Great place to stay!

Great place to stay! Had a full kitchen which was nice to cook at home and save a little money. Plenty of restaurants near by, but be sure to book reservations way ahead of time! The costal walk was beautiful and close by.

Nice, but not recommended.

Overall the location was nice. Great if you have 4 people. Beautiful view, close enough to walk to a couple of beaches. Check in was fine, but did have to call to get code as we arrived after 5. I agree that fees are a surprise, so know that you are going to pay about 150 per day extra. The villa itself is a good size, but our unit did have some issues that lowered the score. Some furniture is dated, but easy enough to get over if we didn't have other issues that we had. One of two a/c units didn't work, so one bedroom nice, but rest of rooms were 78 to 80 for the trip. We think there was termites- what looked like sand on countertop (what we thought 1st time we cleaned), but came back twice more during our stay. For sure we had roaches around the kitchen sink (adults and babies). Which meant upon arriving home worried that we might have brought some home. Overall nice location, but do to these items (extra costs and parts) would put it as a not recommend place.

Beautiful location and facility.

Beautiful location and exquisitely appointed and luxuriously comfortable villa. Multiple grocery stores are nearby, so we saved quite a bit by making our own meals. There are two beaches within quick walking distance - one is often used by hotel guests and is calm while the other is nearly always empty or nearly so and has excellent surf. We have returned to this location repeatedly over the past years and highly recommend it. Only a single downside: the facility tends to use gas-powered gardening tools, occasionally starting quite early in the morning. For those coming from the mainland, especially the east coast, this can be distressing if it happens to be one of your first few mornings in Hawai'i.

Beautiful property and location.

We stayed in unit 24B4. Beautiful view of the ocean. This unit was very clean and spacious. The lanai was awesome, it had a table and chairs, great for sitting and watching the ocean. Access to the beach was very close to our room. The gated property was very clean and quiet. I would stay here and again.

Kapalua Villas Nightmare stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 months ago

8th time staying here since the 1990s, WOW has the Kapalua Villas management hit rock bottom. Check-in time is for only one hour between 4 and 5pm. "Welcome Pack" (which we kept being told we should consult for the info we were requesting which it supposedly contained) was never emailed, and when we arrived 5 minutes after 5pm, office was closed so never received anything from the management during our entire stay. Had to call security *(very nice man) to get a night service to call to get code for the unit door, as VRBO email said to contact local Kapalua Villas management for all entry and property information. Finally got door code info a hour later causing us to miss our dinner reservation. Entered unit, A/C broken and inside temp almost 90 degrees. Called Main office to report A/C outage for the WiFi login info, as the card in the room said to check the router for the login on the white sticker which didn't exist on the unit; office rep was very put off that we called, and rudely said we should have consulted our non-existent "WelcomePacK' for the info. Used towel and shampoo, with hair on bathroom floor meant someone had entered the unit and cleaned themselves up prior to our arrival. Went to use pool on last night, instead of key opening gate as usual during previous visits, there was instruction to use a "FOB" which we never received and unit key did not open gate; didn't use the pool as it wasn't worth the hassle to try and get access as it was once again past 5pm. At eaxctly 11A of last day, was greeted with a ring at the door from a staff person telling us to get out. Incredible, after all the problems with the resort. Needless to stay, will not be returning, which makes us ver sad. Please do not stay here. Property is still lovely, but unbelievable mismanagment by the current company makes staying here a nightmare so should be avoided at all costs.
