A friend and I arrived in the resort on the 7th January for a 11-nights stay. After a long journey from London we arrived at the resort at approx. 20.30 in the evening. It took us over an hour to finally get our room which is not an experience you would want after a long journey. We were just told our room is in building 6 and then left there in the lobby with pouring rain outside. When I asked for an umbrella......Sorry we don't have any. Anyway, we made it, the room was overall OK with no few to be honest. There was a damp smell and a leak running down the wall opposite the bathroom from the upper level. Second morning, a request per phone to the front office for toilet paper took almost two hours for delivery.....that's really bad! We stayed every day at the beach as the pool area was very noisy with lots of kids and silly entertainment games. The beach itself is not well maintained and lots of algae being washed out to the beach every day, the see is not what you would expect from an Caribbean dream holiday. To the food, as a basic guest you have two choices for lunch, Barefoot grill at the beach and your choice is 5 days out of seven......burgers, hot dogs and chili.......chunk food to be honest. The wold café is the other choice with a huge buffet.....well.....this is more or less the same every day and gets very boring. The same for dinner at the World café......same every day!!!! There are another four restaurants which I couldn't be bothered going to as you have to wear long trousers and a shirt.....what's the point for this when trying to enjoy a holiday away at 28*C? Well, on the beverage side I have to say that most waiters were friendly and helpful. The day before departure I approached the front desk requesting a late check out for the next day. I was told that they would only be able to confirm the morning of the departure day and that the charge will be US$ 15 per hour. I questioned this as the hotel did certainly not have a high occupancy at all. I was told there are the rules! The morning of departure I went back to the front desk requesting the late check out with a gentleman behind the desk. He quoted me again US$ 15 per hour. a lady guest next to me who tried to get a late check out also was quoted the same by the female (Joanna) behind the desk. We were just looking at each other and couldn't believe this. When I challenged the staff member he said ......OK, I will give you both an hourly rate of $ 10 instead.....a bit like bargain hunting. I paid the $ 50 for my late check out! It is said to see that there is no flexibility from the staff at the resort knowing they are far off full occupancy........the resort surely must loose a lot of repeat business due to this errors. Sorry, but certainly not my cup of tea!

The hotel is great. Fantastic restaurants the 5 a la cartes were fabulous could not fault the food and service, special mention to the seaside grill staff who were amazing. The buffet was great steak, fish whatever you liked cooked in front of you. Great omelettes at breakfast. The room was great immaculately clean. The whole hotel is immaculate. Great drinks lovely proper strength cocktails. All in all this is one of the best hotels I've been to.

My daughter & I booked a 10 day holiday at this hotel recently. Unfortunately our flight had a serious mechanical problem & our departure was delayed a full day. When we finally arrived at Preferred check in staff were polite & gave us room cards etc. We were allocated Block 1, 3rd floor in a room which had 2 beds. We both were quite shocked at how run down the room was, damp musty smell, badly scratched & worn furniture, and a patio door that was a nightmare to open. We immediately realised that the internet wasn't working & while it was being investigated I went back to the girls at check in to let them know we were very disappointed in our room. The girl was super defensive & told me that I was already in one of their best rooms. I replied that I'd hate to see their worst! This week we have had to call maintenance almost every day as the toilet is either overflowing or else it wont flush. The safe & modem also had to be reprogrammed/fixed. There are a lot of positives about this resort, despite the shabby rooms & unhelpful concierge in Preferred Club. The waiters, bar men & grounds staff do an incredible job keeping guests happy & grounds immaculate. Huge praise for the cleaners too as they kept our room spotless, plenty of towels & supplies. My biggest gripe with this hotel was that my request for a late departure was declined, despite the fact I lost an entire first day of our holiday. The adjoining room to mine has been empty since we arrived 9 days ago, so they are clearly lying saying the hotel is full. I now have 8hours to kill before my departure & 19 hour journey back home. Certainly not an Excelente holiday at Dreams. Spend the extra few dollars & stay in genuine luxury elsewhere.

Fantastic Hotel Staff and food stand out above all other things,,,Luis Ramos made every day at the beach and pool the best..but all staff seemed to want to make sure we were enjoying our stay.. Top notch food, no reservations for al cartes, rooms clean and spacious. A cafe with Lily singing to us every day...The beach is beautiful, water not so much, but we were told it was something to do with the huricanes...Did i mention Luis Ramos? He went out of his way every day to serve us drinks, get us anything we wanted.. Just do yourself a favor DONT book a vacation through They will mess up your booking and then charge you hundreds to fix it... terrible travel company... Dreams Palm Beach and excellent choice though..

Our favourite waiter SANCHEZ was amazing with our kids and always went out of his way to make our experience comfortable and excellent. There was a wide variety of food for both adults and children and the evening entertainment was really amusing too- with magicians, dancing shows, pirates show, western show- good variety. The cocktails were really good and there was a coffee boy specialising in just coffee based cocktails. In one of their restaurants there was also a band that played whatever you wanted- going round st each table. The explorers kids club was lovely too, with a full programme for the day and babysitting service too! Our kids were only 1 and 3 so we didn’t use it much because the minimum age was 3 and we didn’t want to split the girls up. Additionally, our room were really beautiful. Nicely furnished with very large and comfortable beds, free minibar and we had interconnected rooms, which was great for us to relax after the girls were asleep. The maids were lovely too, especially Raymunda- she really treated our kids with a lot of care. The entertainment team were great too- I did a merengue and Zumba classes with JC (he was brilliant) and I also played beach volley and did daily aqua aerobics with Armani (he was really funny and smiley). The gym is quite ok, although the machines are slightly dated, but the weights are good and there are running machines and cross trainers too. The SPA was amazing- I had a massage with Ingrid who was fantastic! The swimming pool is really long- never felt full and there are free floating devices for everyone to use. Watch out for the suction bit at the bottom though- my 3 year old’s foot got caught in there and she nearly drowned- complained about this but I’m not sure if anything was done about it. We went on a boat trip to snorkel, see manta rays and sharks. The lady on the boat (the company name was SeaPro) was absolutely brilliant. She was called BIBI and she really helped to cheer my girl up when she was sick on the boat. My girl ended up dancing with her and hugging her for most of the trip! Amazing entertainment and free rum and coke on board too! We swam with sharks and manta rays too and did snorkelling. It was an amazing holiday, much recommended for families.
