My wife and I booked this trip with Apple Vacations. We were able to get a nonstop flight out of STL that I really liked. When we arrived in Punta Cana we were greeted by an Apple rep and they took our luggage strait to our non stop shuttle to the resort. Everything went very smooth and everyone was very nice. We were upgraded for free when we arrived at the resort and greeted with a glass of champagne and cool towel. The room was ready within 15 minutes of checking in and our luggage was already in the room with some fresh fruit. The room was very nice with a partial ocean view. The resort was set up very nice. A pool ran the entire length with a swim up bar at the far end. If you didn’t mind waiting for a drink a couple ladies were taking orders and would bring them to you farther down the pool. They had plenty of seating and floating rafts around the pool. The WiFi coverage was great, the speeds were not the best but they did have reliable service throughout the entire resort. They also had some flamingos and peacocks that we’re neat to watch. The beach was always very clean and it had a swimming and snorkeling area, but it is on the Atlantic side so the water was not as clear at the Caribbean side that we went to sitting out excursion. The resort had entertainment every night that was also very good. They had an entertainment team that was around all day for events around the pool, “super Louis”and “Jayz” were two that remembered us and would come chat and tell us what fun stuff was going on that day. In my opinion the best part of this resort was the staff and the food. I cannot day enough about how amazing all the food was. They have several restaurants and all of them had a different theme so we visited a new one every night,The World cafe was one of my favorites. If you go I hope you get to meet Willy “super waiter”, the guy is awesome! Great customer service and he remembers exactly what to get you to drink. Our Apple concierge(not sure if that’s what she was) was also very helpful. She found us every day and made reservations, help us pick excursions, and gave us little extras (breakfast in bed, bottle of champagne and fruit, spa discounts) she made the trip even more relaxing by doing a lot for us. Overall this was a great trip that I would do again. The only negative I have is they do let vendors in one day a week (Thursday?) and they were hard to get away from. But we did stop and buy some stuff to help them out.

From our previous 2 trips here during the last 12 years we have always found this resort to be amazing. and it still is! Immaculately presented in all ways we can honestly say you will not be disappointed. Please be [patient if you need an reply as the laptop will only go on evry other day. Weather is fantastic 30+ deg with occasional cloud and light shower on the coast. PC airport can be exhausting so be patient! Happy travels. John and Yiasmin.

When we arrived from the airport they treated us like royalty. The food was amazing and the workers were awesome. We are part of unlimited vacation club and they upgraded us to the honeymoon suite. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to get home to our kids. Which we are going to bring back next year with us.

My partner and I went for a getaway from the everyday hassle of work. The resort is very nice, Many people on the staff is very nice...some not so nice! Edward who works every where was the best... He will go above and beyond to make sure your visit is great... I want to say her name is Keisha who works at Oceana is great as well... (Her husband name is Charles...) Oceana has the best food throughout the resort. I'm not a meat eater. This resort really need to improve on the seafood options and the late night menu... The food wasn't the best throughout the resort... However, once the rooms are updated and improve on the food options and taste this will be a great resort that I would add to my yearly travel agenda.

We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana from October 7th-14th, to attend a family wedding -- our group was about 50 people in total. Saturday the 7th was the property's grand reopening since closing down for Hurricane Maria, and some work was still being done to repair the roof on the main building and the one that houses the Bordeaux, Oceana, and Seaside Grill restaurants. Everything else appeared to be in good shape, and workers were busy touching up paint and washing glass doors. Check-in was slow (but, hey, we were a big group) and it was only 2PM, so our room wasn't ready. It *was* ready at 3:00, as promised, and our luggage was there when we walked in. So, the good stuff: the property is beautiful. It's not overwhelming huge, and there is undeveloped land on either side, so it feels peaceful. Loads of mature palm trees, beautiful gardens. The lazy river style pool that runs through the middle is fantastic. Lots of twists, turns, and coves. And lots of lounge chairs. It never felt crowded. The pool is 3 feet deep from beginning to end -- great for chilling out with a drink or floating along on one of the many air mattresses provided. The beach isn't huge, but it also has a palm grove and many loungers. You can find places to catch some shade, and the ocean breeze is super refreshing. This is the Atlantic side of the island, so the surf is moderate, with some undertow. The water was clear of seaweed during our whole stay. The vast majority of the staff is friendly and polite. Yes, folks have varying degrees of proficiency in English, but we got by. As in many places, people appreciate it if you are polite and respectful and try to use some basic phrases in their native language -- and apologize with a smile for not knowing more. Hey, you're a guest in a Spanish-speaking country. The world doesn't revolve around English-speaking Americans. We enjoyed the restaurants and food. It's not foodie-gourmet dining, but the dishes are generally well-prepared. The entree portions do run a bit small at the table-service restaurants; order an appetizer and have dessert, though, and you've got a filling meal. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The World Cafe buffet never had a wait and offered lots of choices. We opted to do late breakfasts every day, and the made-to-order items (crepes, omelettes, etc.) were quite good. *All* of the baked goods and desserts were delicious. The poolside and beachside tiki shacks that offered burgers, hot dogs, and pizza in the afternoons made a great, quick barefoot stop for a bite of lunch. Our room was in Building 2, so there was a bit of a walk to the facilities located in "Santo Domingo Plaza", but I didn't mind getting stretching my legs for that. It was a beautiful stroll. So, what keeps this resort being great? First and foremost, the rooms. The exteriors of the buildings are fine, but the guest rooms need serious updating. Fixtures are worn out -- lampshades don't fit over the new fluorescent light bulbs. The auxilliary outlet on our desk lamp didn't work. The throw pillows on our bed were stained. The TV remote didn't work (and the replacement we got died, too), and there's no listing for the stations available (the room card was out of date). I know you don't vacation to sit in the room and watch TV, but you probably do want to check out the news or weather. The guest services binder was falling apart and clearly missing pages and/or sections -- and a lot of the info was outdated. The A/C system was only so-so. The bathroom only had two lights, both over the sink. The tub/shower was unlit, and it was a European-type setup: VERY high step-up into the tub, narrow glass partition at the faucet end with the rest open. The tub was chipped. There were only two outlets (with one plug each) in the room (and one of those has a lamp plugged into it) and one in the bathroom. If you're traveling with your laptop and phone, and so is your spouse, it's tricky to time out recharging your electronics. So, we had a room with a lovely view over the pool and towards the ocean, but I wished we'd stayed in it 20 years ago. That being said, the housekeeping staff keeps everything as clean as possible. It's just that what they're working with is getting very worn out and they can't make it look new. Our maid very graciously placed flowers around the room every day and really tried to make it as pretty as possible. They responded quickly when we asked for things like more hangers, another TV remote, etc. Be aware: The hallways have tile floors and stucco walls, so sound bounces around and travels -- a lot. You WILL hear it in your room. Depending on who else is staying in your building, that could be a BIG issue. One other "c'mon, really???" was the approach and "invitation" to take a few minutes and visit the Zoetry resort, "just a couple minutes up the road", to see it and "take a few pictures." And "we're having a contest... you can win a free vacation!!! It's NOT a timeshare." Translation: We want to sell you a membership in our Vacation Club. So, yeah, technically not a timeshare. The visit and sales pitch will take a good 2 hours out of your vacation day. No thanks. I wish I could *love* this resort and rate it more highly. They did a great job with the wedding and reception. It's just not everything it COULD be -- and probably USED to be.
