Excellence Punta Cana

Pros: A grand entrance feel when you arrive. The resort is kept secure. Friendly staff. The distance from other resorts was nice. The beach was beautiful. All inclusive is mostly true. (have to pay extra for non-house wines and sake). Rooms are kept cool, clean and comfortable. Swim-up bar is fun, if a little out-of-the-way. Grounds are clean and maintained well. Crafts were a fun distraction but limited. The spa is quaint and staff was super accommodating. Cons: food quality overall was hit or miss. Extremely lacking allergin food labeling (such as gluten-free). staff not trained on appropriate allergen questions for their occasion. Not celiac safe! Facilities seemed a bit dated. Pools had tiles falling off. Daytime activities are limited and only can accommodate 20-25 ppl and often there are many many more that want to participate. Evening entertainment was subpar at best. A big disappointment. (circus night was a highlight). The ocean was red flag the week we were there and is not swimmable.

⸻ 🌐 Tripadvisor review (copy & paste) Unexpected Charges and Unprofessional Staff Behavior During my recent stay at Excellence Punta Cana, I encountered two concerning issues that were not resolved on-site. First, a $140 charge was added to my bill at checkout without explanation. Staff were unable to clarify what this charge was for, which is unacceptable for a property of this level. Second, there were multiple instances of unprofessional staff behavior directed toward my partner, including unsolicited personal comments and interactions that made her uncomfortable. I have reached out to the resort directly but have not received any response so far. Given the reputation of this brand, I expected significantly better transparency and professionalism. I hope management addresses these appropriately.

Excellence Punta Cana was truly unforgettable—luxury, beauty, and the warmest hospitality all in one. Every detail was perfect, but what made it extra special was the people. Huge shoutout to Chary, Cherylyn, and Masiel (the absolute life of the pool party!), and Shaggy for bringing such incredible energy. Everyone made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. I’ll definitely be back and recommending this paradise to everyone 🤍✨ I can confidently say my family and I all felt EXCELLENT 🥰🙏🏽

Overall this place was really nice. We did have the Excellence Club accommodations which I felt enhanced our trip. It was more of a chill location and not where you go to turn up and party which I am okay with. If a mistake was made they did correct it. My overall experience was wonderful but that was also due to the people that we met while we were there.
