Excellence Punta Cana

Miquel Angel was amazing!! We travel a lot and this has been our best yet! Resort is beautiful and well maintained. They tell your welcome home when you arrive and they mean it. You are treated like family by everyone. This resort invests in you and you having the best time.

From the moment we checked in we felt like we were at home. There was specific care and attention the entire time we were here. My partner has severe allergies and the staff was more than accommodating and made sure both of our experiences were top notch. The cleanliness of the resort by far is superior to other resorts I have been to. The food was amazing and not once was something lacking. Special attention to these employees who made our experience even more special, Moises - el sol bar Manauri - lobster house Elizabeth - agave Luis H. - the kitchen / lobster house Joandry - boss bars We will be back!

We returned to excellence Punta Cana for our 9th stay this past November. Had a wonderful time despite some management changes and renovations going on. Staff is still very friendly and accommodating. I am afraid to mention names of who all made our trip special because I know I will miss some but here are a few. Bar staff were all great. Always checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Louis, Kendry, Moises, Kelvin, Dionel, Amelia, Altagracia, Erika, Demarys….all wonderful people. Jesus, Gabriela and Dimitrio also very friendly and like family. Entertainment staff were great. Even tho they were working though some changes with what they were allowed to do because of new management and renovations going on, they all did their best to make our stay fun. Biannie, Luis Manuel, Jose, Maria, Misael, Cappuccino, and Dignora, (even tho she struggle with English, she tried very hard to communicate with us) We really missed the happy hour entertainment at the martini bar. They used to have a sax player or a singer every day around 5:30. You could sit and enjoy when meeting up with friends and enjoying a pre dinner cocktail. I really hope they bring that back. The evening show had really regressed from what it previously was. Seems their go to is karaoke. Not our thing. Also, the mystic moon night was terrible. Monotonous music throughout the resort and no place to escape it except for your room. That said, we understand that they have some new evening entertainment coming now that the stage renovations are complete. We look forward to seeing the new shows on our next visit. Food over all was great. Steak at the grill was very tasty, although they do need some new steak knives, lol. A little hard to cut with a butter knife. In the past we have always enjoyed a few breakfasts at the lobster house. This year we were very disappointed with the minimal menu selection. Didn’t even have toast on the menu. The hot cakes my husband ordered were not fresh. Almost like they were reheated from the day before. And took forever for us to get our meal. I had ordered yogurt and it took 45 min to get it. I really hope they can provide a bit faster service there, fresher food and a more extensive menu in the future We really enjoyed playing pickle ball every morning. Great courts and a great way to get some exercise and meet other pickleball enthusiasts. Overall our stay was great. Beautiful up kept grounds, clean and comfortable rooms, and an amazing wonderful staff. We look forward to our next visit in a year or two.

Breakfast at the lobster house could be improved. Faster service and fresher food The grill really needs new steak knives. Did not appreciate the mystic moon night….monotonous music and no where to escape it in the main area. Still love the place. Beautiful, clean and great staff. Really miss the happy hour entertainment sax player and singers.

Being that it was you 25th Anniversary while we were there, some of the daily activities had been cancelled that I really wanted to participate in. The breakfast menu changed mid stay at Magna that didn't accommodate a variety of normal breakfast choices like waffles, pancakes, bacon and French toast. Although the staff was more than accommodating and got these items for us when requested. When we first checked in at the Excellence Club, they did not have our status correct, but Anna corrected it and got us what we have achieved in staying at your resort now four times and Excellence in Playa Mujeres one stay. Your staff does an excellent job at services to guest. I am all about changes/improvements when they enhance a guests stay, but I feel some of the changes/improvements did not have the guests in mind. Like for instance the food choices. Some of your best foods where no longer available at our favorite restaurants like Magna, Chez Isabel, The Lobster House and Spice. You were doing premieres of shows this week and I can see the potential, but the Audio was terrible and pierced my ears. You couldn't even understand what anyone was saying or singing into the microphone. The evening entertainment needs a lot of work. Is there a possibility for a night club? A place to dance and sing? Overall, we love this resort, and we have already booked for next year.
