Pros: + The rooms were great and spacious, and felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. We really enjoyed being able to keep our balcony door open and enjoy the weather on the bed, or have dinner outside. + Every staff member was friendly and attentive. We are not too sure what the point of the butler was, but whenever we bumped into him (Ramon) he always asked us how our stay was going, and if we needed help finding anything. He also sent a cake to our room to celebrate our honeymoon. The hostess (Wanda) at the breakfast and lunch restaurants always remembered our name and room number. They were all so nice, and it really made the experience relaxing. + We enjoyed a lot of the amenities and activities. The yoga classes in the morning are a nice way to start out, as well as the cafe with their bite-size pastries and coffee. The room service was convenient when we did not want to head out to one of the 3 restaurants. + The grounds were immaculate. Every morning we would watch the staff clean the pool of every single scrap or leaf, rake the grass, and remove seaweed from the beach. The weather during our visit was less than ideal with high winds and large waves. The resort's beach is surrounded by rocks/coral, which acted as a natural breakwater. We were able to sit in the ocean even though 100 feet out the waves were ridiculous. Also, this has been one of the only resorts we have been to where we were not attacked by mosquito + Great drinks with daily specials. + Free moderately fast wi-fi Cons: - Due to their lenient policy of no check in and out time, we waited roughly 3-4 hours before we were able to unpack and change out of our winter clothes to relax. The staff was apologetic, but were not able to provide an estimated time to completion. - Like most reviewers have stated, the food was not great. The first night we had a steamed grouper and salmon, both were so dry they were rubbery. The other restaurants' food was decent, nothing to write home about. We ordered late night pizza once, and it was 900% disgusting. Other room services items were fine, so just avoid the pizza like the plague. - Several activities were just sales opportunities. For example, the cigar rolling "class" was just a better haggling opportunity than the store on the resort. It wasn't terrible, but it would have been nice to not have someone try to sell us something all the time. - They only had two red wines included in the "all inclusive." I like a Malbec, and I could have BYOBed. Overall: We had an amazing experience at Zoetry. The staff was attentive and friendly, the room was great, and the resort was everything we were looking for. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing time just hanging out and enjoying the weather.

Happy employees cannot be faked. All the staff at Zoetry Agua were happy to greet you, welcome you at the beach, the pool, the restaurants, the walkways and at your room. They went out of their way to please, with smiles on their faces. We are still aglow thinking of the wonderful people we met who made our vacation a five-star one. Special thanks go to our butler, Juan, who went above and beyond the call of duty to see that we had all that we needed. Diogenes, the head waiter at the Indigo and Olena Restaurants made our dining a delightful experience every day. Jennifer, the social director, went out of her way to include everyone in the daily activities and make sure everyone was comfortable. All the wait staff were outstanding. It is impossible to name them all, but we remember Felipe, Daniel, Hansel, Yennifer and the many other lovely young ladies who served us, all with a smile and a friendly greeting. The grounds were meticulously maintained, the pools were beautiful. The food at the 4 restaurants were of gourmet level. The entertainment at night was classic, from violinists, pianists and guitarists to singers and Dominican trios. The resort was elegant, in simple terms. If you want a loud, raucous experience, this hotel is not for you. It is small and classic. The perfect place to relax and escape from city stress. It was not perfect. The pools were somewhat hard to enter and exit. The beach was lovely, however, very windy and the ocean current was very strong. We advise bringing a flashlight to walk around the premises at night, as it was dark and lighting was minimal. But, all in all, we had a five-star vacation because of the ambiance and the beautiful people who served us. We will remember the great time we had for a long time. And we miss all the wonderful friends we made. By the time we left, we felt like the staff were all our family. What more can we say? Jean and Dan

This was a 5 star experience. My wife and I spent 5 nights at Zoetry in January. I have read reviews lamenting the lack of restaurants and food choices, as well as the lack of entertainment options. My response: choose a large resort! We thoroughly enjoyed a garden view romantic suite. Ask for the 2nd floor so your room has a high vaulted ceiling. The room was peaceful, large, well appointed (though the AC never cooled it completely to below 75 degrees). The bathroom area was terrific, including the round tub , an excellent shower, double sinks and a separate toilet room. Room service was excellent. We appreciated having our "butler" available on WhatsApp. Thank you for the bottle of JW Black in the room! The pools are good size relative to the number of guests. They never were crowded. Seating at the pools and the beach was more than adequate. There are 3 dinner restaurants. They are beautifully decorated, with uncrowded seating. Though you cannot make reservations, we found only one delay in seating, at the European (mainly Italian) restaurant. Food was very good to excellent. Lunch at Indigo was delightful, as was breakfast at Amaya and Piragua. Such friendly service everywhere! The grounds are very pretty, with a large variety of well tended vegetation. A few negatives: the beach is OK but not great. The quality of the sand and the clarity of the water does not compare to the British Virgin Islands, where we usually vacation. The water was on the rough side for swimming. In addition, the areas on either side of the property are untended and messy. My wife went on the horse riding trip. There was no instruction about riding at the beginning (OK for her, since she knew what she was doing), no helmets were offered, and the trip made a stop (not previously disclosed) at a shopping venue on the beach. Not appreciated. In sum, this is a peaceful, beautiful, relaxing and elegant place for a beach vacation. You will feel very pampered. If you want "action," go somewhere else.

My husband and I like smaller resorts and Zoetry was perfect for us. From being greeted at the curb with a cool towel to our final farewell, the staff could not have been friendlier. Everyone said hello and offered to help. The room service 24 hours and mini bar in the room let us kick back and relax. Examples of the above and beyond: I cam home from a snorkeling excursion and plopped in a chair.-the woman was there straightening the room- she look at me, walked over and got the complimentary slippers and put them down in front of me. After relaxing in the span hot tubs, the attendant did a short facial & foot message. The best was our butler Enrique! I told him my husband wasn't feeling well one night, next think I knew there was a bowl of chicken soup delivered. He checked in with us several times every day to be sure we had everything we wanted. After deep sea fishing, they even cooked up a Mahi-Mahi we caught for our dinner. There were 2 things that could be improved on: the pools are not easy to get in or out of and the seafood restaurant was not up to standards, but no place is perfect. I will go back to Zoetry and recommend you go to!
