Group - Family of 8 all adults. Parents 50s & 3x 20s couples Overall This place is beautiful, the views and vibe are 10/10. The food is good given it is an island in the Caribbean, no one had issues with getting sick. Breakfast was great and they offer both buffet and sit-down. Lunches were solid and having beach service is luxurious. We almost had too good of service with people asking if we needed anything. The pools were nice and beach is what you expect out of postcard. Plenty of activities to do and you are free to move around even though there is a club area. Dinner were all good and what I expect from a Caribbean island. I would say maybe the shows/nightlife is a bit underwhelming but we were off season. They do a fantastic job cleaning and the service people were friendly from desk staff, bartenders, waiters and even the people who restock the refrigerator. Overall I would recommend this place without hesitation. Service -Great and everyone friendly - too many to name because all good. -However, have to mention one in particular: HANNAH at the front desk. She helped us with everything, including a special birthday dinner for our daughter. She made us a reservation at the French restaurant and asked us what her favorite dessert was so they could have it for her. Without thinking about the fact that we were in the Dominican Republic, we said tiramisu. It was the best tiramisu any of us had ever had. When we later thanked Hannah, she told us that they had never made it before, but found a recipe to make it so that my daughter‘s night was special. That is just incredible! Size -Good with not being too small or too big Pool/Beach -Always get a chair -Lots of sunny spots and also shady spots under umbrellas or palapas -All the towels you want -Can be in activities area or quiet area -Swimming can be closed on the beach to keep you safe, so if you just walk to the right side of the resort, then you can swim -Big waves so it is helpful to have person with you where they break because they are strong Food -Not a problem getting a table at restaurants if don’t go at crowded time -Closures due to the off-season we’re not a problem as they rotated the restaurants -Out of things at every meal but still enough choices -We embraced it and saw as entertainment -Vegetarian check each meal as sometimes kitchen doesn’t get the memo and you will have meat in your dish -Buffet restaurant is always reliable with tons of choices -Coffee and gelato all day was amazing -Coco Locos so fun and delicious -Non-alcoholic drinks can be made for everything Rooms -Spacious and clean -Cleaned in AM and turn down service in PM -Water and garden view both nice -Quiet -Full refrigerator stocked daily plus a bottle of Vodka, whiskey, rum Toiletries -In all rooms and not just club -Shampoo -Conditioner -Body wash -Body lotion -Toothbrush -Toothpaste -Cotton balls and Q-tips -Bathrobe -Slippers -Umbrella -Hairdryer -Steamer Activities -All day and can participate or not -Variety with classes or sports -Arrive early to get a spot Entertainment -Bands that played for the hour before the nightly shows were oftentimes the best part of the evening -Crew was great and interacts with everyone -Fun Bingo should be offered every night -It was off-season and they were updating so they had a temporary stage, overall not an issue. Gym -Lots of machines -Variety of classes -Water, smoothies, and towels -Tennis courts, pickleball courts, pool tables, ping-pong tables Parrots -Across from the shops -Look for red and blue up in the trees, usually in the tree when standing on the road to the right of the landing or when on landing to the right in the far side/corner -Do not get close for your safety, but just enjoy looking at them in the trees Tips -You already spent thousands, so bring a few hundred to appreciate the staff! Club -Has some nice things but not necessary and don’t feel like a second-class citizen because not in club Seasons transfer -Hard to find and other companies will try to get you to pay for theirs -Keep walking past the initial area where the rental cars and ground transfers are -Once find it, they are very nice and drive safely to the hotel

We spent five days here at the end of February and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The overall atmosphere is peaceful—none of the loud, nonstop music you sometimes find at other resorts, which we really appreciated. We booked the Club Level, which added several nice perks: a dedicated check‑in area, an exclusive pool and beach section, and access to an additional restaurant. The dining throughout the resort was very good, and the French restaurant ended up being our favorite. The bar at Magna was another highlight—the Smokey Old Fashioned was excellent, and the bubble machine for the martinis was a fun touch. Two staff members truly made our stay memorable. Hendrix at the Club Pool was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Demaris, a waitress in the theater area, was another warm and welcoming presence. Their service really stood out. The only downside was the air conditioning in our room. Even after maintenance checked it, the room never cooled properly or removed enough humidity. The resort provided a dehumidifier, which helped, but the temperature still stayed around 72°F. It was manageable, but after a day in the sun we would have preferred it cooler. Overall, this is a beautiful and relaxing resort with excellent service and great dining. With improved room cooling, it would be close to perfect.

This was our third Excellence trip. El Carmene, Playa Muerjes and this one, Punta Cana. Check in was welcoming but they only served champagne; I dont drink so water or sparking water would have been nice. Each trip we have booked within the Excellence Club so I can only speak of that. We loved the check in. It’s always been in a private area and they ask many requests making it more personal. We had a concierge available which we communicated through what’s app for reservations, room requests and questions . We had the roof top pool room which was nice. We prefer that over the beach. If you want a particular chair at the beach or pool, you must claim early. The excellence club had two pools and an area on the beach. I would say they are much quieter than the main so if you want more of a party atmosphere I would go to the main. We had a maintenance issue that was repaired very quickly. nice to request a time for cleaning and turn down if you want. Not sure if this is available for other rooms. More timely room service for meals if requested with your concierge. Several smokers on the property. Not an issue except those that smoked on their balcony which blew towards us frequently. We just moved from our balance to the rooftop. All three resorts have pretty much the same restaurants and the same menu. Book the habatchi restaurant upon arrival. It was entertaining but average food quality. Magna was probably the best (only for club members). Agave was great and the steak house was good as well. Very few gluten free options but each restaurant had a plant based menu so that is nice. The breakfast/lunch buffets were great but none of the items were marked gluten free and many weren’t marked at all. the only gluten free carb was a chocolate muffin. The coffee shop was ok. The best was playa mujeres. Many gf desserts and more options over PC and EC (fruit, smoothies, veggies dips, etc). They have “ice cream” at all the coffee shops but it really is ice milk. Desserts are better at the restaurants but very few gf. The PM coffee shop was much better than the other two resorts. Missed the taco truck at PM as well as the smoothie bar. But, PM is VERY small. PC is the largest and has a much more beautiful property. The ecological park walk is very nice with many exotic birds. The resort is large enough to walk around the buildings alone. There was a cute village type area with shops. All the spas were very nice. Since we were Diamond status we could do the Water Therapy daily. I would try it anyways as it’s very cool. We received a free treatment as well (back scrub and massage). the prices were very high, even with their daily specials of 20-25% off. At both EC and here we found a massage booth right down the beach. The one at PC is the the left of the resort. $65 for 70 minutes, and $95 for 100 minutes. Language barrier but i ended up drawing a diagram where I wanted them to focus. It was covered but open and breezy. We never stayed up for the shows, did the activities or drank alcohol so I cannot speak on that. Over all it was very nice. Since we did this resort three years in a row, became members and diamond status we saved several thousand on this last trip.

This resort was FABULOUS! You are totally taken care of. When you arrive you receive a glass of champagne, a cool towel to wipe your face and hands, and a big “Welcome Home!". I am very big on service and the service I received at the Excellence Punta Cana was unmatched. Plus it's only for adults… so no screaming kids! The food was very good and they offer premium drinks. I would stay there again anytime.
