Reviews for Zoetry Agua Punta Cana

OK but not great!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I usually don’t leave reviews, but after 12 different all-inclusives I feel like somewhat of an expert and cannot help myself. We are not terribly picky travelers and I hate leaving reviews because most people who leave reviews seem like nitpickers who have a hard time finding joy. We do not get worked up about the small stuff. In fact, we have a rule that we cannot complain or be negative about anything until we return home. The resort is pretty, and the people are extremely friendly however, there is a significant issue with detail. There are detail issues all over the common areas and in the rooms. There are management detail issues all over. We had a very very hard time getting drinks at the pool. In fact, the only time we got a drink was when we approached someone and asked for it. The people are off the charts friendly and will bend over backwards to get you what you want, but it was evident that there was a lack of training and implementation. If you have already booked this resort, you are going to have a great time and certainly if you don’t have anything to compare it to it is probably going to blow you away. Unfortunately, we have lots to compare. Lastly, they do everything they can to control it however, the mosquitoes are bad. We took a citronella candle and some spray and were fine but if you are not prepared, it could get ugly. Along those lines, the beach is a disaster. I don’t know if it was the time of year or what and I certainly do not fault the resort, however seaweed is everywhere and the beach is not very pleasing to look at. The people are very hospitable, our room was great, and the temperature was perfect, the drinks were really good and the food was not terrible. The spa was also great. What you are really looking for is an Excellence resort. Excellence Playa Mujeres is the gold standard.

Overall, this was a great resort to stay at. The staff are extremely attentive and seem to genuinely care about your experience. The only reason I won't give it a 5 star rating is that we did have a slight incident that was rectified immediately and the GM Diana was extremely helpful in making sure the rest of our stay was comfortable and extremely enjoyable. The day-to-day feel at the resort is extremely relaxing compared to other resorts so if you want a big party place (we did not) this is not for you. If you want to relax by the pool, take a walk down the beach, this place is amazing. I really love that there are no disposable drinkware at this resort. We've been to a few all inclusives and the waste we've seen has been astounding so to see acrylic glassware at the pool and real glass at the restaurants and lobby bar is quite refreshing and adds an aura of class to the place. The rooms are clean and we didn't have any issues with the amenities. The grounds are beautifully kept and you can tell a lot of effort is put in to ensure this. Just be careful after a rain, some of the concrete pathways can get a little slick if you're not paying attention. The food is great, I don't think there was a restaurant that we wouldn't go back to. For breakfast, go to Indigo. Fernando is great with coffee, tea, and mimosas. For lunch, really anywhere on the property. We were fans of the specials on the beach or the regular lunch menu at Indigo. For dinner, the Italian night, steakhouse and Mediterranean nights were handsdown our favourites. For the staff, if you are lucky enough to have JJ as your concierge, you will have an amazing stay! He was extremely helpful and was always quick to respond to requests no matter what they were. When you're at the pool bar, Wilca is absolutely fantastic and makes some of the best cocktails around. Iban at the lobby bar really sets the atmosphere and can make any quiet and boring night exciting and enjoyable (ps. slip him a nice tip and your glass will never be empty ;) ). Here's the negatives, while there are only a couple, they certainly do exist. 1) The Unlimited Vacation Club presentation: this was supposed to be 90 minutes realistically took almost 3 hours. The pressure was extremely high and once we told Hunter, the American sales guy that popped in we weren't going to buy today, he just got up and left, not a "thank you" or "enjoy your vacation", nothing. Sorry I wasn't interested in committing to over $49,000 USD during a high pressure sales presentation. I will say Rigoberto was great to chat with. In all honesty, the spa credits they give you for sitting through this presentation were not worth the 3 hour high pressure sales pitch. 2) Vendors on the resort: again, very high pressure to buy their goods and when you decline, they tell you how they need to feed their families, etc... sorry, I'm on vacation and will not be guilted into buying. I found it interesting how one guy went from $254USD for a necklace and set of earings to $50USD in a matter of 3 minutes... Just shows how much they are ripping you off! Like I said though, overall, the experience was great and we will be going back likely in September of 2024. Just avoid the high pressure sales stuff and you will have an absolutely amazing trip!

Rest, relaxation, peace

We had an unbelievably great time. I have never seen so many genuine smiles on peoples faces. We came to Zoetry for our honeymoon and what we got was a lot more than we expected. Our concierge, Wiris Guzman, checked in with us twice a day to ensure our needs and wants were met. Rosie, our server on the beach was very attentive and delightful. Oliver, our bell boy, was prompt and very helpful. We will definitely be returning to this resort.

This place is paradise. I have traveled to beaches the world over and this place is it! The cuisine is artful (I had never had breakfasts like these - they are terrific). The sand is fine-grained. The buildings are thatched-roof with native materials. The staff harvests coconuts from the trees daily. The ocean is emerald green near shore, crystal blue at a distance, and royal blue on the horizon. The rooms are oversized, with exquisite fixtures and slate facilities. The sitting porch provides an uncluttered view of the ocean. They speak English here, and the serving staff is relentless. As you relax in a wooden lounge on the beach, fresh bottled water appears. Later, when you awake, a frozen drink is sitting next to you. This place is not crowded and is intended to provide the isolation you deserve!

Zoetry is Pure Poetry.

Everything you HOPE for in an all-inclusive is presented exquisitely. Not a single buffet in sight. All meals are freshly prepared, even our special order paella. The seafood was so fresh I could have sworn I saw a staff member emerge from the ocean with my catch. From the moment you arrive, you know you are entering a private and exclusive resort - so much so, there's no name on the gate. An open entryway, extremely hospitable staff and very inviting accommodations. They have clearly thought of every possible detail - even on rainy days. Just don't fool yourself into thinking a quick trip will suffice.
