Excellence Punta Cana

So many great team members! Joan was the perfect welcome and send off. Anabel was very kind. Diaz and Jean Carl stood out at the bars. Bienvenido, Juan Carlos, and Rey were wonderful on the beach. Emilia was a great server in the evenings. Carlos was awesome in room service. There are probably some I am forgetting because your staff is awesome! We really want to highlight the entertainment team. They were ALL great, but we had so many wonderful encounters with Coca Cola, Honey, Panda and Party Boy. They truly made us feel special, and made our stay exceptional! The facilities and food and drinks and beach are great, but the service is what made our stay!

We were here in January 2025 and found the food quite good - the change to the menu has made some of the restaurants unappealing. I applaud you for adding plant based foods but why change the existing menus from last year. We heard from quite a few people who complained about the food.

This is our third time going to Excellence in Punta Cana and I would return again based on this last trip. This resort really makes sure you are well taken care of and comfortable during your stay. We added the Excellence Club to the trip as it was only a little bit additional and it adds a restaurant, 2 pools, hydrotherapy, and upgraded alcohol options. All of the staff we ran into during our stay was very friendly, accommodating, and very willing to help wherever they could. I want to call out a few that really made the trip extra special: Hendricks - He was the pool attendant at the Excellence Pool we spent most of our time at. He made sure we had towels, drinks, and really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was great. Richard - He was our server at a couple of restaurants and he was VERY kind and always appreciative. He went as far to look underneath tables for me when I couldn't find me earring. Francis & Ricardo - At the Excellence Magna bar these two made very great drinks. I was a big fan of the Lemon Drop Martini with a sugar rim and the Chocolate Martini. Soriano - Excellence Pool Bar bartender. Very nice always had a smile on his face and made great drinks. Arisyorky - Aroma Coffee Barista. He made delicious coffee drinks and I had at least two iced coffees a day and he was consistent in the flavors and how efficient he was while making drinks for the line each day. Building 3 Cleaning Crew - I didn't have a chance to get their name but each day they were very timely when cleaning the room and we got a turn down service each night where they would refresh the bedding and leave you with bottled water for the night. I usually am one to do all of the activities for water aerobics but during my trip the speaker was broken so I didn't have much experience with the activities this year. Although the activities team was very energetic at night and I have a good feeling if the equipment was functional the water aerobics would be spot on. They also have a list of a great variety of daily activities to do. For the spa we did the included hydrotherapy and the spa team was also great. It's worth going to if that is something that interests you. I wanted to touch on all of the staff because that is what is going to make an experience good or great. If you don't have a great staff to me it doesn't matter how nice the accommodations are. The staff is what put this hotel above and beyond and they would be the reason I would consider coming back for a 4th time.

Using Banyan Tree as a high benchmark, it was an average resort. Quality of food and restaurants service needs improvement.

Miguel pikachu at Excellence Punta Cana was AMAZING! He went above and beyond to help us and completely made the pool entertainment so much fun. Always smiling, always in a great mood—he seriously made our trip. Already looking forward to coming back!
