Not much. A 5 star from us on our second stay. All the five star reviews are pretty much true. But what about the 1,2,3,4 star reviews? Were there some common threads among them? To save you the trouble, I trolled them to see. Here they are in no particular order with some random comments No bar service on the beach. (True. But the beach is quite long. Besides you'll avoid a blood clot.) The water in the pool was cold. (Not in April it isn't. You want warm, go to Boca Raton, Fl.) Ocean rough / too many red flag days posted. (Depends what you're used to. "Rough days" are normal days in North Carolina. It's fine, just not dead calm all the time.) The menus got tiresome. (Not really. Then don't stay for 3 weeks.) The beach loungers are uncomfortable. (They're all pretty new. I though they were very good. The resin ones are gone.) The dinner wine isn't any good. (If you're used to knocking back Premier Cru Volnays and Screaming Eagle Cabernets, then you'll be disappointed. The sparkling white and the Malbec are perfectly acceptable. There's a wine list of better wines for purchase.) The internet is slow. (True. But not that slow. I streamed Netflix in the beachfront suite on several nights without a problem.) The beach suite room decor is tired. (It's not Architectural Digest stuff, and I'm told they're slated for update. Frankly, I didn't notice since most of the day and night is spent outside.) Restaurant service is slow. (Absolutely not.) Not much to do. (If you don't read, you could be in trouble. That said, there are enough water sports on the beach and activities arranged outside the resort to keep one plenty busy.) Some of the staff aren't friendly. (O.K., "them's fight'n words". WRONG. The staff is wonderful. I would go so far as to say that it's the staff that make the place so special, and a huge factor why the returning guest rate is so high. ) Anecdote. We were talking to Michael, one of the managers. I told him that I remembered the curried goat I had in the Islands 2 years earlier when we were here sailing and how good it was. I asked him if the chef ever makes it in any of the restaurants. He excused himself and returned a few minutes later. He said I would be having it for dinner on Friday, and if I liked, could have it as a Roti Saturday for lunch, The curried goat was amazing. Thanks, Michael. And thank you, Galley Bay.

My wife and I stayed in a beach front room, open the curtains in the morning and there is the beach and stunning looking sea! from 29th March 2017 for 9 nights. The place is a wonderful, secluded, luxurious location. Food at all three main restaurants varied and always really good. Hotel team and service excellent (and genuine). Atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly. Happy to respond to others looking to stay at this resort if there are specific queries, overall a top holiday and location.

This is the perfect Resort for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing vacation. There is however still plenty to do if you want to get out and about. The apartment rooms were spacious and comfortable with balcony views of the beach and sea. While the entrance on the otherside overlooked well tended gardens. Restaurants were superb, with a good selection and choice on the menus everyday. Staff were excellent and there was always someone available to help if required. Somedays the sea could be quite rough, however if there was enough interest the hotel would arrange to take you to a sheltered beach for swimming along with a member of staff and a cool box packed with refreshments! I see why many people have returned so many times over the years. If you bring cash then bring US Dollars as everything is priced in US Dollars. Thank you Galley Bay for a 40th Wedding Anniversary to remember.

If you want a pretentious, stuffy or ultra-glam resort with poolside waiters and room service, this is not for you. However, if your idea of heaven is relaxing in a naturally stunning, peaceful location with friendly local staff and fresh food, you won't find anywhere better. There's plenty to do if you want to, but there's definitely something to be said for chilling by the gently crashing waves of the Caribbean with a delicious (all inclusive) cocktail. There's a good reason why nearly half of Galley Bay's guests are returners. We've just booked our second trip and can't wait.

From accommodations to staff to food, this resort offers the best travel experience in the Caribbean. The staff is warm, friendly and eager to please. The food is a culinary delight with exquisite dishes that are the equal of the finest restaurants anywhere.
