Excellence Punta Cana

This has been our second trip to the Excellence Punta Cana. Our room was always clean, the rooftop terrace and pool were a dream. The staff was always responsive and polite and the food and drinks are superb.

We went to Excellence Punta Cana in July of 2025. The grounds are nice and the food is average. What ever you do, do not have an accident on their property. We had an incident that required stitches due to a poorly labled step and the resort could not be less helpful. The on-site doctor was inexperienced and ineffective, and more concerned with us signing away their liability than getting us the help we needed. They cannot do simple stitches on-site so don't get cut too badly. After they told us "we'll get you a ride into town", they made us take a taxi into town past multiple hospitals to a specific medical facility that was over an hour away. After we made it back the resort and management made us pay for our taxi. All of this happened in the middle of the trip meaning we could no longer swim at the beach or have full use of the ameneties. The next day they gave us a card for to use to contact the resort to sort out the details of the incident when we got home. After the trip, upon returning home I started communicating with the customer service reps. They agreed to pay for our medical bills since we had to pay out of pocket and offered 3 free nights. We accepted, signed the paperwork and returned it to them. Since then the money has never been refunded for our bills. Also, everytime I write them they say, "Thanks for letting us know, we'll look into it." Also everytime I call I get transferred to the front desk or customer service and a voicemail picks up that says it's full and can't receive any more messages. It's been almost 7 months and I don't see them ever fulfulling their part of the deal. It's a nice resort, just don't get hurt there.

Resort was Excellent, the only issues we had was the food was great but to make it Excellent we felt that it needed more spices and seasoning. Some of the restaurants lacked flavor in their food. But overall great place to visit.

Our first trip to the DR. The resort staff really tries hard, customer service-wise. The food was average, with the Mexican being the best. Had some egg shells in our scrambled eggs, and the fruit was not good, maybe out of season. It is almost impossible to take a nap outside as staff are always asking if you need something, which is good, but need a DND sign or something. There was an excursion company that was very bothersome also by the pool, they should not be allowed on the property, only on the beach.
