Excellence Punta Cana

Juan Carlos and Christian at the beach were so helpful and attentive every day at the beach. Tip them not because it’s expected but because they deserve it all. They made our trip incredible. Go Yankees!

Excellence Punta Cana was just that. Excellence! The room was beautiful, grounds were impeccable and all of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Food was mostly good.

We were at the Punta Cana Excellence , Excellence Club room 3114 , the week of Feb 8 thru Feb 14 2026 , just a little over a month ago. While we feel the property itself is beautiful and some of the bartenders made some good drinks and were entertaining, all else was a big fail. Our first night after a long day of trave we ate at the lobster house , and it took over 20 min for the waiter (Plata) to take our order as he did not speak much English, and when the food came it was all wrong. We spent most of the remainder of our night trying to get someone from customer service to help with this issue. It took until the next day to talk to a manager regarding this issue and nothing was done. They did tell us our next experience would be better but it was not. We got ready for dinner the following day and had no hot water ,, In fact we had no hot water 3 out of the 6 nights we were there and 2 mornings after the pool and beach. This is supposed to be a top rated all inclusive ?? The next day we went to Magna and the service was slow and food underwhelming. Steak tasted chewy and was very thin and overcooked for an exclusive restaurant. The next morning we went to Magna for breakfast and again the food was just ok , the waiter spilled coffee on my wife's new white dress and all over the table and did nothing to clean it up. If was on the table the entire breakfast as well as my wife. and nobody did anything! We had a decent dinner the next night at Agave but we did get eaten alive by mosquitos as it is open air restaurant. We tried the buffet one night because we were not happy with the food at the restaurants and that was also just okay. Our last night there we tried the Lobster house again and my wife and I were served rotten lobster ( see picture) and I got very sick on my plane ride home and was sick for several weeks when I returned home. We tried to get assistance from customer service manager , and they seem nice when you are face to face , but as soon as you are gone or off the property , you might as well forget about getting in contact with them or anyone on the property. It is impossible to contact anyone for any reason , especially a complaint. The customer service is non-existent and I would not recommend this resort to anyone. Steer clear and beware , you will not get in touch with a live person for any issue. Good luck if you have a problem with credit card or an extra charge , you will not get anyone on the phone. I have been trying to get customer service to respond to an e mail since Feb 19th , that is when they received my request , It is now March 21 and still no response. Prior to arriving I tried to book a massage for my wife but after many e mails and calls to attempt to book , I gave up. The customer service technique here is ignore you and maybe you will stop calling. This is absolutely true. We were promised before we left the property this issue would be handled and were given business cards by 2 different customer service managers. Thet promised they would do something really nice for us on the beach for lunch and dinner with the head chef , we told them our plane leaves in the morning. They told us contact us , we will do something for you..They never responded as promised to many e mails, Now we cant even get a response from the customer service dept which whom we filed a complaint. Who wants to spend over 5 thousand dollars plus airfare for this. Worst vacation we ever had ! We are looking for some compensation for this awful vacation , but we can not get anyone to even talk to us.

This resort is beautiful, nicely kept and clean. The people is what makes it amazing. No attitude, mostly just smiles and always willing to help. You just have to ask. Great beach for walking, but if its windy you may not be able to swim in the ocean as the waves get quite big and red flags come up, so lifeguards keep you out. This place does have an awesome pool ( s) that are large and very swimmable. The food is not consistent, sometimes good and sometime very, VERY average. If your going for the food you maybe disappointed. Overall we had 10 good days. Housekeeping was so, so.
