My stay at Miraval was much more (in every way) that I could have imagined. I came back feeling renewed, spiritually awakened, and the most positive I have felt in a long time. Not knowing too much about Miraval, I went in thinking it would be more of a weight loss wellness retreat to help jump start my postpartum diet but I definitely got more out of it than expected. My husband had been there on a group trip but didn't let on much about his visit there probably because he wanted me to discover and be pleasantly surprised by what Miraval has to offer. One thing he mysteriously told me I must do was Quantum Leap..and that I must go first. Upon arrival, I discovered quickly that there were far more things to take in than just eating well and exercising all day. As for my Quantum Leap experience - I remember going into Quantum Leap rather haughty and overly confident that I would be able to complete the challenge without a hitch. I learned so much about myself while stuck at the top for what seemed like a very long time. That's when I realized that Miraval wasn't just about weight loss or exercise - everything had a mental and spiritual component to it. Miraval is an all encompassing well-being retreat that helps to achieve a better physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional state (amongst many other states). My mind was open. I was also given the help I needed spiritually and emotionally by all the specialists that Miraval had to offer. I can't thank them enough for this! There is definitely something for everyone there - even for the hesitant ones. I can't recommend the resort enough to family and friends and hope to return often. Thank you Miraval again for all of your positivity, hospitality, and encouragement. The staff truly made me feel warm and welcome - can't wait to return!

I recently met up with my college room-mate at Miraval for a mini-reunion. I was a bit nervous as Miraval was recently purchased by Hyatt. This was my 10th visit to Miraval over the past 17 years and I must say that Miraval has consistently remained special in every possible way. I cannot say one negative thing. This time, I was able to stay in a Sunrise suite, in the 600s and these rooms are special and stunning. The yoga and meditation classes are excellent and the spa treatments are fantastic. The entire facility was spotless and staff members are friendly and welcoming. Each and every time I visit, I have a unique and lovely experience. Getting there from the east coast is a challenge, but well worth the lengthy travel time. I can say with confidence that I will return again.

My mom and I stayed here in a dreamcatcher room in January. The weather wasn't great, it was very cold and cloudy while we were there! I was very impressed with the bedding in the room, it is heavenly. The spa robes were amazing and we even ordered one for home! The food is to die for, healthy salads of all types at lunch, wonderful breakfast and dinner as well, and you always have the option to order off the menu or eat the buffet for breakfast and lunch, or both! At dinner there is also a standing option of a beef or seafood entree that isnt on the changing menu. This wasnt always mentioned. The smoothie bar was included as well, but I am not a smoothie fan and they were fairly high calorie so I only had one. There were also grab n go sandwiches and parfaits here. The activities are constant, and varied. We did the "just cook for me chef" our first night and it was a great time. A wine pairing with each course and the sommelier would explain each choice. We were full and happily relaxed and headed immediately to the evening relaxation massage which was my favorite spa treatment of the trip. I also had the crystal serenity scrub/massage which was nice but I didnt enjoy the scrub as much, especially for the high price. My last evening, I had an anti-aging facial which was wonderful. The spa itself is beautiful and peaceful. A nice indoor/outdoor quiet seating area with tea and water, a two sided fireplace. I attended many meditation and mindfulness classes, as well as the lectures about dealing with stress and nutrition. I enjoyed the classes that included participation more than the classroom style/powerpoint. The all levels yoga was nice, though i wish there were more novice yoga classes, as I have NEVER done yoga and the all levels was ok, but i would have enjoyed more teaching and explanation. We did the equine experience, which was ok, but I didnt find it life changing. It really is a group therapy session. It was a bit awkward being there with my mom. I went on the morning beginners hike twice and enjoyed it both times, even though it was 39 degrees and because of the rain we had to don high boots to cross a stream! Miraval met my high expectations, I would definitely go back, and we plan to do so!

My sister and I spent one glorious week at the Miraval Resort. Ever since Oprah raved about it years ago it had been on my radar/list. It was finally in the cards this past week with my sister (this was a three peat visit for her!). We booked 6 months ago and I could hardly stand the wait.... my anticipation was palpable... and my week exceeded my high expectations! I am admittedly a bit of a spa and hotel connoisseur/snob...my gold standard is the Four Seasons. The service and attitude at Miraval is superior to many Four Seasons. Aside from their refreshing and lovely friendliness, the "can do" attitude is exceptional. Great job to all of the staff. Some of my standouts were: dining- Jessica, Tony, Victoria. Maxx at the pool (he works extremely diligently with a smile always!). Spa- Tammy, Ella, Amy (energy work amazing!), Sarah, Michael, Rick, and Amy the esthetician. Many of the aforementioned have been with Miraval for a long time. This speaks volumes. Very professional and very skilled, not. Tuned out or doing it by rote. Oscar at the spa desk was very helpful, knowledgeable about treatments and again friendly and accommodating. What a pleasure it was to not only receive a weeks worth of fabulous treatments, but with such ease, grace and competence. I recommend highly the Shamana Karma and Herbal Body Balancing. Wow! This staff is well versed in some interesting treatments, but definitely Moving on to the classes. I enjoyed the yoga and mediation classes immensely. All instructors were again, professional, helpful and in my case encouraging. Shoutouts to Alyssa and I regret to write that I didn't get the name of the gal who taught Mindful Energy Movement, but both she and the class were excellent. The gym is a beautiful place- so pristine, well cared for with state of the art equipment. I saw roadrunners, cardinals, bunnies, funky lizards and other wildlife from my machines! We used the large pool off of the spa, it was perfect. Sun or shade available. Never a "fight" for a lounge chair. Highly recommend the frozen lemonades with mint from Maxx! Also enjoyed shopping in all 3 retail spaces. Staff were the "Miraval Friendly" once again. Main gift shop could possibly use a facelift however, and that's not a complaint. Constructive criticism. I'm in retail! All meals were delicious. Definitely not the almonds, beans and tofu kind of spa! Healthy with a calorie count. Always options. Least favorite was lunch.... posole and turkey chili were featured 3 times each in a week. However, the Prickly Pear iced tea made up for it! And they sell it in the gift shop... The peanut butter Pavlov's with chocolate and caramel needs to be on menu nightly!!! The grounds are amazing. So tranquil. As previously mentioned, great wildlife (and I live near the Tetons!) The owl family by the pool was surreal. Hawks, javalina, hummingbirds, bright yellow finches rounded out the other critters. The cacti and other vegetation added to the wonderful ambiance. So nice to see native desert scaping. Our room was perfect. Lovely patio with a mountain view. Comfy beds. Turn down service always nice. The ESPA products not my favorite, would have preferred a more known brand and definitely something more hydrating. There are so many good choices out there....Again this isn't a "real" complaint, just more constructiveness... Only real complaint was Wifi. Terrible in the room. We got kicked off multiple times daily. Should have addressed it sooner than checkout though. Our fault. Hopefully they can get that fixed, doesn't add to the whole relaxation that is exuded everywhere! As I say, nothing is perfect. Our stay was 99% perfect though. We cannot wait for next year! Booking soon. If you're reading this and need a healthy, happy spa vacation, don't hesitate.

I have tried many different wellness retreats. What struck me about Miraval was how many folks were there with their families -- multi-generational ones, young adults/parents, husbands/wives. It quickly became clear that the reason for this is the diversity of programming that is offered... along with menus that offer choice (you can watch your calories or not; you can have alcohol if you want, and even dessert or not). Also while there were many outdoor options (e.g. mountain biking, zip lining etc) there were options like a generosity meditation or ariel yoga. Here you can go at your own pace -- but mainly you can regain a sense of calm. #mindfulmoments are plentiful and come in a all shapes and sizes. Now to bring the whole family.
