With a flawless design and a spectacular setting, Alila Villas Uluwatu marries Balinese culture with modern design. Perched atop a magnificent plateau abutting limestone cliffs, the ocean below bellows with the sound of crashing waves and creates a melodic echo with every crest. There are 84 sustainably-designed villas concealing interiors that are contemporary and uncluttered, with overtones of traditional Balinese textures including rattan and stone. The multi-room villas, each with its own pool, radiate with luxury and boast such appointments as private bars, outdoor dining nooks, private cabanas, and stylish baths with both indoor and outdoor showers. There is also 24-hour butler service, which adds an effortless element to your stay.

We recently stayed in a One-Bedroom Pool Suite on Level 4 and had a wonderful experience overall. The standout feature of this resort is undoubtedly the pool and its spectacular clifftop setting overlooking the ocean. The views are absolutely world-class and among the best we have experienced anywhere. The service throughout the resort was also exceptional. Special thanks to Kamang at the main restaurant, Dakta at the pool, and Vina at the bar, all of whom provided outstanding service and attention to detail that made our stay even more enjoyable. There were, however, a few areas that could be improved. Our experience at Cire Restaurant was disappointing compared to the rest of the resort. The portion sizes were very small and did not represent good value given the prices charged. For example, our main courses were undersized and arrived lukewarm when they should have been served hot. Considering the premium pricing, we expected a much better dining experience. We also found the lighting in the suite to be less than ideal. Like many modern luxury resorts, there are numerous light switches to navigate, yet the room still felt too dark in many areas. Despite these issues, the breathtaking location, incredible views, and exceptional service made for a memorable stay, and we would happily return.

I would like to take a moment to thank the team at Alila for the exceptional service throughout our stay. Every member of staff we encountered was professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making this a truly memorable trip. We especially appreciate how the hotel handled a noise disturbance we experienced one night—guests from a neighbouring villa began a loud party at 3am, making it impossible for us to sleep. The staff and security team responded swiftly to resolve the situation and kindly offered us a complimentary spa session as a gesture of goodwill. It is this level of care and accountability that sets a great hotel apart. Apart from services, the cliff edge spa experience also stood out as the best spa experience ever for us. You will experience massage under the natural sound of the Indian ocean. This has been one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, and we would not hesitate to return.

“The Alila Uluwatu is a truly gorgeous property with breathtaking views. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon. I strongly recommend the hotel for a private getaway for couples although there were some families present at the time we were there. Definitely a very pricey hotel. The saying ""if you have to ask then you probably can't afford it"" I think fits well. However with views and luxury behind them I figure one shouldn't complain. Really miss waking up to seeing my private pool, cabana and the blue skies and seas of the Indian ocean sprawled out before me. Service couldn't be flawed either. Smiles everywhere accompanied by genuine interest to make sure all was well with meals, spa, rooms etc."
