Given Miraval Arizona's price point and reputation, this stay was deeply disappointing. The food offered at the resort was overall poor, bland, and far below what you would expect from a luxury wellness destination. There is little variation in food at lunch. Many of the food items were stale (bread, cookies, tortilla chips). The "hors d'oeuvres" were stale tortilla chips, crudite, and various dips. My sister had a prenatal massage, and the provider smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which is completely inappropriate and was very uncomfortable for her. My own 50-minute Sacred Sounds massage was disappointing. The session started 5-6 minutes late, but still ended on time. It was advertised as including breath work, but there was no breath work component. The advertisement does not make it clear that the sound bowl portion dominates the treatment, leaving me with maybe 15 minutes total time for a full body massage. This felt misleading and not what I paid top tier pricing for. It was difficult to find the location of a couple activities, which led to us missing them. One was the stretch class, which is supposed to be at the Body Mindfulness Center. Once we arrived to the BMC, there were no signs directing us where to go. There are several rooms off the main gym, but none had a sign indicating which one the stretch class was in. The 2-hour archery class included at least a full hour of talking and information before you even get to try the activity. Checkout was unnecessarily complicated for us and another group of women. This caused our airport shuttle to leave late. The shuttle took longer than we were told, which led to us getting to the airport only 45 min before our flight took off. Miraval had been a bucket list experience for my sister and I for years. To say that we were wildly disappointed is an understatement. While our room was beautiful, we found ourselves looking at other luxury wellness resorts to try in the future. Miraval charges top tier pricing and is routinely on many travel publications' lists for must-do wellness experiences. It certainly did not live up to that reputation.

What stood out most about my experience at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa was truly the hospitality. From the moment we arrived, it felt like everyone genuinely cared about making our stay exceptional. The staff didn’t just do their jobs—they went out of their way to anticipate our needs, offer warm greetings, and make thoughtful gestures that made us feel welcomed and valued. Whether it was a friendly smile, a helpful recommendation, or someone taking extra time to ensure everything was just right, the level of attentiveness was consistent throughout the resort.

My husband has been coming to Miraval annually for about 5 years. I started joining him last year and it's been transformational. The classes, the meditation, the time spent working on and getting in touch with myself has helped me be much more present. It's also brought my husband and I so much closer. We plan on coming back at least once a year for our "annual tune up." I recommend it to anyone with crazy, hectic lives (work, small kids, life) who needs to take a minute, rest and recharge. It's the best money you could possibly spend.

Really disappointing experience at Miraval - hard to believe that their reputation can survive if they treat guests like we were treated. I gifted my 20-something daughters a day pass visit as a holiday gift and we all visited in late December 2025. Exercise classes - weight and cardio dance - were fair at best and not at all the caliber I would expect at a place like Miraval but the worst part of our visit was when my daughter missed 20 min of her massage, while waiting the entire time in their waiting room, because the massage therapist did not bother to call her name and stood in the gift shop just hanging out. With no clocks in the waiting room my daughter had no idea how much time had passed but eventually approached the counter to ask about her massage and then received an abbreviated massage (which the spa/massage is the main reason to go to a place like Miraval in my opinion). She spoke to the spa manager following the massage, explaining what happened, and the manager said she would discount her visit. As we left for the day I stopped by the front desk to ask for a copy of my bill, so I could check that we had received the discount, I was told I would receive it via email by 5 pm that night. Three days later I still had not received my bill and had to contact Miraval again to request the bill. When I finally got the bill there was no discount. I should add that it is impossible to reach anyone at Miraval on the phone, I easily spent 45 min on the phone each time I tried to reach someone there. I called again to discuss my bill and was told that they would comp me the cost of the massage and I should receive a new itemized bill that day. Again the bill did not appear and I had to chase it down. This time when I received the bill, the total had somehow increased instead of decreased and I now owed them about $200 more. At this point I called again and asked to be comped for the entire day pass as now in addition to the disappointing experience I had spent so much time trying to receive my bill and have it accurately corrected. I was told they would have to speak to a manager and they would get back to me by the end of the day. At the end of the day I did receive a new itemized bill that discounted me a portion but not the full amount of the day pass with no explanation and no apology. I live in Tucson - people ask me all the time whether to go to Canyon Ranch or Miraval - I will never recommend anyone go to Miraval again. We will be returning to Canyon Ranch and encouraging everyone we know to do the same. A visit to Miraval should be a relaxing escape and this was anything but that. Really shocked at how bad the customer service experience was and that the quality of the overall experience was not better. Something is really wrong with the management and operations there.

Decent experience but Berkshires programming is better. 2 of the experiences were awful vs every experience in Berkshires was amazing.

Miraval is just wonderful!! It is truly a relaxing getaway that offers so much for everyone. You can push yourself to the limit with the ropes/challenge experience; yoga, pilates and other tough exercise classes; the equine experience; or just enjoy the spa with the most wonderful treatments. Loved every minute of it. The setting is serene, the staff couldn't be more helpful, and the spa treatments are truly beyond!!! Can't wait to go back!
