Here is a better tip. The $10 entry fee can be paid online and you print your voucher at home for the DR Airport. You skip line BIG time. The hotel was somewhat above average. A/C in room was very cold. Food was hit or miss, some very good, some average. Sea Side grill had consistently good food, and if you are Preferred Club you can have a served 3 meals there. Other preferred club poolside food includes sushi. Oddly the "Japanese" restaurant did not. Sushi was even available in the World Cafe self serve restaurant. Italian restaurant requires long pants for men for dinner. Other Restaurant menus could use updating. (We did not try el patio Mexican ) In general hotel staff were very attentive and friendly. Beach has smooth sand no stones. Thatched huts keep you cool. Hotel concierge was helpful throughout. Entertainment was better than average. Production show was very good, and the Magician was EXCELLENT. Be sure to bring a multiple outlet strip for your devices. Relatively close to airport about 20 mins.

I would not nor will I ever recommend this resort to anyone!! In my entire Adult life I have never had an experience like this one. Let me start by saying the the majority of the resorts bartenders and service providers (except housekeeping) were great, cheerful and friendly. We opted for the upgraded Preferred club ocean view room which added an additional $700.00 to our stay, as well as private transportation to and from the airport to the resort which I will review separately. The rooms advertised in room mini bar contained exactly one bottle of each of the following. coke, diet coke, sprite orange soda and water and a drink box size orange juice. nothing more and never replenished over the five day stay. our bed covering had holes in it, the bathroom tissue had so much dust on it that I at first thought the resort used recycled products. The room it self was outdated at best. ( I should also mention that this was a smoke free property as we were told at check in but there were matches and ashtrays in our room and there was no effort by staff including management to stop anyone from smoking everywhere around the property) The beach was disgusting, there were large amounts of sea grass everywhere on the beach and the smell of the rotting grass was like sitting near an outhouse. (not that the other neighboring resorts beaches were cleared of the grass so not sure why it was there). Back to the room I spoke to the housekeeper about the bed covering and bar, told it would be taken care of. That night what was provided was the bed covering turned over to hide the hole. The beach activities as well as other activities were non existent. At any given time at least one of the gourmet restaurants was closed at any given time, and to add insult to injury I was never served a meal that was hot, everything was at best lukewarm to the touch (with the exception of the soup served in the World buffet) I should note that we were at the resort the week that Irma decided to make a visit and although we were sheltered on the property the communication as to what was going on was posted on a board in the lobby and on paper slipped under the room door. on the day were were to be sheltered, everything with the exception of the world buffet was closed, I can understand not wanting to serve any alcoholic beverages, however you could not get any soda, water or juice unless you went to the buffet and at that point in time not allowed to remove it from the building. All of the outdoor seating was in the pools that we were told not to use and also told to stay off the beach. There was a lack of interest in keeping the guests informed of what was going on and although the staff was busy preparing for the coming storm, they did not provide any service to the guests. Our room door wall was boarded over and remained that way for two days after the storm. All of the electrical items in the room were unplugged so if you wanted to go to the room to sit it was in total darkness. ( I should also note no-one came back afterwords to plug anything in ) We were sheltered in a conference center and given finger food and water, tea and coffee throughout the night, but never once did anyone form the staff inform us of what was the status of the storm. At some point in the morning not sure when the board were taken off the doors and without any announcements guest were just leaving and heading bake to their rooms. Services remained closed for most of the day, and very slowly came back to what was before but we never experienced any of the promised services. I should also point out that we stayed on the third floor of our building and from the time were returned to the room till late Friday night all three levels of the building had standing water, however the staff found time to remove it from the grass and mini golf area, even though you could not get the club or ball to play the game. I am sure that more could have been done to make guests comfortable, and compared to what guest at neighboring resorts told us they received during the sheltering, there is no comparison to make other than our experience was not good. Overall for this being part of an American company, operating in a foreign country, there was a total lack of emergency planning and a lack of interest in providing quality service to the guests of the resort.

First of all, I will start with one top tip! Make sure you have $10 (US) cash per person to get Ito the Dominican Republic at the airport! They only accept cash of USD or Euros. But that's not an issue with the hotel First thing about the hotel was that the guy at reception tried saying we had booked two rooms (we hadn't) and that he would have to charge us for a second room as we were cancelling?! Luckily this was resolved but just make sure you print off your reservation confirmation as this is the only way we could prove we had only one room booked. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful! The rooms are a little dated and not as impressive as the website may suggest but they are perfectly clean with a maid service daily and a turn down service every night. The restaurants are all fantastic. Me and my partners' least favourite was the French restaurant but this was only because the others were so good!! The Mexican was our favourite I would highly recommend the steak fajitas! The world buffet has so much choice for both breakfast and lunch, we didn't eat dinner in here though we chose to go to the al la carte restaurants instead. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and welcoming and are a massive credit to the hotel. The swimming pools are well maintained and clean- even staff members get in the pool a few times a day to clean leaves out. The beach is a little disappointing and not at all as the website would suggest. It's a little dirty but we weren't sure if this was still part of the clean up from Hurricane Irma. We were gutted to cut our trip short due to Hurricane Maria and lost 4 days at this beautiful resort. But hopefully we will be back one day. All in all we couldn't fault this place.

Well our 7 days all inclusive vacation became a 3 day long weekend because of Hurricane Maria but I have to say the resort staff was excellent!! Making you feel safe and calm, very well organized and kept us update. We have been to Dreams Palm Beach 4 times and each time it only gets better, unfortunately short lived this time. Emilio is wonderful at the Preffered club and is always going about and beyond. Hope to get back there soon, just not during Hurricane season again.

Fantastic place. The staff are amazing, it's so clean you can't believe the standard of hygiene it's amazing. We got a wonderful welcome with cold towels which we needed!! We got an upgrade due to our honeymoon which was wonderful and they also gave us champagne to :) We tried the Italian, French, Mexican and Chinese and they all were top notch, the service and the food. We used the world cafe for food most often and the choice is unbelievable. Our room was a lovely size, the mini bar topped up daily and kept clean by the fabulous magalis, we also had turn down every night. The pools were amazing and keeps fabulously clean by the pool guy who actually gets in to get the leaves out. The gardeners kept the gardens top notch. Everyone had a part to play and made it perfect. We were there through Irma and they did an amazing job, there was no panic (it's not there way of life to panic) they kept us informed about Irmas where abouts and when the time came we all had to stay in the conference centre, there where sheeted mattresses, as much food as you can eat, tea, coffee, juice water. They did a fab job in there and we found out all the staff in there did it for free they all volunteered. We feels safe also at the presence of the 'big' guys of the chain. They all came in and put things in place and stuck around even after Irma. There photos are in reception saying who they are. We called them the big cheeses. Overall we will certainly be coming back. I suggest taking dollars only and lots of smaller bills for tipping as tipping is a big part of life. Definitely book trips for out there but through your provider either before you go or there as they will be the best trips. We booked a trip with the seapro rep on site and were disappointed, my husband did parasailing with them on the beach and he loved that but the saona trip wasn't good with them. One thing I wasn't happy with was how male orientated the pool staff are, my husband got spoken to every time they saw him and asked if he wanted a drink and they totally ignored me, he forgot my drink twice and got my husbands and there was one occasion we were in the pool he asked my husband if he wanted a drink he said no and I said what about me and he just walked off, a lady next to me said she gets the same. I even tipped the guy twice to see if he'd start asking me but no. All the other staff were fine though.
