Excellent, Attentive Staff
This was my wife's and my first stay at this Excellence hotel. The staff was wonderful. Maria was a standout. My wife and I took the bracelet-making class and she was great. Misael led the pool Bingo and other activities as did Maria, and he was a lot of fun. Miguel, Shagy were also terrific. All the staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was also excellent, however we were disappointed when we ate at the French restaurant Chez Isabella. I ordered the lamb dish and was surprised to find three really tiny lamb chops, almost miniatures like one would get as an appetizer, not a main course. I got about three bites out of it and that was it. The Kitchen Buffet restaurant was just the opposite. Such a great variety of foods and there were stations where the chefs would prepare certain dishes to your liking. We ate at most of the restaurants there and they were all fine, but the Kitchen Buffet was a standout.

This is the first (I think) Excellence. There are "rough areas" around the edges. Showers are painted & not tiled; small things like that if you really look. HOWEVER! THIS IS A GREAT RESORT. The price tips it over the edge. Issues: order room service breakfast & skip the buffet. room service was always fast & great, all times of day. all other food & bars were excellent! Sound & light at night entertainment could be improved. for the sun lovers:swim outs probably aren't the way to go. Lots of shade on all swim outs we found. not a problem, though, LOTS OF CHAIRS AROUND POOL. easiest "chair game" i have ever had at an all inclusive. The pool, the beach, the ocean & views more than make up for any shortcomings you might find that i didn't find.

This resort was FABULOUS! You are totally taken care of. When you arrive you receive a glass of champagne, a cool towel to wipe your face and hands, and a big “Welcome Home!". I am very big on service and the service I received at the Excellence Punta Cana was unmatched. Plus it's only for adults… so no screaming kids! The food was very good and they offer premium drinks. I would stay there again anytime.
