Reviews for Belmond Las Casitas

An exceptional hotel experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A truly beautiful hotel set in a peaceful and secluded spot near to colca canyon. The room (casita) is magnificent with exceptional furnishings and fittings and a private spa. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was great and the gardens were beautiful. The perfect spot to stay if you are visiting the colca canyon and the condors.

The BEST of the best in Colca Canyon!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Hands-down this was THE BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I've ever had!! I came to this hotel after riding on the Andean Explorer train for 3 days (another highly recommended experience!) But this rivaled my train trip!! Each room is like a mini hacienda and has its own private hot tub and a MASSIVE bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. And that's not including the peaceful views surrounding the hotel property! I've done a lot of travel and stayed in all sorts of places, from hostels to upscale hotels to everything in between, but I have to say that this is a genuine 5 star experience in Peru. If you want a guaranteed BEST-OF-THE-BEST of Peru's Colca Canyon where you don't have to think about planning, comfort, quality, or safety: this is the place for you. You will have guaranteed amazing amenities, amazing location, amazing service/transportation, amazing food, and amazing attention to detail. For example: each night during turnover, the staff places hot water bottles in your sheets so you get into a super cozy bed with the fluffiest pillows at night! But the true gem of this hotel experience is THE STAFF: The staff really outdid themselves by their attentiveness to service--they even repaired my hat for me while I was there! They are always looking for ways to make your experience EVEN better. The spa is also incredible--I highly recommend getting a massage! There are multiple activities you can consider taking a part of at the hotel as well: from the paso fino horse show (recommend! You can even take a picture on horseback with the horse named Bailarin!), to seeing the condors at Colca Canyon, feeding the llama on premesis, bike riding to the town of Yanque, horseback riding around the area, learning how to make a sancayo sour or ceviche, or even arranging for a BREAKFAST WITH A PERSONAL CHEF OVERLOOKING COLCA CANYON (my absolute most VIP experience ever in my life! The part of Colca Canyon you eat breakfast in is private with few tourists--you'll feel like a total celebrity!) BOTTOMLINE: This is the experience of a lifetime and a gem of a hotel. I should also mention that all food is organic and most is grown on the premises! Special shout outs to the AMAZING head manager: MariNelly Huamantinco, in addition to Meco, Edison, Domingo (who was on loan from Belmond Rio Sagrado), and the ENTIRE staff who made my visit spectacular!! P.S. I wish I could add pictures, but for some reason Tripadvisor is making it hard for me to attach any :-(

The room is the highlight

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The room is very generous in size. The soaking pool is divine. The choice of food can be a bit limited if you stay more than one night and already stay with other Belmond properties in Peru. The road to the property from the main road is winding but fun. The ground is also great to explore.

An amazing experience in the Colca

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This is a fantastic property in a beautiful part of the Colca Valley in Perú. Yes, it is pricey, but worth every penny. We stayed only for one night but were able to enjoy the facilities and the extraordinary service. We got Casita 23 which had a beautiful and private view. Each casita has a hot plunge pool on the terrace and it was just bliss to be there at sunrise, sunset and night. We attended a Ceviche Class the evening we were there and the chef, Juan Carlos, was amazing explaining the process and making a delicious trout ceviche. The duty manager, Maria , was super friendly and attentive as were all the staff. As in a property of this quality (and price) the details are what make the difference, from the plushest towels, bathmats and bathrobes to the turn down service where they fold your clothes and leave a hot water bottle in the bed, to the thoughtful herbal tea service brought to the room without even asking. The casitas are huge and beautiful and I wish we would have stayed longer. The food is also amazing at dinner and breakfast and the team there is superb. It's definitely worth the trek and it's an experience you would like to have again. Well done Belmond and Las Casitas team.
