We attended a wedding here, but did not stay on the property. You, or the bridal party has to pay an $85 resort fee to attend. The security on the property was like Fort Knox, okay if you are staying there, but ridiculous if you are trying to attend a function. We went to the property at 9 am for a 5 pm wedding to take advantage of the fee. The food was mediocre and the service was ok. The beach was pretty, but the swimming area was very small and it was rocky. There are so many choices in this area, I would not recommend this hotel. We have traveled all over Mexico and it does not stand out.

We stayed at this resort for 6 days in april. Pros: -Great service. Mangers checked on us to make sure we are taken care of. One of the evenings the night shows were cancelled due to rains. The management stopped by at every dinner table to apologize about the change in schedule.. -Kids Club accommodates kids of a wide age range. Our two kids (4&6) were in the same camp which made drop offs easier. -Bordeaux and portofino are the best choices for food - two pools. Plenty of space to wade and relax and play. -Unlike some resorts, the beach is not a long walk. Cons -The entire resort does have a "tired' look.its time to renovate! Even the sheets and towels could use a makeover. -Housekeeping keeps skimping on towels. We always had only 3 bath towels and 3 washcloths a family of 4. No hand towels and no bath floor mat/ towel. Calling housekeeping was no help since they took too long to get the stuff to the room. -The drinks are watered down. Ask for 'doble' liquor in drinks. Tips do help get better drinks and service. -sales folks will hound you. We just did not pick up the 'welcome package ' I am sure we missed out on some freebies. But it was not worth our time. - access to seating around the pool can be challenging due to people just leaving towels on the loungers and just coming back maybe once or twice to dry up and eat...... Overall a good experience due to the service and kids being happy. They could care less about towels, drinks and decor :)

Everyone was very friendly, the food was great. I highly recommend Isabel at the spa for braiding children's hair, she did a great job with my 2 daughters. We hung out at the pool one day and tried to do all the activites, there were so many fun things going on. The Mexican food was amazing, as was all the other restaurants.

We have stayed at many resorts around the world, but this one certainly was a cut above; some highlights below: 1) We are vegetarians, but we were very well looked after: each of their restaurants has a separate veg menu, and as long as you order a day in advance, they can have it all ready for you. Special thanks here go to the head chef Santiago Vera Gomez, and also chef Miguel, cap. Irais and cap. Louisa, who made our dining experience quite unforgettable. Breakfast in the World Cafe, by the way, was excellent. 2) Service was incredible: staff were ever so attentive and willing to help. 3) Entertainment was brilliant what with the pool foam party, the beach and aqua volley, the beach Zumba, the evening shows etc. 4) Room facilities were excellent 5) The beach was lovely with gorgeous soft sand, although the sea was usually rough. Some areas that could be improved would be as follows: a) They should ensure guests are aware of the existence of the separate veg menus and the need to order a day in advance b) Water for tea really should be boiling hot for tea to brew! Was regularly served warm water when asked for tea. A kettle in the room would also be most helpful for British tea lovers who can't wait half an hour for room service and ... warm water! c) More attentive house keeping: ensure all towels etc. taken away for laundry are replaced with fresh towels- we were often short of towels in the bathroom. Once we almost ran out of toilet roll as they had not replenished it. That's it- we don't normally revisit the same resort, but we might make an exception for Dreams Tulum :)

I stayed at this resort for four nights and traveled with my wife and two kids. This is a beautiful property with a stunning view from the reception area. (One so-so point is that when we got there, someone was assinged to us and we thought it was just to welcome and tell us about the property, etc. While he did do that, there was also a motive to get us to attend a breakfast and tour for some sort of vacation club/time share. While that is kind of a pain, he was not pushy at all when we said we were not interested.) The welcoming staff makes you feel very welcomed. The pools are great (one has a bar at one end, with a swim up area). The rooms are a good size and our's had a patio that was very pleasant. There are many dining options that are part of the all inclusive part--we tried the seafood place, the mexican restaurant, the sushi place, and the buffet for breakfast. All were good, the seafood restaurant was great (food and service), and sushi place was fine (not a lot of offerings but what they had was good). The two best aspects of this resort are (1) the service --without an exception, every staff member was service-oriented and made special efforts to go out of their way to make sure you were happy. The waiters and bartenders especially. Also, we had a couple of issues with our room (a broken safe and an odd smell that developed when the A/C was on) -- and the hotel responded quickly, courteously, and effectively to those issues. Things can be off at any resort, but the difference is how they address it. This place did great with that. The other highlight is the beach. The property is on a bit of a bend or cove - and that provides for a very beautiful and private feel on the beach. The property also is adjacent to a national park, so as you walk 50 yards to the south on the beach you are in a protected park. There is a little outcrop of rocks and you can see urchins and little fish, and cool coral-- also we found large conch shells snorkeling in three feet of water just off the beach. If you visit other resorts in Tulum, you will see how they can be stacked right on top of eachother and very busy feeling--. This has a much more private feel without feeling wedged in between two other resorts. I would go back to this resort without hesitation.
