I loved this place. I usually stay at Secrets because I dont like children but this place is so large that you couldn't tell there were kids around. Two or three well behaved ones scattered around so it was not an issue at all. YES they have a lot of weddings, when I was there on a Saturday they had seven weddings but the place didn't feel crowded. A few typical gringos behaving like, well gringos at weddings with their country music. But it was brief and the rest of the resort was quiet. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. They do an excellent job of making guests feel welcome and at home. I read a few reviews stating that the resort is getting a bit outdated, but I have to disagree. It has a very classical hacienda style which never gets outdated. I'm Mexican so perhaps I have a different view of what classical is and the resort definitely has that beautiful traditional colonial vibe with the chandeliers, moldings and wooden frames. The beach/ocean water was a bit murky. I had never been to the Riviera Maya before and I expected it to be clear and turquoise like it shows on many pictures all over the internet. I was there for nine days and none of the days cleared up. It was brown and rocky, most people didn't really get in the water. I took a taxi trip to another beach nearby and that was beautiful. The pools were a bit cold, I think because we had a cold front push in during the stay and it rained a bit. I was there for a day after Dia de Los Muertos and they threw a party which was awesome! They had live music and performers, I was actually impressed. I will never forget the experience. I have been to Secrets resorts in Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco and Dominican Republic and honestly this one is my favorite so far even though it is a Dreams. I like that it is spread out and you can walk around it. It has a little garden trail, tennis courts and a nice natural beach both on the north and south part of it. I went with my family and there was something for everyone. The food of the restaurants was delicious and the staff was professional at serving it. We tried ALL of them and I can't decide which restaurant I liked best. I wish I could have gotten into the ocean more but we had so many activities that it didn't make the stay disappointing at all. On the second day the ocean was calm and we walked a bit more north to a nicer part cleaner part of the beach. The pools were nice though, we rented a cabana for a day and spent the entire time on the pool. It was very relaxing. I want to thank all the staff specially the ladies at Prefer, I believe her name was Paola. She was very friendly and nice to my family and me. Also the concierge lady at my building was attentive and made sure my room was cleaned and stocked. I have no complaints, only a good time. Will come back for sure!

Overall the experience of the resort was wonderful. Great customer service and beautiful ambience. Their entertainment staff was amazing. Buffet food was good. The specialty restaurants were also good although service was slow.

I was not aware that Dreams Tulum is almost EXCLUSIVELY a wedding destination. There were over 70 weddings while we were there in the week! This made for not a good experience because the crowds were big, restaurants were closed for exclusive weddings, noise was LOUD all night long and we were even told we were in the adults only section, and had a crying baby 2 nights of our stay.
