I have been in yoga retreats all over the world, but this was the most expen$$$$ive and the worst experience ever... 1) Upon the arrival, it took me over 3 hours to check in. I was tired and hungry from all day long traveling, but even water was not offered.. It is a huge hustle to get the room you want, but I did manage to get an upgrade to a Beachfront for only a portion of the price that was advertised on the website. Cash is King in negating there. 2) If you don't get the Beachfront Room, it does not worth even being there. There is no AC, so if there is no direct breeze from the ocean, the rest of the rooms are tucked away in the back and pretty stuffy, with sauna like feel to it. 3) If you are not Jennifer Aniston, don't expect top level of service or positive attitude... or even simple "Hello" from the management of this place. The owner of the property - Mellisa - the rudest person ever. The management is too busy to look into their Mac computers all day long, and if you have a question or concern, they will not even acknowledge you.... 4) The place also has the title of a "Retreat"... is far from it with all the blasting music from all day long classes....There is no serenity, no privacy. I also felt like I was under a microscope, as they have the list of all the Bootcamp participants on the Board, stating their first names, last names and the activities the person participates in... Just weird..High School feel to it... Also, there is no quiet meal time possible, as you are expected to sit with everyone at one table and socialize,,,, 5) The food is really tasteless and super overcooked. Breakfast are eggs, more eggs, more eggs, yogurt and avocado. Lunch and dinner is almost identical: fish that tasted like chicken and chicken that tastes like fish + greens. Thats it. No gourmet teas or coffees. 6) Place is dead after dinner. No activities. 7) It is not a spiritual place, at all!!! Just Gym Classes in the open air property on the beach. Thats is. Place is filthy, yoga mats are never wiped or clean, equipment and floors are slimy. 8) Just an awful experience...

I spent a week at Amansala in Mid April 2017 as part of Bikini bootcamp. It was truly amazing! I traveled alone from Chicago, and was unsure what to expect taking part in a boot camp, with NO ONE I knew.. Couldn't have been better... well, it could have been if I'd stayed longer. The Resort was wonderful, I paid the extra for a room on the beach, and it was sooo Worth it.. My view was spectacular, and the sound of the ocean and the breeze was fantastic! As a bootcamp participant, our food was included, and it was so good, and healthy!! Although we were kept busy beginning at 7am with classes, and working out, we did have plenty of 'down' time too.. Lots of beach, massage and reading time, just what my tired, stressed self needed! The trainers (Ryan, Darlene, Natalie, Jesse ) were all excellent at what they do.. and they made you want to work hard, without being 'mean' they were able to push you to be your 'best self'.. I've had trainers in the past that try to belittle you, or make you feel bad if you are struggling, these folks built you up to get you going! :) Lastly, the rest of the staff, Daniel, Juan, on and on.. were all great! They treat you wonderfully and work to make sure you are having a great time! The day trips (Cenote, Mangrove, Ruins), and bike riding are all amazing!! I'd go again in a heartbeat (and will)!! I came back as a better, stronger version of myself, and made several life long friends along the way!

This resort is amazing. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of each staff member immediately makes you feel like you are royalty. The rooms and decor are earthy and artistic simultaneously grounding you. The plant based diet is delicious and abundant. I highly recommend this resort for a girl's trip.

We stayed at Amansala for a wedding. The pictures online got us excited but WOW they do not do justice to the gorgeous resort. We drove up and I looked at my husband and said "wait are you serious right now? we get to stay HERE?!" We had the best time, the hospitality is incredible and the beach (right outside our room) is THE nicest I've experienced. If you are able to, you HAVE to stay here!

My friend Beth and I had no idea what to expect from this trip. We walked in starving and exhausted, lovely Darlene provided us with amazing veggies and guacamole, the rest was incredible! I had taken a total of two yoga classes before I went, I am now hooked. The employees could not have been more helpful and EVERY single instructor was a 10 out of 10 both yoga and cardio. I would have brought them all back to Missoula if I could have. You go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. If you want an American vacation in Mexico, this place is not for you. If you are up for some adventure, great food, healthy rejuvenation and meeting amazing people, make your reservation today. No, they don't have locks on your room, the schedule does change sometimes but what in the heck is vacation for? The staff worked incredibly hard to make sure my getaway was amazing. I usually don't go back to the same place twice but my next trip is already booked!
