Excellence Punta Cana

Great experience here! Check in was a bit slow but during the stay had a great time. Service was great all around. Sad that most games and other fun activities shut down at night. Jonathan made sure our checkout was perfect.

we love excellence. andrely the bellhop was an excellent mood pick up when we were very upset to leave. all restaurants were amazing and the pools are beautiful. we would love to come back immediately

Me and my Partner had a great time at Excellence Punta Cana and we would use the excellence chain elsewhere as this was our first time staying with them. First of all, the positives: 1. The rooms were brilliant /clean/comfy and the cleaning service was great every day. 2. We received a complimentary upgrade to the Excellence club when we arrived which we made use of with the private beach area and bar. We'd pay for this service again if we went back. 3. The entertainment team were amazing, and constantly got people smiling everyday and evening. 4. Most of the entertainment in the evening was good, especially the Dominican Night which we thoroughly enjoyed. 5. Service all round at the resort was mostly really good. The less positives: 1. My partner was poorly following a night at one of the restaurant. We thought it could have just been the change in temperature/climate being from England but the more people we spoke too, it seemed a common theme at the particular restaurant. 2. Food was hit or miss. Some restaurants we really enjoyed, like The Grill/Spice and others we didn't enjoy. This is somewhat to be expected at an all inclusive.

Significantly wider ocean front real estate than other resorts we have visited at Bavaro beach offering the opportunity to spread out. Excellence club offers terrific seating - cushioned loungers. Overall, the resort offers the feel of a collection of smaller resorts with multiple smaller pools vs one main party pool you get at other places. Dinner at Magna was excellent. Other restaurants are on par with typical all inclusive. Overall very clean and great service. If you spend most of the day away from your room and enjoy a quieter, more secluded experience then Excellence is a great choice. Also - never had to fight for a seat - plenty of choices regardless of when we arrived at the pool or beach. Downsides - rooms do not have well appointed furnishings or decor. But bed was comfortable. And dinner service at some restaurants was slow. Need to be patient and don’t wait until you are starving for dinner. Last thing - the ocean is rough here - not good for swimming or boating.

This is a lovely place with clean rooms, pools and nice restaurants. The service is also very good. The beach is nice and long for great walks.
