Miraval Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona

Mindfulness is at the core of Miraval Resort & Spa's philosophy. Set against the Santa Catalina Mountains amid cacti and golden desert fields, the Miraval experience aims to bring guests' physical, emotional, social and spiritual components into harmony with classes, treatments and opportunities for personal growth. With guidance from a team of on-site specialists – from physiologists to photographers to Native American shamans – you’ll create a path to living your best life in whatever way you choose.

Start the day with a gratitude meditation. Release tension with a session of aerial yoga, gliding into poses with the support of silk hammocks suspended off the ground. Join a group of new friends for a trail run across the sun-baked terrain. Gain clarity through a Reiki session and a sound bath from Tibetan singing bowls. Join Executive Chef Justin Macy to learn the secrets to healthy cooking. Sip on cabernet under the vivid constellations of the desert night sky.

Yes, the price tag might scare you, but it is worth every penny! From the food and beverage, to the classes, to the spa services, to the amenities, to the service. After your stay is over, you will be kvelling and dying to come back!

Had an amazing weekend celebrating a friends 50th birthday. Everything was so special and well thought out. Highly recommend booking treatments as far in advance as possible to get what you want, but be willing to expand your choices to the unusual such as the meditations and small classes to learn new things.

Never having been to a commercial resort and spa combination previously, I have no other experience to compare it to.. But, what ever could have been or is better than the Miraval experience? From the experience of making reservations, selecting activities, and sleeping in Paradise, they have shown me the best

Absolutely top rate stay at this beautiful and peaceful resort. It is in pristine condition in a beautiful desert setting. The staff is entirely accommodating and the treatments are out of this world!

Celebrating w my daughter before her graduation from law shool. A wonderful place to reset the body and the mind. Stand outs are anything w Wyatt Web , equine experiences and the outdoor challenges. Services are great and lectures excellent. Staff wonderful and friendly. While the experience was fantastic , here are some key points for those planning. MUST make reservations for your activities well in advance for services and classes. MIn 4-5 weeks. !!! There are wait lists but that is a gamble and everything fills up v quickly . The class sizes are intimate , which is great but they do FILL up , so scheduling in advance key. Very understaffed at dinner hours, so the service is slow. Note if you are planning to do eve service. Logistics. There are no direct flights to Tucson from NYC . Instead of a connection we flew to Phoenix and did a car service /uber. I would recommend this vs flight change and travel risks of a connecting flight. Rooms very comfortable. Beds amazing and black out shades fabulous. But, NO slippers ? !! esp since carpets are trashed (think all that hiking and outdoor activities in the dessert ) . Food is buffet for breakfast and lunch . Average. Dinner very good but equally v slow.. Friendly welcoming and a perfect place to reset . Think superior outdoor elegance and a place to find a new set point.
