Excellence Punta Cana

This was our 8th visit to EPC (it would have been the 9th but due to the pandemic EPC was closed and we went to El Carmen). Our trip was booked in July 2025. As we were Platinum level the charge for our room was the rate for the room class below the one which we chose. This is a nice way to ensure that you get the benefit of an upgrade. Under the old system 'upgrades' were never available when you checked in. Another change in the booking process was the ability to choose your specific room within the class that you booked. We booked a Excellence Club Level Honeymoon suite ocean view in Building 3. When booking the site advises that the specific room chosen is not guaranteed. About a week before our trip we received an email from EPC that the room we had chosen was not available but we would still get one at the same level. During check in the concierge let us know that our room was still a Honeymoon suite ocean view but that it was in Building 10. One of the main reasons that we choose Excellence Club Level is that we like being in that part of the resort. We prefer the pools, bars, beach area in the Club section. It is also closer to many of the restaurants. We told the concierge that we would walk to the room offered to us in Building 10. We did so and it was farther than what we wanted. When we told him that we did not want that room our only option given was to stay in a Ex Club with a plunge pool for 2 nights and then move to an Ex Club Honeymoon ocean view. We agreed. When I asked if we would receive a credit for the 2 nights in a room 3 levels below what we paid he said 'no' as we declined the Bdlg 10 room which was our original level. After 1 night in the plunge pool room we asked to stay there for our entire trip instead of moving. I approached him twice about this but was told it was not possible as the room we were in was booked. I told him to give the room which we paid for to the guests who had booked the room we were in as an upgrade. Same answer: NO. I went back to concierge one last time and explained the situation to Angelina (?). She immediately replied 'so you want to keep your wife happy. Don't worry, you do not have to move'. In two minutes she made the accommodation we had been asking for. Regarding the resort as always the room, restaurants, bars and facilities were clean and well maintained. It is nice to see that the boardwalk was replaced since last year. New chairs were put on the room balconies while we were there. The strength of this resort in our opinion lies in the quality of the staff. After visiting for many years it is nice to see the same smiling faces. We want to specifically recognize Joan (bell hop), Hendrix (Club Pool), Denosio (Lobster House) and Soriano (Palms Bar). We will be visiting again but if we book in Excellence Club the expectation is that our room will be in the Excellence Club area.

Food was very hit and miss . Quality very average to poor . Food prep and temperature was usually warm to cold . Staff not overly friendly . Except for French restaurant, that was excellent in all categories

Excellence Punta Cana was everything we wanted and more. It's a very laid back atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. All the restaurants were amazing, and especially Magna made it worth it to go into the Excellence club. Reison took care of us daily in the club only area of the beach. The beach is enormous and well cared for and the pools were amazing. Didn't have a problem getting a prime spot on the beach. Would definitely recommend for people looking for a more relaxed atmosphere than a party atmosphere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing couples’ vacation! The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Housekeeping was wonderful—our room was always spotless and comfortable. The entire property was beautifully maintained and clean. Drinks were refreshing and well-made, and the food was absolutely spectacular with so many delicious options. Truly an all-inclusive experience that exceeded our expectations! It has ruined us from any other future vacations with anyone but Excellence. We will be back.

Andrely the bell boy was excellente! Everything was smooth and successful. My favorite restaurants to eat at were Agave and Spice. Thank you Excellence Punta Cana for an amazing vacation.
