My husband and I just returned from our third visit to Hermitage Bay, and it just keeps getting better every time. The people who work at this resort deserve a standing ovation — they greet you with a smile at every turn and their sunshine shines down on you at all times. To say they make you feel at home is an understatement. Every staff member simply wants their guests to relax and enjoy their vacation in this most beautiful and serene setting. We stayed in a hilltop pool suite - the views are truly out of this world. And the outdoor area of your room is the most beautiful living, lounging, dining and swimming area you can imagine. The food was excellent, even better than our last visit a few years ago. Creative and delicious, and many options at all meals. We just can’t say enough about this very special place. We literally just got off the plane back home and are already looking forward to our next visit. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE AT HERMITAGE BAY!

If you are looking for a very relaxing quiet place this could be the place for you. We came here after a hectic few days in Barbados. We have just relaxed, eaten and drank. There I a beautiful beach with turquoise sea. There is pool area adjacent to the bar. You can have anything you want to drink at any time. The staff here are very polite and attentive. It was our anniversary while we were here and they made it very special. There were only couples here while we were here. The accommodation is beautiful we stayed in a garden suite which was one row back from the beach. A great place to just chill.

We came down for our honeymoon and the driver told us when we arrived, that he had a lot of people cry when they left, My wife was crying so hard when we were on our way to the airport. It was the best trip I've been on. If you are considering this stop and book it. You wont regret it.

This was the perfect place to have a honeymoon. It is very quaint and not touristy at all so its the perfect place to relax and unwind especially after the craziness of planning a wedding. The staff really made the trip that much more enjoyable as well. Everyone we came in contact with made us feel so welcome and like we had been friends for years! The water sports were also very easily accessible. They do not have jet skis but they have someone ride some over if you want to ride them and its just a small extra fee. And lets talk about the rooms!! We stayed in one of the rooms up the mountain and the views were seriously breathtaking. There was one day we didn't even leave the room because of our plunge pool that we had. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our first week of being married.

Someone met us at the airport and fast tracked us out of there in a matter of minutes which was great. We were then met with a friendly driver who took us to the resort, giving us some information on the island. Once arriving at Hermitage Bay our bags were taken care of as we just got warm greetings and placed in the bar, on a sofa overlooking the incredible view with fresh virgin mojitos handed to us to begin the check-in. It was blissful after the flight. We got a golf buggie ride up to our Hillside Suite (Room 37) and it was breathtaking. (It's a really tough walk up so just get the buggy every time, walk down is fine but you can buggy that too) The 180 degree view from the resort beach to Jolly Harbor was amazing. If the view is something you desire the most, the higher up the hill you are the better it gets. The whole stay was a mixture of relaxation and food, lots and lots of both. We ended up only leaving the resort once, do visit Stingray City which was a great experience. The reception handled the booking and taxi there all we had to do was give them a day and time. The food was simply amazing. The menu is typically in 2 parts, one changing every 2-3 days while the other changing daily. Breakfast had a great variety of options, the fresh fruit and local jams were so good. My husband loved the Eggs Benedict. Lunch and dinner you chose a starter, soup, main and desert from the menu, or just the options you want. (You will start by ordering everything for every meal until you realize how full you are all the time!) Look to spend around 2+ hours at dinner and around an hour and a half at lunch at least. The restaurant sits just behind the beach and you have an amazing view for all your meals. The bar was one of my favorite places, while all the staff were super friendly and accommodating the bar was uplifting fun, and they would make any cocktail or drink you could think of. I had several cocktails everyday (virgins in between each). It's actually a breath of fresh air being all inclusive and not thinking about any of it! The bar snacks were great, the sliders were super tasty (again, all inclusive!). The beach was beautiful, the chairs were never full there was always options on where to sit, and a member of staff would set you up with towels water etc. And a flag to put in the sand for assistance! The pool in the room was of a good temperature. Neither of us actually used any bug spray while there, I think we each got bitten maybe once throughout the entire week. We did have a lot of ants in and around our room on the first night, so we had the housekeeping spray for ants everyday, they never came back into the room after the first night. They did spray each night for them, but I believe it's because of the time of year for the area. Overall, they were not an issue and housekeeping took care of them each evening as part of the turn-down service. And onto the downsides, The middle section between the hillside villas and the beach villas had a very strong sewage smell. So you had to pass that every time you went to and from your room, not the nicest thing before hitting the restaurant. Also if the winds were blowing certain directions the smell can reach your room. On the Monday of our stay I had found the most beautiful preserved shell, maybe 2 inches and bleached but fully intact with arms/pillars coming out, I was so excited about it, i left it on my nightstand (hidden between my lotion bottles) hoping to get a picture of it on the beach when I had my camera with me (and maybe even sneak it home). Well after Tuesday mornings housekeeping it was gone. I noticed a couple other small things go while pieces of rubbish were still untouched on tables, so I was beyond annoyed. The reception didn't help with the matter, I called down asking about it was told they would look into it, the next day I had to ask again and they didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I was then told they would find me another shell ( I actually wanted the shell I had found but that was a nice offer) although that never happened either. So I will say try keep all your items locked up. I didn't have a suitcase lock so I would recommend doing that as the safe is very small.
