Excellence Punta Cana

If you want a neat, peaceful and relaxing environment, this is the place. The entertainment was moderate and adequate for the time of year I visited (July 4th). If you want music by the pool, or desire rich nightly entertainments, this is not the place. The food was good, different restaurants to choose from with different cuisine coupled with buffet, I have no complaints. The snack area is always stuffed with good and different snacks - very nice. Ocean waves were high and negligible sea weed during my visit, but still.had the opportunity to play in the water. The environment is nature filled and evening walk in the garden was soothing. The gym is a bit far off to the residents and it gave me a good excuse not to visit (I only went to see the location). Gym is well equipped and clean. It's a 45 minutes ride from the airport, but since the ride is through built up area, I did not notice the distance. I got an upgrade from Expedia and enjoyed a room filled with goodies. My initial plan was to visit Costa Rica, but United Airlines Vacation package routed me through San Jose airport that was 5 hrs away to the hotel - so I canceled. Don't use United Airlines Vacation/Priceline or book Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica - they refused to give me credit for future use/partial/full refund. Even after explaining that United routed me 5 hrs drive from San Jose airport and I needed to rebook (they kept my $1400+). United gave me credit for future use, but not the resort. Book wisely.

The Excellence resort at Punta Cana exceeded our expectations! The staff was warm and welcoming and always going above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant and relaxing, they even sent a birthday cake to our suite on my actual birthday! Our Excellence Club Jr suite with private pool was impeccable and comfortable, the pool was the perfect size to spend a relaxing time enjoying the sunshine. The resort has bottled water available in the minibar and the buffet area and restaurants provided very good quality food and had something for everyone. Will definitely rebook!

The resort and spa were amazing! The food was great and the service was top notch! We stayed here for the 5th time and did not disappoint as we continue to receive the best service every time which makes us continue to come back "home". Hector, Ricardo, and Alexandra were excellent bar tenders and drinks were spot on! Miguel was our concierge and he took care of us the entire week. He made sure our anniversary was a special one. Cristian, the beach concierge, served us and took care of us with amazing service! Keep beng Excelente, Excellence!

We just married at Excellence Punta Cana and it was an amazing experience. The property is absolutely beautiful and the service is impeccable. The food is really good but more than anything. I found the staff to be extremely accommodating and helpful. The wedding planner was wonderful and I can truly say that the entire team did everything to make my wedding visions come true. The Magna restaurant was a favorite of ours. The bar there at night is hopping and has the best bartenders… it is also the only place at the resort that has premium liquor. You do have to be an excellent Excellence Club member to go to that restaurant. It’s open for breakfast and dinner and both meals were delicious. We also had a romantic dinner on the beach and that was wonderful as well. It’s a beautiful setting and the food was delicious (we chose the tenderloin dinner). Our friends had an opportunity to go to the French restaurant Chez Isabelle and they said it was the best meal they had all week. We also had an opportunity to visit the spa for massages and hydrotherapy sessions. Extremely relaxing and smells wonderful at the spa! Adding on the foot massage to the hydrotherapy session was worth it! Overall, extremely happy with our experience here, from the welcome dinner to the last breakfast we had. Our friends and family also enjoyed themselves.

Grounds are beautifully kept and staff was so kind. Our rooms were spacious and well kept. Their biggest downfall is when it comes to the food and drinks. We understood coming in this was an all inclusive but there were no good food options. Even being next to the ocean you would think they wound have fresh fish or ceviche. We are going home very hungry. The drinks are watered down and full of sugar, by no means were we wanting to get drunk, but to have a nice buzz while soaking up the sun.
