Love the resort The weather was amazing Not too hot and not too cold I have to admit that the food was not that great but I love the people. We had a chance to drive up to City of La Paz and a chance to see Balandras beach It was amazing beach. You can walk for half a mile out to the see and the water still is around your knee high. I was beautiful however the water is a little cold for me and my son. Totally recommend Cabo San Lucas and Balandras Beach

Everything was incredibly beautiful at Casa del Mar. Incredible room, high end finishing, amazing view. The pool was lovely; spotless and warm. The staff were all friendly and professional. The beach was gorgeous and the water was amazing to watch however not swimmable due to the undertow. There are timeshare condos on either side of the hotel we declined a presentation and they were fine with that.

Room 1304, Oceanfront room. Nice clean room with a modern tv that accepts HDMI or USB sticks. Breakfast was included each day which was a buffet. Lots to choose from! Dinner menu in the restaurant was a little limited but ok.Nice beach to walk on. The pool was quiet and drinks are served when needed. Happy hour is from 12-2 and drinks are 2 for 1.

We found this to be an ideal base for exploring the area. About half an hour from the airport, and roughly halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The resort is beautiful -- the pools, the landscaping, the architecture, the beach -- a truly lovely place to hang out and to wander. Likewise, well-appointed and beautiful hotel room -- beautifully and practically furnished, with all sorts of interesting details (lighted magnifying mirror, candles with matches, 2 bottles of water per day, plush bathrobe and slippers, nice toiletries, good coffee, etc.). We had great service, across the board. Employees were helpful and friendly and accommodating. And while the food was a little pricey, this is a pricey area of Mexico, and the meals we ate here were very good. We rented a car, and spent a day in Cabo San Lucas with whale watching in a zodiac (phenomenal!), a day in San Jose del Cabo exploring the town and taking in the Wirikuta show at night (also phenomenal -- prior reviewer ding-ed the experience as too expensive, but we skipped their dinner package and just did the show, and were very happy with the experience), a day in Todos Santos (about an hour away), a day in La Paz (about 2.5 hrs) for snorkeling with the sea lions, which would've been amazing had it not been a very cold and rainy day. And my husband golfed across the street at Cabo Real. Restaurant menu is a bit limited, and we wouldn't have wanted to eat all of our meals there. But we did restaurant dinners twice, and appetizers at the bar for dinner twice, and loved each of those meals. And we did the breakfast buffet on our final morning -- also fabulous. Our only complaint is the pressure to attend to timeshare presentation, and the pressure to up-sell on outings. I was happy to have researched and arranged the boat outings and Wirikuta tickets beforehand; my husband needed concierge service only to arrange his golf. Nothing against the concierge -- as she made it clear, this is her job. But it's also our vacation. That said, we hear that this is also true of all the other resorts in the area. And folks tried to lure is into timeshare presentations in the airport, and on the streets in Los Cabos. If you're at all considering doing a timeshare presentation, I'd suggest doing it with the hotel, instead of with someone who doesn't have any investment in you -- we've heard that sometimes the promised incentives don't materialize. But other than the timeshare hustles, this was a perfect vacation. Spectacular setting, lots to see and do, great food, friendly people -- it's got it all!

Billing was confusing as some costs were in Mexican pesos, while others were in US dollars and we needed to track in CDN dollars - lots of fun! Constant selling for timeshares got to be frustrating. The resort staff was generally fantastic. The grounds were beautiful and the facilities were clean. We got along without renting a car for the 30 days. Took in a few tours which were mostly worthwhile. Avoid the Wirikuta supper and show however - way too expensive.
