Reviews for Sonora Resort

Perfect

Sonora is a very special place. For us a once in a lifetime treat. Arriving by helicopter to the resort was thrilling. We had a diamond room top floor which had spectacular views and was a very good size. It’s all inclusive and the food was of a very high standard. There was even a “snack” room to pick up goodies prior to your excursion’s. We went on the grizzly tour and fished for salmon with Don. Both we would recommend. The hiking trails great and you must stop at discovery island to see the sea lions and seals. The helicopter wasn’t scheduled on the day we left so took the 1 1/2 hour boat trip into Campbell River at 1pm and our flight to Vancouver didn’t leave until 6pm. This was annoying as there was a lot of waiting around so look into this when booking. It was also suggested that we tip $60 per person per day and tip all our excursions. The resort was quite expensive so thought that tips should be included.

Wonderful staycation

Went for a couple of days direct from Kenmore air, top of the lake and landed right on the dock for an incredible 3 day stay -bear watching, eating, hiking extravaganza. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and fun -in fact the real secret of this place is the incredible group of people they have working there-from the welcome off the docks, to the people working the bars, stores and especially the restaurant staff-they made an already incredible eperience even more memorable

MICE in our room and in the common rooms, Slow Restaurant, Confusion with Fishing Charters

Third time to Sonora, this was not the level we expected, hard to understand how you keep the Relais & Chateaux designation. Botched our fishing reservation, botched our Eco tour, SLOW restaurant service (3 hours for dinner with kids!!!) MICE in the rooms, crawling over our heads in the night, MICE in the common rooms, droppings in the couches and around the fridges, and seen in the Bar/Lounge. Fishing Guides AMAZING, Water Taxi FANTASTIC, Staff move at a VERY SLOW pace.

Cohesive, conscietnious taam ot employees. We especially appreciate Amy in dining; Joe for salmon fishing; Josh for Blind Channel Tour. They are remarkable and memorable. We enjoyed meeting Grace Charlotte. Your manager of marine activities is a keeper. He is intelligent, thoughtful and kind. Connor helped my husband appreciate fly fishing in a way he never thought he would. Thank you.

Our family of 8 (ages 4 to 75) had a memorable stay at Sonora. Gorgeous setting replete with friendly staff, thought-through design, exquisite landscaping, a smorgasbord of activity choices, and exciting wildlife to observe.
