Excellence Punta Cana

We saw a table with 6 chairs and the server told us we couldn’t sit there. She was extrodinarily rude and unkind and this is supposed to be the excellent experience. She continued to be extraordinarily petty and unkind. It felt as though it was her intent to make our last night difficult. Really horrible service.

You won’t be disappointed! This was one of the best all inclusive vacations we’ve ever had. The place is gorgeous and clean, the beach is spectacular and the staff are wonderful! Make sure you visit Jordania in the Aroma cafe for the most delicious lattes! Panda is an amazing event specialist and the shows are fabulous. Every meal we had was delicious. Especially the lobster house and teppanyaki. 10/10

We have a mixed review of this Excellence Resort. Our dinners were outstanding, the the breakfast was terrible. We loved our room, the beach and the pools. The service around the pools and at the beach was non-existent. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks everytime. One day we had a server poolside who actually served us drinks (we tipped her very well!) Tipping didn't seem to change the poor service at all.

Wonderful stay and service! The Grill was incredible. The bell boy service with Andrely was spectacular! We love The Excellence and will always return.

Pros: A grand entrance feel when you arrive. The resort is kept secure. Friendly staff. The distance from other resorts was nice. The beach was beautiful. All inclusive is mostly true. (have to pay extra for non-house wines and sake). Rooms are kept cool, clean and comfortable. Swim-up bar is fun, if a little out-of-the-way. Grounds are clean and maintained well. Crafts were a fun distraction but limited. The spa is quaint and staff was super accommodating. Cons: food quality overall was hit or miss. Extremely lacking allergin food labeling (such as gluten-free). staff not trained on appropriate allergen questions for their occasion. Not celiac safe! Facilities seemed a bit dated. Pools had tiles falling off. Daytime activities are limited and only can accommodate 20-25 ppl and often there are many many more that want to participate. Evening entertainment was subpar at best. A big disappointment. (circus night was a highlight). The ocean was red flag the week we were there and is not swimmable.
