Excellence Punta Cana

I chose Excellence Punta Cana for a weekend getaway not expecting anything special as my stay was fairly short and boy am I glad I was wrong. I travelled alone as a woman, and not once did I feel alone or unsafe. The staff were incredibly friendly and sweet. I met Cherelyn and Misael, both from the entertainment team, and they were super fun to hang out with and chat. If you’re not the type to loaf around by the pool and beach all day; the resort has scheduled activities every day such as arts and craft workshops, karaoke, water sports, live performances/music, and much more! The food is very good as well, lots of options and very inclusive for people with restricted diets. Overall, I really recommend you, whether you’re alone or with your family, to visit their resort you will not regret it.

We went to the Excellence for 8 nights for our honeymoon. We stayed in a garden view excellence club room and it was lovely with a large bath in the room. We got the excellence club and would reccomend - the additional pools, beach area and comfier loungers were worth it alone, although the main pool looked lovely too. There were always sun loungers available at all times of the day. Restaurants were nice, our favourites were Magna, Spice and the Grill. The evening entertainment was fine but it wasn’t a make or break for us. Drinks were fab, plenty of bars and a big cocktail menu and poolside service was great. I would recommend $30-40 per day for tips for the lovely staff.

After a long day of traveling, we got to our room and ordered room service. The food was horrible and we thought we had made a mistake. We went out for dinner that night and everything changed. The resort is beautiful, the views are beautiful, everyone is so friendly. We had a great time! The cons we experienced are far outweighed by the pros, but here they are: The food in the Club level room service was hit or miss. If pizza is your thing, you don’t have a lot of options unless you eat at The Kitchen Table lunch buffet. Our room had an A/C vent right above the bed that would condensate and drip on our head sometimes in the middle of the night. One day we had a strong fresh paint smell in our room. Special call outs: The service is excellent. The employees are all so friendly and welcoming. The activities were so fun that the days went by fast if you didn’t limit yourself. The property and the views are lovely. A cool breeze on a summer night. In July the sargassum was pretty heavy but they had a tractor clearing the beach. Didn’t stop us from enjoying the ocean either.

If you’re dreaming of powder-soft sand, turquoise water, and a resort that makes you feel like royalty — stop dreaming and book Excellence Punta Cana. We went in June 2026 and it was hands-down one of the best trips of our lives. Do yourself a favor and spring for the Excellence Club. Worth every penny — elevated everything, from service to amenities, and it sets the tone for a truly indulgent getaway. The staff here are the heart and soul of this resort. Dimitro, the manager at Magna, was an absolute highlight — warm, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs the entire stay. And Hipolito, our bellhop, was a total gem. He and my husband bonded over video games, and every time our paths crossed on the property he greeted us like old friends and made sure we had everything we needed. Honestly, everyone on property radiates warmth — constant smiles, genuine “hellos,” and staff always checking in to see if you need anything. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you feel truly cared for. The vibe is relaxed, romantic, and dreamy — think swaying palms, ocean breezes, and couples soaking up the sun everywhere you look. This is a top-tier pick for a honeymoon or anniversary escape. Let’s talk food: it was phenomenal across the board. Multiple restaurants, all delicious, all beautifully presented. The only miss for us was the Italian spot — skip it if you’re short on time, there are far better options to fill your plate with. Everything else? Chef’s kiss. Our room was spotless and perfectly set up, and housekeeping was excellent all week long. Bottom line: sun, sand, incredible people, and food for days. We’re already dreaming about going back. 🌊☀️

We had an amazing stay at Excellence Punta Cana! The resort was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the beach was absolutely stunning. The only small issue was that our anniversary wasn’t initially noted in the system, even though we had mentioned it. However, after we spoke with the front desk, they kindly arranged a special anniversary recognition for us. We really appreciated that they took the time to make our celebration special. Overall, everything was awesome, and we had a wonderful experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing couples getaway.
