Arrived Monday September 18th. Not impressed with having to wait 3 hours for a room. Stress disappeared quickly. Such a wonderful resort and fantastic people. Hurricane or not we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very calm and helpful. We were assured we would be on a bus to the airport. Packed lunches and drinks were provided by Dreams staff. Wifey and myself donated our food and drinks to local kids. Glad to be home .prayers for our Punta Cana family .

I stayed at this establishment for 5 days in August. Overall, my family had a great time after getting past some of the let downs I will explain below. I selected this resort based on my stay and rooms at Dreams Cancun, in which I had an awesome experience. What I didn't know is the Dreams Cancun was a resort built more recently and Dreams Punta Cana is an old resort that has been refurbished. So, my first impression of my room at Dreams Punta Cana was a tremendous let down. I was expecting the awesomeness that I had experience in Dreams Cancun. Not to say it was a horrible room, it just did not have that awe factor. So, after getting over the room, it was very hot. Punta Cana is hot in itself and to have no cool air is not good. I had read on here before that the upper rooms air conditioning does not work that well, it is true. So, they moved us down to the second floor which was better but not good. We had it set on the coolest setting and it never really go tthat chilly. My parents had a room on the bottom floor and they had to move the setting down it got so cold. So be sure you have a room on the bottom floor for maximum coolness. I had a family room, so it was my wife and I in one room and my three kids, ages 16, 13, and 9 in the other. They brought in full size single bed for my youngest and placed between the two full beds. Initially I had issues with both safes in the room, but they did send someone to fix one. Also the refrigerators in the room barely keep the contents of it cold and I think they give you about 2 beers and they are calling it a bar in each room. The entertainment is what you can expect in the small talent pool they have to choose from on the island. Drinks were good, but I'm pretty sure they water down the liquor. For the amount of drinks my family took in we did not even get a buzz. The restaurant portions are really small. So if you want a decent portion, I suggest ordering more than one mean an more than one appetizer. This resort was ok for us. We are not picky people, but if you're puting out over 5 grand for a vacation, you expect a little more. Would I come again, no. But if you have it already booked you can make the best of it, it definitely won't ruin your experience.

Upon arrival they staff were VW rob welcoming and friendly. They immediately took our bags and tagged and told us they would take them to our room. Check in took about 15 minutes. We opted to not get preferred club, which the only thing I would have liked was the beach service. We walked our way to our room by the beach in building 1. The grounds are beautiful! Staff work diligently everyday too keep everything neat, and it shows. Our room was nice. Everything worked. No leaks, a/c ice cold. Housekeeping were great. Tips go a long way! Gave us extra water when asked. We ate at Oceana, Seaside Grill, World Buffet, and Coco Cafe. Food was good. Something for everyone. Jennifer at Coco Cafe was so nice and makes the best lattes!! Vendors were aggressive but will eventually leave you alone. Great souvenir shop and spa just a 20 minute walk up the beach (turn left) Tropical Treasure. Staff were friendly wherever you went. We did a few excursions (booked before we came) which kept us busy. Didn't attend any of the shows except for live music outside, which she was an amazing singer! Bar outside by the stage probably had the best drinks even for not being top shelf. Pool was very relaxing and clean. Never had a problem getting a pool mat or finding a quiet spot. Closes around 6:30 which was fine as our room was right by the swim up bar which could be a little loud. Overall a great time. It was just me and my fiancé this trip, although it looked to be a kid friendly environment.

Our first family all inclusive - exceptional service and very friendly staff.. Great lessons and personal service from Leonl tennis instructor, yoga in the beach (forgot name) the staff at world cafe everything amazing. We had food allergy issues staff very responsive. I don't understand listing about dirty pools ! All very clean. Only advice do not take spa certificate & sales tour offered when you check in (&tired!) just say no & sit back watch the awesome shows and drop your kids at the club they love it.:)

Where do do I start ? Holiday interrupted by Irma - transfers to & from Santo Domingo totally shambolic.Loudhailers would have been a good idea rather than members of staff screaming at the tops of their voices.Total lack of communication at the hotel we were sent to - the Dreams rep simply disappeared & left all communications to the local hotel management.Tried to settle account prior to leaving for temporary accommodation - it took seven members of reception to deal with this! Check in by Carlos on the Preferred Desk - total information overload after a long flight & a bus trip from Punta Cana airport. The requested room was not allocated - my wife is semi disabled & has much trouble with stairs There are no lifts - no one told us & Carlos whose spoken English was poor was somewhat unhelpful. There is a well kept secret - you can get wine by the glass but the staff at Oceana denied this was the case ! Generally spoken English was not good - this lead to some problems. The Preferred package comes with a free English language paper daily & nightly turndown Despite complaining neither ever happened. Ultimately due a member of staff being extremely rude to me on the phone, spoke at some length with the assistant manager Everett who gave the impression he really wasn't very interested & had heard it all before. Be warned - full of very noisy & seemingly permanently inebriated Americans. However on the plus side, brilliant beach service from Willy. What a star ! All in all not great - we won't be returning.
