It’s been a great experience visiting this beautiful hotel for the first time, I need to mention some of the employees who made our stay sooo wonderful. I might not remember all of them, and I apologize for this. Juan (the Spanish), great person, Rafael, Lilly, Edward, Carlitos Gustavo, Nayeli, Kendry, Moises, Lui Ernesto, Genesis, Leo, Vladimir, Ramon, Wilson, Willy, Jesus, Miguel AngelMaikol, Josiah’s etc etc. They all made our experience unforgettable. No complaints at all. Thank you to you all ❤️❤️❤️

Terrible costumer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT!!!!! I had a terrible experience with a member of the resort who sold me a excursion and 5 minutes later I decided that I didn’t wanna do it anymore. He told me I would have to pay full price because it was not refundable. I brought it to the manager who told us they would work on it and at least half of it would be returned. At the check out they simply said there was nothing they could do and we had to pay full price for something we didn’t use and literally canceled it 5 minutes after we signed up for it Terrible costumer service. Nobody seemed to care about what was going on

Here's the deal...it was amazing, I just wish I could have experienced the beach and came home feeling better.

Long story short: Take a chance, you won't regret it ( like anything in life). Download their app, follow their night events/classes, stay away from sand flies during early morning, and enjoy a nice fria at Blue (pool) Bar and Coco loco at Prelude! Overall, I recommend this to everyone looking for a peace of mind, tranquility, and excellent hospitality from people who are humble, hardworking, and deserving. There is a lot you can get out of this experience because of their excellent attitude.... just stay informed and have fun. Here is the good & bad you need to look out for. The good… The rooms are clean and their housekeeping is very attentive. Their food is exceptionally tasty for an all inclusive. Las Olas, Lobster House, and the Grill had specials that made the experience memorable, including daily Dominican dishes I enjoyed so much (@ The Grill) and specialty dinners for those celebrating any event. The bars have a great variety of drinks for those who do/don't drink. The hotel location is pretty central to bars and clubs, & whatever excursions you choose. Our excursions were a scenic drive away of about 30-45 minutes. Prior to leaving, I was very impressed with the front door staff who will make sure you are safe going to and from the hotel to whatever location. They monitor and write down who you are leaving with, which includes taking down the drivers name and license plate. A big plus for locals or foreigners looking for peace of mind when leaving the hotel zone. If you download their app you can see they offer nightly events and fun classes; most nighttime events are held in a theater and classes are held in a gym room that has great lighting and is maintained very well. My partner loved the state of the art machines they had in the gym, too, especially for those who like full body workouts vs classes. Honorable mentions: the Retro & Michael Jackson shows were FIRE!! It was loud, entertaining, energetic...the entire production was spectacular. The classes were really well spaced out, and tennis/ indoor yoga classes were taught by staff who knew what they were doing (always with a smile). There are also great views you can enjoy while doing any of these activities or just walking around. Loved the botanical gardens, the parrots, and all the fishes in the pond too. Very tranquil. Now, here is the bad…(note: it was hard to even highlight this because they really are an amazing bunch) The staff serving those hanging out by the pool/beach were limited, as we didn't get approached once while on the beach. Usually they would be someone walking around to ensure you are served while relaxing. If you choose to do sunrise activites...please be aware of the sand flies/mosquitoes that congregate during their outdoor (morning?) classes, as I was not made aware nor did I experience the sting of these critters or any other mosquitoes until my very last day during sunrise yoga. There seemed to be an infestation of some kind because I got around 20 bites all over my body under a half hour. No one leading the event mentioned what these were until after I left the event abruptly due to the discomfort and confusion I felt not knowing what was truly going on. Once I got back in my room, I discovered what I am dealing with now, two days after arrival, still going through it. Also, the sunrise had occurred 30-40 minutes earlier when it was cooler and I took the dusk to sunrise shot below (which felt amazing to witness)...soo the class timing was a bit misleading and disappointing experience given the heat and critters. As for the beach, I had mixed feelings. From afar, it looked beautiful. Breathtaking, even. From close, they had 4-5ft sand dunes and heavy seaweed for most days we were there which you had to climb and step through - pretty uncomfortable to say the least. A lot of trash past the excellence club area with even more seaweed accumulation.I cannot go as far as saying the season or storms were the reason for the amount of seaweed experienced here... the staff said they handle it with the same machinery we saw working every morning since our arrival. My understanding is that the same machinery that was unable to clear it in six days cleared it in one night, even after a storm. So, I guess it depends on your luck and day...and their machinery capabilities to clear the beach. Surprisingly, on our last day these areas were exceptionally clear of every single strand of seaweed and sand dune or garbage that accumulated days before. Once cleaned and accessible, the beach and water looked STUNNING. I guess...you have to just wait and see. I'm sure I'm hoping for a better overall beach and outdoor experience next time!

Not terrible for the price, but nothing too special...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Took a solo trip to get away from the rat race for a bit. Thankfully, I shortened the trip from 5 nights down to only 3 nights. Service: Nothing personal against the staff - they all were very friendly and gracious. But I realized I simply didn't like the "being waited on, hand and foot" like I would have thought. Or, perhaps, I would like it, and the staff simply did only enough to make customers *feel* like they're royalty. I also got the impression that many of the staff "compete" both for the customers' praise (and tips) and also against each other. Not sure if there's some resort hospitality corporate ladder they're trying to climb... Cleanliness: Everything seemed clean, for the most part. Ironically, my room seemed the least clean place I visited on the property. Namely, the floors in my room were marble, or some kind of stone, and felt like there was a thin, dirty/sticky layer that hadn't been mopped. Aside, the shower stall was the only floor that was *not* the same material - it was painted, and felt like the same material as its walls (simple sheet wood/drywall). Value: When I booked, there was a 45% discount to the listed booking price (could be a marketing tactic, though). Regardless, well worth the price for all-inclusive. Some things were not included, though, to include simple items like sunscreen or aloe gel, which were for sale at the on-site drugstore. Note that the 4 oz. bottle of aloe gel cost as much as a 16 oz. bottle I got from my local grocery store. Location: Beaches, sun, palm trees, pools, drinks... Definitely picturesque (the colors are as bright as the pictures). Sleep Quality: I slept about average. There were a few nights that outside noises woke me up, to include - women screaming and running back to their rooms due to rain; someone hammering or knocking on something in the courtyard/hallways between rooms. Rooms: Honestly about equal with a hotel room in the U.S., aside from a Jacuzzi underneath the TV. See above for comments about cleanliness. WARNING: A few of the TV channels are outright pornography. Nothing I saw on the website mentioned this, and I honestly think I'd have gone to a "family friendly" resort to avoid it, even if I'd have had to hear to rambunctious kids. While this resort is advertised as "adults-only", I admit I was not expecting something as brazen as uncensored porn. Overall, I'd give 6/10 at best...

This resort was FABULOUS! You are totally taken care of. When you arrive you receive a glass of champagne, a cool towel to wipe your face and hands, and a big “Welcome Home!". I am very big on service and the service I received at the Excellence Punta Cana was unmatched. Plus it's only for adults… so no screaming kids! The food was very good and they offer premium drinks. I would stay there again anytime.
