Reviews for Hermitage Bay

Best luxury all inclusive in the Caribbean

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

An Unforgettable Stay at Hermitage Bay 🌴✨ Our long weekend at Hermitage Bay was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the kind of beauty, tranquility, and genuine hospitality that makes a luxury resort experience memorable. The facility and accommodations are simply beautiful. The property is intimate, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained, with breathtaking views and a natural Caribbean elegance. Our accommodations were comfortable, beautifully appointed, and provided the perfect setting to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of Antigua. But what truly sets Hermitage Bay apart is the people. The staff were warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We were fortunate to interact with so many wonderful members of the team, and each person contributed to making our stay special: Alicia, Rachel, Michael, Ryan, Martinez, Rihanna, Simone, Anthony, Sandy, Sambieke, Abbasola, Vernon, Sherryann, Zoe, and Lisa. One of the things that impressed me most was how personalized the service was. I made a couple of special food requests — including local Duncana and carrot cake — and the entire team went above and beyond to make sure they happened. They didn’t simply acknowledge the requests; they followed through and made sure we were able to enjoy exactly what we were hoping for. That level of attention to detail truly made us feel cared for. And the food! Every meal was beautifully presented, flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Dining while surrounded by the incredible Caribbean scenery made each meal feel like an experience rather than simply dinner. The ambience is what I will remember most — peaceful, sophisticated, and authentically Caribbean without feeling pretentious. It is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and simply enjoy being present. Hermitage Bay exceeded our expectations. The beautiful property, stunning location, exceptional accommodations, delicious food, and — most importantly — the incredible people made this a truly special getaway. Thank you, Hermitage Bay, for an unforgettable experience. Your entire team made us feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for. We will absolutely be back! 🇦🇬❤️🌴 Five stars, without hesitation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TAKE ME BACK!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Hermitage Bay Review TAKE ME BACK! We’ve been to many places, and we hope to go to many more. Hermitage Bay is a place worthy of a return trip. Arrival and Site Being met upon arrival and ushered through customs is a very nice time saving treat. From there, a well-appointed private vehicle smoothly covers the roughly 40 minute drive to the resort itself. Immediately upon entering the property, everything is meticulously placed and the grounds are immaculate. We were greeted by Shawna, who along with Solange (truly sunshine personified), Jaquan, and Alicia (possibly The sweetest) are an incredible administrative staff. (Side note: It is good luck if you happen to see a mongoose, or if you see Ava from HR getting coffee! 🤣) Your welcome beverage will be made for you by Antony (of the ubiquitous smile and silky tones), Mervin (the smooth), Lian, or Queen Latoya and they will take great care of you throughout your stay. Clinton will take equal care of your beverages on the beach, and Troy, Jesse, Shemar and Kyle are the backup to the rest of the band and keep the flow groovy. Heading to the villa, Martin, Shane, Mark and Kawisi the wise along with their fleet of exotic import cars will be your transportation around the resort if you are ever in need and must be mentioned because the location of our villa inspired me to be so lazy as to ask for their services daily and they are super cool. Kim made sure the villa was immaculate, and the luxury was maintained impeccably throughout our stay. When you are ready to dine, prepare yourself for excellence. This restaurant earned two Michelin stars in 2025, and there is no doubt as to why. Head Chef Desroy, along with Chefs Liam and Sugar made such amazing meals that I have a hard time coming up with words. To say perfect is an understatement. Exquisite might be close. Every bite was what I hoped it would be. Every wish was met or exceeded. I still dream of the food. Even though we have good food and many choices here in San Diego, we still have yet to find adequate comparison since our trip. We were happy to be able to stay seven nights, just so that we had opportunity to work through most of both the lunch and dinner menus. Superb. Sublime. The joy created in the kitchen is transported with the utmost love by the caring hands of Keva, Zoe, Jillian (watch for the creative displays of the garden’s incredible carrots at lunch time!), Bianca the dancing queen, Cadedrah the glowing mom-to-be, Ryan the man, Shebeki, Annette, Patricia the sharer of coffee, and Jamie. Fine dining can only truly be fine dining with fine service, and make no mistake, each meal was absolutely lovely. Day to day Breakfast is perfect, and the pastries are not to be overlooked. Be sure to find the daily cookies on the bar, try the daily afternoon sushi at least twice (don’t forget the Nobu Chef in the house!), cook with the Chef (Sugar is super cool!), and meet the Staff at the meet-and-greet if you can. Either on the beach or by the pool, the ambiance is magical and space was plentiful even when at 100% occupancy. The tranquility is beautifully punctuated by small waves lapping at the sand. Tropical luxury at its finest. The snorkeling at the reef just off the beach is amazing with a tremendous variety. My wife isn’t a strong swimmer, so we took out a glass bottomed kayak, and she was able to see quite a bit. Delmond “Wiz” at water sports will outfit you and teach you a cool handshake if you’re lucky. As a side note, I find it especially compelling that many of the staff from the GM down have been at the resort for many years. While many resorts talk about ‘feeling like family’ it is obvious that these professionals truly are a family. And they will have you feeling like family too, wanting to go back like we do! Cheers!

The best resort I’ve ever visited

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This resort sets the standard - and a very high standard - for comfort, cleanliness, service, and amenities. As a personal preference, having a growing and beautiful reef twenty feet from the shore was marvelous: numerous reef and tropical fishes, squid, jellyfish, and corals in a riot of colors. Be prepared to also enjoy the tropical birds, mongooses (!), and the “house” cats. The staff are universally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food is superb. Morning coffee and pastries are a real treat. I tried a traditional Antiguan breakfast of salt fish and “chop” (sauteed vegetables), what was very good. Dinner at “Caribbean night” saw me gorging on jerk chicken, lamb roti (a meal in itself) and some of the best shrimp I’ve ever eaten. I am not generally a fan of music while I eat, but the performers were excellent; the ladies all had lovely voices and were a pleasure to hear. The resort is spotlessly clean. I cannot think of a single thing that they could do to improve. NOTE: while carts are certainly available, many of the bungalows are arrayed up the side of the hill; take a cart or be prepared to get in a good hike up the well-lighted and -maintained paths.

Relaxation at its finest!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The sign when you arrive “Relax you are here” always sums up our experience at Hermitage Bay! This was our second trip and we loved it so much we booked a 3rd trip while still on the property. The staff is so warm and they make everything so easy! The food and drinks are fantastic. The privacy of the Hillside Villas makes it feel like you have all of Antigua to yourself. We enjoy the plunge pool throughout the day and love napping on the porch. We had a fantastic yoga class on Monday morning and our massages at the spa were an A+. Though we missed the multi-course sushi experience from our first trip… we still enjoyed the daily sushi experience. The snorkeling is always fun! You will never regret a stay here. It’s my favorite! I have 0 complaints and only complements.

We found the hotel to be one of the best we have ever encountered. It's peaceful, it's well run, staff go out of their way to be helpful/friendly but not in a way that you think it's a burden.
