Hermitage Bay in Saint Mary's, Antigua and Barbuda

An unpaved road on the southeast coast of Antigua leads to Hermitage Bay, a collection of 25 villas clustered around the brilliant blue Caribbean Sea that offers a place to relax, restore and reconnect to a deeper self. Suites are airy and soothing, constructed from purpleheart, greenheart and other woods from sustainably managed forests in Guyana. Daily meditation and yoga classes, along with the natural beauty of deserted beaches, bring a sense of balance nurtured by caring staff.

Match your breath to the breeze rustling through fragrant frangipiani and oleander. Go for a swim among coral fish and dine in a grove of almond trees on a salad from the kitchen’s own organic produce garden. Gaze out at the silhouettes of Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis on the horizon while sipping a glass of prosecco.

We spent our second Christmas at hermitage bay and enjoyed it as much as our first trip. If you want peace of mind, tranquility and seclusion then this is the place to go. In addition you get great rooms excellent service and high quality cuisine. The beach is quiet and secluded and your every need is met by staff who can't do enough and all with a smile. A perfect location in beautiful surroundings.

Probably the best experience I have had at a resort. The staff was kind and generous, the rooms superb and food was perfect. The beach and pool was fantastic as well. This place is clearly for couples who want to have a calm vacation.

All of the staff were so nice, we will miss them all very much. The views are so breathtaking, the food could not be better, we hope to come again very soon, although the flight is very long. One of the best hotels we have ever visited. We had a late evening flight home and the staff was so kind, we could have used the room for longer, so we didn't have to sit around on the airport, rather we could enjoy the last day of our holiday as any day before!

From the lobby to the landscaping and the room, the aesthetic is spot on. This is what you expect the West Indies to feel like. The property is quiet (no artificial noise; the wind, the birds, and the surf are the only things you'll hear) and secluded at the end of a long unpaved road. The beach is a beautiful shape and bookended by rock formations on both ends. The food is great. By far the best I've had a hotel and similar in quality to what I've had at very nice restaurants (for anyone in the Birmingham area, think Highlands or Hot and Hot). The service is outstanding. The staff are warm and genuinely friendly. They will take care of everything you may possibly need. If this sounds like what you're looking for, I highly recommend Hermitage Bay.
