TAKE CAUTION when booking a stay here, because management is clearly seeking money, lacks care for their customers, and does not take responsibility for their own errors. I booked a weekend for my best friend's 30th birthday, but realized the weekend did not work for her. I called and left a message simply inquiring if the stay could be changed to a different date, because it is not clearly stated in the policy. I requested a return phone call to discuss. Instead, the booking was cancelled via email, and the room was then given to someone else without my consent to cancel. I have had several email exchanges over the past few months with an overall refusal to refund my money on their error of cancelling without customer consent to the transaction. Initially, over the phone I was offered the option to rebook different dates because of the error - this offer was then taken back and I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Bear in mind, I never requested dates to be cancelled but was seeking a courtesy phone call to inquire if it was possible to make a change. I left three voicemails with the manager and sent a certified letter by mail, with no response. This is not how you treat a customer. So now that I have had 600 dollars taken from me without consent or compensation by Sonoma Coast Villa's error. I will be taking this to small claims court in order to obtain my money. Truly disgusted and disappointed by my experience.

This property was beautiful and so romantic! The grounds were immaculate, free evening wine tasting with complementary cheese was fun, the included breakfast was delicious and a couple steps up from plain continental. It was very quiet except for the occasional sounds of night critters (owls, crickets, etc). There was even a little library where one could borrow books and DVDs. We were only there one night since it is a ways away from Sonoma and Napa where we were wine-tasting the next day, but we could have made the trek. We actually tried to cancel our Napa hotel and could not. There was one weird moment about 20 minutes after we checked-in early. There is some work being done on the property and a worker walked into our room not realizing it was already occupied. He was extremely apologetic that day (and the next when my husband saw him). Honest mistake and we should have locked the door, but wanted to fully disclose. Regardless, we would definitely stay here again and plan to return on a future trip.

I had the best meal I've ever eaten in the wine country at their restaurant. Grilled squid and pork bellies. Don't miss it! The Resort has Gorgeous surroundings, inviting rooms and friendly staff. Many spots to just relax. Must go back to when the garden is in full bloom!

Location was great and stay was nice. Had breakfast every morning as part our stay and it included a nice variety. All in all, great value and enjoyed our stay. Cell reception was a no go, but that is a network issue with Verizon. It was nice to decompress with no phones.

Secluded, quiet hide-a-way and spa. Great for a short get-a-way for you and your significant other. Quaint, lovely and well manicured grounds. Couples massage was wonderful. Simple buffet breakfast and late afternoon wine tasting included. Mike the chef is a phenomenal chef and very personal. We had the pre-fixe dinner for two with wine pairing. A little pricy but each of the four courses was excellent and worth every penny. Great service provided by everyone who worked there to make you feel comfortable.
