Just an hour or so southeast of Florence, the magnificent medieval village of Cortona provides an ethereal setting for Villa Marsili. This exquisite establishment is one of the town's most elegant residences, and a favorite of celebrities such as Diane Lane and Josh Brolin, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Geoffrey Rush. From public sitting rooms, views embrace the scenic pergolas of the outdoor gardens, and from your elegantly furnished accommodations you can gaze across the gentle rolling hills of Valdichiana.

Reviews for Villa Marsili
We are Italian but let us write this review for everyone's benefit Cortona is already amazing and the cherry on top of the cake is the hospitality at Villa Marsili. They will do everything they will can to make your stay as comfortable and seamless. We arrived with a problem at our car and they contacted several mechanics and got us an appointment on the spot. But it is in the small details that they go above and beyond. There is an open aperitif before dinner and cantucci cookies and vin santo sweet wine when you come back at night. You can't really say you visited this area of Italy without trying dipping the hard cookies into the sweet wine after dinner. And the trump card is the breakfast buffet with a whole cart of just made incredible delicacies, my favourite was the mozzarella stacked fried eggplants. Never saw anything like that Oh, and they also have nice cozy rooms.... Just don't miss it Alfonso and Chiara

From the moment we stepped in we were greeted with a happy and friendly smile and this continued all through our whole week. The staff is truly the best I have ever encountered in a hotel. They seem to enjoy their job and therefore the feeling of the hotel is professionally ā€¯homelyā€¯. We had booked a superior room but was pleasantly surprised to be upgrade to the suite. And what a suiteā€¦ I want to move there. It has a big bedroom and sitting room, big bathroom with double basins, shower and a jacuzzi and also the best view while brushing your teeth. The breakfast, donā€™t even know where to begin. It has everything and then some. Truly the most awesome breakfast of all times. In the evening they serve delightfully, light snacks. You only have to pay for your drinks. Even later on they have cantuccini and a couple of other cakes. Delicious! They also have the best amenities from a brand called ā€¯Prijaā€¯. Lovely shower cream and body lotion. Should have bought some with me back home, but forgot. The sad part is that we had to leave, the good is that we will most likely return to Cortona and we will choose Villa Marsili again!
We spent two nights at Hotel Villa Marsili in Cortona Italy. Our bike tour company Ciclismo Classico chose them as our final hotel on our tour of Tuscany. This is it a beautiful hotel with a short walk into the town. Our room was spacious and just beautiful, with a little sitting area. The lounge area was inviting and the outdoor bar. Their breakfast was wonderful. Lots of selections, and even offered eggs to order. But the best of all were the staff members. They were so kind and patient. I kept forgetting my key and they were so understanding. Marini and Luana were especially helpful, they made you feel like an honored guest. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Cortona.
Rooms were large, well appointed, and clean. Location was perfect (except for parking a car, so luckily there was free valet parking when we arrived), only a 5 minute walk (mostly uphill so may be difficult for the elderly?) to the quiet and friendly town of Cortona (which is mostly flat). The area is strikingly BEAUTIFUL. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and goes out of their way to help guests find restaurants or shops or things to do. I am glad that we stopped here for a day or so on our way from Bologna to Rome.

Even before we got there, their responses to my emails regarding our stay and activities during our stay was super quick and so kind. They provided us everything I needed. I knew we were going to have an amazing days in Cortona because of them. As soon as we got off the train at the nearest station from Rome, the driver was waiting for us on the platform! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite since we are a family with two boys. The view from the room was beyond that I imagined!! It was amazing! The room was so spacious and the boys comfortably enjoyed every second there. The park was right up on the hill which they played with local kids. To the center of the city is just 5 minutes walk. I've never felt clean that much in the hotel. I'm the person who tiptoes in the hotel and I didn't! It was just perfect. Everything was perfect. I still dream of being in the Villa even after we came back. I can't wait to visit that Villa again and do the same things all over again!
