My bestie and I were wanting a getaway. We are both overworked female doctors, so we decided to spend a little more to go to Marquis against our better judgement. Apparently, the day before, they had hosted big Jewish party that had rented out the entire hotel. The hotel had to switch things around to make everything kosher, which is entirely fine. However, they were completely unprepared for our arrival the next day after the large party left. Bc of the low occupancy (only 40 rooms booked), they only opened only two of the five restaurants. This after they promised my friend that all the restaurants would be open. Mind you, we are both fluent in Spanish and there was no language barrier. I'm sorry, but just because a large party paid to have the hotel prior to our arrival doesn't mean that we deserve less during our stay. In addition, the food wasn't very good at all. The ceviche tasted foul. We both have stayed at the Riu Palace before for less and experienced better food and better service. Not only that, we tried to go to one of the only two restaurants open but were treated rudely. We were seated in our attire, which was our swimwear with cover ups on. After we were seated, we were served drinks, but then someone else came and asked us to leave bc we were not appropriately dressed. This would have been fine if they asked us to leave initially before being seated. We wouldn't have gladly gone up to our rooms to change, but it was rude to seat us, take our drink orders, and then ask us to leave bc we were inappropriately dressed. We then went to the front desk to ask about which restaurants were open and they said that on Wednesdays and certain other days, only two restaurants are open. This is not what was explained to my friend earlier, and it seems like false advertisement on their website if this is the case. We are currently trying to leave the hotel if we can find somewhere else to stay.

This hotel is nothing short of amazing. All of the rooms face the ocean and from the infinity pools to the beautiful sand this place is heaven. The restaurants are amazing, the staff is superb. It is gay friendly and we had no issues as a couple. We loved, loved, loved this place and can't say enough good things about it. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

We were last in Cabo in May 2015 at the Marquis and had a great time. I wanted to go back to Cabo, but I thought I might want to try one of the new or refurbished hotels since we had been there last. I rented a car and looked at the new hotels like the Hyatt Ziva and said to myself "no way". I got in the car and went to the Marquis. The manager Fernando Herrera remembered us and gave us the room we wanted. He even remembered the shirt I was wearing from 2 years ago. He was great. The service was again great, They even had the Cuban rum I had when I was in Havana this past January. They are very accommodating and that is what makes a great vacation. We were there in March 2017 and it was more crowded then in May, but the service still held up. They have a new pizza oven at Pergola and the staff, hostess-Adriana, Manager-Santo, staff-Abel, Benjamin, Julio,Jose and Carlo did everything to please us.

This was our eighth stay in Los Cabos, and this resort exceeded all our expectations. The food was excellent, especially the guacamole and ceviche. The entertainment staff were very inventive in coming up with new games to play. We used the spa on the second day and felt great for the rest of our stay. We would recommend this resort to anyone.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here beginning 3/26/17. We arrived before noon and were able to check in right away. That took all of 5 minutes while my wife stood in the open lobby and admired the view. Our room on the 4th floor was perfect, and we slept with the balcony doors wide open to enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves. Room service for breakfast was great, and we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Lots of choices, can order from the menu if you prefer. Dinners at the Italian, Mexican, and Asian restaurants were great. Service was good, and the pacing of dinner was perfect for us. We did not eat at the extra charge French restaurant. The coffee shop is perfect for coffee, treats, and paninis. Poolside service was attentive and fast. We loved enjoying our lunches poolside. The guac was divine. The ceviche was great, I highly recommend! The entertainment staff would come around to inform of next activity, but were never intrusive or pushy. There was very little of the "towel game", as spots around the pools were plentiful. It was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed for our stay there. It was very easy to walk across the highway and catch the bus to the marina ($2 per person). Will definitely return!
