A thirteenth century castle buried deep in a wooded parkland sounds like the setting for a fairy tale, but really it is home to the exclusive Ashford Castle. Standing impressively on the shores of Lough Corrib in County Mayo, Ireland, Ashford Castle is a monument to a fascinating and timeless history. Once the Guinness Family estate, the Castle has since opened its doors as an exclusive luxury hotel in 1939. Where else could one spend the morning learning how to fly a hawk at the School of Falconry, escape to the Walled Garden for a romantic picnic, and relax in the afternoon with a soothing massage at the spa? Filled with family heirlooms, rich furnishings and priceless objets dâ€(TM)art, Ashford presents the chance to enjoy the splendor of a bygone era in comfort and style.

Ashford Castle. What can be said that has not already been said before. From the moment we drove up to the gate of the estate we knew we were going to have an amazing stay. Every single member of staff were helpful and extremely friendly but at all times gave 5* service. It was everything we dreamt of and more. We did the History Tour cruise from the Castle - Loved it.. Took complimentary bikes and cycled around the estate and went walking with the wolfhounds. Dinner in the Dungeon restaurant was gorgeous. Also loved the Billiards room and Cigar room adjacent. This trip was extra special to us as it was on my partners Bucket List and we were so excited to experience it. The complimentary Upgrade is something we still talk about, we were blown away by the kindness to receive it. We stayed for 2 nights and I was super excited to see the availability for November 2026 was opened earlier this week, and booked a 3 night stay for next year. Ashford Castle, Management and Staff. Thank you for all you do. We are so looking forward to returning and our plan is to make this an Annual Trip.

My four adult children and spouses joined my wife and me for a three day stay at Ashford Castle. Everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms, the food, the service and the available activities were all excellent! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! It definitely warrants a return visit. Upon returning home, I told friends that I don't know what "castle living" was like in the 16th century, but it's mighty fine in 2025!

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe our experience at Ashford Castle! It is absolutely breathtaking in its stunning location, surroundings, and beauty. The rooms were opulent and yet so comfortable. The food was impeccable. They had boots and umbrellas in the lobby for guests to borrow so the weather didn’t deter you from enjoying all the amazing activities. The only thing more amazing than the castle itself is the staff! From check in to wait staff, everyone was beyond attentive. But hands down the highlight of our stay was the Sommelier, Paul! When we arrived too late for our cellar wine tasting, he brought the wines to our dinner table. He was knowledgeable, interesting, and funny. The next night he took us to the cellar for a private tasting, patiently took our photos, and made it the perfect end to a perfect stay!

We had a fabulous time at Ashford Castle. I cannot fault the team of staff there. Absolutely marvellous, their attention to detail is second to none. We were so impressed with the courtesy service into Cong, so nice to go in, and chat with everyone there, come back to the Castle for a night cap. The breakfast was wonderful, as a Coeliac, I was really very impressed with the GF pastries. Never have had GF pastries before. They were delicious. The whole breakfast experience was fantastic! All the staff are really very attentive. It would be unfair to single anyone out as they are all very nice. I have to say, Breege & Eleanor & Patrick were brilliant. But to be honest they are all so lovely. Spending 3 nights there was fabulous, we were there last year for 2 nights. We will be back next year for our annual get together with some friends. Once again thank you for having such a fabulous place that we can come to, which feels like home. Very relaxing.

Enjoy a truly Castle experience with fine dining and country pursuits available. The staff were delightful and helpful. The views from the property are spectacular, and there are extensive walking trails throughout its grounds. The onsite kitchen garden provides fresh produce for the kitchen, and it is well worth a visit.

This is one of the finest properties we have ever visited. It is a beautiful castle, but it is also a world class hotel in the most beautiful setting you can imagine. The grounds are large and bikes are available for guests, the fishing on the river and the lake are first rate, and the service is unmatched. We have stayed twice and can't wait to go back again.
