Excellence Punta Cana

This was my first solo international trip and Excellence Punta Cana exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. As a solo traveler, I never felt uncomfortable or out of place. The resort was beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere, a gorgeous beach, and well-maintained grounds. My room was clean, comfortable, and having a private hot tub made it even more enjoyable. The food was excellent. My favorite restaurants was Magna and Chez Isabelle. Every course was amazing, and they ended up being the best meals I had during my stay. I also enjoyed the Grill and several other restaurants. There was always something delicious to choose from. One thing I really appreciated was the complimentary private airport transportation to and from the resort. It made arriving and departing completely stress free and the drivers were professional and on time. What I loved most was the peaceful atmosphere. I could do what I wanted, when I wanted, and truly disconnect from everyday life. Leaving was honestly the hardest part. This trip gave me confidence, helped me relax, and reminded me how important it is to take time for yourself. It was an experience I will never forget. I would absolutely recommend Excellence Punta Cana to couples and solo travelers and I would happily return. Thank you to everyone at Excellence Punta Cana for making my first international solo trip so special.

The resort itself was wonderful! Service was incredible, the vibe was fun and felt like a family atmosphere among staff. If you are looking for an ocean experience, the ocean itself is angry most of the time and red flagged. We had plenty of fun lounging, being in the pool, eating and drinking. I was overcharged on my credit card when I arrived home. I would encourage cash transactions for excursions and the stores on site. Do not do the snorkeling excursion, it was awful. We were told 35 minutes to get to the water, we were on the van almost 2 hours. The water was to be "clear and calm" it was gross, rough and not clear. NOTHING to see as far as fish and coral and water was about 30-40 feet deep. My goggles leaked the whole time. The music was extremely loud and super vulgar on the boat. They park the boat beside other boats and people come on and off your boat for hours. They then took us to swim in shallow water, most of us couldn't touch and it was gross. Dolphins are caged out in the ocean, it was sad. The area for them to swim was smaller than the resort pool. When the excursion was over, no one directed us where to go. Thankfully, we were with a couple who was fluent in Spanish and they helped us. I attempted for 2 days to talk with a manager at the resort about my experience, a manager never came. This was the only downside of the trip. The older gentleman at the excursion desk called me and my friend liars when we tried to talk to him about our experience. So aside from the snorkeling mess, it was a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic time with our friends. Food, Entertainment, and Pool were all fantastic. The main issue that we and I friends had was they had too many open air restaurants and the temp was a bit stuffy for eating. The room A/C units barely kept the rooms cool enough to be enjoyable. Staff did provide a fan, which fixed the issue.
