We really wanted to love this resort, especially given its location and reputation, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing overall. After staying at several other resorts in Cabo, we all agreed that we would not stay at Marquis Los Cabos again. The biggest issue is that the hotel is in desperate need of renovations and updates. The entire property is starting to feel rundown, and many areas of the resort look like they haven’t been properly maintained or refreshed in quite some time. Our room had several issues. We had problems with the air conditioning for almost our entire stay, and the room was extremely humid. It felt like the humidity never fully left the room, to the point where the sheets and other things almost felt damp. This was something I had never experienced at any other hotel I’ve stayed at in Cabo. The patio doors were also slightly broken and wouldn’t fully close, but closed enough for the AC to work, the safe didn’t work, and the couch in the room looked like it had, or was starting to have, mold growing on it. These are not things I would expect from a resort that markets itself as a luxury property. The food was another major disappointment. I’ve read several other reviews mentioning that the food is mediocre at best, and unfortunately, I have to agree. As someone who really enjoys food and considers myself a foodie, I found the dining experience to be underwhelming. The best food we had was at the pizza restaurant, which was unfortunately rarely open, and at the pool. Sakke, the Asian restaurant, was also very good. Outside of those options, the food was largely forgettable. One night we went to the main restaurant Vista Ballenas excited that there was seafood on the menu to be told that they were out of seafood for the night… yes, a restaurant on the ocean out of seafood. Let that sink in a minute, comical in fact. The drinks were just OK. Many times, you couldn’t taste any alcohol in them at all. If you wanted a drink where you could actually taste the alcohol, you practically had to ask for a double or even a triple. That’s not what I expect from an all-inclusive resort. There were, however, some positives. The views are absolutely fantastic, and the pool area is nice. Sergio Tec at the pool was fantastic and was easily one of the highlights of our stay. You can genuinely tell that he loves his job and takes pride in providing great service. Employees like Sergio are what make the experience better and deserve recognition. One thing to be aware of is that if you aren’t up before 7 a.m. to reserve a lounger, you’re probably not going to get one with a good ocean view. The best spots are claimed very early in the morning. We also had dinner at the Hilton one night during our stay, and honestly, the difference between the two properties was shocking. It really put things into perspective for us. Compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at in Cabo, Marquis felt more like a nice three-star hotel than the luxury five-star experience we were expecting. Overall, this wasn’t a terrible vacation, but for the price and the expectations that come with staying at a luxury all-inclusive resort, we expected much more. Between the outdated property, ongoing AC issues, excessive humidity in the room, broken amenities, disappointing food, and mediocre drinks, there were simply too many issues to overlook. The beautiful views, nice pool, and excellent service from people like Sergio were the highlights, but unfortunately, they weren’t enough to make up for the overall experience. Based on our stay, we all agreed that we would not return.

I would definitely recommend Marquis Resort to my family and friends. I came with my husband, my sister, and my brother-in-law, and we all had a wonderful time. The rooms were beautiful, cozy, and kept nice and cool, making our stay very comfortable. Our favorite part of the resort was the breathtaking ocean view and the sound of the waves. It was incredibly calming, romantic, and relaxing. Falling asleep each night to the soothing sound of the ocean was one of the highlights of our trip and made the entire experience feel even more peaceful. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the tacos they were some of the best we had during our stay! The only areas that could use some improvement were the pool service and the late-night in-suite room service. At the pool, it often took about 20–30 minutes to receive the drinks we ordered. We’re not sure if they were short-staffed, but the wait times were noticeably longer than we’ve experienced at other resorts. Our experience with the midnight room service was unfortunately disappointing. One night, I called around 10:52 p.m. to order chips and guacamole. I was told to call back in 20 minutes because the staff member was busy and the midnight menu didn’t begin until 11:00 pm. When I called back around 11:20 pm, I tried three times, but no one answered. It was frustrating, especially since I followed the instructions I was given. That said, there were several employees who truly stood out. Edgar was one of the best servers we encountered. Even though he was assigned to another section of the pool, he was always accommodating and happy to help whenever we asked for a drink. Esme and Jared were also fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming, and always encouraged us to participate in the activities. They were also happy to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and the excellent accommodations, delicious food, stunning ocean views, and outstanding staff made our trip truly memorable. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner at Sakke restaurant. I had an allergy request and Alejandra was wonderful making sure that the food that I ordered met my allergy requirements. She even had the chef come to the table to confer with me. Such over and above service. I felt very taken care of!
