Excellence Punta Cana

Overall, this is a nice resort. The beach is beautiful although the waves are too rough to get in most days. 1/5 days we stayed the red flags were out and they’d whistle at you if you went in to cool off (up to your knees). If you want a good seat around the pool or beach, you have to wake up and set towels/belongings on the seats before you even go to breakfast, otherwise there will not be any available later in the morning. Seats will have personal items on them for hours on end, but will remain unoccupied and not allowing others to sit there. Also, even in the exclusive, roped off excellence club area, scammers walk the beach with exotic animals, selling the opportunity to pose with them. They offer to take the pictures on your phone and when all is said and done, they tell you the 2 minutes of their time is going to cost over $120. Even if you ask them beforehand how much, they will tell you a reasonable price, in our case $30. It’s an obvious scam and the fact that these scammers, who are obviously not part of Excellence, can walk right up to paying customers and suck them into their ploy, is absurd. The food is decent but mediocre for sure, depending on the restaurant. Room service food is microwave quality at best. Some of the apps at several of the restaurants seem like they were microwaved as well. Multiple meals came out cold/undercooked and there’s no salt/pepper at the tables to counter the blandness of some of the meals. Some of the bartenders/servers seemed annoyed when asking for drinks, even after receiving generous tips. There were a handful of employees who made up for the lacking areas and we did have a nice, relaxing trip. But the things mentioned above should be addressed to improve the quality of this resort.

Cannot compare to The Excellence Property in Rivera Maya. Room Service was hit or miss. The food was below average in our opinion. It was my husbands birthday and they specifically asked questions related to it when we checked in then forgot to celebrate it at the restaurant we picked. Could never get a chair at the beach or pool . The staff was very nice but we will not return. Beach was rough could not get in water- we wish we would have looked at location better. Shower was large but poor design leaked all over floor.

These amazing gentlemen made my stay unforgettable. Every day was filled with warmth, kindness, and genuine smiles. It wasn’t just the beautiful beach, it was the way they made me feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. The service was outstanding, but the energy and heart they bring each day is what truly made the experience special. Andrely was excellence. The grill was good

We had an absolutely amazing time on our honeymoon! From the moment we arrived until the second we departed, we were treated like royalty. Miguel was exceptional—he made us feel so incredibly welcomed and genuinely cared for throughout our entire stay. A huge shoutout to Luis, our photographer, who was fantastic! He made us feel so comfortable behind the lens and the photos are wonderful. We already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
