Excellence Punta Cana

The resort itself is nice. Rooms are clean, pools are nice, staff is all very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I think I had 2 good dinners the entire week we were there. Agave, their Mexican restaurant had really good food. The queso was cold and I think was basically a melted block of velveta, but everything else was good. Spice, their Sushi restaurant was by far our best meal!

This was our 4th trip to Excellence Punta. I cannot say enough about the way the staff makes us feel. From Elizabeth in The Kitchen and Agave to the Excellence Club beach staff and bar staff. (Reison, Juan Carlo and all the others - I should have written down names). We are already planning our 2027 return with our friends. This will be our 5th trip and their 4th. We did experience a group,of people that didn’t seem to research the kind of resort they were at. I believe they would have been more suited to a party resort based on their shenanigans at the waterfall pool. Several guests decided to get up and move to another location. My only two complaints (this will not stop us from returning) would be: (1) We requested our room number more than 10 months in advance and we received notification the day before we arrived that our room was not available. Our friends requested the room they wanted and were not informed until the day of arrival that their room was not available. Once you selector your room, you cannot change it, so why would they not know to leave that room available knowing when we were arriving. The resort was maybe at 60% capacity. (2) The menu selection at all of the restaurants has changed with most only giving a couple of options for dinner. In years past, the menus had a much better variety. This may not be a problem for some people, but there were times this year where nothing on the menus sounded good to me. I don’t eat seafood. The beach was spectacular as always. The waves can be large. We love jumping waves, but they may be a little too much for those not familiar with that type of beach environment.

We had the best time at the Excellence. Service was amazing and food was great! We will definitely be coming back!

Food wasn’t that good small selection of restaurants and everything was tasteless . I The drinks are awful couldn’t find a decent drink .everything is from unnatural substance very shortcut .My room smelled like mildew ceiling falling down in shower room 6101,seaweeds cover beach with a tractor blowing Diesel that turned in my stomach every day could not use the beach,piles of horse manure on the beach

Highs - very nice sand beach, beautiful grounds, great pool, nice room, great value. Less Good - Lots of seaweed (in spite of efforts to remove it daily), food quality was mid, Evening entertainment was very hit or miss.
