plumbing from room above leaked and was moved to lower room level. they have not made it right and the resort is so old they don't seem to care.

We could not have had a better week!! The service is second to none (better than what Disney World USED to be). This is a well-oiled machine! There is attention to every detail throughout the resort. Beach, pools, grounds, rooms, restaurants, bars, public areas, EVERYTHING is taken care of constantly. After a storm one night, there were leaves in the grass. I made a comment to my husband that I bet they didn't stay there long. Those leaves were gone by breakfast. The staff here is on top of everything. They keep the whole resort looking brand new. We could relax, or we could be active. There is much to do there, or one can just relax and enjoy the pool and the beach. Their activities staff is excellent, and the activities are varied. Reison on the beach kept the drinks coming, gave us fresh towels when needed, brought our lunch to us, and took care of us all week. He seemed genuinely happy to be there, not just trying to get tips. He is a super friendly sweet friend! We miss him already! Hector is a bartender at the Magna lounge who makes the best bubble martinis. He's also a super nice guy. Manauri, our waiter at Magna restaurant, is attentive, friendly, and super! Most of the staff at the resort seems happy to be there. They are all hard workers! We were very impressed! Drinks were fantastic! The bar menus have an EXCELLENT variety. We were pleased with the food. It's a all-inclusive resort, and the food was better than expected. Portions were perfectly sized. We never left a restaurant hungry, but we weren't miserable either. We liked that a lot! The views from our tables were gorgeous. The atmosphere of all of the restaurants fit the themes of the restaurants or the resort, and were perfect! Our room was better than expected. We paid for an ocean view room, but it was not just a view, it was a panoramic span of palm trees and turquoise water! It was kept clean and stocked with towels, beverages, and snacks. We recommend taking the time to explore. There are some beautiful gardens all around the resort. Some colorful parrots live across from the shops. Shoot a game of pool or play ping pong outside. There's archery, tennis, basketball, and pickleball all in a quiet area of the resort near the well-stocked gym. The transfer service to and from the airport was flawless. The check-in and check-out service is easy. Such a friendly staff! I cannot say enough about the staff! We were made to feel welcome and like familia!

Open letter to the owner of Excellence Finest Punta Cana This is not a complaint. It is a clear signal that something is fundamentally broken in your operation. The in-room service is consistently poor. Basic cleanliness standards are not being met. Showers are left dirty, rooms are not properly cleaned, and repeated requests are ignored. We even had situations where there were no towels provided for infants, which is unacceptable at any level, let alone a hotel positioning itself as luxury. The issues go beyond the room. There is bird waste regularly found in the pool, which raises serious hygiene concerns. Restaurants involve long wait times that are not managed properly, significantly impacting the guest experience. What is most concerning is not just the issues themselves, but the lack of response. Multiple complaints were raised and simply ignored. That reflects a systemic failure in management and guest care. At this price point, expectations are not high, they are basic. Cleanliness, responsiveness, and operational control should be a given. Today, the reality is that guests would receive a better, more consistent experience in a standard 3-star hotel in Europe. This property is not delivering value for money. Not even close.
