Reviews for Miraval Arizona

Better the first time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

The resort is one of a kind. For the price of the room and activities, they need to ensure the rooms are ready and functional. They need to have spa appointments available. You probably can get the same great experience somewhere else and even by the water for the cost of what the Miraval charges. This was my second time at the resort, and it felt less than my first experience.

Underwhelmed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Very underwhelmed. Much less luxurious and special than the marketing materials and social media reflect. The spa is very nice. The staff is very nice. I went with my daughter for a special trip. We enjoy cooking and eating healthy food. The food is not very good and you don’t have any other options. Think cruise ship. The main lounge is straight out of 1998- random music playing with a buffet of tortilla chips and veggies and hummus. The hotel room was fine- very dark with old brown carpet. We did not have the basic room. Some classes and spa services were great. I spent $10,000 for the 2 of us to go to Miraval for 3 nights. I have always wanted to go to Miravel. We checked that box.

Delightful experience at Miraval. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary by enjoying this special place together. Everything about Miraval was excellent, from the lovely spacious room to the delightful and highly qualified staff to the delicious food and beautiful setting. We look forward to coming back!

Mixed Experience but Some Highlights

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. Communication was an issue, as I didn’t receive emails for classes, the spa, or transportation until I reached out myself, and I only knew about them because a friend received hers. On the positive side, the massage therapist was excellent, and both the front desk and gift shop staff were amazing. The variety of classes and instructors was great, though a small turnoff was that they seemed to be subtly advertising other classes and items to purchase, almost like a cruise ship. The menu was great, and I enjoyed being able to try a variety of dishes with the smaller portions. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It started off well on the first day but declined after that. The hotel seemed short-staffed, and our server attended to other tables first. We even received our appetizers after the table next to us had finished their entrees, despite having ordered before them.

Miraval is just wonderful!! It is truly a relaxing getaway that offers so much for everyone. You can push yourself to the limit with the ropes/challenge experience; yoga, pilates and other tough exercise classes; the equine experience; or just enjoy the spa with the most wonderful treatments. Loved every minute of it. The setting is serene, the staff couldn't be more helpful, and the spa treatments are truly beyond!!! Can't wait to go back!
