Excellence Punta Cana

Check-in at the club reception was easy, however, the rooms originally assigned weren't at all what we requested. They were able to accommodate us after some push back on our end. David who initially checked us in was nice but needs a lot more training in professionalism. He assumed my friend and I were a gay couple even though we are booked in separate rooms. He didn't really explain the resort amenities in detail but advise we download the app. He laughed at my friend's initial reaction when she was given the $30k slip to sign that was in Dominican pesos vs dollars. I inquired about lunch options and he explained the buffet was open so I asked about a sit down option where we could be served, and he called me a diva. I was not insulted as it seemed playful enough but this just isn't the level of professionalism one would expect from a 4 star resort and enhanced service expected from club level. He means well but training and a more polished approach could go along way. The food was hit or miss, drink service at the club side of the beach was infrequent (attendants were very nice tho), room service was extensive and very good, hydro therapy treatment was very nice and the massage excellent. Gloria was wonderful. Jose Luis from Magna restaurant was so attentive and helpful. Sergio at Magna bar made exceptional high quality drinks. The resort is very well kept and has beautiful grounds. The club beach area is great with comfortable loungers and palapas. The beach is choppy but is still a beautiful beach. Our departure wasn't the smoothest. We were asked the day prior if we wanted help with our luggage and we stated yes and so they scheduled someone to grab the luggage from our rooms at 8:45am day of departure. They didn't come... so we left with our luggage headed towards the lobby, we entered the club area told Raudy we were going to checkout and that no one came to help with our luggage as scheduled, he proceeded to check us out with out an apology or any acknowledgement that they failed to provide us with the scheduled service. Would we return? I can't say a definitive yes. There are high points but several disappointments that will be hard to forget. A premium is paid for club level service and it really felt like it didn't deliver on that in many respects.

Scenery wise it was beautiful although I would have loved more of an authentic food, dance, ambience. There was one host who attended me in the olas that gave me an authentic experience. Cherelyn from the entertainment team was amazing and made the experience with wild! Im upset my sister had to wait for 40 minutes and was taken to the wrong location and missed the ceremony. They paid $200 to miss the wedding. She arranged that 7 months ago. That should have been taken care of and they be on time. The receptionist took them over because the escort never showed up.

We went for a week May 9th-16th and stayed in a beach view Imperial Suite and WOW! The service was AMAZING!!! This was our 5th time here and it was our best trip yet. Already planning our next trip back. HUGE NOTE - The beach was BEAUTIFUL - the hard working crew removed any seaweed (sargassum season) every morning from the sand and they have barriers to keep the water clear. Not the same at other hotels arounf there!! Service was EXCELLENTE as always!

The resort was nice. Everyone was very friendly and worked so hard. We did not meet anyone rude. The workers were willing to accommodate any of our needs. The resort was clean enough, but a deep cleaning would be nice. The food was good overall. The resort was fairly quiet. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely one back.

It was the first time for my husband and I to go to a resort. We picked Excellence Punta Cana Uvero Alto, D.R. because my sister and her husband recommended it. Anyway we researched and compared it with other resorts and based on what we wanted to do, Excellence of Punta Cana topped all the other ones. We arrived at the resort by 11:30 AM and we were kindly greeted by the bell boys Pedro, Jonathan and Andrely who gave us a glass of champagne and escorted us to the reception. Willy, Christina, Jesus, Elisabeth and Danny Mercedes accommodated us right away with the room and explained everything to us about the room, restaurants, pool areas, activities and so on…Jonathan got our luggage and headed to the room. On the way to the room we were greeted with a big smile and welcoming words from everyone. We are bilingual and spoke Spanish but everyone speaks English too. After we settled in the room we went for lunch to the Kitchen Table buffet style restaurant. We were greeted by Sacheryn, Pamela and Yohanna, gave our room number 7202 and were seated by Santa, a happy lady, the manager who would always go table to table to make sure everything was alright. The food was amazing of different kinds of cuisine. But, what made the experience wonderful were the servers at the buffet who attended everyone with love and respect. Louis, Erwbin, Olga, Roberta, Erica and other ones that I can’t remember the names . I wished I would have a paper and a pen to write down all the names. Also there are different restaurants in the resort like Oregano Italian restaurant. We went there for lunch and dinner and never got disappointed with the food. Delicious, healthy choices and served in a fancy way. Mayelin, Valentin and other waiters took good care of us. Chez Isabelle, French restaurant with a very exquisite menu and beautiful ambiance. Joel our server did an amazing job! The Lobster House restaurant also with a very tasty menu and wines. Jesus did a great job serving us. There are other restaurants and bars. The service is top notch everywhere you go! The room and bed were clean. All the areas in the resort are clean! Everyone does their own respective jobs with dedication. The pool was clean all the time. The DJ (Michael) by the pool kept everyone entertained. I could write all day about the wonderful experience we had in here, but I’ll leave it for next time because we are planning to come back again next year. Thank you to everyone for their hospitality, smiley faces and for their wonderful jobs in every aspect of the resort! We highly recommend The Excellence Punta Cana!
