Excellence Punta Cana

This is our eighth visit to Excellence Punta Cana - we come back every year and love it . It’s a stunning location , staff are exceptional and there’s a really relaxed vibe. We have recommended the resort to others who have had equally great experiences. I cant praise the staff highly enough - they work long hours and are always welcoming , friendly and professional. They take note of your preferences and treat guests like royalty. We try to show our appreciation wherever possible and can see its gratefully received . Location is second to none blending beach, lagoon pools and incredible greenery. If you’re a runner I highly recommend the running track which takes in the beach as well as the parque ecologico. Gym and exercise classes fab too - I loved the new sunrise Pilates on the beach class , what a great addition! There are a couple of ‘even better ifs’, they didn’t detract from our trip but are worth highlighting as I know how keen they always are keen at EPC to receive and act on feedback … 1. There have been some changes enacted to menus which regular guests have picked up on in earlier reviews . Overall we genuinely found these to be for the best and elevated the restaurants , though think an opportunity to look at the options for non red meat or fish eaters ie Grill is now steak only, Oregano pastas are predominantly fish based (whereas there used to be a good selection of pastas and sauces to choose from) Spice now is only for fish and sushi lovers whereas previously was our favourite restaurant for the beef , chicken and noodle dishes . Minor point but menus need a bit of editing / proof read eg I ordered the eggplant al forno and what came out was a pizza - there was no reference to pizza anywhere but we quickly deciphered that Oregano is using ‘Al forno’ to indicate list of pizzas … 2. As regular visitors we were happy to learn we have Diamond status which is the highest tier of their rewards programme. It would be nice if the perks of this had been shared or explained - we very nearly missed out on a spa treatment covered in our rewards which would have been a real shame as the Spa was exceptional and really made our stay! 3. Comms re room reservation prior to arrival - as mentioned we come every year and stay for 2 weeks in a swim up suite . It’s important to us to be in a quieter block , preferably 10. We were delighted to see the introduction of the new room booking system which allowed me to select our preferred room at the time of booking (6 months prior to our trip) . This gave us assurance as in the past we have had to move rooms on day 2-3. Was therefore disappointed to receive a generic email just before travelling to say ‘unable to be fulfilled’. I had also emailed the hotel in advance on all 3 of the email addresses listed but unfortunately received no response - so I think would be helpful to clarify how best guests can communicate room requirements to minimise day 1 issues, both for staff and guests All of the above are very minor tweaks which would round off what is already an EXCEPTIONAL offer . The amount of returning guests speaks volumes ! Well done and thank you to the amazing team excellence for another fabulous break!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, cared for, and showed us incredible hospitality! We booked in the Excellence Club and are glad we did! The rooms were beautiful, private, and well appointed.

The Excellence is our favorite resort. The staff are amazing, the service is fabulous, the grounds are immaculate. It is so relaxing and stress free. I feel like royalty here. Oregano needs more pasta options and the Beatles show needs to stop pretending they are British and stay in harmony! Ha ha. Small thing. Overall it’s heaven being here every year. Wish the online bookings had the option in Canadian $. PLEASE! Thank you for another wonderful vacation. ❤️🌴

Wonderful resort experience! The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. Food is better than average for an all inclusive.

The staff here are phenomenal. As soon as they found out it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a cabana with decorations and champagne! We will most certainly return with our friends and family!
