Juan Carlos Is Truly the Heart of This Resort We have been coming to this resort since 2005, and while the resort itself is what originally drew us here, the staff is absolutely the reason we continue to come back. No one represents that better than Juan Carlos. Juan has been here for 16 years, and he has been one of our favorite people for as long as we can remember. Every single time we return, seeing Juan feels like seeing family. He remembers us, genuinely cares about us, and always goes above and beyond to make sure our trip is incredible. This visit was no different. He helped us with so many things throughout our stay, many of which he certainly did not have to do. If there was something we needed, Juan found a way to make it happen. What makes Juan so special is that his level of service never feels forced or like he is simply doing his job. He genuinely cares. He notices the little things, anticipates what guests need, solves problems, and makes people feel important and welcome. After 16 years of dedication, experience, and the relationships he has built with returning guests, I truly do not understand how this man is not in management already. If anyone deserves to be recognized and promoted, it is Juan Carlos. He represents exactly what you want in someone leading and teaching other employees what exceptional hospitality should look like. Benjamin was another highlight of our trip. He is newer, but we absolutely loved him and actually found ourselves following him to the different restaurants because we wanted him as our server. He is friendly, attentive, fun, and made every meal more enjoyable. He is definitely someone we will be looking for when we return. After coming here for more than 20 years, we have seen a lot of changes, but one thing remains true: beautiful resorts can be found in many places, but exceptional people cannot. The resort draws us in, but people like Juan Carlos and Benjamin are why we keep coming back. Juan, thank you for taking care of us year after year and for always making us feel like family. Sixteen years of giving guests this level of service deserves recognition. We hope the people in charge realize what an incredible asset they have in you because we certainly do. And seriously… give this man a promotion already!

Hotel is average, with beautiful gardens but very rough seas , could not go in the water the entire time we were there. Going to the pool everyday to cool off.

A great place to relax and unwind with lots of facilities to enjoy during your stay. Our stay for the week was perfect.

I was sexually harassed by one of the male workers on the property. I would NOT recommend going here.

I absolutely loved my stay at Excellence Punta Cana. My mom, sister, and I stayed for 6 days. The resort itself was beautiful. I had upgraded to the excellence club, which was great. I have to shout out Hipolito who started our trip off with great energy. Lisandro, Albert, Juan Carlos, Adrian, and Bienvenidos at the Excellence Pool were the best. We absolutely loved them and they made sure we were always taken care of. Luis H. that worked at Kitchen Table in the morning and The Grille at night was so sweet. We had to go find him and say good bye our last night. Edward at Las Olas and The Grille was also amazing! The room was clean and anything we needed was easily provided to us. We ate at Kitchen Table for breakfast which was a buffet which had great options. Aroma, the coffee shop also offered healthy option like over night oats. We ate at The Grille twice for dinner. The steak is so delicious! We ate at Agave and really enjoyed the steak fajitas. There was some sort of entertainment every night and actives through out the day. I had a poor experience at a different resort last summer in DR and was really nervous about coming again with my family, but it was truly amazing and I could have stayed another 6 days. I can not wait to plan another trip here.
