Reviews for La Perla del Caribe
Our group of 14 rented 2 villas in January 2018 (Villas Opal and Sands). What a wonderful vacation. We were stunned when we walked on to the property. The white sand, impeccably clean resort, and Villas with extraordinary views of the blue sea are beyond anything I have seen. It felt very private and was definitely low key and relaxing. The onsite staff is incredible. Felix arranged tours, and was a great help with any need we had. It is located 6 miles north of San Pedro, so we didn't do a lot of traveling back and forth to town. We had meals prepared by a local chef which was lovely. Highly recommend.

Our family could not have had a better vacation here the first two weeks of December. What a gorgeous setting with palm trees and perfect turquoise, crystal clear water! Of the 7 people our group included Grandpa age 86 years old, as well as a 6 months old Grand-baby and all had a wonderful stay in Sapphire Villa, right on the beach. The place was very clean and our villa was far more spacious than you can see from the photos, with high ceilings and lots of sunlight coming in. The wooden front deck attached to Sapphire was very large and we loved spending time relaxing there on lounge chairs. This was also very convenient for the baby stroller. The pool was lovely as well and everything was well maintained (although in the kitchen the old microwave oven and stove could have been replaced). The Sapphire Villa beach was perfect location for the kids to play in the sand, and swim in the sea or nearby pool. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially the manager Felix, who went out of his way to help provide us with whatever we needed. We had food delivered to our villa before we arrived so that made things easy after the long journey to get there from the northern USA. With Felix's help we rented a golf cart which allowed us to visit nearby resorts (especially Mambo's Restaurant in Matachica Resort= excellent food and a lovely bar), although that rough, pot-holed, unpaved "road" was a bit of a bumpy challenge, but we got used to it! On a few occasions several of us took water taxis to go to the dive shop not far away and went out to the reef for snorkeling and scuba diving from there. That was a highlight of our trip and one of the main reasons we had chosen Belize, and specifically Ambergris Caye. The reef still seemed pretty healthy there with so many beautiful fish and flora. If we had any criticism at all it was that we were slightly disappointed that at La Perla we were rather too far from the reef for snorkeling right from the resort beach---the sea was shallow with a lot of sea grass, and with water taxis traveling past the end of the dock it would have been rather dangerous to try, even in a kayak provided. However overall it was an amazing vacation. We will return to La Perla I'm sure!
I rented the villa La Perls In early October. This was a girls weekend and there was five of us. It was truly fabulous, there was plenty of space in the common areas so we weren’t on top of each other and we each had our own bedroom which was a must for us. We loved hanging out at the little pool the service that we got from the office was great and it was just a lovely combination of total and complete relaxation with a little bit of adventure thrown in super super happy with our experience.
Our stay at Villa Opal in La Perla del Caribe was incredible! It was almost like we had our own private resort. From mediating & working out on the pier, to hanging at the pool with a drink in our hand, every moment was amazing! The home was well equipped & Mr. Bol and Felix were unbelievably accommodating. The only complaint is the bugs... we could not go out for more than 10 seconds without a bite, unless we were doused in bug repellant. Tips: buy a mosquito net for babies & buy water from Felix (5 gal) - much cheaper!

San Pedro - Belize is one of the most interesting island for scuba and snorkeling ,i've been few times and always is a fantastic way to get out of normal life. I had many friends over the Villas ,and a great cooker to help all of us.It was like to have a party at your own home ,surrounding by this nature and the Caribbean sea. Will be back for sure!!
