We visited Dreams Palm Beach February 5-12. This was our third trip to this wonderful resort and there will be a fourth at some point. We reserved at Club level as we always do. We were greeted promptly and got a wonderful, cheerful "welcome." Our room was not ready as we arrived early so went for a nice lunch and adult beverage while we waited. When we returned from lunch the room was ready. NOW, we are on vacation! The restaurants were all very good. Ricardo and Valentin were our waiters on several occasions and always greeted us with enthusiasm. Marco, at the pool bar always has a smile and will make any drink you want. Emelio, at the Club Lounge is the best! Always greets you with "Excellente'." He is such a nice man. If you have the chance engage him in conversation he's a very interesting man. Our room was always tidy thanks to Mercidita and Giselle. The only thing that I would love to see is an adult Jacuzzi. The one they have is used as a children's swimming pool. I would not set foot in that one! Kudo's to the General Manager, Valter Espinoza. He is very visible to the guests and ready to deal with any concerns guests may have. He does an amazing job of managing this resort. I would recommend the Club level. The rooms are in a quieter area. Go, have a great time!

Dreams Palm Beach is a quick 20 min ride to the airport, which is excellent after a long travel day. The lobby and check in process was swift and friendly including a welcome cocktail. The lobby has great seats and fans - although when dinner lets out, sometimes it is hard to find a seat in the lobby or the lobby bar. The bell staff were polite and walked us to our building (I'm sure they would have taken our luggage, but we arrived without any - that's for another review). The rooms are tired and look as though any repairs were done on the cheap and by people who didn't really know what they were doing. We did not upgrade to premium, nor was it offered to us at check in. I suppose the furnishings and room conditions may be better in premium grade rooms. Arriving after 9pm on our first night, we didn't realize we overlooked the maintenance and storage facilities - it doesn't make any sense why the hotel would even sell these rooms. We did ask to be changed, which they accommodated without an issue, which had a better view, although the room condition was still marginal. Hot water was sparse, the beds were firm (but we prefer that), the pillows a bit on the weak side. The pluses were definitely the restocked daily mini bar with beer, Fanta, Coke, Sprite and bottled water as well as a large balcony to cool down on after a hot day in the sun. The common areas are well maintained and clean including any of the public washrooms. A big negative for this resort was the lack of available chairs around the pool. There were many anxious travellers at this resort who seemed to sneak out of their rooms in the early dawn to save their chairs in the same spot every day. We're early risers and there were no chairs free at 8:15 in the morning. The security staff were very apologetic and would remove people's belongings and move chairs or retrieve free chairs for you, however, management needs to get a handle on this issue. It was compounded by the fact that the wind was so strong it kept everyone off of the beach due to blowing sand. The food at this resort was excellent - we ate at all of the restaurants except for the Mexican and did not have a bad meal. The selection has something for everyone, including many food allergies or sensitivities and the portion size is just right after a long day of indulging in all inclusive liquor and beer! The buffet has a wide selection of ready made and made to order food - you won't need to eat just bread and pizza. The ham was the best at breakfast! One of the things we appreciated was the easy availability of bottled water in the restaurants and bars - while the water is treated and safe on resort, we didn't even have to worry about that and drank bottled water without concern. There are a few nice shops on site - one with all of the amenities and a couple of souvenir shops and a cigar shops. The prices are high, however, they are in line with off resort shops. It's an easy walk to a small market outside of the gates, however - be prepared to be followed and harassed. The shopkeepers are extremely aggressive - more so than any other Caribbean island we've visited. The staff were very polite, efficient and often went above and beyond to help you and to make sure you were enjoying your stay. A big shout out to the pool bar boys, in particular Rafael. Rafael knew our drink order within hours of us being there and always greeted with an hola and a friendly smile. One of his colleagues even sourced mint for our mojitos when none could be found. Also, a special recognition needs to go to Romero at Himitsu (Japanese restaurant). He was a bright spot during our dining experience providing humour mixed with personalized service! The casino was wee, and the disco was quiet, but they were both a good way to pass the evening. Overall, the resort facilities are great, including the bars, snack bars and restaurants. The rooms need a great deal of work, even though we typically don't spend a great deal of time in the room on holiday, it's still important to have a clean comfortable place to unwind.

Had a very memorable experience at the Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana for a special girls trip to celebrate my mom's birthday. This is the perfect size resort where there is a lot of activities and food choices. It is intimate and cozy for those that are not interested in the massive resorts. They make you feel part of the "family." From the time we arrived, Robinson made us feel special and this continued throughout out whole stay. Everyone was respectful, friendly and went above board to help us in any way. Everyone one of us had a great time, took part in a variety of activities and the staff there are really special. All of the staff were exceptional but a few special ones to note from the five of us are; Robinson, Ovelinda, Edna, Carlos, Nataly, Christian, Domingo, Luis, Candida, Yanil, Julio Caesar, Luis, Emilio, Victor, Dominic, Gavi, Lisman, Juan-Franscico, Maitais and Nairobi.

We were disappointed with our second trip to this resort. That disappointment continued with this trip. The grounds and facility are beautiful. The food and service is a problem. The buffet does not change. In the past it was open 24 hrs. Not now. They have designated brkft, lunch and dinner hrs. The food selections do not change. We were there for 10 days and the buffet was the same all day, every day. Don’t get beef at any restraunts. It’s not edible. It”s either too tough or the taste is terrible. I tried it several times. The tenderloin at the beach was OK one night. I tried it at the French restaurant and I couldn’t get past the first bite. It tasted terrible. I’m not sure it was beef. The liquor is also an issue. The liquor at the swim up bar is either low alcohol volume or it’s watered down. If they don’t want to serve a specific brand, the hide it in the back room. This happened to me with Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Vat 69. The resort is beautiful, but 10 days with lousy food and no rotation, questionable liquor and inconsistent service is a problem. We will not be back.

Fantastic vacation! Staff was so friendly. Raphael at the pool bar was very accommodating , energetic always had a smile on his face. Felix with the entertainment group always smiling as well checking in on us to make sure we were enjoying our vacation. Can’t say enough good things about the staff and resort as a whole. We will be back with our family next year.
