A piece of paradise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We have visited Zoetry Aqua Punta Cana more than five times. Each time our stay is absolutely fantastic! The intimacy of this small resort keeps us coming back. If you are looking to be pampered, relax, enjoy amazing food and drinks with low keyed evening entertainment, this is your place. We stay in the ocean front suite with private pool. The room are perfect, nicely appointed with beverages restocked daily. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping the room clean! For this recent trip we brought our 84 yr old parents and let me tell you they can not stop talking about this resort! They were amazed by the location and the beauty of this place and of course the amazing staff! One of the main reasons we keep returning to ZAPC is because of the staff and the relationships we have developed together. From the moment we arrive we are welcomed like family! Our butler Luis is the best! He knows exactly what we like we love sharing stories about our families together. He never disappoints us and goes above and beyond every time! Wilca is one of the hardest working ladies at the resort and she does this every day with a beautiful smile on her face even in the heat on the beach she is on top of it providing us with excellent service and helped celebrate my husband birthday with a special cake and decorations. We love her! Lisbeth is one of the best! She takes such great care of us at dinner. She truly loves what she does and it shows in her work. Anything that we asked for she was able to provide for us. She is beautiful inside and out! Leidy is the hostess at Indigo restaurant who greets us every morning with a warm welcome a big hug and gets us started for our day with coffee and mimosas! She is so sweet and always smiles. She welcomed our parents each morning like they were her own! We were at ZAPC over the 250th Anniversary celebration for USA and the staff put on an amazing BBQ on the beach with decorations and live music. Gilbert the activities coordinator invited my husband to have the honor of raising the American flag during the National anthem we were truly honored by this! Gilbert is always doing his best getting everyone involved in the festivities and he is very funny! The wine tasting we all took part in was lead by Frank Alexis this man was top notch! He not only told us about the wine but also gave us an amazing history lesson on the Dominican people! We wondered when he slept because we saw him everywhere at all hours of the day just working as hard as he can and what an amazing personality! Every staff members there is truly exceptional. Yarisbel from Olena with her sweet smile is always so nice and Yeilin from Amaya welcomes us with open arms! There is a lot of chatter about the seaweed but it is unavoidable anywhere right now. The resort does an excellent job at picking up the seaweed and removing it from the beach, but it’s a never-ending battle. We didn’t let that run our trip we stop enjoyed the beach and spent lots of time at the pool! It really is a tropical paradise. Till we return again next year!! Love this place!

The most perfect chilled out holiday ever.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed here in mid June and wow this place is paradise. Check in was easy offered a welcome drink and had to choose a fragrance for our room, we meet JJ our concierge for our visit who took us to our suite. The suites are huge and very comfortable and spotless. The food was amazing very fresh and healthy lots of choice on the menus, i see a lot of people coment the menu's are limited but we never found that to be the case at all. The staff here are all fantastic everyone from maintenance staff, gardener's, cleaner's are just so friendly and happy everyone is a credit to the hotel, I miss breakfast with the lovely hostess Lady teaching us spanish every morning, Alejandra and Wilca at the pool bar/beach are just the best. The beach did have a lot of seaweed a tractor did come along all the time to grind it up, the seaweed didn't put us off going in the sea at all, the beach is very clean and the vendors that come up and down were very friendly and didn't hassle you at all. We were here to chill out and it was the perfect place to do this, while here we took advantage of the horse riding on the beach and had a massage which was heavenly. We also went to moneyland which was totally worth the visit. I'd just like to thank all the staff for making this holiday so amazing we had the best time and will definitely be back in 2028, i keep looking for the dates to come out on Tui so i can book it.

Don't go seriously

I have been a loyal Hyatt member for many years and have stayed at numerous Hyatt properties worldwide, including Alila and several other premium Hyatt brands. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We paid in excess of AUD $9,000 for this holiday and left feeling extremely disappointed. In fact, we chose to depart a day early simply because we no longer wished to remain at the resort. The issues we experienced included the following: * Our original room was swarming with bees, requiring us to be relocated. * The lights in our replacement room did not work correctly. * Requests made through the concierge to repair lighting and other maintenance issues were never addressed. * The Italian restaurant was of an extremely poor standard. * Every evening at approximately 6:00 pm the resort sprayed insecticides throughout the grounds. The chemicals drifted into guest rooms and made it unpleasant, if not impossible, to sit outside for around an hour each day. We experienced headaches on multiple occasions and were deeply concerned about the health implications. It was also distressing to watch birds being displaced and forced into the food and beverage outlets searching for food after the spraying. * When I raised concerns regarding the spraying, staff requested our room number. Later that evening my wife was stopped before entering a restaurant by the staff member involved in that discussion, making her feel singled out and extremely uncomfortable and stopping her from entering the restaurant. * Ordering room service became unnecessarily difficult because nobody informed us that the Hyatt app could not be used and that a completely different application was required. Guests should not be expected to discover this themselves. Also the room service menus NEVER changed during our 8 day stay * Our television stopped working on the second day without explanation. * The only place we were able to watch an important World Cup football match was on their laptop in the coffee shop, despite the resort promoting extensive guest facilities. * The tours desk provided misleading advice regarding the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Reserve. We later discovered we could simply have taken a taxi and paid a small entrance fee ourselves. It appeared we were being directed towards their preferred tour operator rather than being provided impartial advice. * The advertised USD $200 resort vouchers were effectively of little value due to the extensive restrictions attached to them. It would have been far more transparent and guest-friendly to simply apply these as a credit to the room account, as many other Hyatt properties do. * As a Hyatt Globalist member, we were never acknowledged during our stay. None of the expected Globalist benefits were recognised or provided, including the daily USD $15 credits. Staff simply advised that these benefits “did not apply at this hotel,” resulting in us also missing approximately USD $105 in benefits that should have been available. * When I requested to shorten our stay by one night, staff advised they could not assist because Hyatt was “only the agency” and not the hotel owner. Given Hyatt branding is present throughout the property, this explanation was both confusing and unacceptable. I was told to amend the booking through the Hyatt app, which was impossible because the app would only allow cancellation. Instead of resolving the matter, three staff members approached me simultaneously in what felt like an intimidating manner. I was then told I needed to complete paperwork and attend a meeting explaining why I wished to leave early. I declined. * Throughout our stay, many front-of-house staff spent considerable time talking amongst themselves in Spanish while guests were waiting for assistance. On one occasion, while I was ordering a coffee, a manager interrupted the staff member taking my order to continue a conversation in Spanish, forcing me to ask if I could finish placing my order first. This was disappointing and unprofessional. * On another occasion, two members of staff entered our room without knocking or giving any prior notice while I had just stepped out of the shower and my wife was partially undressed. This represented a serious breach of privacy. There were, however, some positives. Johanna and Natalie in the international restaurant consistently provided friendly and professional service and deserve recognition. Charlie at the pool also worked exceptionally hard to make guests feel welcome despite the broader issues at the resort. Unfortunately, these individual efforts could not overcome the wider shortcomings of this resort. The beach itself was poorly maintained, with significant seaweed left uncleared throughout our stay. Room service options were also extremely limited for a resort of this calibre. Most importantly, we simply never felt welcome.

Zen is the name of the game here

Wow! This was such a stunning zen resort. Gorgeous, spacious room. The staff are incredible, shout outs to Gilbert and Tania, who work non stop yet remain calm and efficient at all times. This is not an 'in your face' resort. Most of the time we barely saw any other guests, do not be expect to be entertained constantly although there are activities on offer if you want them. No loud voices, spotlessly clean, beautiful views and surroundings to walk around. Try the yoga! the spa and definitely the freshly made pizzas poolside!

Most Relaxing place in Punta Cana

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This place is unique in Punta Cana. It is small-scale, and the staff is very attentive. The food is very good, and there is never a wait at any restaurant. The staff could not be better, and all of the accommodations are top-notch. This is our 3rd time staying at Zoetry Agua. It is a tranquil place, where you truly can relax. All of the buildings have professionally thatched roofs - which add to the experience but also absorb noise (no echoes in the lobby from granite or marble surfaces). The resort is never crowded (even when at full capacity), and many times you feel like you are the only guest. I have stayed and many places in Punta Cana, and recognize this place as a cut-above.

This place is paradise. I have traveled to beaches the world over and this place is it! The cuisine is artful (I had never had breakfasts like these - they are terrific). The sand is fine-grained. The buildings are thatched-roof with native materials. The staff harvests coconuts from the trees daily. The ocean is emerald green near shore, crystal blue at a distance, and royal blue on the horizon. The rooms are oversized, with exquisite fixtures and slate facilities. The sitting porch provides an uncluttered view of the ocean. They speak English here, and the serving staff is relentless. As you relax in a wooden lounge on the beach, fresh bottled water appears. Later, when you awake, a frozen drink is sitting next to you. This place is not crowded and is intended to provide the isolation you deserve!

Zoetry is Pure Poetry.

Everything you HOPE for in an all-inclusive is presented exquisitely. Not a single buffet in sight. All meals are freshly prepared, even our special order paella. The seafood was so fresh I could have sworn I saw a staff member emerge from the ocean with my catch. From the moment you arrive, you know you are entering a private and exclusive resort - so much so, there's no name on the gate. An open entryway, extremely hospitable staff and very inviting accommodations. They have clearly thought of every possible detail - even on rainy days. Just don't fool yourself into thinking a quick trip will suffice.
