Great Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

The resort and beach is beautiful! The room was great and we were really impressed with the cleaning service each day. The food wasn't as impressive unfortunately, Butch's steakhouse was a little underwhelming. We really enjoyed the scuba diving, so much that Travis was able to convince us and our group to get advanced certification. He was fantastic instructor with a great knowledge of scuba diving! If you are looking to scuba dive at the Underwater Sculpture Park, do it as soon as possible!! We booked it for the end of our stay and I was devastated that the current was too strong so that we were not able to go.

Love Sandals, Always rebook a new destination while on site

Everything was great. The resort was beautiful and you cannot beat the 5 minute ride from airport. Staff was all friendly and courteous. Entertainment was great and made for fun nights. All the food was delicious. Jeep tour to St Margret's falls was excellent. "Beetle" was a superb guide and was one of the highlights on our trip. Food is amazing! Only thing that could be improved is we moved rooms from an ocean view club room to a ocean walkout. It was inconvenient to have to be without our belongings from 10 am to 3 pm. The ocean walk out was not as nice. The AC dripped and balcony door didn't work as smoothly as it should. The stairs to beach were a little run down too. I wish we had stayed in our initial room as we thought the experience from the walk out would be better and didn't think so. Club ocean view is the way to go! Beautiful!

Not the best Sandels compared to other Sandels we visited

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

The ladies who cleaned our room were amazing, they definitely need a raise. Thank you for the towels and cleaning the sand off the floors. You guys really work hard. I seen a lot of workers who looked exhausted throughout the week I was there. It just seemed like some people were a little down at this resort and not so friendly, maybe it was just me, just giving you my observations. The first couple days we arrived I had to wake up early to save a spot on the beach, which was very annoying. After the third day I didn't have to do that. What I loved the most was the Aqua water sports crew, especially Stevon. He was the best , he showed us how to paddle board, took us out on the water, just a hardworking individual who is passionate about his job. If you need any advice about water activities or just knowledge about the island, he knows a lot. When we first arrived we decided to try Neptune's, the dinner wasn't good, they definitely need to fix that, the jerk chicken with fries at lunch was much better. Cucina Romana restaurant was amazing but it took two hours to eat one night and we never went back again, that was ridiculous. Kimonos was really good. Our waiter was Nolean, she was so helpful and nice. She made sure we had drinks and was always checking on us, we will miss her so much. Only thing I didnt like at kimonos was the banging with the cooking utensils when they sang thier song, idk why, but that noise was irritating lol. Spices breakfast was good on somedays, the lunch was always amazing. First couple of days we had to wait a little to get our omelets made, but after that it went smooth. The ladies and gentlemen who worked at that station worked very hard and were doing thier best, ty so much. The bakery on the resort was the best I had out of antigua, and curcuao, hands down. Thank you to all the beautiful ladies. who made those delicious treats. The sushi place was amazing and so was the staff. Our excursion with bareback jeep rentals was really cool, Nikel and the other guys kept us entertained lol . From the Waterfalls, driving on the streets of Grenada, and seeing the monkeys was awesome, what an experience. I loved the chocolate factory and learning about the cocoa, it was really cool. I tried the chocolate coffee ice cream they had, it was the best I ever tried. I actually took a cab a few days later to get some but they were out of it. The chocolate was amazing as well. We also visited Grand Ansu Beach on thier labor day. We took a cab from the resort There was a man named Issac selling homemade drinks for 5 dollars, so good. That beach was beautiful, we just needed to buy two chairs for $20 and we got a spot right under a tree. The restaurant on there was called umbrellas, it wasn't good. I thought there would be better choices but just a lot of amercian food. We were looking for the more traditional food the isand made. I realized it's more for tourist people. I would also recommend you learn the conversion rate for whatever you purchase so you know how much everything is. I gave them a $230 tip by mistake loll I made somebody happy that day. Entertainment at this resort wasn't that good at all. The saxophone guy was really cool, but other than that, nothing really good. Would have loved to see more resort activities as well. Also, somebody reached out to us about our next vacation to book at sandels because we found out you save more money that way. I was surprised they didn't follow up with us to get thier commission. We ended up booking with another guy, who also gave us a bottle from the club level dinner we missed. I realized it wasn't from grenada though. Club sandals in curcuao gave us a bottle that was from thier island, why give us a bottle that's from Jamaica. Idk, I don't drink a lot. I just like to collect different bottles from different places I visit. Also, what killed me the most at the resort was the Dasani water . I was expecting some local water, at least for the amount I paid for this trip. Sandels needs to do better, just my opinion. We also had to wait a long time to leave our resort, and the line at the airport was ridiculous. They need a better system.

Great Vacation but not the Experience expected from Sandals.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We were first time Sandals visitors but have experienced many all inclusive resorts across the Caribbean where fellow guests have compared the hotel to Sandals as the gold standard. So we came to Grenada to experience Sandals for ourselves. The Excellent Great friendly staff from reception through to the ground staff. When any questions were raised staff went out of their way to help. We found the food to be excellent and would recommend Spices, Cucina Romana and Neptunes. The service in these 3 restaurants was consistently first rate with a good menu selection. The drinks service on the beach was brilliant with a very friendly young waitress who remembered our drinks choices from day to day. Only sorry that I didn't catch her name. Great PADI Dive Centre on site for qualified divers. The dive crew were very professional with a well equipped boat including 02 and first aid kits. Water, fruit, snacks and marine "heads" for between dive use were particularly welcome. Some great diving was available within 10 minutes of the dive center although there were a few sites revisited over the week that I was there. The grounds were beautifully maintained by hard working staff and the encounters with iguanas were quite something! The Good Spacious room with plenty of storage. But we have been allocated larger rooms in other non-Sandals resorts on other islands. The room itself was nicely appointed but furnishing was a little dark and tired looking. Lighting could be improved as there was only one mirror providing enough visibility for make up, hair drying etc. The room was very well sound proofed and we were unaware of neighbors in adjoining rooms. The Air Conditioning was adjustable and we were able to get the right balance for a peaceful night's rest. The Disappointing Despite excellent food, we were disappointed that having to waiting 4 days for our booking at Butch's, the service was slow compared with the other restaurants on site and despite ordering identical entrees, my steak was medium rare as ordered but my partners steak was undercooked. The Unacceptable. We found that Sandals is a 2 Tier resort where guests with a butler are able to access services to the detriment of the experience of others. Unlike similar premium services we have seen elsewhere these guests are not allocated a dedicated pool, beach or lounger area but displace other guests access to these services. Access to sun loungers was very poor. Reception staff told us that management were aware and working on a solution. But we then discovered that these were being reserved by Sandals staff at 6:00 each morning and on challenging this were told that loungers were being reserved on behalf of the butlers. Similarly we waited 4 days to access Butch's restaurant as it was "fully booked" only to see newly arrived guests being escorted to tables by their butler when none were available for booking for others.

Mostly Fantastic

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was our 2nd time here (out of 29 Sandals trips). Most everything was wonderful. Our "Dream Team" butlers, Dawniesha, Davey and Vernessa were very attentive to our every need. We did a Re-Tie the Knot and Deanette was fantastic. Our photographer, Deron took some incredible photos. Our only complaint was the lousy coffee pods and coffee maker in the room. It never made a decent pot of coffee because the pods were cheap and little. At 6am there is no other place to get a cup. We were VERY disappointed with the General Manager of the resort. He wasn't ever to be seen around the resort (unlike most other GM's that we have met). At both the returning guest dinner and the VIP Luncheon he couldn't be bothered to at least say hello to our table.

Hi - our trip was amazing to La Source in Grenada. We had been to this resort previously. In fact it was such a relaxing and romantic getaway that our first baby is due in 3 weeks (9 months after the fabulous vacation!)
