The Vista Ballenos restaurant for breakfast or lunch is fantastic! The wonderful selection of gourmet foods and beverages will fulfill any palate! The staff consists of Manager Karla, Hostess Adriana and team members Jovencio and Detzanit! This team of staff are the finest five star anyone could ask for!!

From the moment we arrived I felt like royalty. We were greeted and taken to our room in the most finessed way possible. All of the information necessary was given right off the bat. Our room was gorgeous, clean, filled with snacks, and a little nook to get coffee and pastries in the morning. In the afternoon the staff would prepare the room for bedtime by removing pillows. A little too much for me but it was their job and part of the experience. The location of the hotel itself is great as well. The ocean views are to die for. The ocean is dangerous because of the waves, so no swimming is recommended. If you want to go swimming you can walk along the shore to another beach where there are many people swimming however, when we went the waves were still a bit much on that side. The walk over was nice but there were too many rocks and shells in the sand, I recommend bringing water shoes or sandals. The overall experience was tremendous. I felt like a queen the entire time. The food at the restaurants and room service was great. We went to all the restaurants included in the all-inclusive (which were all but one- a french restaurant). The hotel was great and beautiful but the experience would not have been as good as it was if it were not for the employees. These people make your stay worthwhile. They are so kind and cater to your needs with a smile on their face. They all were so genuinely kind and language barrier was never an issue. We did tip the servers every time we went to the restaurants,bar, or had drinks brought pool side. As well as the maids. These people work their butt's off, sweating, and running back and forth but always in a good mood. The ceviche and lunch at Dos Mares is a must and teppanyaki at Sakke is also a must. We had Aldo as our chef and he was such a good sport even when he messed up sometimes. Other than that, great entertainer. Shout out to Gabriel (we had him four times both in Dos Mares and Sakke- great hard working person!), Jorge, and Juvencio for being awesome servers!!

My husband, friends, and I went to the Marquis again (7/8-7/13) and again had a wonderful time (our room was not "upgraded" this time, but the standard room is lovely, too). I'm simply adding to my previous review. This time, we paid for the "French" dinning experience (we had Costco credit and applied it towards the dinner). We were hesitant at first as the onsite restaurants that are included are wonderful, so it was difficult to justify spending money when what's already offered is really good. Since we had the credit, we applied it towards are meal. So glad we did! The food was wonderful! Even though it's on the resort, you get a different experience. I really liked the wines that were paired with the food. The service provided by Daniel, Antonio, and Diego was impeccable. It's definitely worth the $$...even better if you have a Costco resort credit. As a side note, I kept checking the weather on my phone's weather app and I was warned of thunder storms all week. The weather ended up being pretty close to perfect!

There's a lot to cover on this resort, some great, some okay, and some not so good. My best friend and I went to the Marquis for a quick girl's weekend. We wanted to relax, drink, and eat good food. When we first arrived at the resort, we were very impressed with the beautiful lobby. It is just gorgeous! However, the greeting we received was not very hospitable. It may have been a busy time for them, but we weren't really welcomed by anyone and there wasn't a welcome drink in sight... no big deal, but it's just the missed details like that kind of stick out. This resort is great for relaxation. The spa is AMAZING. It is expensive, but well worth it. We both got the Marquis Signature Massage and they threw in an exfoliation treatment for free. Our therapists were great, mine even braided my hair towards the end of my massage. That was a very sweet and unexpected touch. Our treatments were topped off with two glasses of champagne and a chocolate cake to share. Very thoughtful! Our room was clean and beautiful! We did receive a slight upgrade to a higher room with a full ocean view from a low level room with partial ocean views. That was nice. The service at the pool is kind of slow. I think it's because they might be understaffed. You can't get in the ocean at this resort because the waves are INSANE. The awesome pools make up for this though. They're super clean and nice and cool. A MUST in the Cabo heat. There are two things that really aggravated me during our stay... the restaurants alternate nights that they are open. One night when only Vista Ballenas was open, we had to wait a while for a table. We weren't seated until around 9:30 and the restaurant closes at 10:00. Our server was noticeably irritated that we were seated in his section. He was curt, rude, and very short with us. Not cool. The second thing that I noticed which was just a little low-rent and sneaky, was that if you ordered a particular liquor from the bar, you better go to the bar and watch them pour it. There were several times when I ordered a Don Julio on the rocks and got something cheaper. The last thing that I thought was pretty rude, it didn't happen to us, but to some friends we had made while there. Our last night there at the main bar, a group across from us and our friends were given an entire bottle of tequila. Our friends asked if they could have one for our table as well and the bartender said no. This wouldn't have been a big deal except that our friends had paid to upgrade to the highest level room available at the Marquis. They were spending a LOT of money at this resort. The blatant motion of disrespect was very apparent and definitely not appreciated by the two of us or our friends. It was just so, so rude. Overall, we had a good time. I would say that management needs to push more hospitality on its restaurant and bar staff. Hospitality can make or break someone's stay. We probably won't visit here again.

From the moment we arrived, the resort made us feel like VIPs. They were incredibly friendly and always accommodating to our needs. The liquor was top shelf brands and the food was exquisite. The resort had scheduled events daily and throughout the day. All amenities were clean and had a luxury feel. The entertainment was captivating and had great energy. If you plan on swimming in the ocean however, this is not the place as the current and waves are too strong and resort does not provide ocean access for your own safety. We will definitely return as a no children, all-inclusive resort is truly a relaxing vacation.
