Wonderful time in Cabo at this resort. The setting, overlooking the Sea of Cortez, was spectacular. The five restaurants offer different options for food and all are very good. Incredible warm and attentive service, especially from our amigo, Jorge!

I strongly recommend staying at this hotel. This was my 4 year returning to the Marquis Los Cabos. There were some new adventures for us to share over last year. Location - The resort is on the tip of the Baja peninsula closer to San Jose del Cabo than Cabo San Lucas. It is typically a 15 min ride from the SJD airport. This year there was some major road construction near San Jose Del Cabo which caused some delays but not too bad. Our ride was in a comfortable van with AC. Atmosphere - The resort is adult only, so the atmosphere can change depending on what groups are staying. Upon arrival the resort was calm and relaxed. That can change if large groups or wedding parties arrive which tend to be more energetic. Rooms - Unfortunately for the resort, there were many last-minute cancellations due to the cartel violence on the mainland. That turned out to be an opportunity for us because we were offered a great discount on upgrading to a Casita which is like a small apartment with a private plunge pool; very nice indeed. Interestingly enough though, several days after arriving, management wanted to move us to another casita to accommodate a large wedding party. In exchange for moving, we were offered spa access for the remainder of our stay and complementary use of a pool cabana for two of those days. Management gave us two different options and a day or two to decide, so no pressure was applied. Management staff were very kind and professional. We were not inconvenienced at all. Staff - I can't say enough good about the tireless staff at the resort. The groundskeepers are walking the property before the sun comes up getting things ready for the guests. The wait staff were always pleasant and courteous. I have a list I will share of the staff we interacted with that really impressed us with their dedication and hard work: My top two people at the resort are Adriana the hostess at the Vista Ballenas restaurant and Sergio Tellez who rotates between restaurant waiter and working the pool chairs. Adriana has an amazing memory for guest names and room numbers and has an effusive personality that really made me feel welcome. Sergio demonstrates some serious hustle and goes out of his way to accommodate guest requests. Other stand out performances from the managerial staff were Azucena (Susie) the restaurant manager, Lilliana the front desk manager, People who worked as waiter/waitress in restaurants, also worked the line of pool chairs delivering food and drinks deserve special thanks. We stepped off the round-trip distance they walk from the bar or restaurant carrying heavy loads of food and drink to the pool chairs and estimated they walk at least 10 miles a day! Here are the superstars that handled that workload in the heat with an ever-ready smile: Tania at breakfast service Maricruz who worked the pool line and restaurants Jose Figueroa who worked the pool line and restaurants Isabel-who worked the pool line and restaurants Sergio #2 who worked the pool line and restaurants Carlos who worked the omelet station at breakfast Emmanuel at the breakfast service Ana who was hostess at breakfast and lunch Enrique who was a waiter Guadeloupe our maid in the first casita Lucia our maid at the second casita Alejandro (Alex) at breakfast Alberto a waiter at dinner and Damian who we met on his first day (13 Mar) at the breakfast service. They also have a great entertainment team made up of Melanie, Monteserat (Monte) and Jhony. The do a great job getting the guests involved in a variety of fun activities. A couple of new things this year were Spanish lessons and a candle making class. Based on the plaque on the wall in the reception areas, the hotel was opened in 2003. In some areas the resort is showing its age, but the maintenance crews are out every day working to keep things in good working order. The casitas were cleaned top to bottom every day and our fridge / snack tray was refilled every day. Tips (both travel related and monetary) Take the time to talk with the staff and learn a bit about them. They are very accommodating and helpful if you want to learn some Spanish. As you lean a bit more you can begin to understand their culture and get more out of your trip than getting bombed at the pool. Bring a healthy supply of one- and five-dollar bills to tip your servers. And don't forget the hard-working groundskeepers and maids/cleanup crews either. I don't know if the non-guest facing employees get a share of the tips, so I made a point of learning a Spanish sentence that said I appreciated their hard work and when I saw non-guest facing workers, I gave them a dollar tip. I brought $350 in ones for a 10 day stay and spent them all. If you stay here you won't be disappointed!

Marquis never disappoints. This is our 3rd visit, and leaving is always sad for us. So relaxing, and the food and drinks are amazing. The entire staff is so friendly and courteous, and always happy to accommodate any request. Entertainment can be loud in the evening, but the sound of the awesome ocean waves breaking cancels that out! Rooms are spacious, clean, with plenty of drawers and closet space for whatever you bring, and spectacular views of Sea of Cortez. Beautiful resort - couldn't ask for more. Thank-you Marquis for another great vacation.
