine for several days, always removing their shirts due to the lack of air conditioning in this area and the humidity. This caused them no problems until one day into our second week, when they had been playing in this manner for an hour or so (the only people in the games room) and were suddenly approached by Anthony, a member of staff who they had watched sitting playing on the xbox for the last 30 minutes, to tell them that they had to put their shirts on. They asked why and were told because it was an area that children could access. They had never been subjected to this rule previously, and honestly, we found it to be a little bit ridiculous. No one around the kids swimming pool is asked to wear a shirt, and the area is of course full of kids, whereas my husband and father were the only people in the games room at the time, no children present at all!! Aside from this we had no issues at all, our stay was wonderful and we would more than happily return to Dreams at some point in the future. The staff are so accomodating, always happy to help, everything is a 'pleasure' and they will literally go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The rooms are beautiful, the area is a slice of heaven, the food is fabulous. I would return in a heartbeat. Luz Salce is a shining star for this resort. She made our wonderful holiday even more special, and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us.

Booked a trip to Punta Cana, so many inclusive resorts to choose from. The dreams resort was highly recommended by our travel agent, and was very accurate. Place Is superb, beautiful resort with so many activities and things to do. Plenty of place to go for nightlife but still has that laid back atmosphere. The staff is amazing, so many great people all around to help you and wait on you in such a respectful manner. With a special mention to Francisco who was there the entire day constantly bringing food drinks and a great personality, along with Jefiery who was a great bartender with awesome conversation skills. Same for Irwin, Elvis and Humberto. All around great people with plenty to help you with and make your trip and day that much more enjoyable. The hotel sea sports personnel are great to offering a wide range of excursions and fun things to do, special thanks to Wilson who hooked us up with great priced trip for fishing, as well as some great poolside manner and not pushy whatsoever. The rooms at the resort are great, very clean, fully stocked mini fridge and ample space. The resort is huge and perfectly landscaped with plenty of pools beach and bars. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to travel to the Dominican Republic.

I had the most amazing time at Dreams Palm Beach in Cabeza del Toro, Punta Cana. I want to say thank you to all who work so hard there and give a special mention to Adolfo Coby, Darlenis Santana (bar staff), Zury Adames (gift shop), Marielis Naiguez (management), Debora from the buffet, and Keila in room service. Also thank you to the bar tenders, entertainment staff, and food service workers. They made my time spent there well worth it. I plan to visit again in the near future.

My wife and I chose Dreams Palm Beach as the location for our Destination Wedding in May, 2017. We stayed for 10 days and had 50 friends and family members join us. Overall, we are very, very happy with our choice. For the price, I think this resort would be very tough to beat. You may find more luxurious Dominican resorts, but you will pay much more for your stay and your wedding package. We did a ton of research before booking, and we both feel we made the right choice. The resort is remarkably clean. It's a very pretty place...the building exteriors, the pool areas, the beach...all gorgeous. We had a honeymoon sweet and the room was perfect. A few of our guests had issues with their rooms, but they either upgraded or had their issues taken care of by the staff. If you book preferred club, you will substantially lessen the possibility of having any room issues. The food overall is acceptable. The Seaside Grille lunch menu is small but very good. Their dinner steaks are pretty good. The finger food placed out next to the preferred club pools is surprisingly good. The World Cafe buffet is better for breakfast than lunch or dinner. Not great, but acceptable. Of the four dinner restaurants, we only ate at three ( never tried the French one). We ate at the Japanese hibachi restaurant twice....first time the food was really good, second time just ok. The Mexican restaurant was pretty good. The Italian left us disappointed...tiny portions of just so-so food. In summary, the food is better than what you'll get at most other Dominican all inclusives, and if truly fine dining is a high priority for you, you shouldn't be looking at Punta Cana anyway. This place gets the job done. The two main pools are loud and fun. The area near the swim up pool bar can get a little rowdy...which was fine with us, we like to party and had a blast when we hung out there. The mixed drinks aren't that well made at this bar...if you stick with Presidentes you can't go wrong. When you are in the mood for more laid back time in the sun, both preferred club pools are very nice with exceptional service by the staff and much better made mixed drinks. The preferred club section of the beach also gets you great service by the staff. THE WEDDING: The location on the beach was perfect for us. Very pretty set up, nicely decorated. We had a friend perform the ceremony and it was wonderful. A short walk to another section of the beach for our reception. The food was better than anything we had in the restaurants... I cannot compliment Dreams Palm Beach enough for the job they did here. The DJ was absolutely awesome!!! We met a couple days prior, and he did exactly what we asked with the songs and kept the party rolling all night with his humor and personality. My wife and I, however, were a little disappointed with our wedding coordinator. We were somewhat surprised because she is frequently mentioned by others here with glowing reviews. From our initial planning session, to our welcome Beach BBQ, to the reception, she seemed very distant and indifferent. She missed a few small details at our reception that were important to my wife and I. These were little things that most of our guests would not have noticed, so it didn't detract from their fun and everything else was so perfect that my wife and I are still very, very happy with our choice. We had Maria Martinez from the resort as our photographer and we are very happy with the job she did. She was a very pleasant person and her photos were great. Joel also did a very good job shooting the wedding video. So, overall, the wedding was almost perfect for us. How many weddings go off without any minor problems....not many. Several of our guests, almost all people in their 40s and older, said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Our issues were also addressed with the wedding coordinator supervisor, Christina. She was very sympathetic when we met a couple days after when we told her about our issues. Her concern was very sincere and she made sure my wife and I were compensated to our satisfaction. A few members of the resort staff deserve 5 stars for their service: Robinson - met him at check in. He got our bags to the room and throughout my 10 day stay anytime he saw me he met me with a smile, a fist bump, called me by name and kept asking how my stay was going. He seems very sincere and seemed to care if our stay was going well. Valentin - Our server at our Romantic Dinner on the Beach. He could not have been nicer or more attentive. Juan Carlos - server at the preferred pool and beach. Just a great guy....always smiling and attentive to our drink needs. Most of the servers at this resort are good but Juan Carlos is great! If you're reading this, Juan Carlos... I'm the "iceberg" guy... Leaheny - I'm pretty sure I spelled his name wrong, but he's a bartender at the Seaside Grille bar. Friendliest of the bartenders, for me, and makes a great drink. Always met me with a smile, a fist bump, and called me " Iceberg" ( my drink of choice) And finally....the best of the best... Wilson - Our butler during our 10 day stay. I cannot compliment him enough, he's more than 5 star. Not only did he make sure my wife and I were always taken care of, but he made sure all 50 of our guests were happy. He told us on day 1... "I am now a member of your family", and we were all treated than way for our entire stay. There are too many incidents to name, so I will just sum it up by saying whatever you need to make you happy, Wilson will take care of it for you. I have never received more attentive care from anybody at any vacation I have ever been on. He's the best. So, all in all....although there may be more high end places out there, newer and more luxurious, Dreams Palm Beach is still very, very nice...a well established resort that is always kept very clean, in a beautiful spot, they are constantly but discreetly working on upgrading the older rooms, they know how to provide good service and if there is a problem with your room, or service you may have received from one of their hundreds of staff members, management will make it right. I highly recommend and for the money I think you will have a hard time finding better.
