We spent a week at Le Sivory and really did not want to leave. The accomendations are solid buildings and designed well.Comfortable .. The property is beautiful in every aspect and so is the beach. We found the food we liked from the 3 restaurants but the Buffet was our favorite. The staff are super friendly and open hearted and accomendating. We cant wait to come back. Definitely a 4.5 star. I think in the Mediterranean restaurant the displays of the dishes were well presented but the actually taste of the food needs some help. They could do with hiring someone from outside to train the cooks differently. And still such a lovely resort..

Incredible, Fabulous, Amazing these words cannot express just how outstanding this Resort really is. We have traveled back to the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana. If you have followed any of my previous reviews you will know we travel to only specific types of resorts. Smaller, adult only, where we can be pampered in our senior years. After some research and discussion about where and when, I stumbled across probably the most enjoyable hotel ever. What caught my eye was the word Boutique. We have never stayed at a Boutique Hotel, what is this. After further reading we found out it only has 55 rooms. Ocean front swim outs, direct access to the beach from your rooms, beautiful lush gardens. This was just what we are looking for. We booked early in July with Sun Wing, and with anticipation waited for our departure. Also during this time is when the hurricanes decimated the islands in the Caribbean. After a couple of emails to Portblue Home office we were reassured all is well the resort did suffer damage but not to worry. We always take the upgrade when flying, it’s really worth the extra few dollars for what you get in return. We even pre purchase our food on the plane coming and going. If you have never done this try it you won’t be disappointed. This resort is the very last stop in the succession of resorts in Punta Cana. Sun Wing offers different modes of transportation. I am not a bus person, and I hate being shoved into a private car. So we booked a helicopter for our transportation. I booked it through AeroInter in Punta Cana. Neither of us had ever been in a helicopter before. What they do is very simple, you have a maximum of three hundred pounds per seat. We also had our two small carry on bags. The rest of our luggage was transported by car to the resort. We were met at the Punta Cana airport by a driver. Transported only two minutes away, grabbed our carry ons and were shown to the helicopter. What a way to go. The pilot gives you head sets so you can hear him as well as the other people in your party. In our case just my wife. We taxied slowly out the run way and given permission to take off. Just fantastic, they gave us a guided tour, pointing out every item of interest and resorts on the way. You could see dolphins, stingray, old sunken ships, coral reef, amazing. What an entrance we made at the hotel by landing right on the beach. I really don’t mean to be pretentious, but we enjoyed it so much we are being taken back to the airport the same way. Now onto the hotel. Before I go into the description I would not entertain any thing posted before December 21. This hotel was sold and has gone through a complete make over. It has been modernized, freshened, and even the staff has changed. They celebrated their grand opening on December 21, what a huge difference. If you want a resort that offers the loud obnoxious drunks, the heavy thumping of reggae music, an annoying entertainment team demanding to go into the pool, then this place is not for you. It is total peace and relaxation. The type of person this attracts is younger middle aged , romantics, people that just want to chill and relax. There are many types of excursions available if you so desire. Due to the limited number of guests it does not give you that hurry up and rush to get a seat at the pool, push through the buffet line. You do get a chance to meet the other people from around the world. Even at the special restaurants it is a very intimate feeling. The main pool is divided into three sections. One end is rounded with a ladder that allows very easy entrance and exit to this section of the pool it’s probably about 5 ft deep, the next section that has built in lounge chairs has very easy access either from the ground level or a few small steps up from either pool. The next section is located in front of the buffet it is triangular shaped and faces the ocean. The third section is a bubbling type of pool with round seating. Very nice and enjoyable. The pool is tiled not a liner. Since the hurricane hit this hotel has just gone through an extensive renovation. The colors used are of a modern look, furnishing are extremely comfortable, and should last for years. The lobby is beautiful, very inviting and very personal. Please look at the pictures. Remember pictures truly do not do justice to this hotel. The food is probably the best we have ever had. It is fine dining and you would think Gordon Ramsey was the head chef. Actually the head chef is Rafael Sanchez. I did meet the Chef and saw him on several occasions doing what Chefs do. There are two restaurants the Omi and the GastroAtelier. The menu printing is a bit small and a little awkward to understand but you will soon get the hang of it. The first night we ate at the Omi. There are two aspects of this restaurant. You place your order, then you are directed to get your cold and hot entrees buffet style. I really enjoyed this. The entrees are tapas style, and hot entrees are cooked for you. Similar to the egg stations at other resorts. The first restaurant is the Omi it is Japanese/Chinese style. What we really enjoyed was the ambiance, very tastefully decorated. You select what menu items you would like, then proceed to a small buffet where you can get your unlimited supply of different styles of sushi and salads etc.This is fine dining so a dress code is in effect. The next restaurant is the GastroAtelier. Again very fine dining, dress code in effect. This restaurant houses the largest selection of wines from around the world in the Caribbean. Sadly no Canadian wines. The best description of this restaurant is it offers a taste of fine dining. Seafood, steaks, lamb, you will not leave hungry. The general buffet La Veranda again offers fine dinning but no dress code in effect. Absolutely delicious. Large variety of hot and cold, made to order. This is open for breakfast and supper. Lunch is provided at the Palapa Beach restaurant buffet style, fabulous food, burgers, fries, pasta, BBq chicken, salads. This is open at lunch time. Also if feel an evening in room is what you desire there is almost 24 hour room service. We ordered a burger and fries one night, took maybe 30 minutes, you think you were back home excellent. The food here in my opinion is top shelf, to improve upon it would be very difficult. Again any reviews prior to December 21 are null and void. This is a brand new Boutique Hotel. The rooms were very large and extremely comfortable. A large sitting area that has a picture window facing the ocean. Also a 40 inch LCD, smart tv that has about 300 stations. We easily found our favorite tv stations and were very happy. Every language is represented on the tv, if this important to you again you will be delighted. There is a large king size bed with a window behind the head board. This window has curtains with a black out curtain as well. The bed faces enormous patio door. You can lay in bed look out over your private pool, and look out into the ocean. If you slide open the patio door and step out our room had a large shaded patio, two wicker chairs, wicker table and two pool lounge chairs. Our pool, some call it a swim out or a plunge pool. This pool is cement lined about four feet deep, and has steps so entry and exit is easily done. The pool was cleaned and maintained each and every day. If walk about 100 ft you are at the ocean. Absolutely breathtaking. When we arrived the beach was being maintained. People have to remember that there was a hurricane and stuff from that does continue to wash ashore. The beach is spectacular a true paradise. Now back to the room. After return from the patio area of your suite there is a large two door clothes closet. You will find everything a traveler needs ironing board, umbrella, cloths bags etc. there is ample room to hang your clothes as well as shelving. Next is a long wide hall way that starts with a rather large vanity with a modern style sink. Also this area I appointed with every hygiene product known to man. Very well done. Continuing down the hall is a huge bath tub large enough for two people. Also across from that is an enormous two person shower. It has two separate spray heads at either end. This is enclosed from the hall by glass walls. At the end of the hall is the lavatory. The room was fresh, no musty smells, well appointed. The only thing was we needed towel hooks some place to hang our wet bathing suites and towels. The room was just refurbished and I am sure it was just missed. No biggie. We stayed in Room Number 53. It was the very farthest from the pool. We requested a room away from the pool area. The beach is heaven it is maintained every day by a group of gardeners. It is very well taken care of. It’s was fun watching people laying on the beach, parasailing, swimming, and using boogie boards. A great thrill was sitting on our enormous beach bed and listening to the ocean. The staff. This is a new crew, there are only three people from the original group. Being in business myself I have a little different outlook on employees. The first thing I noticed was respect. If you respect your work, you take ownership in the business. This respect starts from the top down. By chance I happen to meet the General Manager the second day Ignacio Saenz. I had made a simple request he over heard it, introduced himself and within minutes it happened for my wife and I. You can see the pride this man has for the business, the job, the staff and the hotel guests. Likewise the respect given to him is admirable. He has that very rare quality of connection with the staff. This is all reflected to the quality and care given to their guests. I give shout outs to the following people that made our stay so very much enjoyable. Customer service Laury Perez, Sebastian, management I am sorry I forget his full name but Max the young chap from Germany. The dudes from the pool that knew what you drank, and just when you needed a refill. Manuel, Santos. A very special thank you to Yuby Mejia she is the best wait staff we have ever met. Yuby very quickly learned our eating habits. She served us in the morning at the La Veranda for breakfast, and for lunch at the Palapa Beach. What a true treasure. We have found our forever paradise. Please do not change, what you are doing right now is perfect.

We arrived at Le Sivory after Christmas Day. When we arrived they were open only 5 days after renovation. We booked a Luxury Junior Suite with a Private Pool room. When we arrived our room was ready. When we went to the room we didn't like the location of the room and went back to reception and asked for another room at a better location. The girl at the reception called someone and they couldn't help us until Sebastian came. When we told him our problem he stepped in and found us a room at a better location. If you have any problem with the room or anything you can talk to Sebastian he really takes care the guests well. Because it renovated so recently there were some things they had to fix. For example, the rooms facing the ocean with a private pool has a small garden in front of it and the landscape looked very bad, our tub's stopper was broken, the internet on common areas not really strong, some of the stuff in speciality restaurants didn't speak any English and took our orders wrong. I've let the manager, Ignacio, know about all this and he took notes about all this. Ignacio was also friendly and every time he sees me he was greeting me with my name and asking me if everything was ok. I believe with a little time the Hotel will be much better. This was our second time and fourth resort in Punta Cana and I can definitely say that they have the best food. Everything was delicious. I also thank Felipe at the bar. He was very friendly and kind.

I was blown away the moment I walked in the lobby. Front desk and staff were professional and accommodating. To freshen up from the humid drive to the hotel, they immediately provided warm towels. The rooms were recently renovated and the beds were supremely comfy. Bathrooms were gorgeous and the tub was huge! The food was top notch from breakfast to dessert. Both Asian and Mediterranean restaurants surpassed my expectations, with high end cuisine that knocked me off my feet. Every bite was better than the last. The pool area was clean, quiet and had a beach view you find similar to online photos. When I got home, I immediately went online to see when I can make my next trip back here. 5 stars across the board
