Villa Garbo in Cannes, France

Located in fabulous Cannes - a favorite destination for celebrities who flock here for the annual film festival - is the lovely Villa Garbo. Housed in a 1880-era belle époque building are 11 stylish flats, replete with modern amenities from full-size kitchens to flat-panel televisions, with jutting Juliette-style balconies and delicate iron balustrades. Choose from four room categories, including the classic one-bedroom and duplex to the sprawling two-bedroom penthouse suite. You will also discover a tranquil setting as you step inside the enclosed garden that cocoons the property. A daily breakfast of French specialties is either brought to your abode or you can opt to wander downstairs to nosh in the lounge. In the evening guests congregate in the lounge as well, where a hosted bar is open in the early evening. Villa Garbo also has a spa complete with fitness room, hammam and massage therapy by appointment for added pampering.

The location, in the center of Cannes, is also idyllic. Rue d'Antibes, the town's famed shopping avenue, is just steps from Villa Garbo's front door, as is Boulevard de la Croisette, another tiny area with fabulous shops and well-heeled residents. Elegant yachts and bobbing fishing boats punctuate the waters of this seaside town. The Cote d'Azur features platinum-sand beaches as well as wonderful restaurants and sidewalk cafes where steaming espresso and flaky croissants can be savored most anytime of day. Cannes truly is the quintessential playground of the rich and famous, with Villa Garbo providing all the luxury and privacy you could ever want.

Villa Garbo is a lovely boutique hotel, with impeccable service. The manager and all the team were extremely courteous and helpful, and absolutely went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The rooms and decor are well appointed, making the hotel into a calm oasis in the bustle of Cannes.

This is real romantic place for two! Rooms are big, clean and you've got everything you need! A little unpleasant moment, so it's a weak soundproof. On the first floor you can hear the steps and conversations of people. The problem is solved by closing the doors between the corridor and the bedroom. Parking without any charge. Recomends!

We spent a wonderful two weeks holiday at Villa Garbo with my husband. The atmosphere was very familiar and very friendly. We felt special and not a guest of the many, as in a larger hotel. The staff does not only do its job, it does not only do everything with maximum professionalism, but also delivers the heart to the true hospitality. Honestly, we've had enough of the sterile and impersonal world of big hotels and this place was perfect for us. We knew almost everyone's names and they personally cared about us and our needs. We could not ask them what they would not have done. We received not only accommodation but also complete travel arrangements at the same time. Because we can not speak French and admit it, it is easier to organize some programs in the native language so we can trust them with confidence. They have booked for us for example a restaurant for dinner, a place in a private beach, for my husband an experience driving program as well. My husband and I were looking for a particularly quiet place, where we could relax without any stress. Although the hotel is in a busy place, everything is soundproofed so we could only hear the noise when we sat on the terrace. As the hotel has only 11 rooms, so we did not feel overcrowded. We were perfectly able to relax ourselves. Although the hotel is not officially an adult friendly place, we still feel it. There were children between guests, but they were typically older. The smaller ones behaved polite too, perhaps because of the mood of the place. Cause we booked through the official website so we could order the beach package. (This option is not available for those who book a room elsewhere). The package included a ticket for each day at the private beach L'Ondine with a 5-minute walk, 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds. The beach is sandy, slowly deepening and includes a restaurant, so you can stay from the morning till the end of the day. The hotel staff gave us a bag every day, with 2 clean towels, specially for the beach. We were in a deluxe suite that was big enough to both of us. The kitchen was well equipped, and besides the usual things, it included toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker (with purchasable capsules), pots, plates, glasses and cutlery. For me, the holiday is not about cooking everyday, but who needs it can fully realize it there. I only missed the microwave oven from the kitchen. The nearest supermarket is in a 3 minutes walk and is big enough. Cannes's two large shopping streets are within easy walking distance. The hotel has an open bar service from 6 to 8 pm. every day, which means that in the hall you can enjoy unlimited use of the stuff the put up for free. Alcoholic drinks, fruit juices, soft drinks, sodas, wines are available, cheese, salami, chips are placed beside them. Of course not enough for dinner, but it's perfect to bite and drink something before dinner or after a long day at the beach. It is also perfect to meet and talk to other guests. Breakfast is also wonderful with varied meals, homemade jam and daily hand-made cakes (thanks Johan! :)) Guy, the owner is very friendly and kind man, who is happy to talk to his guests. All I can say about this exceptional place is that we came here originally for Cannes, but we will come back for the Villa Garbo. It is rare for such an impressive hotel. I suggest to everyone if they are looking for a real French hospitality in the Cote D'Azur, choose this hotel and they will not be disappointed! 5/5 Thanks for everything guys :) Mr. and Mrs. Bak

We were very impressed with the reception and the service - and the relaxed atmosphere as a consequence thereof. Lovely decor and great style. The Beach at the Croisette is only 3 or 4 minutes walk away, and you pass by the best shops in Cannes, directly on the Rue d'Antibes.
