Excellence Punta Cana

My wife and I spent one week at Excellence Punta Cana from August 4-11, it was a remarkable experience overall. We found the location and atmosphere to be exactly what we were looking for, uncrowded and perfect for leaving your worries behind and spending quality time with each other. The rooms were cleaned twice daily although probably could use some refreshing. All in all the value at Excellence is outstanding, I don't think we had a bad meal while we were there; we are not picky eaters. The resort itself is nicely laid out and you can walk to anything without the need to catch a trolly or golf cart like some other resorts. The water at the beach is more like the Atlantic ocean where I'm from in New Hampshire than the white sand, calm waters of Bavaro but that was fine with me. a couple of pros and cons we observed-Pros: Service is exquisite, top notch in all regards, Food quality is very good, great beach for walking, cleanliness of resort and rooms. Cons: the Clam chowder at the Lobster house is not New England Clam chowder by any stretch, more like pea soup (we actually thought it was for dipping at first), There is no way to identify who is in the excellence club when using the 2 excellence club pools, anyone can just walk in and use them ( no wristbands or identifiers). We would not hesitate to go back to this resort as it was overall outstanding in almost everyway, the staff are attentive and always smiling, special shout out to our favorite waitstaff Einstein, Jose Luis and Rosenber; you guys made our stay extra special. Thank you Excellence for providing us with an excellent vacation experience, we will see you again for sure.

Although Excellence punta Cana is absolutely beautiful, our stay here was nothing short of mediocre. We had the private pool junior suite and it was beautiful, but extremely humid inside . We even asked for dehumidifier because some of the reviews stated they were able to get one for their room and they said no. The humidity inside the room was so bad the comforters on the bed never felt completely dry . So, if you have sensory issues you will not be able to withstand the uncomfortable bed and humid room. The food here is extremely weird and I mean it’s never consistent . We stayed here 6 nights so we were able to able to really experience every restaurant. The Italian restaurant and lobster house were the worst. The breakfast buffet was okay , the food isn’t hot. The best meal we had was at Spice and the steak house . I would stay CLEAR from room service breakfast, it’s terrible . Service at the restaurants were also very mediocre, just know most of the time if they see you’re a young black couple ,service will be mediocre until they realize you tip and then out of nowhere it’s all smiles. Overall, I would not recommend this resort, after going to majestic mirage last year our expectations were high as that experience was amazing ! We were ready to leave to leave this resort..6 nights was just too long here.

We were picked up by seasons transport in a limousine which was air conditioned, superb journey both on arrival and departure by friendly driver giving us information about the Dominican Republic. Welcomed home at the EPC hotel with cool champagne and face cloth by the Bell boys. Smooth check in at the front desk and meeting up with some amazing throughout our stay Ramon, Hector Luis , Jesus, Danny Mercedes and also Randy from excellence club. Lovely suit sea view looked after by a wonderful maid service who left plenty of beautiful towel art. The mini bar was always well stocked by Michael. Always beech beds available and looked after Fermen and Frank. Landry and his team kept us hydrated throughout the days. One of the gardeners in particular was very helpful he was called Carlito , also a thank you to the pool cleaning team ! Rest rooms were kept immaculate. We went to the kitchen table breakfast and lunch always plenty of delicious choices thanks to Domingo Katie, Santa, Olga Grizelda, Erica,Luis . Chez Isabel absolutely amazing again, loved the onion soup and tornado Rossini, the wonderful manager and his team Rafael, Dieby, Joel , Smerylin and Jisely . Magna great food and service in this greatly improved restaurant from Demetrius, Einstein, Edwin and Ononcensio . Grill super steaks plenty of choices thanks to Gabriella, Joel, Jefrey, Darling and Solomon. Agave nice Mexican meal with a change from steak, delicious Aztec soup and burritos with thanks to Domingo and Juan Carlos and the team ! Aroma superb lattes every day with a superb choice of snacks and great conversation with Virginia, Yourdania, Carmen and Dionne. I would just like to mention more restaurants should be open each night and maybe just close one per night in peak season. Final mention to Juan an excellent addition to the hotel, amazing person taking time to speak to people each and every day ! A great personality! A fantastic holiday and can’t wait to go back home to our family next year!

We absolutely loved our honeymoon at Excellence Punta Cana. It was above and beyond what we expected. Every member of the staff was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The room was exactly as pictured online, the food was great, and there were so many fun activities to do every day. Juan Carlos especially made our trip even more special and was incredibly thoughtful. We loved our trip!!

The experience at Excellence Punta Cana is beyond expectations. Every staff member takes amazing care of you especially Juan Carlos. He went above and beyond for us on our honeymoon and was there when we needed absolutely anything!
