Miraval Arizona

If you're ready to lean into relaxation, creativity, fitness, and overall just being taken care of, Miraval is an excellent place. I was blown away by how welcomed and at home I felt, how every experience from the food to the spa services to the bedding are catered to the guest experience. It allows guests to strip away the stress of everyday life and find themselves. I highly recommend the energy healing experiences-- once I got home, I realized how different I felt energetically and how much more I had to give after having my "cups filled" in my session. The desert is beautiful and a little intimidating, but overall the resort is so welcoming that it immediately feels like home. But better.

The property was beautiful and kept up well. Our room was close to everything. The rooms were nice, but if you're allergic to down, make sure to ask for down-alternative. Our allergies were horrible the whole time, even after switching. The showers were small, the light under the sink would light up the whole room when going to the bathroom, the chair and sofa weren't comfortable. The food didn't have much flavor, the red snapper was very chewy, the buffet hummus was watered down, the salmon was tender, bacon was delicious, granola was good. The bar area happy hour wasn't kept up or filled. Alcohol not included. We called the front desk to stop the smoke detector low battery beeping next to our room, but continued the whole time which was annoying. I was taken back late for my massage and they ended early too, so only had 40 minutes of massage, and they are expensive there. Anniversary not acknowledged.

A wonderful, memorable stay at Miraval Arizona. It was the first time visiting and an amazing getaway for a mom-and-me trip. My favorite parts: the spa, the fresh smoothies, the staff, the beds, the QUIET atmosphere - no one is on their phones - what a relief. The classes and activities were all so much fun! I walked away from the trip feeling relaxed, recentered, and eager to visit again. A few areas of opportunity - there are parts of the property that need an update, like wear and tear (paint wearing off in parts of the rooms, some of the pool furniture by the fitness pool could be updated). There was also one spa service I wasn't thrilled about - if you are pregnant (like I was) I highly recommend calling when booking to explain what you are looking for. I was quite uncomfortable during the Tula Massage and felt like my therapist was inexperienced. This one is over $300 - so make sure you get someone good or book a different service. Otherwise, I had another massage and facial that were the best I've ever had in my life!

Whatever expectations are of Miraval, double them! It was amazing. It was the perfect place for a solo vacation to celebrate my 55th birthday.

For my wife and me, this was a milestone anniversary. Plus, our son had just sold his company. Both reasons to celebrate. And where better than Miraval Arizona! In hindsight, maybe we should have laid back and chilled for the weekend. That IS an option. Instead, we took full advantage of 2D/1N beginning with Mountain Biking at dawn, followed by Aroma Flow Yoga, Qigong, Breathwork, Shoulders Set Free, Yoga Nidra and Gratitude Meditations on just the first day. Whether your go-to is coffee or tea, the start of Day 2 required our full attention to climb a 35-foot pole, then traverse the Desert Tightrope. Next up were Cardio Drumming, spa treatments, and Gentle Aerial Yoga, complemented by classes around Fostering Creativity, Dream Alchemy, and a Circadian Rhythm Reset. Still, we made time so savor Miraval's delectable eats and drinks at Palm Court Café, Cactus Flower Restaurant, and Coyote Moon Bar & Lounge. Somehow, sometime, we relaxed and unwound totally in accommodations that were out-of-this-world (well, outside of Tucson at least). On our short drive back to civilization, thoughts that would have populated our "word cloud" included active, exhilarating, reflective, delicious, soothing, peaceful, fun, challenging, rewarding, fulfilling, and gratifying. Also, spent, tired, exhausted and full. As well as grateful. Additionally, the one thought an which my wife, son and his partner, and I all agreed: Let's do this again soon!
