Excellence Punta Cana

Visited for my 40th birthday. Everyone was so amazing! We did a photoshoot and had so much fun with the photographer. Andrely was amazing and helped us with all of our luggage. Our favorite restaurants were The Grill and Los Olas. We were super impressed with the cleanliness and the resort overall.

Andrely bell boy was excellent, was 5 minutes early and very welcoming! Agave was absolutely amazing, great food and good service. Moises at the Sol Bar was AMAZING and always willing to make our drinks perfect.

We spent four nights and five days at Excellence Punta Cana (EPC). This was my wife and my fifth stay at an Excellence resort and first one here, and overall we continue to be big fans of the brand. Our last visit was in 2023 at Excellence El Carmen, which is only about five minutes down the road. You can tell Excellence acquired this property after it was originally built, because the overall layout and footprint feel different from other Excellence resorts. That said, the grounds are still beautiful, and the staff does a great job keeping the common areas clean, manicured, and inviting. They are working on it everyday and at every level. Did we enjoy our vacation? Absolutely. Would we return to this specific resort? Probably not. For us, the overall value just seems stronger at other Excellence properties we’ve visited. The rooms here feel noticeably older. In our room, some of the molding was loose or missing, which stood out compared to our past experiences. We also booked a “swim-out” suite, and it didn’t match what we’ve come to expect. At other Excellence resorts, swim-outs are just steps from the pool. Ours was closer to 75 feet away, and friends of ours even had a sidewalk between their room and the pool. The definition of “swim-out” at this resort is definitely different than at other Excellence locations. Food overall was good. I had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had at the French restaurant, and the hibachi at the Asian restaurant was excellent. Poolside lunch service was hit or miss—one day it took over an hour, another about 30 minutes. The food itself was good both days, but the inconsistency was noticeable. We tried the buffet once for breakfast and didn’t return. The made-to-order stations (omelets, crêpes, etc.) were popular, but the rest didn’t really appeal to us. We did, however, really enjoy our morning coffee and evening ice cream from the café. Drinks were good overall, though a bit limited. There’s no bourbon, so an Old Fashioned isn’t really an option. I was also hoping for more house red wine choices, but every bar and restaurant only offered the same cabernet or merlot. What truly makes Excellence “Excellence,” though, is the staff. Hands down, they are the best part of the experience—friendly, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable people. They consistently set this brand apart.

Supervisor Miguel was great. Moses was a good bartender. 10/10 stay. We were treated like royalty definitely worth it.

Most wonderful experience ever Miguel was fantastic as well as all the staff, food was amazing and all the night life was as well
