Fantastic relaxing beach experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Zoetry was just what we needed. It was very relaxed and quiet in a beautiful setting. The service was impeccable. The beach was gorgeous and the pool and pool bar were fantastic. The spa was amazing, and you could go use the sauna, steam room, and hot tub anytime without an appointment. The only minor issue we had was with the food, which, at times, was delicious and amazing, and at other times, not so great. It was hit and miss. I highly recommend the Italian restaurant. Breakfast and the 24-hour room service were also great.

5-Star Setting. 2-Star Food.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Zoëtry Punta Cana has beautiful grounds, spacious oceanfront rooms, a great beach, an excellent spa, and exceptional staff. The food, however, was a major disappointment. A few meals were outstanding. Some were decent. Many were subpar. A few were simply inedible. What leaves me puzzled is the number of reviews praising the food. Perhaps we visited during an off period when the regular chefs were away for the summer, because our experience bore little resemblance to the gourmet dining experience described in the marketing or by many reviewers. When a resort charges luxury prices and promotes gourmet dining as a key selling point, “hit or miss” is not good enough. The staff deserve five stars. The setting deserves five stars. The food does not.

Luxury setting, wonderful people but food does not match the price or marketing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is a beautiful property with wonderful staff, but the experience falls far short of the luxury gourmet resort it advertises. The grounds are stunning, the oceanfront rooms are spacious and beautiful, the spa is excellent, and the service from virtually every employee we encountered was exceptional. The staff genuinely care about guests and deserve recognition, particularly JJ, Gilbert, Lisbeth, Yorka, Leidy, Jorgelys, Wilca and many others. Unfortunately, the food was consistently disappointing. Zoëtry markets itself as a luxury resort with gourmet dining and five à la carte restaurants, but the reality was very different. Breakfast and lunch were both limited and well below what one would expect from a luxury property. While the fruit was fresh and enjoyable, food variety and preparation was lacking. The orange juice appeared to be a powdered beverage. At dinner, service was excellent, but food quality and execution varied significantly from one meal to the next. Only two restaurants were open each evening on a rotating schedule, which further limited variety. Too many dishes arrived overcooked, reheated, poorly prepared, or simply lacking the refinement expected at this price point. Several meals were average, and one or two were barely touched. To the resort’s credit, the concierge and chef did make efforts to address our concerns. After speaking directly with the chef, we had one excellent dinner and were encouraged to return to the same restaurant. However, when we returned two nights later and ordered the same dish, the experience was completely different. The preparation and cut of meat were inconsistent and fell well short of what we had experienced previously. That inconsistency was a recurring theme throughout our stay. Another disappointment was the Unlimited Vacation Club presentation. The verbal presentation differed from the contractual terms, which led us to decline the membership immediately. The sales approach was also more aggressive than expected and detracted from the experience. My advice to future guests: the resort has beautiful grounds, great beach, spacious oceanfront rooms, an excellent spa, and outstanding staff. Those aspects are genuinely strong. However, it is important to be aware that the dining experience does not match the luxury positioning presented in the marketing. It is frustrating because the resort has many of the ingredients of a true luxury property. But when a resort charges luxury prices and promotes itself around gourmet dining, the food cannot be an afterthought. The staff and setting deserve praise, but the dining experience falls short of the standard implied.

This place is paradise. I have traveled to beaches the world over and this place is it! The cuisine is artful (I had never had breakfasts like these - they are terrific). The sand is fine-grained. The buildings are thatched-roof with native materials. The staff harvests coconuts from the trees daily. The ocean is emerald green near shore, crystal blue at a distance, and royal blue on the horizon. The rooms are oversized, with exquisite fixtures and slate facilities. The sitting porch provides an uncluttered view of the ocean. They speak English here, and the serving staff is relentless. As you relax in a wooden lounge on the beach, fresh bottled water appears. Later, when you awake, a frozen drink is sitting next to you. This place is not crowded and is intended to provide the isolation you deserve!

Zoetry is Pure Poetry.

Everything you HOPE for in an all-inclusive is presented exquisitely. Not a single buffet in sight. All meals are freshly prepared, even our special order paella. The seafood was so fresh I could have sworn I saw a staff member emerge from the ocean with my catch. From the moment you arrive, you know you are entering a private and exclusive resort - so much so, there's no name on the gate. An open entryway, extremely hospitable staff and very inviting accommodations. They have clearly thought of every possible detail - even on rainy days. Just don't fool yourself into thinking a quick trip will suffice.
