We just returned from our 7 day, 6 night visit to Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana with my 4 kids. We had two connecting rooms 3521 and 3522. Let me first start by saying we came to this resort because we stayed in Paradisus Esmeralda in Riviera Maya a year and a half ago, and we absolutely loved it there, so we decided to try this Paradisus. THE GOOD -When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was very nice and because we had originally reserved a family suite, she was nice enough to give us 2 adjoining rooms in the "reserve section of Palma Real", not to be confused with The Reserve Hotel, however. This just meant that we got the purple colored wristlets and we allowed to swim in the "Reserve" pool which is nice and the "Reserve" section of the beach. -Olio is a great fast service restaurant very close to the Reserve pool and it is great for lunch serving little items and the pizza there was a winner for my kids. -Yessenia at the Reserve pool, Obeidy at the Reserve beach, and Raul at the Reserve Pool were all very good and made sure we were taken care of and had cabanas everyday. -We had no problem getting our own private cabana in the Reserve section. However, if you are not staying in the Reserve section, it is much more difficult to secure a cabana. -The sunset and palms on the beach are spectacular -The shows at night are ok. My kids enjoyed the Magic Show and the Circus Show. THE BAD -The pools are EXTREMELY deep for my 5 and 7 year old at about 5 feet. They have a tiny 6 inch deep pool next to the Reserve pool, But, that is more like for teenie tiny babies. -There is NO KIDS CLUB at this resort -By Day 2, my kids wanted a better pool, so we were told we can take a golf cart to "The Reserve at Paradisus" which is a completely different hotel. They have an amazing kids pool right next to the Kids Club. We liked it so much that we wanted to just stay there the whole day. However, we were told we cannot order drinks and food there. Well, what is the point? We decided to go back to our resort at Palma Real and just deal with the deeper pools. THE UGLY -It is very difficult to reserve a restaurant for dinner. You have to go to the reservation desk in the morning, the day that you want to reserve for dinner and reserve for only 2 days at a time. We managed to do this, regardless, and got in to the restaurants we wanted. When we got there we were surprised at how empty they were because we were told that they were full. - We ate at the following restaurants -Bana-Hibachi-it was okay. Kind of old inside and food was so, so -Rare-Steakhouse- my husband liked the steak -Aqua - Mediterranean- it was ok -Mizu- another Hibachi- a little better than Bana -Vento-Mediterranean-we liked this one probably the best all in all, the food at this Paradisus is disappointing. The food at the buffet (NAOS) was kind of gross to be honest. The refrigerated items are all half melting, the ice cream is very melted, the cheese looks luke warm. I didn't dare touch the ceviche cups because they looked slimy. I could not believe the quality of the food compared to Paradisus Riviera Maya. THE UGLY -The beach has nice views, but lots of seaweed. We tried walking one morning and you constantly get harassed by vendors. At some of the other resorts, they have banned this and I do not know why that Paradisus hasn't . -We found lots of gross, flying insects a little bigger than fruitflies all over our room. We also found a mini lizard, or salamander. We caught him in a cup and released him outside. -The rooms are very outdated and need help. -There was a guy that followed us around from day 1 making sure we were taken care of. We thought he was our "concierge". He turned out to be a Melia timeshare recruiter. We told him we were not interested in going to the promotion and we never saw him again. All in all, we would not return here. We think for the price we paid, we could have gone somewhere much nicer. We walked around The Reserve at Paradisus because some of the restaurants are there and it is a much nicer, higher end hotel. However, it is a much longer walk to the beach. But, I much prefer the Reserve over Palma Real if we would ever come back which I do not think we will. We would rather go to one of the Mexican resorts.

We have just concluded our stay here and what a Beautiful Birthday Bash/Anniversary Getaway for cousin and myself and Hubby!! We came as a party of 40 friends and family for my cousins 50th birthday from all over the country and what a beautiful, pleasant, friendly, hospitable destination. I read the reviews on the flight down and was a little scared of what we may have encountered upon arrival, but nothing could have been further from the truth. It made me question where those bad review clients could have stayed because it certainly was not the Paradises Palmer. The facility is absolutely gorgeous!!! I know that there are other hotels on the property and wonder if there was confusion as to their actual facility. This place is/was immaculate and gorgeous!! Check in upon arrival was swift and flawless. Jose at the front desk was amazing and so was Yendi, our bellman. The rooms are beautifully furnished. We were in a junior suite that was gorgeous with a balcony, fully stocked frig and food selections were abundant and delicious. I read the reviews about the food not being good .... definitely not true and we ate at the buffet most days of our 4 day trip. There is an advantage if you speak Spanish because we did encounter a few non English speaking employees, but they were all smiles and a pleasure to easily locate someone speaking English. We were in room 1205 that was a hop skip and jump from pool and beach. Upon sharing that we were also celebrating our anniversary, we were given a bottle of champagne. 3 nights and 4 days were just perfect for enjoying this place and there appeared to be several families on return stays, which was really pleasant to see. Jose hooked us up with plenty of excursions from Blue ? Travel I simply loved Everything about the Paridisus Palmer and hope to visit again soon.

Just spent 5 days at Paradisius Palma Real in Punta Cana, we selected Royal Service, and this is truly the only way to go, I’ve been here twice before and stayed without the Royal Service, and it was also lovely, but this by far was excellent. Our but, ears Luis Sanchez and Carlos Hinotroza were more than we could ask for, they were at our service and took care of all of our needs. Wanda Correa the bar tender was fabulous as well, never needed a drink or had to ask, she was at our service all day. It was truly a fabulous vacation, and can’t wait to come back.

Excellent trip. The service was wonderful. They do a great job of making you feel at home in the hotel, especially JIMMY SOSA. His hospitality and customer service were genuine and made us feel special. The perfect spot in Punta Cana!

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon in early November 2017. Over the last 10 years, I was lucky enough to be able to travel with my family and stay and phenomenal places. I always hoped I would be able travel similarly with my future family. I never thought I would essentially recreate those experiences on the first trip I paid for-my honeymoon with my new wife. Before we get to the important things for me, this place is beautiful! The week we were there was mainly overcast, there was construction causing closings and relocations of a few restaurants, and they were cutting down/hammering/and loading palm leaves right outside our room to fix bad beachside cabanas. These things were completely overshadowed by the overall layout, setting, food, and people. For an all-inclusive, the food was phenomenal. Aqua, Bana, Palazzo, Rare, and most of Fuego, were our favorites. What made the difference here were the people we met. There were a ton of memorable people we met there but I want to highlight a few who really made a difference in our visit. We met Martin the afternoon we arrived. He always had a big smile, jovial laugh, and we quickly learned that he was always ready to take care of us while on the beach. We are pretty sure this guy loved his job, and we really appreciate his enthusiastic personality. Since this was our honeymoon, I sprung for the royal service, which included a personal “Butler” and a phone to be able to call him at any time. We were lucky enough to have Faustino take care of us. While we did not take advantage of everything he could do for us, he truly made our experience memorable. He helped us with plenty of last minute reservations, surprised us with champagne, wine, chocolates, and fruit in our room on numerous occasions, and even helped us try to save an iPhone, that had a sad fall into the ocean, by bringing a wine chiller full of rice to our room before we had even made it back! Thanks to that special phone we were able to call him as soon as it happened!! He was extremely responsive, but more importantly friendly, personable, and genuine. While Faustino was incredible, there was another person who truly shined brighter than anyone else. While on our resort tour shortly after we arrived, Faustino introduced us to the bartender at the Sunset Bar (private bar in royal service) and told us we would love her. Since we were on our honeymoon, we quickly made our way back to that bar without changing out of our travel clothes to have a drink. We reintroduced ourselves to Wanda Correa, while she made us a couple drinks. Before long, she was making us dance, sing, and even made us try Mama Juana. While everyone who worked there seemed happy and friendly, Wanda completely took this to another level. Something about her made us want to spend time with her each day and just talk. We learned a lot about her, and she talked so much about her family and how everything she did was to make their lives better. We could tell her genuine love for her family, but also for her work and the people she saw each day. Everyone we talked to at the bar that week absolutely loved her! Her”Wanda Specials” were so good, I had to learn how to make them so that this new marriage wouldn’t be doomed! I truly can’t put into words how she impacted our honeymoon, but the fact that my wife cried when saying goodbye to her and giving her a hug, shows the kind of person Wanda is and how she added to our experience here. If you want to have an experience that is truly impacted in a positive way by the people who work there, this is truly the place to go.
